Battle Crows MC #3

Rattle Some Cages

Rate this book
Book 3 of the Battle Crows MC with Price & Sabrina.

It’s not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body.
Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane.

She’d been sitting next to her dead best friend, who’d passed away on the beach, with no way to get her back home, thanks to the world’s worst luck, and one hell of a storm.

So Price does what any decent person would do: he carries Sabrina’s dead best friend to their beach house and doesn’t leave her side until he’s forced to.

He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking up on her and making sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans.

Despite one hell of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make.

Choose Sabrina, or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.

It was practically love at first sight when Price caught his first glimpse of Sabrina. He knew nothing about her, but she intrigued him. Whether it was a coincidence or some strange sort of luck, when he goes on a family vacation, Sabrina happens to rent the house next door. However, while he's there for fun in the sun, she's there to say a final goodbye to her best friend. And when she's at her lowest, it's Price who helps her pick up the pieces.

I had a lot of problems with this story and that's really saying something because everyone and their mama knows how much I adore this author. While reading it, I kept thinking... this is messy.

For what I think is the first time, I didn't like the heroine. I didn't care about what she was going through, I didn't care about her feelings, and I didn't care if she got her happy ending. The only reason she was even a factor for me is because of Price. I loved this man and was willing to put up with the woman he chose so he could be happy. But it wasn't easy.

My biggest issue with this woman was that she was supposed to be socially awkward and shy, but I didn't really get that. I got a person who made excuses for her problems and did nothing to change them. She kept looking to others for basic things. She seemed to know nothing about life and yet she had a job with the school board. Why didn't she ever seek out some therapy?

She was very judgy, which irked the ish out of me.

"You smoke?"
I looked up from my contemplation of the waves, and what I thought might be a dolphin, to the porch next door.
Bringing the cigarette to my lips, I shrugged. "When I want to."
Which, lately, was a lot.
"Why?"
I thought about her question for a second, then shrugged a shoulder before saying, "Because I want to."
She sighed. "Don't you know that causes cancer?"

No. Really? Well, I've been living under a rock and didn't hear the news. Price is better than me. Why do I smoke? Hmmm... well I don't know you and guess what? Don't ask me stupid questions. Don't question me. Mind your damn business.

She was also nosey, presumptious, and kinda rude. I'm still wondering what she was doing with her life that she put up with her ex for so long. Where was her common sense?

And so, I had to average everything out... such as missing details, my intense dislike of the heroine, dangling plot points, etc., and give this book its due.

Again, I absolutely love this author and will read whatever she pushes out. This just happens to be my least favorite book yet.

I love absolutely all if Lani Lynn Vale characters. The men are ALWAYS baddass, alpha males. This one no different. Funny, quirky females. The story line was good. Great characters. I'm always so sad when the book is over.
Four stars because the female narrator was not that good.

On the day she loses her best friend, Sabrina meets the man who will end up healing her, being her rock, becoming her all. But it won't be immediately because Price has some reckoning to do with himself and his family. He'll need to decide if his happiness is more important than only making everyone else happy first. Will he allow himself to be happy, or once again allow his family's wishes to be more important than his own needs and wants?

Whoo boy but this one is a heartbreaker! It starts off with a punch to the heart and goes from there. Sabrina is lost and her life is falling apart when Price appears like a savior and helps her with her friend who's on the cusp of literally dying. There's an instant connection between them, but after, things don't quite go as expected, and I was hurting for them both, especially Sabrina. But, like most of LLV's heroines, she ends up being strong, a survivor, and she experiences quite a bit of character growth. I loved the way she came into her own, and I knew she was going to get all the good that she deserved. And speaking of good...Price was that for her, no, not good, great, the best thing to ever happen to her, once he figured out his happiness was as important as his family's. I won't spoil about the family, but just know Price finally figured himself out and went and very determinedly claimed his woman, in the very best, most delicious and alpha way as possible. I loved Rattle Some Cages, loved Sabrina and Price together, and am really, really excited for Tide and Coreline's story next, Not a Role Model.

Was not a fan, felt rushed and insanely over the top. I don’t know what it is about this series but I’m not loving it… it all just seems so dramatic but not in the fun way LLV usually writes. Can we just be done with this series? Maybe start a new KPD Swat Generation 3.0?! Idk, just a thought.

