Do you see that woman holding a foreclosure notice in her hand and a screaming toddler at her feet? She doesn’t look happy, does she? Spoiler alert: she’s not. And it has nothing to do with the peanut butter and jelly sandwich she found in her couch cushions this morning, or that fact that her kid’s favorite words is c$. I’ll let you put the letters with the rest of that word, but, to fully to understand my frustration, you have to go back two weeks. That’s when my husband of six years died of a heart attack. And I’m not sad about it. Before you go thinking I’m an emotionless shit, understand that I was sad. Was being the key word. You see, dear friends, in those fifteen days since my husband died, I’ve met his girlfriend, who’s befriended me and to top it all off, it turns out, infidelity wasn’t the only thing he’s guilty of. He hadn’t paid our bills in four months. Now I’m forced to rent out the room above our garage. But there’s a hitch. The guy that rents it? My one-night stand from the night I found out my deceased husband had been cheating on me. The problem? He’s a college baseball player. And let me tell you, sister. Cason Reins, his name should come with a surgeon general warning. He’s everything I don’t need in my life. Not only does he walk around shirtless, have a dirty mind, but his bat… it’s… wooden. No, seriously, it is wooden, but that’s not the worst part, other than him befriending my toddler? He knows how to throw a curve ball. He wants to… gulp. Date. Me. Now what the hell am I supposed to do?

This was such a fun read! Sydney's world turned upside down and she is figuring out her life with her daughter Tatum. Screwed over by her husband who died, she is navigating everything thrown her way as best as she can. She doesn't really need this cocky, hot as heck, popular college baseball player named Cason hanging around even though he wants to realllly hang around. He’s destined to play for the major leagues, breaking records, crossing his fingers for the draft. Bit of an age gap, not by alot though but, it worked! These two were so good together! You could feel their chemistry right from the start and love for each other as the story went on.
Seriously though, Cason, he had me swooning. I loved being in his thoughts and he is sooo in love with his girl and he absolutely adores Sydney's daughter, Tatum. Fun characters and the supporting cast worked soo well together. I breezed through this book easily. While there were entertaining fun moments in this book, there also were also somewhat sort of heavy moments concerning her dead husband. I do recommend this book!
„Room 4 Rent” is a one of the lastest books I've read in this year. This story was the great unknown for me, because I didn't know what I will meet in this title.
Older woman, younger men. Finally age gap in different way. Sidney is a single mom, who found with hers husband death that he was cheating on her a long time ago. When she mets Cason Reins, she conquers to be a little crazy and one night stand in the end turns out a long term friendship.
I really like stories written by Shey Stahl. Why? Because she writes about normal problems in her books. I mean hers heroes don't have billions on their accounts and don't ride expensive cars. They are normal, like us. And they have normal problems in their life. This is something what makes Shey Stahl different from others authors.
The story of Cason and Sydney is like story about forbidden love. I was in this book from the first chapter and I can't put it out while reading. „Room 4 Rent” is one of this story, which makes you a true bookworm. You will sit with this book until you end their story.
„Room 4 Rent” is a perfect story for this winter time. Tatum, 3 years old daughter of Sydney and her attitude to Cason will melt Yours hearts. This book is a perfect pretty reading and I recommend it.
I really liked the writing style and the story. This was the first book from this author and definitely not the last. But what I didn't like was the way the daughter of the heroine talked. The age appropriateness of the language was so far off the realm of possibility - she said things that are not possible for three year old to even think, much less say. But to make matters worse, one sentence later, she was baby-talking again. I literally had to shut my eyes and breathe deeply, and keep going, because the story was good.
Sydney’s world gets turned upside down when her husband suddenly dies in a car accident, leaving her to parent their 3-year old daughter, Tatum, alone. What’s more, Sydney learns that not only did her husband spend their life savings, putting their house into foreclosure, but he was cheating on her with another woman, too. So what’s a woman to do when she learns all this? Yup, she gets drunk. And that’s how Sydney ends up in bed with college baseball player, Cason. He’s everything her husband wasn’t and although she knows it’s all wrong, Sydney can’t help herself from having the best one night stand of her life.
So when Sydney is forced to rent the room above her garage to save her house, the last thing she expects is Cason back on her doorstep to rent the room. Sydney knows Cason being so close will be nothing but trouble. Yet she says yes anyway, saying yes to more than just the room..
Room 4 Rent by Shey Stahl is a hilarious single mom, age-gap romance. I loved Sydney’s character so much. She was so dang funny and her commentary about motherhood and parenting were pure gold. Cason felt a little flat to me for a lot of the book because I felt like Sydney was the star. He was great with Tatum and had that sweetheart meets dirty mouth thing going for him, but I wish we had more of his backstory like we did Sydney’s. Overall, I really enjoyed this romance and it was a lot of fun! 4/5 stars.
