“Until the Real One Shows Up” is a wholesome love story about William (Will) and Anastasia (Asha), who have their first lives destroyed by the wicked desire of the greedy. According to a prophecy, Asha is destined to be an empress that will prevent the collapse of the empire; however, Avelin (antagonist) shows up with a mark of the goddess and claims that Asha is a fake. The empire falls into havoc which ends in a rebellion that both main characters die in. The story starts with Asha waking up two years before her death and with a new chance to defy her fate. Ultimately, Avelin, who contracted the devil, has her scheme exposed with her dead by burning at the stake.
There was a bit of a slow burn with Asha avoiding Will because of her fear of the past repeating, but I quite liked the unconditional love of the two. The side stories also provided a lot of closure, and I felt really satisfied with their ending. While there are some slow parts, I recommend this novel because of its innocent and hopeful perspective on love.

So at the intro we get to know that the heroine isekaied twice into the body of a villainess. first time it was before the story begun, she falls for the love interest, changes the character, the original story, it ends badly. the second time she reincarnates a few years later and the OG villainess had time to do the villainess stuff. she vows to folow the plot and not to get invested with the love interest. then she apoligises to anyone the OG villainess has wronged and proceds to (openly) act like the most perfect, elegant, modest, hardworking, salad eating( a virtue, apparentely) empress imaginable. And, of course, almost everyone is in awe of the characters change. Even if you don't get annoyed at how perfect and virtuous the main chacter is, how in the world does any of it count as folowing the original plot and keeping the love interest at a distance?