It was OK for me. It keep my interest. Though, there was a couple things I had issues.
Cannel... I liked her book but here not so much. I get she been through a lot but... There's being rude and there's being nasty. Cannel was nasty. There was a moment, I thought that Cannel even lied to Price her reason.
And I really wasn't OK, how forgiving Sabrina was. Especially, her reaction after she learned.
I confess, I wasn't a fan of Price actions with Sabrina after Cannel talk. And Sabrinas reaction after Price got his sh¡t together... She was too nice.
There was another moment... Not sure how to explain without giving much. But let's say, when h has issues with something H is doing and he 'fix' it with sex/h gets distracted with it... That just annoying for me.
Aslo, from this moment, I kinda expected more to come later. Maybe it will be added to another book.

Oh this one definitely had my mood swinging hard enough to give me whiplash.

Rattle Some Cages is not for the faint of heart. Just like the previous two books in this new series, Price and Sabrina's book brings hard hitting situations that truly make you feel every emotion.

Sabrina just really had a hard time in this book. Between her lunatic ex, her friends heartbreaking demise and the judgement of those who took me by surprise.. it's safe to say she had an uphill battle but was so deserving of happiness. She was loyal to a fault, self-sacrificing and to sweet for her own damn good.

Price just like his brothers has his alpha bossy surly grump attitude down to a T. He's loyal to a fault, protective and fierce over those he loves. He was tender with Sabrina helping her through her darkest hour giving her the strength to push through even when she thought she couldn't. I couldn't fault his love to her. I loved him.

Their journey wasn't easy and for once it was not them being the obstacle in their way to happy. I must admit when reading and after, something someone told me once rang clear in my mind...

You won't always like the ones you love and that's ok.

I didn't like Cannel in this book. I love her. Don't mistake what I'm saying. But in this book, I did not like what she did or how she went about it.

I still love her though.

It only took a small amount of time to realise they could not stay away. Could not resist the connection that continued to draw them together. They crazy hot chemistry and sweet connection that grew into something so special by the end!. I laughed, I cried, I ranted and raved like a crazy person and in the end loved this rollercoaster.

I am so interested to see where Tide and Coralines story takes us next. This series is a whole lot dark and grittier but it still has all the love and laughter too.

Once again Lani has not failed to nail it and hook me in to this crazy ride!!. Now the wait for the next.

Yep, another hit! And reason #2183796424856935 why Lani Lynn Vale will always be an 'one click', 'must-read' author, Rattle Some Cages took me into one he!l of a ride!

"As much as I love her, she doesn’t need me. I need you, though.”

I knew going in this one would be a bruiser to my heart - I mean, who can stay dried eyed with an intro like that?! -  but I'll be d@mned if Ms. Vale didn't immediately compensate with some light humour, funny family interactions, and later on plenty of steamy romance. That's right, we had it all, and then some, if we consider what LLV throws at poor Sabrina almost by the end. A full workout to my heart, I tell you, and I wouldn't have it any other way, as it was as engaging and entertaining as always!

Over the last couple of days, I’d realized that she was mine. She would be mine forever. Or until I died. Because as far as I was concerned, she would live forever, happy, safe, and healthy.

And sucker that I am for this insta love/lust premise, the fact that Price was mesmerised by just one chance glance, had my hopeless romantic heart soaring! Undeniable connection and this brilliant family dynamic, I'm not only sold on this one, but all the family one, and the teasing about Bram and his wife is ki!ling me... <3 <3 <3 <3

"I love you because you are you.”

"Big biker you may be, but you wear your heart on your sleeve.”

The Crow brothers aren’t friendly or outgoing. The only outgoing and nice one was Cannel and she returned after her year’s captivity changed…not quite so outgoing or nice.

They were infamous in Intercourse, Texas, they were even more exciting as they’d formed a motorcycle club.

Sabrina is with her best friend Faye. It’s only a matter of time before Faye dies. In order to have this little control over her life, rather than be placed in hospice care poked and prodded, her last wish is to visit the beach for the first time.

“I don’t want you to go,” I whispered, thinking she couldn’t hear.
But she did. “I don’t want to leave you but… I want to go.”
“This is paradise,” she whispered, her voice even weaker. “God, no wonder this place was your favorite vacation. I’d want to come here again and again, too.”

Cannel had an encounter with a girl that looked remarkably like Sabrina when she was held in captivity. At the beach around Sabrina, Cannel didn’t react very well. So although he’d like to get to know Sabrina, build something, he can’t. Not when he just got back his sister.

