Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
I don't know if I just missed it or if it was meant to be a surprise, but I had no idea Marco was getting the final story in the Shadow Crew series by Cala Riley. There is nothing like an unexpected redemption story and was completely here for it! Finish Line is definitely my favorite book of the series ♥️. Marco Sanchez betrayed his crew to protect his sister and now he is out for revenge. He's completely determined to self-destruct when he comes across his nemesis's sister and decides to use her in his quest for revenge. But is it using if the person helps? Nova has had to reconcile the fact that her brother is not the person he used to be and decides to help Marco who is a shadow of the person he used to be. Maybe her helping him can start to heal him. Maybe, in the end, he can heal her too.
Absolutely loved Finish Line! Marco was a hot mess and she truly brought his fight back back when he saw no path forward. I enjoyed their journey together. Finish Line was beautifully written and moved quickly. The storyline ran concurrently of the first three books, so if you've read them, you'll recognize some of the scenes, but from Marco's perspective. I loved the ending and the choices they made, save one, but it left me truly happy for them overall. Just a fantastic conclusion to the series!
Finish Line is the 4th book in the Shadow Crew series and could be read as a standalone, but best enjoyed when read in series order. It is told in first person, from dual perspective.
Epic ending to a phenomenal series! I have loved each and every couple... this one just might reign in the top spot though!
They were perfect together. Complimented each other in the best of ways. Never allowing the other to fall so low into the pit that they couldn't climb out with a boost. Unwavering and loyal to the max.
Seriously can't rave about this series enough! If you're looking for books that live and breathe the racing/street crew life this is it. You'll get alpha protectors and sassy leading ladies!
The final instalment to the Shadow Crew series is here and Cala Riley did it with a bang.
Did you have to pull my hair so hard? I’m all for a little kink in the bedroom, but fuck, my head hurts.
This series has been one of my favourites to read this year. The ride or die friendships, the real life relatable problems and the sexual tension has had me on the edge of my seat along with the plot line running though all four books.
Noticed how I’m being vague and not saying anything about the hero and heroine? That’s because you have to read the series to see if you can guess who it’s going to be. What I will say is, I was SO excited when I realised whose book it was!
I think you need me as bad as I need you.
Once again, Cala Riley bought the action, the heat and the heart stopping moments with Finish Line. Massively underrated authors that I want to gatekeep but I’m telling you to check them out because you’re missing out on their possessive heroes!
A brilliant actioned packed ending to the series, it was not only hot but it will have the hairs standing on your arm as the tingles keep coming from the start of this book until the Finish Line, (did you see what I did there), the heat and connection between our leading couple just ooze off the page but that does not overshadow the magnificent, mesmerising story-line, full of intrigue and suspense.
This is one review where you have to be careful what you say as you don't want to give too much away, especially if you have read the other books in this series, so all I can say is this is one series ending that you really do not want to miss.
WOW JUST WOW! This book was all that and a bag of chips! The Shadow Crew is finally going to face off with their enemies, the Devil's Den, so it's quite the action packed experience with a kicker of romance between Marco & Nova with a ton of heat. The twists are definitely coming in hot so my head was spinning like crazy, making it a thrill ride & epic conclusion to this high octane series. This review is going to be so short & sweet because there's no way to make it longer without giving things away, and it's so much more exciting (if possible) if you go in blind. The dynamic duo of Cala Riley really upped their game (and that's really a miracle since everything they create is gold) with Finish Line so don't dawdle, just hit those one click buttons & if you haven't read the series, start them in order so you don't miss out on any delicious detail! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Finish Line is exactly what I wanted to end this stellar series. The dynamic duo known as Cala Riley delivered a truly feel-good kind of romance together with the right amount of tension and excitement as the Shadow crew finally found a way to take down their biggest nemesis. With the shocking ending we all experienced at the end of book 3, Shift, this book goes from 0 to 60 almost immediately. There is a world of hurt, pain, and suffering for all of the members of this tight-knit family with Roman's decision to punish one of their own. But when a surprise appears in the life of their rival's sister, all common sense goes out the window as a wild attraction is born between two lonely souls that give the need for vengeance a new wrinkle no one saw coming.
I don't want to give anything away wrt who falls in love here but to say the combination of adventure, lust, and passion adds to one already heady story. Riley gives us amazing characters all the way around within the Shadow crew and the Devil's Den and their separate group interactions are truly heartfelt showing that their respect for one another is most definitely at the core of their existence. In addition, although not related by blood, loyalty is never taken for granted by those who truly deserve it. The mutual decision by both clubs to rid the world of the evil that continues to threaten way too many lives only adds to the intensity this series has become known for, further proving that their allegiance to one another can withstand almost anything.
