It's official. I've hit rock bottom. I just broke up with my manipulative boyfriend - and am moving in with my older brother - until I can get back on my feet. Which is where I run into his cocky roommate, River.
From the second we meet, I want nothing to do with him and his man-whoring ways. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.
The guy goes through women like I go through a sleeve of Oreos.
But I guess I can’t really blame him for having a big head. He gets paid to be looked at, and has a revolving door of gorgeous women at his beck and call.
Once I move in, my brother raises the forbidden stakes - and claims me as off-limits. Which only entices River further. After all, he’s a sucker for the things he can’t have. So ... now he wants me.
Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.
She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.
I really hate it when past lovers/one-night-stands are described as whores, skanks, bitches etc. I don't understand why it's a badge of honour for guys to be sexually (over) experienced and all the shame goes to their female partners. 🤔 🤨
I would like to thank Kelsie’s Tiktok that she made regarding this book. Because of that I went and got it on my Kindle. I love the relationship the boys have with Reese and the support Milo gives her. Who wouldn’t want four hot guys coming to your defense and protecting you!?
This did not have to be 400-plus pages long. The fact of the matter is, about 250 pages were redundant and were so obviously fillers that in no way contributed to the plot. The story went in circles when it was crystal clear where it was headed. As it was, I can equate this book to a child’s attempt at articulating. I am so glad I caught on early and did not waste my time reading every fluff-filled chapter. I began skimming 1/4 of the way in and still could predict every trope, cliché, and frankly every decision that the characters would make.
Now let’s talk“heroine.” What a hoot she was, and not in a good way. Reese reeked of desperation. Fresh out of her abusive relationship, Reese, not one second later falls in love at first sight with River. Whom, might I add, was getting ready to bone a nameless woman during their first meeting. And yet, despite all the blatant misogyny and against her better judgement, she naively—and to the my annoyance—idiotically finds herself jealous of River and his conquests each time crawling back for more. My god, for a 400-page story Model Behavior read awfully similar to the instalove short stories that were 100 pages or less. The only difference? I can appreciate the short stories more because at least it got straight to the point, but I digress.
Back to Reese, the girl was quite literally a doormat. What’s worse? She was an unbelievably selfish and stupid doormat who at every turn never failed to remind the reader that she was a “big girl.” She kept crying about not want to betray her brother and ruining friendships, and what does she do? Betray her brother and ruin friendships. I get that it was an inevitable bridge that needed to be crossed, but the way it played out was so cringe-y i was, on multiple occasions, tempted to toss my phone against the wall sparing myself the torture of being proven right about every masochistic decision she makes. All the while, I felt absolutely ZERO chemistry between River and Reese. Honestly, there was more chemistry between Gibson and Milo than River and Reese.
Overall, the story was bland, flat and easily forgettable, which after 400 pages of drivel seems like an easy feat to accomplish.
I like Kelsie Rae’s style and voice so much that when I discovered her last year, I devoured eight of her books! Every single one brought joy to my life and Model Behavior followed that path as well!
Reese and River were ridiculously entertaining. Their story sparked and so did their connection! Not only was I ridiculously entertaining by the whole 3 guys 1 girl roommate situation, but also captivated by a bit of mystery! Speaking of roommates, well done on their development! I’m making a point of putting this in because the first book in a series can sometimes get bogged down with external information other than the main plot because it needs to set-up the series but in this case, Kelsie managed to not only set up the characters and introduce them to us, but also develop them and incorporate them. It was like a perfect reading storm! I couldn’t get enough of everyone! This is a really good story kids. It was well written, well developed with plenty of swoony moments mixed with laugh out loud moments.
Really wanted to like this book but the writing style is just not for me. Reese and River conversations felt so unrealistic and whiny at times. Her brother Milo’s anger was so aggressive he seemed just as bad as her ex Ian. I wish I got to hear more about Dove’s character. Was expecting more because I really like this authors sneak peaks on tik tok.