Price (Trinket) found her on the beach with her dead best friend’s hand in hers, hanging out in the middle of a hurricane.
Her best friend had died.
This man currently standing in front of her had carried Faye off the beach.
Through the middle of a hurricane.

Faye’s dying wish was to see the ocean and the beach before she died.
She drove twenty hours to get there. All the while she got weaker and weaker. They got to the beach, and all she kept saying was how she wanted to feel the ocean breeze on her face, and sand between her toes. Holding her hand, she kept talking until the hand grew limp.

They spoke every single day, not a single day went by that they didn’t connect.
“I love you so much, Faye, I don’t know what I’ll ever do without you.”
There was no squeeze this time to her comment. Until that same hand grew cold.
Not until that hand slipped from hers did she finally admit the truth.
Faye Goodstart her only friend had died in the middle of a hurricane on the beach, with a smile on her face.

Price’s promise to Daniel (Sabrina’s father)
“I’ll take care of her like she’s my sister,” I heard him say as I opened the door.
I snorted.
Always with the sister stuff.
What was it with me and men?
Before I’d met Cole, I’d always been the friend. Never the one dated.
That’s why, when Cole actually showed interest in me, I’d been so captivated.
I was the weird witch girl in high school. Then in college, I’d been the girl that studied her ass off to graduate in three years instead of four.
Then, when she started her job at a tech company and worked from home, she’d never needed to make friends at work because I worked from home.
Hence the reason I only had Faye and nobody else.
I’d never needed to make friends.

Sabrina doesn’t do well in crowds or large group gatherings, or in situations where she’s the center of attention. Everyone was staring but silent, intimidating her into fleeing.

Sabrina paid off sixteen thousand dollars on Cole’s vehicle and then eight on his school loans and credit debt at the expense of her car’s dilapidated condition.

At first, Price planned to keep an eye on her ensuring her safety realising he wasn’t able to watch her because she rarely left her house unless it was to go to the supermarket or the fast-food places around the corner.
She didn’t even have a pet that would bring her outside at all, so he bought her a pedigreed cat which caused a serious allergic reaction landing her at the hospital.
Which had started him thinking…could he talk to her online without revealing his identity?
That had been his way onto the Reddit forum, forwarded to him by a good friend when they’d tracked her email address being used, and gotten himself involved in a fake marriage scheme to protect her.

First Faye dies of lung cancer, then the Crow family distances themselves. She finds herself embroiled in Cole accusing her of being his common law wife to gain access to her assets. She must then fake a marriage to Price, her grandfather DS and her father are both diagnosed with cancer. Then Cole tries to murder her.

He hadn’t expected to find him strangling her on the ground with his body straddling hers, with a gun pointed at her head.
Sabrina continued to struggle, but Cole easily overpowered her.
“I don’t know what you’re struggling for you know it’s useless.”
She made a gagging, hoarse sound that let me know that she was trying to speak, but couldn’t.

Her grandfather takes matters into his own hands and ends Cole’s pathetic life.

That same day her grandfather DS quietly dies in his sleep.

SABRINA

“I’m sorry, what?”
Surely, I hadn’t heard him correctly.
Surely.
“I want my dad to check to make sure that you’re still pure,” Cole repeated, confirming that I had, in fact, heard him correctly. I wasn’t hearing things. “I know that this is rather… odd. But this is something that every single female in the history of my family has done on the night before her wedding.”
I blinked.
Then I burst out laughing.
Because surely he had to be joking.
He had to be.
Right?
But nope, the moment that I burst out laughing, Cole’s lips went all pinchy—
But, I kept laughing.
I mean, when I’d met Cole at the age of eighteen, I’d found his vow of celibacy until marriage quite annoying, but doable.
But since Cole meant something to me, I was more than willing to give him everything he asked for.
And I did.
I gave him six years, as well as my promise of waiting until marriage.
“Only if you let my dad look at your a*shole,” I found myself saying, hoping yet again for him to joke right back with me.
Except, he got offended. “What does my butthole have to do with this?”
I literally almost burst out laughing again.
Because he was so offended, in fact, that he had that little line between his eyebrows, indicating that he was even closer to blowing.
I’d been on the receiving end of Cole’s temper before, and I didn’t like it.
Yeah, speaking of my dad…
“I guess I’ll see you later,” I said stiffly.”

