I was born in Manly on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia and grew up in the west after we moved there to help my brother’s eczema which was made worse by salt air. I now reside in the beautiful sunny state of Queensland.

My dad had the biggest impact on my life. I have always had an overactive imagination and would often tell him stories which floated in my mind. He encouraged me to put pen to paper convinced that one day they would become published books.

Apart from marrying the love of my life, the highlight of my life was being accepted into Nursing just before my 16th birthday. It had been a long-time dream and one which encompassed 37 years of my life. Along with nursing, being married to a Naval Officer for almost 47 years, and posted in numerous places, gave me experiences which I have written into many of my books.

We enjoy traveling the country with our Caravan/RV, and Jack Russell puppy by the name of Gemma who will be joining us.

As my parents were British, never Australian citizens, I hold dual citizenship and we plan to take advantage of this to spend two years traveling the UK and Europe in the near future. It will also give me the opportunity to catch up with many family members who reside in England.

My books are in various genres - Western Historical Romance-both steamy and sweet, Contemporary Romance-steamy and sweet, Male/Male, Australian Outback and City Romance. I also have one menage and one paranormal romance along with two children's books. As I said earlier, I have a rather overactive imagination.

I hope you will pick up one of my books and when you close the cover on one of my stories it will be with a satisfied sigh.

After years of dreaming, Mellisa was flying through hers.

When a passenger is being rude and disrespectful, Tim, the captain and pilot, steps up to help Mellisa.

Tim was known as Cocky Flyboy, but he’s ready to change his way.

When the crew goes out for drinks, Tim and Mellisa hit it off. Offering to take her home, Tim is uncomfortable leaving her in the crappy place she lives in and offers her to come stay with him. She refused, but then he gets a call from her asking for help.

E3-BDA19-A-91-F6-4-DE0-92-BD-20-C2081-A2911

Her story is about to get more dangerous and traumatic.

Moving in with Tim might help her for a while, but when Tim digs more into her past to find out who hurt her, she explains that a powerful man was holding her hostage and he promised to kill her if said anything to anyone.

I have mixed feeling about this one. I’ve read a few books with the same plot and, to be honest, this one offered nothing different. There were a few paragraphs the story could go without. Also Mellisa having to be pushed into testifying made annoyed with her. Especially when there’s the possibility of other girls being hurt. Most of her pov in the book was about her crying. Tim was a playboy, but nothing about the way he acts suggests that. I guess my problem with this book is saying something and showing something completely different.

Maybe if I didn’t read books with the same plot before, this would’ve been a more enjoyable read. I have nothing against the author’s writing. My problem is with the characters. The author is great at explaining the story and it moves forward interestingly. I wished for a plot twist, though. Something to make this book stand out.

This had a great premise and I enjoyed Tim and Melissa but the story itself didn't catch my attention as I had hoped. Most of the events are told instead of shown so I had a hard time connecting. There is steam and some danger to add to the angst.

Tim is a playboy pilot who's starting to wish for something more permanent, something more than one offs of fleeting fun. Then a beautiful woman ends up in his crew as a new flight attendant, and he's seeing his new future - if he can protect her from her past, and woo her gently into falling for him the way he's fallen for her.

The basic story here is good, but the sometimes clunky and awkward dialogue, and the telling rather than showing, really took me out of the story. Tim and Melissa are a good couple, though, and save this from a lower rating.

Cocky Flyboy is a great part of the Cocky World!!!

Author Susan Horsnell’s COCKY FLYBOY is an excellent addition to The Cocky Hero World, and I read it cover-to-cover in one sitting. Her cocky hero, Captain Timothy Reisher was straight up, an amazing and benevolent character that I adored from the start. His passion for flying evident in his POV was something that he continued in even his downtime using it for the benefit of those less fortunate than himself. I was surprised at how instantly likeable he was, because with a nickname of Cocky Flyboy and Captain Bigc0ck, I was wondering what kind of hero he was going to be. Instead, he was a man tired of that distasteful reputation and looking to perhaps settle down like his former Captain, Carter Clines, and his Flight Attendant, Kendall Sparks who’s story was Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Playboy Pilot. Their introduction from the get-go of this book easily provided the backdrop for Tim and Melissa’s fast-paced romantic suspense.

