An outlaw dragon rider and her band of rebels must find a way to defeat an army….
The Aurium lied in order to get a foothold in the realm of Ragond, creating a plague and putting all dragons at risk before they magically appeared at the last moment to fix it. Young dragon rider Kira is determined to reveal their treachery and stop them from doing any further damage to her people.
The question is, how can she do that when the Council is being controlled by evil magic, and General Ignatius has everyone convinced that Kira is their enemy? The general’s own son is on Kira’s side, however, ready to fight to defend Ragond and stop more dragons from getting hurt. The only way to free the Council is to get rid of General Ignatius’s succubae lackeys, but getting close enough to make a move is risky.
To bring down the general, Kira and her friends will need to rally troops who have no reason to trust her, and unite forces who have always been at odds. But how can she succeed against a scheme that started before she was born? She must find a way, though, because if she fails, there will be nothing stopping the Aurium from destroying Ragond.
Ava Richardson writes epic page-turning Young Adult Fantasy books. She creates lovable characters and drops them into intricate worlds that are barely contained within your eReader. Ava has written 21 YA dragon fantasy series, including her bestselling series Return of the Darkening and her recent series, Destia's Dragon Shifter War.
She grew up on a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction books handed down from her two big brothers – and despite being dog-eared and missing pages, she loved escaping into the magical worlds that those authors created. Her favorites were the ones about dragons; where they’d swoop, dive and soar through the skies of these enchanted lands.
Kira is fighting for the realm of Ragond which is heading for certain destruction by the Aurium. They used lies and treachery to gain access to Ragond through creation of a deadly plague to put the dragons at risk. Then they swooped in and saved everyone, but that wasn’t the end of it. Now dragon rider Kira is trying desperately to find a way to reveal their treachery and stop them. But her youth works against her in convincing anyone. And how can she get to the Council when it is being controlled by evil magic while General Ignatius convinces them Kira is their enemy?
This is her last attempt. Kira will need to risk everything to succeed, or there will be no help left for her beloved land.
You won’t want to miss this exciting wrap-up where the good-guys have to give their all against a powerful enemy. Can they do it? Can Kira’s final plan stop the enemy and save the realm? Action at its best, you won’t want to miss this one.
This is book three of the Reaping of Ragond series and sees Kira, now a fugitive and wanted outlaw by the Council of Ragond and General Ignatius of the Aurium, hiding out in the woods with her fellow rebels and looking for ways to stop the General’s plans to drain all the magic from Ragond. The Arium have lied to the Council leaders about their true reason for being in Ragond and are using their advanced technology and a supposed dangerous foe to fool them all. Kira and her dragon Gilda are the only ones that managed to stop their strange machines that plagued all of the dragons in the realm, making them lose colour and strength and eventually die. The General managed to get his scientists to develop another plague machine and tested it on Gilda and Kira, before they managed to escape and damage it on their way out. Now he has an even more powerful one that Kira cannot shield the dragons from this time and he has experimented on Rune, Zephyr’s dragon. Zephyr is so brainwashed by the General’s secret weapon of two sister succubae, who can control the minds of everyone they can see, that any attempt to talk to her is met with a fog of confusion and no understanding of what is really happening. Somehow, Kira and the rebels need to break the hold these two sisters have on the Council members and allow them to see the truth of what the Arium are really after, before the whole of Ragond is drained of magic. General Ignatius has already destroyed numerous worlds in his attempts to save his own homeworld, needing the magic of each place to be siphoned off and sent to heal his own planet. Unfortunately, nothing has ever been enough. Although he has superior technology and a large force of highly trained soldiers, Ragond has a lot more magic users than he has ever come across before. The new academy the Arium built allows them to learn the full extent of Ragondian and Mythoi magic, how it is used, its limitations and even how to circumnavigate it, useful to know when you want it all for yourself! Kira needs to rally the rebels who have followed her, all from different places and with varying beliefs, to make them believe in her leadership, even if she makes mistakes along the way. She has friends in her team who offer advice and she isn’t afraid to ask for help, which helps make her a better leader than some. They have to grab the two sisters and stop their mind control hold on the Council, but then find out there is more to the General’s plans and he needs a certain rare ore to power something that will bring down all of Ragond, at some event he has planned where everyone will be in attendance. No plan ever goes exactly right and the General has his own plans and knows where they will try to attack, leaving him with an advantage. If Kira and her fellow rebels don’t succeed, Ragond will face the same fate as all the other realms he has destroyed in trying to restore his own world. A huge underground prison system brings about some huge surprises for all. Kira fears she cannot be the type of leader she wants to be as she finds her magic doesn’t allow her to hurt others, in their battle to save their world, but she will soon find out that healing magic will win out over destructive magic every time. An epic conclusion to this series with lots of problems for the young rebels to contend with, as well as heartache and injuries, as they battle to save their way of life. Kira and Gilda's adventures continue, and they are facing their fiercest adversary yet.
General Ignatius will stop at nothing in his misguided fight to save his homeworld, even at the expense of a world that has welcomed him and his fellow Aurium. Kira is locked in a battle for the survival of her planet and people and needs to lead her small band of rebels in daring and dangerous exploits. The Ragond Council is under the control of General Ignatius and swiftly announces Kira and her band as traitors to Ragond.
Reunited with her mother, Kira has to deal with torture, the loss of a beloved friend and at the same time grow into the rebel leader needed by her supporters. At the same time, she has to figure out some way to free the Council from Aurium influence and stop the plan to drain the magic from her land.
I love the way we are drawn into the conflict and take every step with Kira and her band of rebels. Of course, she makes mistakes, but she does learn from them and her interaction with Gilda, Lysander and her best friend Chevalis is humorous and endearing in equal quantities.
Fiercely loyal to her band, Kira has to learn the hard lessons about leadership but she does so and grows both as a person and a leader.
There is plenty of action both in the air and on the ground and an interesting friendship develops which will help in the fight against the Aurium. Twists and turns in the plot and surprising allies make this an excellent story. I struggled to put this book down but at the same time didn't want it to finish.