“I get to go with you to your chemo treatment tomorrow, at least. You won’t be alone!” I promised.
Which had been another thing that pissed me off with Cole.
“He’d made me choose.
I didn’t want to make that choice.
But I’d had to make it anyway.
Red flags were everywhere.
What the hell was wrong with me?
“About that…” Faye hesitated. “I’m done with chemo.”
My heart leaped into my throat, and excitement started to flood my veins.
“Really?” I cried out. “That’s great news!”
Except, a few seconds after my declaration, I realized that Faye had deflated.
“Faye…”

“It’s bad,” she answered. “I… it’s gotten three times worse in the two weeks since I was last scanned. I’m… I’m done.”
“Faye, no…” I breathed.
“Yes, I can’t anymore, best friend. I’m just so tired.”
“No! You can’t. You have to fight. You promised you would fight.”
A tear escaped down Faye’s face. “There’s fighting… and there’s dying, but only dragging it out longer. I hurt so bad.”
“Oh, no, honey. No.” I wrapped my arms around her. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t want you to feel like you feel right now.”
“How long?” I asked quietly. “How much longer do you have?”
Faye’s beautiful blue eyes lifted to meet mine.
“Weeks. If I’m lucky. Months if I’m not, I want to go to the beach.”
That was going to be hard.
It was the middle of the summer. Every single house that was on the beach was likely booked, and there was no way in hell I was going to get her inside a condo by myself.
“I’m going to look, we’ll get you to the beach if we have to camp in my car to do it.”
Faye smiled. “I knew that I chose good, best friend. I love you.”

What a wild ride! Sabrina is dealing with all the change in this new season of life, where she breaks up with her fiancé and helps her best friend with her dying wish – and then ends up on the beach in the middle of a hurricane without being able to move her to safety. Thankfully, Price’s family is just as crazy as they are and is on the same beach and comes to her rescue. Meeting at such a pivotal point in Sabrina’s life, she latches onto Price even though she can’t figure out why she’s so drawn to him, and he feels the same way. But when Price’s sister makes it clear she isn’t a fan of Sabrina, Price immediately drops her, even though they live in the same town after returning from vacation. Upset but moving forward with her life, she’s bombarded with problems from her ex-fiancé, and unbeknownst to her, Price is still keeping tabs on her and trying to make things better for her, even though that’s not the case. Finally, Price grows a pair and stops fighting the pull he has towards Sabrina, regardless of how his sister feels, and good thing with her past coming back to haunt her. My heart truly broke for Sabrina – it seemed that she just continued to get the bad end of things and when it rained it truly poured with the bad things in her life. I’m so excited to see what’s next with this group of brothers!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Oh LLV what are you doing to us? This one........ so emotional!!

This is the 3rd book in this gripping series and its Price's turn. This brooding man is knocked on his a**e from the minute he sets on the redheaded beauty Sabrina. These two meet in some heartbreaking circumstances and the connection between them is a thing of beauty to watch grow.

Price and Sabrina couldn't be more opposite but together they a perfect match. He gives her strength when she needs it most and she brings the light back into his world.

This is one story that will break your heart in places, full of family, grief, pain, and healing, along with love, passion and humour. That makes this a riveting page turner that will leave you excited for more in this series

Rattle Some Cages had the tears flowing early as Sabrina and Price’s story starts off heavy with the emotions. Their story was filled with hard choices all in the name of love. However these two are drawn to each other and sometimes walking away is not an option. There was witty banter, passion, drama and enough heat to melt the ice caps. Price pulls no punches and at times this takes you by surprise but it might be just what Sabrina needs to hear. As Sabrina’s character grew in this story you went from feeling pity and sympathy for her to admiring the strong woman she becomes. The connection and chemistry that radiates between these two is electric and has you enraptured by it. Another book in this series that has you on the edge of your seat, captivated by the characters and their journey and utterly and irrevocably unable to put their story down.