I am so disappointed ☹️☹️☹️ I watched Kelsie Rae’s tiktok about the book and I was sooo excited to read it, especially when I saw all the high reviews. The roommate trope isn’t one I’d usually be into, but the way she describe the best friend brother thing, the ex, the roommates—it felt like a great mix. But everything just fell so flat for me.
The characters were utterly boring. The main character, (what’s her name again) Reese, was genuinely the most pushover, most whiny character I have read in a WHILE. This woman (A WHOLE WOMAN) is just so dependent on other people for her own confidence and security. It’s so frustrating. I’m over 50% of the way through HOPING it’ll get better and it just… doesn’t. She’s constantly saying that she’s not all that, that’s she’s not pretty, she’s not good enough. BOO HOO. I understand insecurities but god could she not bring it up during every moment with the love interest PLEASE. On the other hand, the main love interest, River, AKA riv (I hate the nickname I’m so sorry), was also boring. He randomly fell for Reese after knowing her for a whole .2 seconds and the character development was non existent.
I was hoping the couple would be similar to Allie and Dean from The Score by Elle Kennedy, with the girl who just got out of a relationship and the guy who sleeps around. I saw the similarities at first, but in this book, it was done not well. There wasn’t tension really because they knew each other for no time at all before they started to fall for each other. Like I get love at first sight or whatever but there should still be chemistry.
What was also downright annoying was how quickly our lovely Reese got over her abusive relationship. Like babe, he emotionally manipulated you, isolated you from your family, and forced you to sever ties with them, and you are just completely good after this???? Huh???
I’m gonna mention this again, just reiterate this in case it didn’t hit the first time. The couple randomly fell for each other. There wasn’t anything there, then poof sexual and emotional attraction. And for a guy who usually just sleeps with women, he had surprisingly no problem confessing his feelings literally a day after their first romantic excursion (which was literally a lingerie photoshoot, which could’ve been done so much better).
The smut was also like not… even there! Like what? Could we have at least gotten some good erotica with this? Please? Nope. The smut was just boring as hell too, just like the rest of the book. I’m seeing a common theme…
Honestly, I was going to give this book 2 stars. I thought, you know what, it’s not that bad. But no, it is pretty bad. I can’t think of one thing I enjoyed about this. Not one. Not the friendship (which was so boring and had no dynamic), not the main romantic relationship, not the smut, nothing. The high reviews had me so excited, maybe I’m the one in the wrong, maybe I’m just not getting it. But I’m not going to get it by 70% if the way through. I hate DNFing but I want to move onto better books - sorry.
this just didn’t do it for me,,, despite being 400 pages i still felt like there was no gradual development in the characters or their relationships with each other. One second they were shitty people and like 20 pages later all the sudden they are amazing.... idk just not it
The first in a new series by this author and it reminded me why I enjoy her stories as much as I do. Complex characters that are more than they show, strong relationships, second chances, a bit of suspense, and a lot going on that made me smile while I was reading. Not to mention, when the chips are down, I would love to have Milo, Jake, Gibbs and River in my corner watching my back. I'm looking forward to reading each one of the stories in the series.
I'm not sure how I feel about this book. A few times I had the feeling I was reading a book from the middle of a series or characters from another series or something. Maybe my brain skimmed some stuff and I didn't realize it? There were a few toxic relationships. The outcome of one had me rolling my eyes, like really, this is what you're going to do to your characters?
Would I read again? Probably not. Would I read more of the series? I don't know.
Model Behavior is a great series starter from Kelsie Rae! When I started reading Model Behavior, I actually had to go back and reread the blurb, because I was sure this story was going to be about Reese and Jake, her brother's best friend from childhood. But nope, it's River -- model, manwhore River -- who turned out to be the guy who captured Reese's attention.
I loved how strong of a heroine Reese is, even if she doesn't think she's strong. She's starting over again after an abusive relationship, and moves in with her brother Milo and his 4 roommates. Milo lays down the law that Reese is untouchable, and even though each guy is hotter than the next, Reese is not in any headspace to enter into another relationship. But she does start up a friendship with model River, and it turns out that there's a lot more to the guy than being a pretty face.