Melissa’s story broke my heart, and Ms Horsnell didn’t shy away from including a tough, though well-written subject in her cocky hero contribution. She was a strong character, even if she didn’t feel that way and for all that she’d been through, she still thought about others. I absolutely admired her independence. While I can’t say I picked up a whole heap of chemistry, the connection between her and Tim was strong and instantaneous for them both. Obviously Melissa wasn’t keen to act on it, but I loved that Tim acknowledged it straight away. He wasn’t a game player, and immediately this growly alpha owned his feelings – like a boss.

Cocky Flyboy was a really good read that kept me engaged right through, and there near the end was a shock moment that I absolutely loved!!! I’m not even going to allude to it. All I’ll say that when you hit that part in the book, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It was a divine moment that I relished. If you’re loving this world, and you loved Playboy Pilot, I think you’ll be loving this 4.5 Star story too 💙🖤💙

I thoroughly enjoyed this story about an arrogant pilot who is honest with himself and knows what he is like and about his reputation, after all—he created it!

Tim Reisher is a talented, good-looking pilot for a national airline, he has a lot of love to share with beautiful women and share it he does. This, though, is not all of Tim or even the real him, he is much deeper and throughout the story we see him grow and change to embrace this depth and think of others more than himself.

Melissa Hansen has a very traumatic past and I can honestly say she is one gutsy lady who I really admired in the story. As a new staff member for the same national airline she meets Tim and having heard stories about him is hesitant to get to know him at first, which I found very understandable. She is so good for Tim as she makes him reflect on so many things in his life but then he is great for her too in different ways.

Things get very worrisome when Melissa’s past catches up with her, the drama is intense but my heart just about broke for her. There is a terrific element of suspense and holy moly that solution was a shock, I didn’t see that coming—well done! The reason for the extra half is star too.

A great book, which is a bit different, something I always look for in a story.

Tim is a pilot who is well-known for his way with the ladies. Lately, though, he's been wondering when his "the one" would show up. When he intercepts an altercation between a rowdy passenger and the new air stewardess, Melissa, he finds himself intrigued by her. Sensing the shadows in her eyes and respecting her desire for privacy, he is moved to offer her residence at his home. She refuses, but fate plays a hand - though seemingly cruel - in getting the two together under the same roof.

Melissa hasn't had an easy life. She ran from hell, only to discover that it followed her all the way to NYC. She isn't ready to commit to another man, but Tim found a way around her walls, and she doesn't have the will to kick him out. As Tim shows her that not all men are the same, she has to confront her demons in order to ensure that her past remains firmly in her rearview mirror.

This book deals with strong subject matter that automatically put me in Melissa's corner. Despite her past pain and suffering, she was a sweet and caring individual. I liked that Tim was patient, and respectful towards her. I liked the twists the author put in the story. It was truly good storytelling.