Bring the kleenex! This story starts out rocky. Price meets Sabrina on the beach during a hurricane when her best friend dies... He does what any decent person would do, he helps her. Price is quite taken with Sabrina. She's a sweetie and so are her father and grandfather. You will hate her ex-fiance. He's a dirtbag. But that keeps this book interesting. Price can't stop thinking about Sabrina even though they went their separate ways after they connected at the beach. I feel like Sabrina just can't catch a break in this book, but Price ends up having her back. Rattle Some Cages was quite the steamy adventure with some serious ups and downs, but I loved it! Don't miss this latest addition to the Battle Crows MC series! 4.5 stars

What is this? (May contain spoilers)

This was horrible and I don’t normally say that about Lani’s books. The female MC was weak and left one controlling relationship to another. There wasn’t much to this one but sex. I read up to the 80% where Trinket wants to have sex in front of his office. For an adult he has no control whatsoever. That was the last straw for me. I don’t care to find out what happens with either one of them. I hope this style of writing isn’t a new trend for Lani Lynn Vale.

Rattle Some Cages starts off super sad! Don't say I didn't warn you! But, after the sad starts the love story. Sabrina is a delightful heroine who has been through a lot. But, she is sweet and kind despite it all. Price is a good guy, but I wanted to reach in the book and slap him sometimes!

There is plenty going on in Rattle Some Cages-danger, pain, high emotions. It provides a fast pace for the story and I think that was great! Lately I have had a hard time getting into books so having a book that was fast paced seemed to really help. I like the characters, and I love Price's family. I LOVED Cannel in her previous book, but she is a bit difficult to love in this one. She has been through a lot, and I can understand her struggle, but she was kind of a bitch. However, Price and Sabrina are soulmates!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

It's not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body. Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane. She'd been sitting next to her dead best friend, who'd passed away on the beach, with no way to her her back home, thanks to the world's worst luck, and one heck of a storm. So Price does what any decent person would do: he carries Sabrina's dead best friend to their beach house and doesn't leave her side until he's forced to. He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking upon her and make sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans. Despite one heck of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can't stop thinking about he, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make. Choose Sabrina, or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.

This is the third book in the Battle Crows MC Series from Lani Lynn Vale. Each of the books can be read as a standalone but they are so good and the characters interconnect that you don't want to miss the ones in front of Rattle Some Cages.
This book starts off with a bang and I don't mean the good kind of bang. I mean the one that has you reaching for a Kleenex and having your emotions flying all over the place. Sabrina is a young lady who is entering a new phase of her life. She has broken up with the man she was to marry and that's a huge change to begin with. But she also promised her very best friend in the world that she would help her with her dying wish. This is how she ends up on a beach in the middle of a hurricane. There is a huge problem though. She needs to move her best friend to safety so that nothing happens to her body, now that she is gone and she can 't do it by herself. As fate would have it though Price and his family are on the beach at the same time and the first time he sees Sabrina she is sitting next to what he would learn is her best friend who has passed away and he helps her get her where she needs to be. There is no denying the attraction between Price and Sabrina but I was so very worried that while she would need someone, they couldn't have met at a worse time. These two are so perfect for each other but like a nosey mean sister Price's does not like Sabrina and he can't have that so he stops seeing her and my heart was a mess again. Now Sabrina is trying her best to do like while problems pop up like little wildfires all over the place. She has not a clue that Price is still keeping an eye on her. But will these two every be able to get it together and be what they so deserve to be and have together? You have to read and find out. I thought they had a really amazing story to tell and I devoured every single past of this book. I can't wait to see whose story we get next in this series. I am super addicted to al the books in this one.

5 Her World Was Crumbling Around Her Stars!

Once again, Lani Lynn Vale has written a story that gave me so many emotions. I mean I was crying within the first couple of chapters for goodness sake. I was really hoping that I wasn’t going to cry all the way through the book… and thank goodness the moments of tears were few after these first couple of chapters.

I freaking loved Price and Sabrina’s story. It’s a little different from other books that she’s written as there isn’t nearly the amount of suspense but just the right amount that goes with Sabrina and how she and Price met. We get to see a little bit more into Price’s family, especially with his sister Cannel who really influenced a lot of Price’s decisions for obvious reasons. But there comes a point that Price just can’t stand to be away from the girl that has invaded every bone of his body. So what’s a man to do, but go after the girl and pay the consequences with his family later.

Oh Sabrina, this girl is unique and quirky and socially awkward and I adore her! Her whole world changes one day on the beach, the day she met Price and he’s a huge part of her healing. Not only is she healing from the loss of one of the most important people in her life, but she’s got a crazy Ex that is completely whacko!! But that doesn’t mean Price isn’t going to make her his!

