Amazon.com #1 in Cozy Mystery, Mystery Anthologies, and Private Investigator. ‘Reading this series is like coming home to a cozy town with all the southern fun, gossip and good friends to help scratch our meddlin' ways to solve a good whodunit crime.'
When Mae West finds herself penniless and with a rundown campground in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Park in her name, she's on a mission to sell it... … finding herself as the number one suspect in her ex-now dead-husband's murder forces her and her new found friends to put on ameateur sleuthing caps to find the real killer.
If you would've told me year ago that I was going to be broke and penniless after my husband took everyone to the cleaners after he pulled off one of the biggest Ponzi schemes, leaving me a run down campground, a set of camper keys, before he escaped prison and when the FBI came to the campground to see if I helped him escape, then the no good you know what floated up to the top of the lake in that campground making me the number one suspect, I'd said you were lying.

ALL of the books in this series are fantastic! I have read every one of them...I can't wait for the next one. Mae West owns Happy Trails Campground and has a reputation for finding bodies. The town of Normal, Kentucky (where the campground is located) is a small town in a scenic area. Mae has Dottie as her campground manager and she is a hoot! A group of ladies (The Laundry Club Ladies is what they call themselves since they meet at the local laundromat downtown) are all friends and get together to help solve the crimes. The cast of characters is so much fun and the stories are interesting. I highly recommend these books to everyone!
I've read books 1-20 in a row, without stopping to read books from other authors that I had been waiting for! I simply could not put down any of the 20 books until I was finished with the first 20, and have promised myself that I will read the other 10+ books of this series in the coming days or weeks. Tonya's stories are filled with grammatical errors, but because of the Southern Twang she uses in her writing, the reader skims right over all the mistakes! I wish her books weren't between $2 and $3 more than all other authors I read, but I will just keep borrowing from Kindle Unlimited!
The mysteries are exciting, intriguing, and keep me guessing. The author introduces potential suspects, providing the reader with means, motive, and opportunities for each. There are twists and turns that have me going in one direction only to have the mystery shift. The author does a great job building up the suspense in each story, all the way up until the reveal of the murderer and motive. A
Also, each book's mystery isn't the only thing going on in Normal, Kentucky. Tonya Kappes does a wonderful job of weaving everything together in each story.

Great cozy mystery series with family, friendship, romance and humor! Mae West owns Happy Trails Campground and her best friends are the Laundry Club Ladies. She is dating (in all but 2 books) Hank Sharp who was a Park Ranger, Detective, Sheriff and Private Investigator. I love this series! #Camper&Criminals
Mae in her laundry club ladies never seems to amaze me of how they figure out things and keep their life going together as friends. What a sense of humor they have also with me reading I’m trying to remember who was who But the story line in the ending keeps me trying to figure out who is the mystery murder.
In a way, I would hate (maybe that’s too strong a word) to live in Normal, Kentucky. Doesn’t seem like there would be any survivors left in town after all the murders! After finishing 20 of these stories I have to realize these stories are great and mostly unsolvable until the end. Best part about them….they ARE FICTION!
I'm honestly not sure how there are so many good reviews. This series was a disappointment. It's almost like there were multiple authors... or that the author can't keep track of her past stories and characters. For example the pearl thing. The characters weren't consistent and artitudes seemed to get worse as the series went on. Nice plot idea but fluff and sadly a waste of good reading time.
I have ready so many of Tonya’s cozies and love her character development. At this point I feel like these are real people I’d like to meet and hang out with! The Camper and Criminals books are a great place to start and I think you’re going to love them and Tonya as much as I do!
Tonya Kappes' books always keep me laughing, interested in the next escapade, and trying to figure out who done it. I can't wait to see what is in store for Mae and Hank and the Laundry Ladies Club!
Each book kept my interest and was fast paced enough to never be boring! I love that they are set in the great state of Kentucky which is where I was born and lived my entire lufe.😄
I have read all 20 of the books in the series. The storyline and the characters are wonderful. I was beginning to wonder if the town would be able to survive if any other more locals were killed. No fair leaving me hanging with the love interest
I love this series, not serious, just fun reading. Read the first 20 books. Yep 20, they come in a group of ten on Amazon. Now off the read the next 10. Enjoy!