This book is another good addition to the Cocky Hero Club world.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Tim is our cocky flyboy who has a playboy rep, but that's all about to change when he steps up to help Melissa (a new member of the National crew) with a passenger who isn't acting right. They end up having drinks later & now the sparks are flying so a new journey for the two of them begins. He ends up taking her home, and is horrified at where she lives because it isn't safe, and he's right when she calls him after being beaten to hell. See, Melissa has a past that she's trying to stay ahead of but you already know it won't happen like that but luckily Tim has her back now. It would help him if she were to actually tell him what the hell is going on, but she's not talking which leads to us getting some twists. So will Melissa ever cop to what is going on?! And when all is said & done will she give them a real shot?! You know what to do to find out, and you want to find out. Cocky Flyboy is another great addition to this world that I love to spend my time in, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Author Susan Horsnell’s COCKY FLYBOY is an excellent addition to The Cocky Hero World.
Author Susan Horsnell is new to me, however I was able get into the story quite well.
This book moved quickly, there was not one moment where it lost momentum. Tim and Melissa’s characters grew with the story. Emotions ran high through much of this book and the emotions that Melissa’s past and now present evoked stayed steady throughout.
Tim is a hotshot pilot and has a reputation with the ladies, or at least did have a reputation until he met Sis on a flight to New York Melissa. His passion for flying continued in even his downtime using it for the benefit of those less fortunate.
Melissa’s story broke my heart, her traumatic past years of domestic abuse stirred deep emotions. She was strong character, for all what she had been through.I absolutely admired her independence.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and will recommend to anyone who is looking to read Pilot romance, workplace romance.

Timothy Reisher is a debonair pilot with a cocky attitude. He is a billionaire, but, he doesn't faulnt his wealth in front of others.

Melissa Hansen is a new member of the National crew with a past she is attempting to escape. Melissa had barely gotten out of her last relationship alive, and there was no way on Earth she was going to get involved with a man this soon. The heart wants what the heart wants.

When the crew goes out for drinks, Tim and Mellisa hit it off. Offering to take her home, Tim is uncomfortable leaving her in the crappy place she lives in and offers her to come stay with him. She refuses, but then he gets a call from her asking for help.

I don't think this book was focused correctly. The book should have been more on Tim and his 'Cocky' ways. Instead is was on Melissa and her past and current situation.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.

This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. This story is a great addition to this amazing series and is Tim and Melissa’s story. Tim is a cocky pilot who has quite the reputation as a ladies’ man, and Melissa is a new member of the crew, and she has a past which she is trying to escape from. The sparks fly between these two, and the chemistry is instant and undeniable. When Melissa’s past comes back to haunt her Tim is determined to protect and keep her safe. This is a good story which has engaging and relatable characters, with emotions, suspense, danger, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author and I recommend her work.

Melissa has escaped a life that no one should have to endure and is looking for a fresh start as flight attendant which is where she meets Tim. She isn’t looking for a man in her life but when her past resurfaces with a vengeance he is there when she is scared, alone and needs someone the most.

Tim is a pilot who has earned quite the reputation with the opposite sex. When he meets Melissa, she inspires feelings in him that he has never felt before and he is determined to uncover her secrets so that he can protect her from her past.

Tim is so supportive and understanding of what Melissa has gone through and shows her how strong and resilient she truly is as they take us on a suspenseful and emotional ride.

Tim lives by the seat of his pants flying airplanes and doing what he loves. When he meets a new flight attendant he knows she is someone he wants. However, not everything is as it appears and he's about to find himself in the middle of a storm and trying to fight his way out. Melissa is new to the air crew but loves what she does. When her past comes back in a bad way it's the pilot that she just met who will try to save her. But can secrets and the past be put to rest of will these two continue to fight? Loved reading about their growing friendship and turning it into more before they even know it. Sometimes though you can't find the past.

Perfection!!
I don't even know where to begin with my review for this book. Susan Horsnell is a new author to me and this book has got me hooked on her as an author. Talk about pulling at one's heart strings. Wow! There are triggers in this book so be prepared. I was swooning all over Tim. Tim may have been a cocky flyboy but he sure has a heart of gold. Even though he barely knew Melissa he found himself being protective of her and wanting to take care of her. These two had a connection I don't think anyone would be able to break through. This book is a must read! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

What a great new addition to the Cocky Hero series.
Thus book is the old adage… the cocky ladies man changes his ways after he witnesses the same actions that he does …
He steps in to help a fellow associate, on the same plane that he’s on and she’s working, after she is man -handled by a cocky passenger.
He realizes his cocky ways and……
You’ll have to read it to see if he changes his ways. Just know you should read this fast paced short book.