Room 4 rent was such a fun read. The characters were so much fun, and the flow was amazing. Sydney is exactly how the kind of mom I am, and I can relate to her so much. Cason is exactly the what Sydney needs and nothing that she wants, and the pull just draws you in from page 1. And Tatum... I adore her! This one was so well written and the flow is so effortless. I was hooked from page 1 and definitely felt the sadness when it was done. I absolutely recommend Room 4 Rent!
Such a fantastic read, Cason and Sydney amazing characters, these two are so good together, and then their is Tatum, who is an absolute sweetheart. Once again it’s book you just can’t put down. Lots of fun but also real feelings involved. Fantastic! Highly recommend.
Bittersweet loved this book!!! So glad Cason got his room 4 rent and Sydney got her grand slam. Tatum was full of jellybean laughs. Needed more as always Shey Stahl♥️
Hello sexy baseball player. Steamy and real, with interesting characters and a romance story that had me guessing throughout the book if this is really going to work or not but the author has managed to make it happen in the best possible way. Add in all the great banter and chemistry and let’s not forget the epilogue, I was all set up for a great afternoon with a contemporary romance that many lovers of the genre will enjoy.
This was quick and witty. Great characters. Cason aka Boy, falls in love with a single mom and her totally awesome child. I will say Loretta is probably my favorite child ever. Cason and Sydney have chemistry and bring the heat with steamy scenes that are sure to please.
I loved Room 4 Rent, and so will you. I highly recommend reading it, it is the perfect steamy romantic comedy to curl up with. The two main characters are great and likeable. The story jumps right into the plot. It pulled me right in from the first page and I was sad to see it all come to an end. The chemistry between Cason and Sydney is off the charts. And I really enjoyed Sydney's daughter's character as well. You will find yourself laughing out loud as read the story. I have to say Sydney is a better women than I am, her husband dies suddenly and if that was not enough she finds out he was cheating on her and had not been paying their bills in some time so not only had grieve the lost of her husband but the life she thought she was living. All the while trying to figure out how to move forward and stay in her home. Cason is the super hot and sexy college baseball player who rents the room above Sydney's garage however this is not their first encounter they just had what they thought was a one night stand. You will not be disappointed, I promise.
This was such a fun read! I love the fact that Sydney is such a good mom and really doesn't stress when it comes to Tatum who is a hoot and a typical toddler. There were many times that I just burst out laughing at her antics. Sydney is such a strong woman that has been done wrong by her scummy husband but she is strong enough to make it through and sort of befriend her husbands young mistress. Cason is just what she needs in her life and it shows that her being older is just a thing and not a big deal to him.
Cason is so funny and determined to get his way but he does it in a way that is sweet and fun. The relationship with him and Tatum is so heartwarming because he is the daddy she did not have and he did not have to be. Cason has his own baggage but like Sydney he does not let it be what defines him.
This is another awesome book by Shey. I love reading her books and hope there is another in this series.
I’ve been on a Shey Stahl binge.. sorta, I’ve been having trouble grasping a book lately but this quick read was quite adore
The characters were slow in the beginning and then when things started to pick up it was to rushed. The little girl was so adorable and very accurate to a three year old that it was actually funny!
Sydney is a mom, and if your a mom your a mess. If you aren’t your not doing it right 🤷🏽♀️ Her phone bill is shut off, her card gets declined but that’s all because of her husband.. while at a coffee shop she meets Cason and he pays her her coffee
A few days go by and her husband death takes a toll financially because she finally understands why none of there bills were paid and he’s been having affair and the girlfriend befriends her!!
A fun, fan-freakin-tastic read, that’s what this was. I laughed, I cried then I laughed some more, I’ll be honest I even wee’d a little, Room 4 Rent has taken the top spot as my favourite read by the talented Ms Stahl.
We meet Sydney and her adorable daughter Tatum just as their world is being turned upside down, her husband has died in a car accident and as if that’s not bad enough she learns of his reckless ways with money which has left her with next to nothing and in danger of losing her home there’s also the fact that he was being unfaithful, now she’s just trying to do the best she can for herself and Tatum. An afternoon drinking session with her sister, best friend and her husbands bit on the side leads to an impromptu night out where she meets the sexy, cocky, hot baseball player Carson, she’d briefly met him before when he’d came to her rescue by paying for her coffee only this time it’s a lot more than coffee she gets from him, it’s the hottest night of her life, and what she thought would only be a one night stand soon becomes so much more when he ends up renting the room above her garage. Not only does he take up room above her garage it doesn't take Carson long to worm his way in and take up room in not only her heart her daughters too, but the feeling’s mutual, Sydney and Tatum soon become his everything, but can he have them both and a successful baseball career?