River is so sweet and shows such a vulnerable side when he's with Reese. And you know what? He's got a rep as being a manwhore, but as soon as he realizes that he's really into Reese and is willing to risk his friendship with Milo in order to date her, he immediately stops playing around with other women. But once Reese gives in and she and River start seeing one another in secret, it's a time bomb waiting to explode.
This story took a turn that I really wasn't expecting, and really puts some stress on Reese and River's relationship. When tragedy strikes, Reese shows how strong she is and just how much River means to her. I loved where Model Behavior went from there! I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the roommates!
This book has all the same sweet moments and connections between the H/h as her Signature Sweethearts series, but is not the same sweet/clean romance. Sexy, sexy times abound!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I'm going to be honest, I was expecting something different based off the description.
I was expecting this cat and mouse game of seduction or some sh*t like that but all I saw was Reese - the MC- just be really pathetic 😬. Like I was really into her character and delving into her emotional state as a woman that is fresh out of an emotionally abusive relationship but somehow that mostly translated into her desperately thirsting over this manwhore for no other reason than being "obscenely" hot which I can't understand for the life of me. Like girl...! He has a different chick every night and his pet name for you is "Floozy" of all things!!! 🤦♀️ Have SOME respect, like what?!
The guys seem like pieces of sh*t considering they acknowledge they're sluts and that her brother didn't want her to date any of them because he knows how they treat women, River apparently being WORSE than him. Which by the way, back the f*ck up✋. "They know what they get into when they go into my bed", what the hell did you say biatch?! 🚩🚩🚩🚩 all around!
Overall, I kept saying "gross" way too many times than I care for when reading a spicy romance 😐.
What an epic way to start a new series! Kelsie Rae really hit it out of the park with this one. In less than 24 hours from start to finish I was put through the emotional ringer and I loved every single second of it. I think it just became my favorite book written by Rae. I am not above begging to get my hands on book two pronto.
When Reese's life seems to implode she looks to the one person she's always been able to count on, her brother Milo. Milo takes her in but he has one rule.... do not get involved with any of his roommates. He imposes the same rules on his roommates too.... do. not. touch. What could go wrong? A beautiful girl in a home full of hot alpha males.... when the boundaries are tested things start to get a little messy.
This book is like a forbidden romance with a mysterious twist. I honestly was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out just which roommate was going to capture her interest for good. Then of course there's the huge plot twist near the end that damn near had me screaming out loud. If you're looking for something to completely obliterated your ability to focus on anything other than a book than look no further. This one is amazing! The Wrecked Roommates series is going to be exceptional, just like book one is!
I went into this book blind . I was so glad I did as I wasn't sure who was gonna win Reese's . When I figured out it was gonna be River I couldn't wait to be a front seat driver to what a fiasco there getting together would be . River had huge ego chip on his shoulder at the beginning, as the book went on he lost it . This story had a bit of drama as well which helps to set up for future books in the series. If you are in the market for a fun book this is the book for you.
I loved Model Behavior! I loved how strong Reese was, and how River was so cocky, funny, and hot. I love brother's best friend romances, but this had so much more. If you like rom-coms, suspense, or hot alphas, you will love this book. This is my first book by Kelsie Rae and now I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
This was just fabulous. I've read so many of Kelsie's books and she makes me fall in love everytime. I didn't want to put the book down. A roller coaster of emotions, so much more than the usual brother's best friend forbidden romance. I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the boys. Just perfect. I'll be counting down the days for the next in the series.
This sucked me in every time I picked it up. Some very toxic relationships, but some great growth through it all. Am I reading the next one? You bet I am.