Cocky Flyboy was so freakin' good and Tim and Melissa had chemistry for days!! Tim is a hotshot pilot and has a reputation with the ladies, or at least did have a reputation. He meets Melissa on a flight to New York when she has an issue with a passenger and the rest as they say is history. They spend some time together, he gives her a ride home and is worried when he sees where she lives. Turns out he was right to be worried when he gets a call from Melissa for help. He finds her bleeding and beaten and has already called for help. He was already aware that she has been through something pretty bad, not that she'll talk to Tim about it because she's so afraid. She has decided she's not only not getting into a relationship right now, but she also doesn't feel she's good enough for Tim as she sees herself as damaged. Tim himself never saw himself as relationship material, he was fine with his hookups, but lately he's been thinking he may want more, and then Melissa rocks his world and as he gets to know her, he's feeling things that he's never felt before and he's starting to want it all with Melissa. They first have to deal with what happened to her and the person that did it if Melissa can get over her fear enough to share that information. Having Tim in her corner is helping her feel safe and once she gets some information that shakes her to her core there may just be an end coming to what and or who she fears most, and once that is resolved will she be willing to give Tim a true chance to show her things she's never experienced before? I am certainly recommending this book, and you will be rooting for Tim and Melissa to find their way

Cocky Flyboy
Written by: Susan Horsnell

Author Susan Horsnell is new to me, I had no idea what I would be getting story wise. What I got was a read that drew me in and held me hostage as Tim and Melissa’s story unfolded.

I like to know about the characters up front. Give me the backgrounds etc., at the beginning, and then I have a good idea of whom I’m dealing with character wise. Author Susan Horsnell did just that. We learned Tim’s story background and then Melissa’s. I was set and ready to go!

I was vested in these two characters from that point on. Tim on paper looked like a playboy pilot but he also had interests that made him the kind of person who was dependable.

Melissa has a past that she is obviously running from, knowing that I was looking forward to learning more about her and finding out just how and where Tim was going to fit into her life.

This book moved quickly, there was not one moment where it lost momentum. Tim and Melissa’s characters grew with the story. Emotions ran high through much of this book and the emotions that Melissa’s past and now present evoked stayed steady throughout.

Author Susan Horsnell keeps readers on the edge of their seats and I am amazing at how much was packed into this story! Well done, it’s an amazing read that I happily recommend.

A cocky pilot with a reputation. Is he all that bad, or has he just not found the right woman yet. A new flight attendant catches his eye. She's in trouble though and his protective nature has him looking out for her. Mugged in her own home! Is it someone she knows or a random attack? Unable to work he takes her in. The chemistry is there, sparks are flying. Determined to work out who hurt her he calls in a cop friend. There is a whole lot more going on than meets the eye. I highly recommend this story.

Tim and Melissa's story was impressive and surprising. While the story line was pretty serious and could be triggers for some readers, the author penned it with a light touch. It added the turmoil, angst and depth to the story. Fantastic job well done!

I enjoyed reading the Cocky Flyboy storyline.
It was filled with plenty of cocky behaviour from Tim the pilot who had been known as a ladies man and enjoyed all the perks that entailed. Until the day he witnessed the new cabin crew member Melissa Hansen being manhandled by a drunken passenger and once he saw the fear in her eyes everything changed.

Melissa knew she had to be careful always watching and aware of her surroundings that was until her life once again came tumbling down. Reaching out to Tim in her desperate hour of need, she wasn't expecting what happens next.

I really enjoyed reading this enthralling book by Susan. Work colleagues Tim who is a cocky pilot and Melissa who is a air hostess but with a heartbreaking past come together after a terrible incident. This book had me hooked and I devoured it wanting to know what would happen next. This enthralling book is part of The Cocky Hero Club but can be read as a standalone. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.