Omg this book is freaking phenomenal and it hits it right out the park for a top 2020 read. I swear this book had me laughing within just the first few paragraphs and it made it one of those books that you just can't put down. Omg I absolutely loved every freaking character in this book and didn't want it to end. If you know Shey and her writing style then you know she can weave her magical genius and take a very emotional topic and infuse her craziness of humor that lightens the subject and leaving you smiling at the end. I don't know what kind of witchcraft she has inside of her, but her books are so amazing and you get so many different emotions in just one book. This is easily top five of best reads of 2020 for me. I'm not even going to go into each of these amazing characters and just say grab this book because its just that good. I cannot wait to see what she brings in 2021 because she just brought 2020 down with an epic hit on this one! Highly recommend this book if you want something that will give you all the feels and make laugh like a lunatic at the same time.
was given this book as an ARC and honestly was a little worried I'd be disappointed. I am usually not one to enjoy older women, younger man romance but this book hit it out of the park for me. Shey has such a way with words that I feel like she could write a grocery list and I would love it! To this date I have read and loved every single book from her.
Sydney has been one of my favorite characters to date. The things she deals with are so real and relatable that it honestly made me fall in love with this book. Room 4 rent is a must read no matter which genre you typically read. It is relatable to anyone. Great job again. Shey!
I won't rate it because I skimmed but I couldn't fathom that the h became friends with the mistress. Not only that but that she doesn't accept her husbands life insurance money back from her because of pride. Remi aka the OW was not a victim but a willing participant. The fact that the hs husband was so despicable that he actually changed his life insurance money to go the mistress instead of his daughter is just so disgusting. Idk how she looks at that woman let alone went into business with her.

A re-read for sure! If you enjoyed Shey’s Racing series, then you will LOVE this book! The relationships between the characters are very similar and very funny. I fell in love with all the characters not just Cason, Sydney and Tatum. Baseball players are sexy in their own right but you add in the fact that he loved a single mother and her little girl…. swoon! I devoured this book, like in a few hours. I was devastated that it was over and keep stalking Sheys page for hopes of more. I always say that Shey has a way of making you feel like you are one of the characters in the book and this was no different. I cannot wait for the next book from Shey no matter what it is!
Room4rent by shey Stahl was absolutely out of this world. This was her best yet. Sydney as her world turned up side down. Finding out about her late husband cheating and putting her in financial ruin. Sydney is a single mother to a cute 3 year old. She meets cason a young baseball college student. Cason is great guy who also had his heart broken. He is so good to Sydney and her daughter. You want to know what happens then pick up a copy today. Kbsblogging and reviews.
I all of a sudden LOVE baseball players! I absolutely adored this book. It had me hooked from the 1st page. Sydney is so relatable and a hot mess as a mom, so I adored her from the start. Cason is exactly what Sydney needed but never wanted. Then, throw in Tatum, and I feel love with the feisty little girl and she truly made the whole book. R4R is a fun, easy read. It's hilarious and witty, and I highly recommend it!

Loved their story I wish there was more, I really didn't want it to end 😊 Grab a glass of your favorite mama juice and get ready to laugh and cry and just fall in love with this story! ❤ Shey you hit a home run with this baby 💙
Shey knocked this book out of the park! Lookout book boyfriends, Cason is a top contender. I loved the characters in this book. And Tatum, that girl will make you laugh! I had so much fun reading this story and was sad to have it end. 105 mph, that’s how fast I flew through this book, it’s definitely a page turner!
Sydney and Cason surprised me! I wasn’t so sure about college baseball player. But man did Cason blow me away! Especially with Tatum! That little girl just made me lol so much! She is a riot!
I felt so so bad for all that Sydney was going thru. I wanted Cason to break her walls down and he sure didn’t disappoint!
Whew, another homerun for shey stahl. This book is a great read it will have you laughing with the characters antics and wanting more by the end!! Cason and Sydneys stories dont start out the typical way you will have to read this to find out. I could not put it down after I started reading. Looking forward to a new year and many books from Shey.
Shey Stahl has done it again!! Amazing read with endearing, laugh out loud characters!! Shey’s story telling ability is one of the beast!! Her words just flow and make everything she writes so easy to read!! Always leaves you wanting more and this story does just that!! Just wanna follow Cason and Sydney thru their lives seeing how their quirky little family lives out all their days!!!
Wow, just wow! Love Sydney and Cason’s story. If I could give it 10 stars I would it’s the best book ever makes you laugh makes you cry and makes you so angry you want to hit some thing. All those things make just a great book and so much like life. The only thing missing was how Sydney Told Karen her son is a douche. This reminds me so much of the racing on the edge series in the way the characters all work together and embrace the crazy. More Shey we need more...soon!!
Age is just a number and a couple years isn't a big deal.....well...unless your married and the college guy behind you in line pays for your coffee bc you can't for unknown reason. It's not exactly flirting but... Shey hit a homerun with this heartfelt story of love, loss, and rebuilding.
I am 28 this month and a mom. This book was so easy to relate to, not on every aspect of their lives but in many ways! The book draws you in from page one! I am still new to loving baseball but I can tell she did her homework!! So fun to fall in love with another couple from Shey! I think I say this every time shey releases a new book, but this is my new favorite!! It’s a page turning, tear jerking must read! You hit a home run right out of the park with this one!!