There’s a fabulous slow burn to Price and Sabrina coming together and I was right there for the build up and the consummation of their relationship. LLV didn’t hold back with these two and there were moments of such heat, that I had to turn my fan on because holy smokes…. Sizzling hot!!! But there’s so much more to this couple, her remaining family and his large family. We get to learn a little bit more about what the Battle Crows do but it’s not a focal point of this story. Let’s just say, there was a moment that I was cheering thanks to one of their actions!!

This story is about insta-love but in a slow burn kind of way. Price and Sabrina are perfect for each other because they complete each other, quirks and all. She’s everything he never he thought he needed and he’s her protector, lover and best friend being there for her in the most painful moments as well as the best moments of her life!! I highly recommend this book and this series!!

Price Crow has alway been a loner, there are things that he can't stand and things he won't put up with, but when he gets to see the most beautiful woman he has ever seen he can't think of anything else but her and seeing her.

Sabrina has finally seen the red flags for what they were, once blinded she now has her eyes wide open, with the fate of her only best friend fighting for her life, Sabrina makes the decision to give her the best last part of her life, even if it ends soon than either of them realize. Stranded during a hurricane with her best friend, her fate will soon be sealed by the most infuriating man she has ever met, her dark knight to the rescue. But can Sabrina overcome being the meek little woman people think she is, or can she withstand the storm that is fixing to bowl over her life.

“The World would never Accommodate me. Even if there were people that were supposed to.” Sabrina

Is it possible that Sabrina and Price were meant to be but their paths crossed and they never really knew what was at stake for them, or was this just a fleeting chance to find someone to help them through the pain of everyday life?

I have read a few of Lani’s books and this one captured me pretty quickly. Everything flowed perfectly into one seamless story that takes you on a journey of loss, love and heartbreaking decisions that have confounded meaning behind them. Although this is labeled a MC book, it doesn't really deal with MC life, it just touches on it briefly. I wish there was more to the Battle Crows MC life in and of itself. But overall I did enjoy this book.

Lani Lynn Vale is still one of my top authors and Rattle my Cages is more proof of how much talent she has . This is book three in the Battle crows series it can be read as a standalone but you will run into some minor spoilers if you haven't read the previous books also if haven't read Chalk dirty to me . Sabrina and Price were amazing together they shard intense chemistry with some really steamy scenes that will really get your motors reaving . Sabrina is such a lovable heroine I really liked her my heart broke for what she was going through and just how brave she was to start to put herself out there I connected to the character and felt her insecurities some of the scenes I was like girl same . Price wow this guy was just WOW he did make me made a couple of times Like it was understandable why he did what he did but still so glad he woke up and realized he really couldn't stay away . The secondary characters as usual are amazballz some of them shocked me a bit mainly a character I wish would have explained more of why she reacted the way she did but over all I need me some more Crow brothers also need to know Brams story the mystery is slowly killing me . I highly recommend that you read this authors books they are well worth a super binge you don't want to miss them .

Oh this one played with my emotions, so perfectly.

Sophia and Price’s connection is instantaneous- though they can’t be together because of extenuating circumstances; but only Price knows this, not Iris.

After having Price’s support in one of the darkest moments of her life, Sophia is heartbroken to find Price gone from her life, like he was never there. But has he?

Trust me, the angst in this one was *chef’s kiss*

Read it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Sabrina was having a pretty rotten day when she first met Price Crow. Having broken up with her jerk of an ex fiance a few days earlier, Price finds her mourning the loss of her best friend, Faye, on the beach in the middle of a hurricane. There when she needs him most, Sabrina feels a connection, only to have Price ghost her once they arrive back in their hometown.

Price Crow fell immediately for Sabrina Proctor. But, when he discovers his sister Cannel is triggered by her presence reminding her of her time in captivity, Price tries to do right by his family, leaving himself and the woman he is falling for completely miserable. But, when push comes to shove, Price will need to make a choice.

Ohhhh Lani, this was a real roller coaster of emotions from the first few pages. Sabrina was truly put through the wringer emotionally in this book. And, while she is a strong woman, what she was going through was enough to break anyone. I adored her and Price together and could not wait for him to get his head out of his behind to do the right thing by Sabrina!

Rattle Some Cages had a few fun Easter eggs that bring back to the Souls Chapel Revenants which was really fun. I also really enjoyed that most of this book really centered around the people and their relationships. Yes, there is some crazy as in every LLV book as well as a bit of action, but it was the constant barrage of emotional highs and lows that made Rattle Some Cages stand out. 4.5 stars!

