When he decides to help Roy get over his fear of horses, the two men spend more time together, leading Roy to share confidences about his troubled past. "Nowhere to Run" is the third book in the "Nowhere to Ride" series. Roy Unger is new to ranching and it seems clear that he has some secrets he's keeping. Brad is a more experienced rancher and he takes Roy under his wing, teaching him job skills that he needs to learn. As the two become friends, they realize that they also have an attraction to each other. Can Roy's secrets be revealed and dealt with, so he can form a deeper bond with Brad?

This low-angst book is light on sexual encounters, but strong on respect, support, community, family, friends, and deep love. It also revisits some of the characters from other books in the series to provide a catch-up. It's a natural feel-good book that shows just how good life can be when people do right by each other.

Roy, a ginger with brown eyes, is working on the ranch,

tough days, and really making progress in his life, but a secret from his home, still weighs heavily.
Brad, a solid older cowboy who is an ex-rodeo man,

likes hard working Roy and teaches him to be at ease with the horses.

Roy is happy to be working with good meals and a roof. He and Brad talk and share deep thoughts. The close proximity has them becoming friends, and then begin to explore the attraction.

Roy hasn't had serious M/M exposure, so they move slowly.
While Roy gets better at working the ranch, he is also being helps to learn to read. The ranch is an open, friendly place to be safe. We met Ky, Brodie and Emily in the first book.

Roy's conscience has him telling Brad his tale of woe, and how he ran from home. The two men go to Ky and Brodie, and ask to travel to settle things in Utah.

We see family, plus their chosen family there on the Texas ranch, and both want to go back there.

This is a marvelous story of growing, facing truths, and righting wrongs, to become more.
Andrew Grey gave us another gem.
The epilogue is strong.
ENJOY !

Andrew Grey always has books that are sweet, sexy and are so varied in their locations, I think he must research for months to get his info correct. (Seriously, in this book, when Roy is cleaning out a stable, there's information about what is put down on the ground...and who knew it was anything other than hay?)This one has sweet Roy, who is pretty much as sweet and virginal as you can get for a ranch hand. He's hiding out to stay away from some unpleasantness at home. His goal was just to keep his head down, not get in any trouble, and make some money. Fortunately, he landed somewhere that didn't ask a lot of questions, and seemed to want to take in a lost soul.Brad, meanwhile, had his own issues, after having spent most of his young life dreaming of riding in a rodeo, then his first time, he is thrown and injured. He's made do with the hand he's been dealt, and seems to have spent time loving what his new life is. He takes Roy under his wing, teaching him how to ride, standing up for him until Roy could stand up for himself, and figure out how to address the situation at home.I had a bit of a hard time staying in the story when Roy just decided to go home and deal with the issue. It threw me how he had gained that much confidence in just a few days time. It was a novella, though, so there has to be grace for that. Roy did seem to be able to step back into his parents' lives and not allow them to step all over him, and much of that was due to Roy being at the ranch, not just being with Brad.Overall, a nice little cowboy novella, although I'm not sure I would re-read it.3.5 pieces of eye candy

This is the third book in this series (Nowhere to Ride), but it is a stand alone. Though there are other characters from the first two books, the main men – Brad and Roy – are the focus of this one. Roy is a greenhorn on the run from home troubles. He lands on the ranch and gets a job cleaning the barn and whatever other work they give him. Unfortunately, he’s afraid of the horses—something Brad notices and takes it on to help Roy. They become closer, finally realizing they have feelings for each other. But first, Roy needs to clear some things up back home. Brad knows Roy has some secrets, but doesn’t push, letting Roy come to him.

There is plenty of heat and sweetness between Brad and Roy, but light on the heavy sex. Still, there is plenty of emphasis on family, friends, respect, and support. In the end, Brad and Roy are a sweet couple and this is a story with a satisfying ending.

Recommendation: If you like Andrew’s books, definitely add this one to your shelf. It’s short, sweet, and with a HEA that satisfies.

Andrew Grey delivers another sweet, touching read in the Nowhere to Ride series with Nowhere to Run! My oh my, Roy and Brad are really great characters who are just so easy to fall in love with! I really enjoyed the easygoing pace I felt with this book, yes there is drama and things these characters have to overcome, but the genuine emotion and sweetness really carries this story.

