Knight in a White Stetson had some kind of charm and I can't pin down why, there were many annoying things but I still enjoyed it very much.

Calla grew up on a ranch, it's a family legacy and she loves it. When the book opens she's cursing Lester who works on her ranch, as her tire burst. Henry comes to her rescue and she makes her way home. Calla's mother left the ranch to her when she died and Calla left her college for it. Calla had a brother who she adored who also died. She feels a big responsibility for the ranch and it's condition since it's in debt because of her college loan and for that reason she is going to marry Clark. He's rich if a bit snooty and also is educated and that is more than enough for her. This annoyed me actually how she rationalizes marrying him, hell she proposed to him, but well she was really trying to convince herself because of the promises she made to her mother.

Now, Henry shows up to her ranch and takes a job. He's got this instant attraction for her which is weird for him. He's actually a scientist but knows ranch-work because of his grandfather. Henry got married, his wife turned out to be a spy, who forced him to work for the government but now Henry is out with better skills and training. He's not hiding or running just moving around. He doesn't like Clark a little bit.

Calla is all self-sufficient and tough with a temper. Things get almost hot and heavy between them before Lester interrupts and then Clark and Henry play out a game. Calla literally shrieks at them for that. Throughout the book Henry tried to keep his hands to him and tried to be happy that she was getting married to Clark since the no-one would know what she means to him.

The way the book was written made it good I suppose. I got annoyed over the Clark thing and I saw the end coming a mile of but well Calla and Henry had great chemistry.

Enjoyable read. Nice story, some suspense, not much surprise. I loved Calla's personality.

Henry was the typical, perfect romance novel hero. There was only one sex scene, I would have preferred more. I did not like what Henry gave to Frank at the end, sounded too risky to me. Otherwise I liked it. Sexual content: moderate.

Not a bad story, I just couldn't get attached to either the hero or heroine.