Wow. I really liked River and Reese but way to make me impatient for the other guys’ stories. I just want all the little manwhores to be happy. Especially my Jakie :(
If you couldn’t tell, I absolutely LOVED this book. There were so many different twists and turns throughout the book that it always kept you on the edge of your seat. The love River and Reese had for each other was so beautiful, you were rooting for the entire way. I didn’t see the ending coming, and thought it was going to end completely different. I’m excited to read more of Kelsie Rae’s books!
I cannot compute how enamoured I was with this story.
First of all forbidden romance, brothers bestfriend and a toxic ex thrown in, how can I not be swept in?
Reese Andres life goes spiralling when she finds her toxic boyfriend with another woman. Where else does she go for support other than her protective older brother Milo. Little did she know that came with three extra ridiculously hot roommates, who are just as overprotective and off limits Jake, Gibbs and River!
Navigating her life while her controlling ex continues to try and keep a grip on her, Reese finds herself in other dilemmas like the unplayable tension between her and the most arrogant and beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on. But he’s off limits.
This book had me laughing, crying, clinging with fear as each chapter unravelled. There was emotional depth, hard truths, a bit of spice and a hella lotta love.
From one broken family to a chosen one, this group of friends are thrown through a loop hiding secrets, protecting Reese and having a life changing event that will cause things to never be the same again.
I’m hooked. I need a minute to process because when I left this book half finished last night as the dreaded working day was coming, it lived in my brain rent free. Hot damn. I’m retiring now to recover.
Very much gave me hallmark movie acting vibes. The writing was corny, cliche, and underwhelming. The plot reminded me a lot of the score by Elle Kennedy, but not as good. I found the FMC unreliable, weak, whin, and a little annoying.
**reread** This was such a fun read. Everything Kelsie Rae writes is fantastic. I’m genuinely so excited to read the rest of this series. I LOVE that it connects to the Don’t Let Me & Little Things series.
I’ve been following Kelsie Rae for quite some time, but this is the first time I’ve experienced one of her books and honestly from what I’ve read I have to say that I’m quite interested in her writing. I enjoy the plot, the flow of the story worked, the characters were likeable and I found myself gripped to the book. This is the first book in a new series and I’m quite interested to see where the series takes off. Whilst I enjoyed the writing and the story, I did find something that stood out to me and I would have liked more of… it would have been interesting to know why Ian did what he did, why he was so captivated on keeping Reese as his even though they had split up. You only get a little insight and that’s from River’s mother… but still it would have been nice to have it all pieced together and a good reasoning. Other than that I couldn’t fault the story, and do think that Kelsie did a great job. I know for a fact that after reading, I do plan on reading more of Kelsie’s work as she is a good writer and has managed to hook me with her writing. I’m excited to see what happens next with the series, but I would recommend giving this book a try, if you’ve never read her work before, it might be good to try it as you may find a new author to love.
Riley didn’t have the greatest upbringing, but the one person she could rely on is her brother Milo, she knows for a fact that if she’s in trouble or needs the help she can turn to him. After choosing to leave Ian because she can’t stand the idea of him sleeping with another woman, she goes to him because she has no where else to go… however, when she turns up at her brothers place, she ends up meeting one of his roommates, but can’t take her eyes off him. He ends up directing her to where her brother is and she can’t help but think that there’s something in the air as yet when she meets the bartender she can’t help but think he’s pretty hot too… In the end she ends up heading back to Milo’s place and it’s arranged so that Reese will be stopping there until she’s back on her feet, and that they’ll go and get her stuff tomorrow… Will Reese end up going back to Ian as he tries to manipulate her??? Or will she stick to her guns and stay with her brother and his friends whilst figuring out what to do next???
"Kelsie Rae writes flawed heroines and heroes that just make the stories flow. Regardless of your childhood, you can rise above to be better than our parents. Such is the case of the siblings, Milo and Reese. Milo protected Reece all throughout her life and he is her safe harbor when her life falls apart. Reese soon finds out that rooming with 4 alpha males is life changing as the guys help her to realize that she is strong and beautiful, especially with the attention of River. Watching them dance around their feelings was so entertaining and when they finally gave it it put a smile on my face. River is swoon worthy. Of course life is not without drama but it just strengthened Reece and River's relationship and their relationship with the other roommates. I cannot wait to see whose story is up next.