I really did enjoy this installment with all the moving parts and great characters involved. The epilogue made me smile and even tear up a bit since I'll miss this crew and the connections they had to each other. Very well-written, I was completely captivated from page one and happily give Finish Line a big 5 stars!
Finally finished with this and disappointed its my first review of 2025.
I liked the storyline overall in this series, which is why I kept reading but there is simply too many unnecessary sex scenes. like the whole epilogue was basically one sex scene. If 90% of them were removed this would basically be a 5 star.
otherwise this series was good. I think it wrapped well. I loved the twists and the on edge moments. however I don't plan on picking up this author again.
Marco’s story was highly anticipated and worth the wait. I fell down the rabbit hole with Redlined which started my obsession with the dark and twisted world that Cala Riley created for this Shadow Crew series. It was filled with secrets, drama, suspense, bloodshed and the right amount of chemistry and steaminess. I find the fast paced energy entertaining and I love how I can lose myself in the storyline.
Eek okay Finish Line was everything I wanted and more, it's the end of the Shadow Crew and it couldn't have been a more perfect ending for this wonderful world! 👌🏽😍 These two easily took the number one spot of my favorite couple in the series which I didn't know was possible after Roxy and Rome, they were just that good!
I don't want to spoil whose story this is because of previous events but damn this man is so broken 😭 The way he thinks he's not worthy of even a slice of happiness or smiles because of what he did broke my heart. And I absolutely adore how Nova unexpectedly came into his life and brings all that slowly back giving him life and helps him heal while them healing her in the process 🥺💕
This is definitely most emotional of the four books and really has you in your feels but also the intensity has you on the edge of your seat, the preciousness of these two melting your heart and of course the steam is on point as always oof 🤭🧡 Their chemistry is over the roof too! I adore them and this book to pieces!
This review is going to be short and sweet-because no spoilers here! If you’re new to this series run and grab Redlined and get started- this book is seriously the ending I didn’t know I needed. This couple had me all in my feels with all the spice too. I’m secretly hoping for a spin off 😉
There is the perfect amount of suspense, angst and spice that will keep you flipping the pages! Another automatic one click.
My expectations might have been too high for this one. Sister if his rival, and it’s MARCO!!! I wanted epic, and I got okay.
I actually started skimming a lot of parts, and I didn’t really feel like we got to see Marco and Nova fall. They were nothing, then fooling around, then in love. I wanted more. More tension, more angst. Something.
I did love them as characters and a couple, and I still really enjoyed the crew.
(ARC REVIEW) My thoughts about this book are sad. I'm sad because the series is over. I'm going to miss the Shadow Crew. The series was a wild ride and these two ladies ended it on a beautiful note. I highly suggest you read the whole series and not just this book. Each book leads up to the final and describes each couple. My favorite would be this couple Marco and Nova. The angst between them was just the right amount. These two had demons and lots of emotional baggage but they melted perfectly into each other. There was a scene that caused me to drool it was so sexy and forbidden you will know what I'm talking about when you get to that part. As I said this is the end of the ride for these characters but I honestly loved it all.
WHAT?! Mind blown just from the prologue. I had to reread the prologue to understand what was going on. I did not see that coming! Now we come full circle back to book one.
AAAHHHH. I freaking love this series! But how can I write a review without giving anything away now?? The only way I know how is to just say how much I love it and how much I love these characters. I was completely invested in their stories, their love, and how they are a tight nit family.
Zade is still out trying to ruin the Shadow Crew and has bigger plans for the the Devil’s Den than anyone could have imagined. Add in the FBI, DEA, and the Medina drug cartel and you have one hell of a race to the finish line to see who goes down. Zade will turn on anyone in the way of his schemes, even his sister, Nova. Nova knows her brother is no longer her brother. He is a monster. All the while, a ghost has been lurking in the shadows and watching everyone’s moves. It’s time for Nova and her mystery man to reveal themselves to the Shadow Crew and join forces to finally take Zade down.
The anticipation of that moment was everything. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat. The love interests in this book made my heart warm. This was the perfect ending to an amazing series. These characters have all found their place, their family, and their soulmates.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
A reign of terror is hanging over the Shadow crews head. Until the threat is eliminated, they will never find the peace they deserve. Little do they know they have an angel working behind the scenes, feeding them the information they need to end this once and for all. The problem is, Zade is one step ahead of them. Too bad he never anticipated the boogeyman waiting in the shadows. He won't get away with this. If I have anything to say about it, I'll be there at the finish line watching him take his last breath. I'm the one thing he never saw coming. I will be his downfall.