Roy ran away from his life in Provo, now he’s working hard trying to make it on his own. He tries to do his work and keep his head down but he catches the eye of another worker Brad. Brad sees that Roy has secrets, he’s shy and quiet but as they form a tentative friendship, Roy comes out of his shell and starts to open up to Brad. There’s something very special growing between the two, but if they really are going to move forward Roy is going to have to deal with the past he ran away from.

Again, I just loved these two. Brad is so supportive of Roy, no matter what the issue is, he’s there to tackle it with him. He doesn’t force him to make decisions but talks things through with him and stands by him. I loved seeing how Roy grows, whether it’s ability to drop a snarky comment at dinner or standing up for what is right, he really becomes a wonderful man. There’s a sweet slow burn to their romance, but you can definitely feel that connection between them. A great addition to this series, these guys will definitely find a place in your heart!

This is the logical continuation of the Nowhere to Ride series. Here we meet Brad a wanna be rodeo cowboy that had to retire due to an injury before his career really got started. Now he's hunkered down and working on Ty and Brodie's horse farm from book 1. Brad's content... but lonely, and is looking for a new dream.

When scared and waif-like Roy shows up and is hired onto the farm, it's clear to Brad that Roy's never done farm work before. But he's gotta admire the kid's spunk. And as Brad helps Roy learn what it means to be a cowboy, the two grow closer and it's pretty clear that Brad may soon be seeing some of the other kind of spunk that Roy can offer.

Again, this is a tale of a kinder, gentler Texas that what we see on the nightly news. There are good people there that we hear all too little about. At around 100 pages pages each, these tales are more novellas than full blown novels but they are romantic reads that deliver happy endings and give the reader a chance to spend some time getting to know some folks that it's easy to care about. The characters tend to re-appear in cameo roles in later tales making these a bit more homey and adding to the overall enjoyment. This one generates plenty of "feels",  but doesn't really break any new ground for me.

Please Mr. Grey, Give Us Morrrre!

I hope this is not the end of this series but unless one of the secondary characters in this one does a complete switch there isn't any hint of potential MC's for another book. That would be a shame because this is one of Andrew Grey's really sweet, totally relaxing, and despite the needed obstacles and drama, loveliest series he has given us.

He has given us two completely different characters in Roy and Brad, who were introduced to us briefly in each of the first two books. Roy is shy and unskilled and hiding something besides being conflicted on several fronts. Brad has a few years on him and has come to the realization that his dream of being a rodeo star is well out of reach.

How they get along and open up to each other is a pleasure to follow. Even though their mutual admissions of being gay come in a pretty casual and surprising way, there is no hot and heavy action to mess up what turns out to be a wonderful romance.

In the end, there is somewhere to run--to each other when it counts.

This is book three of the series. It can be read alone but you would enjoy it more if you read them all. This way you know who the other characters are.

Roy has lots of secrets. He showed up looking for work after running from home. Ky hires him even though he has no experience. Brad takes Roy under wing and sees things in Roy. They become friends and more.
This is such a sweet story. I loved both Brad and Roy and getting glimpses of Ky and Brodie again.
The romance is sweet, the sex off page and pretty slow burn.
It’s an all over feel good story. There is a touch of Suspense when Roy faces his secrets. I just wish that part had been drug out a little more. It felt slightly rushed.
Having said that… the story was really good snd easy to read. I read it in an evening.

M/M romance between ranch hands

Roy is a young man desperate for a job. He is on the run, out of money with no place to stay or food to eat when he gets hired at Ben and Lily's horse ranch. He keeps his head down and works so hard that everyone notices. He is afraid of horses and Brad takes him under his wing and helps him get more comfortable with them even teaching him to ride. They become close and eventually Roy's secrets come out about trouble back home and the fact that he can't read. This is a sort of a coming of age story for Roy and with Brad's support Roy gains confidence and takes on his troubles. It is a well written book with a HEA with two men finding the courage to love each other the cowboy way.

Running Doesn't Help

Its what Roy realizes as he works at Ky and Brodie's with the horses. He has help getting to that conclusion from Brad.

Brad takes notice of Roy and that he's hard working even if he is scared of the horses that he cleans the stalls for. He wants to get to know him more so he teaches him about Tue horses even how to ride which is great. It gets Roy out of his shell and to the conclusion he needs to go back home for a bit to deal with some family problems.

I loved the sweetness of them. Was glad to see Ky, Brodie and Emily too. Jessup was good too once they got out him what was going on as well. An excellent book again by Andrew.

Andrew, keep writing these beautiful stories that add a wonderful lesson too!