Rattle Some Cages is Book 3 in Battle Crows MC series by Lani Lynn Vale. This is Price aka Trinket and Sabrina's story. Let me say that this book starts off really sad. That's how our main characters meet... then the story gets going. The chemistry between Price and Sabrina is sizzling and real. Each are dealing with their own things when they meet, Sabrina's is more heavy and profound. They instantly connect yet because of something that happened to Price's sister, he lets Sabrina go. The love story is now more a slow burn. We are shown why Price is willing to sacrifice his love for Sabrina for his sister. During this time Sabrina is being harrassed by her ex- fiancee (can we say stalker much) and she still has feelings for Price. As the slow burn gives way to that attraction/insta-love that was there from their 1st glance. This book has drama, passion, angst, secrets, twists, chemistry, heat, feels, sadness, romance and HEA. Can't wait for book 4!

My Rating: 4.5 stars ********

Bang! Right from the start LLV has the heroine on an emotional roller coaster. A horrible and weird fiancé thankfully she doesn’t marry, her best friend deciding not to continue with chemo treatment and the hurricane where she was helpless to move her friend from the beach. I was bawling!
Then in typical LLV style our heroine is just hit with tragedy after tragedy! Then the ex won’t take no for an answer and you get all the OTT drama that only LLV writes!

Although I’d be testing the environment in Intercourse, Texas cause how much cancer can one person have affect their life?! I’m sure there are other terminal illnesses you can have or just have the ex and grandpa off each other rather than compound the cancer trope...

This hero was all that although I am surprised right at the start he was lecturing about not having to consider other people’s triggers that they should mind their own ie get over it. He then proceeds to not trigger his sister by staying away from the heroine because she reminded his sister of something that occurred while she was kidnapped. We have to watch the say one thing but act in the exact opposite way unless the author intended him to have this flaw? Anyway, I needed an LLV drama riddled book including the crying from the start 🙃

Sabrina Proctor ends her engagement and loses her best friend in the matter of days. Price Crow happens upon Sabrina in the middle of a hurricane and grieving for her friend who is by her side. Price is drawn to Sabrina, she is different and he is a man who doesn't mince words nor tolerate a lot but with Sabrina he is intrigued. The problem is he he knows he needs to stay away, he tries, boy does the try but it gets to be too much before Price makes a decision that will change everything.

This is a tear jerker. Price was fascinating and so hard in some ways but with Sabrina he is intensely focused on her. This series just keeps getting better and better. I am definitely intrigued by a couple of the people introduced in this book and anxious for the next in series.

I so want to love this series and for me Lani is an automatic one click author but I’m struggling and it doesn’t seem to be just me. I find the whole series a bit rushed and unbelievable. As a nurse the idea of taking someone that close to death down to the. Beach and then having them die with no notice was unlikely to say the least. I find Cannel extremely difficult to relate to and just a bit of a pain to everyone and she keeps popping up. Main characters are not my favourite. I’m really sorry but I’m looking forward to the next series . I say this as a fan who has just had a major reread of several previous series. Maybe Lani needs a break she works so hard.

TW//CW: death, cancer, hospice

I hope I got all of the triggers, because this author definitely won't do them. How do I know? This book has a small rant about triggers at the beginning. This author really has a habit of inputting her personal beliefs like this into her books, even though I'm sure she thinks she doesn't do it. This book is a grief sandwich. It begins with the death of her friend, and ends with another death.

This series just keeps getting better and better. No 2 couples have been the same. And the way that each of meet are never the same either. I just love that. I have noticed that the subject matter of this series has been a little darker than past series, and I'm here for it. The Crow men are just that, they all live in the dark.

The first few chapters of this book broke my heart and that ache stayed with me through the story as we see more of Sabrina and what Smurf issues were I couldn’t help but devour the book. I loved Price for her. I loved seeing not only his gruff side but also that sweet man that he was for her. Now there were times again LLV broke my heart but in one main moment, it made all that sadness worth it. The love declarations are always my favorite in books and this one was just perfect. Now, I really need the next book, and Brams book! Still way excited for that one too! 5 stars #2OCCJD

Porque esta serie mata a todos sus personajes? 👀
Si bien empezó mal mal (para mi gusto) este libro fue el que más disfrute.