This is a dark book. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. Some subjects inside the book might be triggering for some readers. This is the last book in this series and the shadow crew is finally able to accomplish what they have wanted to for the longest time. However all the members have been going through hurt and pain and a whole lot of suffering since Roman has decided to punish one of their own. I don't really want you to know who is in this book until you pick it up. I will say though that I loved every single second of it It was the perfect book to end this series with.
It’s funny to think when I started this series, that I would read the first one and call it a day. I didn’t think I’d get hooked on a series like this. One about a crew racing cars. But from that very first book I was 100% in and couldn’t believe how quickly I fell for all these characters.
Here’s the thing. I am not going to give anything away. I can’t. I won’t. I am not sure if it’s even known who is in this book. With a little imagination I am sure serious fans of this series already know. But just know this…this book was phenomenal. It had me from start to finish, in one massive grip. I couldn’t put it down unless absolutely necessary. And unfortunately, sleep is absolutely necessary.
Amazing writing, sizzling romance, and one heck of an ending to bring this beautiful series to a close. I am going to miss diving into a new book for this series every couple of months like I have been doing. It breaks my heart it’s over but what a way to end it!! 5 Stars!
This is the 4th and final book in the Shadow Crew Series and let me just tell you Cala Riley definitely saved the best for last!
I feel like I need to be extra careful with this review to not give away any spoilers.
This book was a complete rollercoaster with so many ups and downs, twists and turns I literally couldn’t put it down. The MCs were so perfect for each other. They were both loyal, fierce and so incredibly hot together. I loved Nora and how she never gave up on him and helped him through the devastating situation he was forced into while also finding her own self. It was an unexpected ending to this series and absolutely perfect!
This book is not a stand-a-lone and I highly recommend reading the prior 3 books in the Shadow Crew Series prior to Finish line.
🔥Turf War 🔥Illegal Street Racing 🔥Enemies to Lovers 🔥Forced Proximity 🔥Redemption 🔥Steamy
WOW! That was on hell of an intense and utterly epic conclusion to this phenomenal series. I could not put it down. I needed all of the answers even if I had to stay up all night to finish this amazing story.
Right from the start I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails like crazy from all of the adrenalin inducing moments, and holding my breath right to the very end.
Marco and Nova are incredible characters. Marco is hell bent on revenge even if it destroys him and Nova is just the right person to bring him out of the darkness. I loved their connection and the progression of their relationship.
Brilliantly written series that was filled with action, suspense, emotional turmoil, angst, drama, violence and some very steamy moments which just oozed off the pages. It was a thrilling story with twists and turns towards the end that I never expected.
The duo, Cala Riley, is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read! OMG this book was absolutely fantastic... what an epic conclusion to the phenomenal series!
𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤/𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 = Marco and Nova 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 = No 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 = No 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚(𝙨) = Sports Romance ♥ Illegal Street Racing ♥ Suspense ♥ Dual POVs ♥ "Gangs" ♥ Contemporary ♥ AntiHero ♥ Forbidden love 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧(𝙨): Language ♥ Drugs ♥ Sexual Content ♥ Violence 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 = 🔥🔥🔥 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With the shocking ending of book 3 (Shift), Finish Line picks up where it left off, and it doesn't let up the gas till the very end! The Shadow Crew going to war with Zade and some of his crew. Nora, his sister, is sick of his ways aand ready to bring her brother down.
Lots of tension, angst and suspense. Sit back, buckle up and be prepared for one helluva joy ride.
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. God this book was off the charts and you will see why once you read it! Absolutely loved Ghost and Nova. I'm sad to. See this series come to an end but it was bitter sweet. It's one of my favourite racing series to date. I can't give much away because spoilers but ya i definitely shed a few tears.
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. This is the final book in the Shadow Crew series, sad, but it was the perfect conclusion to the series ! I loved Marco and Nova, and was hoping for Marco to get his own book. I love the circumstances in how they happened to get together, and the progression into a relationship. Marco is possessive, protective and isn’t the “gentlest”.. if you know what I mean. Some of my favorite qualities in an alpha MMC. The circumstances he was in the first half of the book, how he was living, made me sad and I definitely shed some tears. These two finding happiness in their lives made me want to hug my kindle by the end. I love all the characters in the Shadow Crew world, they are truly a family. This is a genre I never know I’d fall in love with. The story and characters are written so well. This book even had a plot twist thrown in that threw me, never excpected. This author duo always gives us a fantastic binge worthy read , and I will always recommend them ! Read read read ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Cala Riley's writing style and storytelling! Her books are always so well-written, and the stories are always so intriguing and captivating. This one had me immersed from beginning to end, and it was really hard to put it down.