""That same electric current pulses, promising a spark that could easily turn into an inferno. I feel his fingers dig into the gray terry cloth along the curve of my lower back before the bruising pressure disappears just as quickly. Like I’m dangerous. Like I’m a ticking time bomb that could detonate at any second. And we’d both be obliterated, causing irreparable damage in the blink of an eye before either of us could help it. But man, what a way to go. "" ~ Reese" ~Cindy

What a wonderful start to the new Wrecked Roommates Series and if Model Behavior is anything to go by Ms Rae will certainly have a hit series on her hands. This is a bit different to previous books I have read by this author, yes it’s a rom com but it also has suspense and I’m sure it will appeal to a wide range of audiences. This is Reese and River’s story and please make sure you have time to finish what you start because there is no putting down once you meet this adorable couple and their friends. River is a man we all want to have our backs, he has a wicked sense of humour, he is swoon worthy and totally alpha but has he met his match in the strong, sassy Reese, a woman who gives as good as she gets, a woman who can hold her own in any situation. When Reese moves into the house her brother Milo shares with three of his seriously hot friends you knew this was going to be an entertaining steamy read, Milo may have warned his friends off his little sister but that doesn’t stop the attraction River and Reese share so will they cross the line, break the rules and risk the friendship and brotherly love ........ This is a perfect read, it’s full of witty banter, great characters and a wonderful storyline that also introduces us to the characters who will hopefully get their own stories down the line. I fell hard and fast for River, I adored Reese and I’m excited for the next read in Wrecked Roommates.
‘Model Behaviour’ is the latest new release from Kelsie Rae, and I felt completely obsessed with this story. If you love cocky bad boy alphas, and forbidden romances, then this is the read for you.
When Reese ends up leaving her cheating ex she has only one place to go... to her brothers house. Unfortunately for Reese, Miles is overprotective and overbearing, determined to ruthlessly protect his sister from anyone and everyone, including his three equally as alpha roommates.
Reese after being in a toxic relationship is unsure of herself, wanting to feel needed and is trying hard to independently carve a new life for herself despite her brothers demanding rules. But when cocky model River sets his sights on Reese, rules start becoming hard to abide by. Will it cost her a relationship with her brother, and are River’s intentions genuine?
This was a gripping read which had me hooked and obsessed with each bad boy alpha. There’s Jake the nerdy brothers best friend who has always been protective and caring where Reese is concerned, Gibbs the oh so charming bar tender, and River the smouldering model who has a revolving bedroom door. With these guys there’s non stop fire and heat and I couldn’t wait to see how the plot developed.
A thoroughly entertaining read, and i read it all in one sitting. It is perfect for those who love forbidden romances and like to crush on alphas.

This book was really good. It was a good medium between Kelsie's Signature Sweetheart Series and the Advantage Play series. It's no wonder with the way Reese's day has went and then she meets arrogant, good looking (who am i fooling, River is hot as hell) River while trying to find her brother.
Its definitely a brother - sister relationship of "I told you so" as Reese must rely on her older brother, Milo, to help her bounce back after she ended her first true relationship. One that Milo says never should have happened, as does his best friend, Jake.
Reese and Milo come from a broken home where Milo took care of his little sister even if it meant that he was caught in the crossfire and hurt. They share an incredible bond from going through a not so ideal childhood. Milo is very protective, even sometimes over protective of Reese.
I mean there is hatred towards one another, hatred towards feelings, misunderstandings, a secret crush, feelings that can't be hidden away, betrayal (a little bit, not too much), and a lot more.
My other favorite part is the epilogue. I mean, swoon 😍....... River is just....yeah, he's just perfect
I can't wait to see what else Kelsie Rae throws at us in the Wrecked Roommates series.