This series wraps up to a great, happy conclusion, as Kira and her band of rebels throw out all they have to save Ragond and themselves. The overall storyline is one of greed and survival, where some will go to any length to achieve an unatainable goal, even if it means destroying everything else in their path. It was an easy read, although I did find the pace slower than the previous 2 books in the series. Quite a chunk of the book focused on preparing for the various ensuing battle, as well as Kira's insecurity, but just my interest was waning, it suddenly piqued again and then had me all over again. I found the characters lovely and extremely likeable, especially Lysander, whose conviction that his father has erred, has him fully in the rebels camp. Kira rises to the occasion brilliantly, even though time after time, her plans and actions fall apart, her resilience comes across well. But for me, the Dragons are the sunshine that shines through the clouds on a stormy day. They are unwavering in their support and love of their riders, though the risk to them is huge, not only in combat but from the tech developed to injure them. Though the book followed a relatively predictable path, there were a few unexpected occurances I definitely didn't see coming, which enhanced my reading experience. Gilda is a delight, I liked how insightful she was and really fierce. I do enjoy a happy ending and this book did not disappoint. All in all, an enjoyable read and satisfying conclusion

Kira did it again, she enrolled in the academy that the Aurium built. The Council members wanted to have only the Ragond's in this academy but the Auriums(General Ignatius) demand that they let the Mythoi join. Kira leads a group of Ragond' and Mythoi's in rebellion for she finds out that the General was going to drain the magic from Ragond like he had done to many previous world. The General felt that this was the only way to save is world of Aurium. The people of Aurium had polluted their world begin the destruction of the world 's magic. The General's son, Lysander, joined the rebels to defeat the General. The General is the one who had deployed the machines the had made the dragons sick. The General has a pair of succubus that brainwash the Council into thinking the General was working for the good of Ragond.

The ending of this book answered all questions asked by the audience throughout this trilogy story. I thoroughly enjoyed the development of the characters and the plot. I think that some of the characterization could have been a little more organic but it wasn't too distracting from the story. I do wish some things could have been addressed in the end, like closure for the old witch that sacrificed herself and what her old shop turns into. The book is good. Many young readers can learn a lot about teamwork and leadership as well as gain new words to add to their arsenal.

In this tail the main character faces her greatest challenges yet in order to save her world. On the journey she learns valuable lessons about herself, leader ship, and friendship. With lots of action and twists and surprises Dragon’s Hero is an excellent story.

As Kira and her friends have become known as a group of rebels, they must figure a way to take down the Aureum and save Ragond. The band of rebels uncover the way to defeat the enemy and save the land and the dragons. An action packed adventure that binds the group together and forms a lasting bond of friendship and loyalty. As usual Ava Richardson has not disappointed readers with a great series leaving this reader anxious for what comes next.

So much happening in this last book people coming together, trusting growing and most of them still teenagers knowing they have to go against an army to save so many places. Kira’s finding a picture of her father—Wyatt—could he still be alive? Kira has no military experience but she has a couple good friends that do and with their help and the help of all that believe in her anything can happen. You have to read the book to find out what does happen and how. I highly recommend this series.
I am a big fan of Ava Richardson's books. This book was not a disappointment. It is not my favorite trilogy by Ava but well worth the read.Kira leads her band of rebels to try and save Ragond from the Aurium. General Ignatius states he is there to help Ragond in their fight against their long time enemy who destroyed their realm. Kira is working hard to prove him wrong and save Ragond.

I read the whole series straight through; it was That good! The synopsis does a good job of explaining what the stories are about, but can't do justice to how interesting and entertaining they are. Also, it was nice to read stories that had actually had good editing and proofreading done. If you love fantasy, adventure, and dragons, read this series.
Ava, you always bring we reader's into your great fantasies and we don't want to put them down without knowing what will happen. The characters are so incredible. The stories so interesting and active. Your imagination keeps me interested from beginning to end. You are an awesome writer.

This was a great series full of everything a reader wants in a story. The return of a few familiar friends from Stonehaven just pulls things together! I love everything...
Interesting lovable characters, evil villains, surprise twists, lots of action, good versus evil. Strong, yet vulnerable heroine. This series has it all
This has been an exciting trilogy! Book 3 doesn’t let you down. The win big or it’s all over. Kira grows so much as a person and leader. I love that the dragons are sentient and can talk and bond with people. Excellent in all respects! Try it! Kira & Gilda are great together again 😁
A wonderful ending to a great series! Kira and Gilda and all their friends wrapped up all the storylines perfectly, with lots of action and some tears. Now I am on to the next series.

I had no clue how the author could end this story with so many plots to juggle, but she did! And such a great ending it was! What a fantastic read! Loved it!