Marco and Nova were a match made in heaven. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their connection was undeniable. It was so nice to see Marco find his HEA after everything that happened with Roxy. This one is a must read and highly recommended!
What a fantastic ending to a fantastic series. It was everything I could have hoped for and more.
From the moment this series has began the Shadow crew have been warring with Zade from the Devil's Den. It will finally reach its conclusion in this book as well. But...how you will need to read it to find out.
The couple in this book literally blew my mind. I feel in love with their story. It was emotional, gritty and full of angst but I freaking loved every word.
“I never want you out of my sight, ****. If it were up to me, I would chain you to me. The thought of never seeing your beautiful face again will be the thing that kills me.”
SIGH!
From the very beginning of the story to the very end it was go, go, go!
Honestly Cala Riley know how to weave an incredible story with incredible characters that will leave you utterly speechless and wanting more. This has been my feeling with every Shadow Crew book. Fantastic!!👏👏
I can’t believe it’s over!! This book was the perfect finish to this series. Bombshell after bombshell was dropped on us & I couldn’t put it down but also didn’t want it to end! I tried to savour it as much as I could. If you loved the other books in this series than this book is the cherry on top! I’m sad it’s over but I really hope we get a novella of them in their future years because I’d love to see what all their happily ever afters look like!
4.5 stars... Im so sad this series is over ... I wasn't sure what I thought about Nova and Marco. They definitely grew one and they had a one of a kind relationship and it didn't feel forced. These two are so loyal to each other and even when people think they'll turn they don't. I loved how it ended even though im sad its over.
My heart is so full at the moment because of this world and these characters! Cala Riley really delivered a world full of fast cars, drama, and romance without missing a beat!
Finish Line was a wonderfully written angsty, enemies to lovers that will have you wanting more! If you’ve read the first three books in this series, you’ll know this world is fast pace and full of craziness. Nova and Marco really take you behind the senses while they try to uncover the truths for the turf war. Their chemistry is off the charts! The attraction is instant and really just meant to be. I absolutely love the fierceness that is Nova. She is not only smart but she is willing to fight for what is right. Marco may be broody but he is also caring. The crew really has to overcome their troubles to set the world straight.
This was such a great ending to the series! The epilogue definitely brought smiles and tears to my face. This is definitely a book I recommend readers should read, and this is definitely a series I fully recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️.5 Partial bear review The Finish Line by Cala Riley
I have read this entire series. And have fallen hard for each of these stories. But the twist of it all I had called from the beginning! I even messaged Cala Riley and was like “I freaking called it”
This was heartbreaking within it and then healed you. I cried the last 25% because of the pace and the twist and turns and the emotions. The spice. Ma’am’s. The cycle scene was damn!!! My dreams coming true.
Please be warned this cannot read as a standalone. This is the perfect ending to this series. The cross between fast and furious meets sons of anarchy and a dash of peaky blinders. (Cala riley don’t come at me with the why I just think there is a dash of it).
What a great finish to the Shadow Crew series! Marco is back with his and Nova’s story. Who better to solve this mess than a “ghost” Marco and Nova work Together to bring her brother and some of his crew down. There are many things at play here and Marco and Nova are on top of it all. Zane needs to be dealt with! Love this story where forced proximity and kindness are what bring them together! Also some surprises! Awesome ending!
I don’t want to spoil anything because this series has been one of a serious rollercoaster ride and this book is the best. These two characters come together with one goal in mind to take down Zade and finally end his campaign to hurt the Shadow crew. When their feelings become more involved will it be enough to save each other or are they doomed to lose it all? This action-packed read will have you on the edge of your seat, but the emotions from these two characters and their crews is what grips you and keeps you invested. I will say that Roxy in this book infuriated me, and I wanted to smack her around because even in the end after all that is done and sacrificed she still doubts one of them. My heart hurt with all these two endure but it was completely healed by the end and these two are my favorite in the whole series.
I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give anything away, but this book is perfect. The couple...ugh perfection! They way she cares for him and won't let him get depressed, perfect girl for him. And how he is with her, finally understands what love is.
This book does a great job of bringing everything to a conclusion. You understand why everything happened and the reasons for it. The crew is strong than ever and everyone truly gets their happy ending.
Side note, strong and tough Roxy comes out and I love it!