I read a lot, but Andrew's stories bring amazing thought provoking analysis that could help people to assist people to work and help to enhance their lives. To make everyone see that we all should treat each other as we all want to be treated. WE ARE ALL HIS CHILDREN and LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY. WE ARE TO BE TRUE and HONEST. WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE ANY ONE. IT'S BETWEEN HIM and ALL OF US, INDIVIDUALLY! THANK YOU ANDREW! ENJOY!

BRAD HELPS ROY BECOME A MAN

Roy Unger ran away from Utah to keep his family safe. He gets a job working for Ky Archer in Texas, never working as a cowboy or riding a horse. Brad sees Roy as an asset to the ranch. He falls for him but keeps it to himself until after a kiss. Roy tells Brad his problems and they find solutions to keep Brad and his family safe. I like the way Brad leads Roy into discovering his self-worth and the knowledge that he can better his life if he wants.

Great things about Western - morale code. This story has innocence to morale code standing up for oneself - best !

Cowboy Brad left the rodeo and still has challenges to face. Roy rolls in with innocence and stands up and works hard and becomes the cowboy to be proud of. Battles many face are really a great insight within the story! MM Romance Thank you!

Being afraid can help build strength.

All of us are afraid of something, something we don't want to talk about but is just under the surface waiting. It takes time and maybe the help of that one special, someone to help you step out of the darkness and into the Sun light with love and understanding, you can do it because being afraid can help build strength.

A Good Job—a Good Place to Stop!

Roy’s on the run from trouble at home. His new job mucking out horse stalls on Rita and Ky’s ranch has been easy to learn if physically demanding. Enjoy how Brad takes Roy under his wing. In time they find the courage to admit their attraction to each other, face challenges together, and savor fun and steamy moments together!!!

It’s OK

The story starts slow and feels a bit disconnected initially, which is unexpected for a storyline by Andrew Grey. It gets better and ends on a positive note as anticipated. The two previous books in this series help pave the way for this installment which is fortunate.

sweet and gentle

This story struck me as really sweet. The two main characters were so good and gentle with each which one of them sorely needed. The steadfast support the entire cast showed each other was beautiful to see here.

Good story

A bit rushed perhaps but it fits together in the end. This one had a few more typos than usual, but nothing too disruptive. Roy had a lot to deal with, but Brad's support helped him stand up through it all.

Another beautiful story

Andrew has a way with words. Such a beautiful heartwarming story. This one was so emotional and I cried in spots and the HEA was so perfect for these two Cowboys.

Excellent Conclusion

Very much enjoyed the conclusion to Grey's "Nowhere to Ride" series. Each of the characters introduced in Book #1 and #2 show up so we get to learn more about them while being introduced to the two new guys, and others. Well done!

Very good nice plot and good charaters. Although the bad guys could have been made more mean and their story more defined. Still a good read

I found this to be a wonderful slow-paced cowboy romance. While the world and ranch have been set up in the two previous books in this series this actual story and the two heroes totally stand alone and so I strongly feel this story can be picked up and read by itself. I really enjoyed how both Brad and Roy’s characters were multi-faceted. This helped me feel like they were more realistic. I thought the author did an awesome job making both Brad and Roy feel fresh, relatable but also new to me and I loved this.

I’m not keen to delve too deeply into Roy’s past and his troubles, as I found they were different enough it was quite a pleasant surprise when I worked them out while reading the book and I’d hate to spoil that for other readers. Mostly I feel I want to commend the author for making what could have been very tried-and-true, almost trope-like problems turn very slightly and actually end up being something quite different and fresh. I also really appreciated the patience and understanding Brad had for these problems. Instead of just pushing Roy or guilting him into “fixing” everything, Brad slowly coaxed Roy into explaining everything in greater detail and then Brad supported Roy and helped him help himself. I found that really lovely and a good way for the men to become friends and slowly grow something deeper between them.

Readers looking for something intensely erotic or really fast-paced probably won’t find this romance suits their needs, but I personally felt the slower pace really matched both the character’s needs and the situation they were in. A hot and torrid affair wouldn’t have had either man end up happy and so I loved watching them really build something special between them. I’m also curious as to whether one of the other strong secondary characters (Jessup) might end up being the main character in one of the upcoming stories as he certainly seemed to be interesting and complicated enough that I feel perhaps the author was gently foreshadowing something with that brief snippet of storyline.

With a lovely pace, multi-layered and complicated characters and a lovely slow burn to the romance this was a great story and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m eagerly waiting in hope for future installments.
