"You were like a brother to me, Benji,” she told him, pushing against his chest which had somehow over the years become a solid brick wall.
“Let’s get one thing straight, Kat. I was NEVER your brother. Not ever.”
Benji regrets abandoning the woman he always secretly loved, even if there were extenuating circumstances. Now he seeks to reconnect with her before it's too late.
When Katrina’s best friend left their tiny hometown for NYC, she had no idea why he cut her out of his life. The thing she fears most is that it’s all her fault and fixing things seems impossible.
Will they attempt to trust one another again and learn from their past mistakes, or has their nine years apart ruined any chance at happiness?
WARNING: this story contains a nerdy guy turned hot billionaire, siblings with zero filters, foul language, and sexy times that may or may not include a fake bow and arrow.

Friends to lovers. This has me tearing up at times for lost years of two friends that had to go through their own personal hell before meeting up again and taking the friendship into lovers territory. Domestic violence from a ex husband, the death of Benji,s brother that he blames himself for. Katrina is one of triplet,s that are very close and the loss of their mother hitting them all hard. This is a story you can really get into.
This friends-to-lovers, second chance romance will singe your fingertips! I love reading steamy romances, especially when winter hits. There are quite a few tropes going on in this book, many of them are my reading jam. Everything from the emotional narration to the romantic tension to the characters to the hot love scenes…they all make this book an unputdownable read.
The narration is equal parts emotional and descriptive. The author’s prowess is in luring the reader into her world through immersive imagery. Emotions play a huge role in this story, especially between Benji and Katrina.
These characters will tug at your heartstrings. Both Benji and Kat have dark secrets weighing them down. They’ve both gone through traumatic events and are tormented. My heart bled for these two. I wanted to hug the stuffings out of them. It’s impressive how realistic these characters are…they seem so lifelike and leap from the page.
The writing is truly what makes Just You & Me such a wonderful romance. The plot is intricate with multiple storylines going on. Normally that would confuse me, but the author makes sure to intertwine the plotlines in harmony. The pacing is perfect and there is plenty to keep the reader invested. The characters are well-conceived and their growth over the course of the book is impressive.
An addictive romance from start to finish, Just You & Me is a must-read!
Emotional, Heartbreaking and Heartwarming You'll love Kat and Benji's story and it's a great start to the Big Apple Billionaires Series. Very emotional with some twists and surprises. They were best friends and had secret crushes on each other growing up and in college until he abruptly left without saying anything. She assumed that he left because of her but later found out the real reason. After much heartbreak and tragedy in her life she and her sisters moved to NYC where he lived and they reconnected. The chemistry was still there but they had unresolved issues and secrets to be uncovered. This is a wonderful book that was well written with a great story line. The characters were amazing and the book is a page-turner. I read an arc via voracious readers and voluntarily chose to review it.
Friends to lovers via misunderstandings and past traumas
I enjoyed this story but it didn't capture me as other friends to lovers stories have. Benji and Kat were good characters who were childhood friends who both loved each other but never acted on it. Suddenly Benji was gone and Kat had no idea why. In the following nine years, Benji tried to ignore the catalyst for his leaving by burying himself in his work and Kat made the worst decision she could have made which resulted in harrowing results. Now reunited, the feelings come back with a vengeance and they start to act on them but, of course, they don't tell each other the truth about their traumas and that gets in the way of their budding romance. I thought their pasts were sympathetically written but I just wanted them to open up to each other, considering their history, and I knew they would but I didn't care as much as I thought I would. Kat's sisters were also good characters and their stories are told in the next two books in the series. I haven't read those but I have just read Just Want More, the M/M spin-off featuring Rookie, Kat's friend and employee, and that is a five star read that I couldn't put down.
Give me friends to lover trope along with second chances and I'll dive in immediately!
Katrina and Benji, we all know from the reviews that they were friends since they were kids and both harbored a crush on each other but never openly admitted it to each other and when things go south and they grew apart, now years later they meet up again (in the biggest city of the United States to top it off) and damn it sure must have been some major coincidence meeting up again in such a huge state, but I guess that was just fate for them.
Katrina and Benji rekindle and the sparks fly uncontrollably between them and this is where their love will be tested for each other. Will they be able to forgive and forget or will they harbor resentment towards each other??
This book had me hooked, line and sinker! I was drawn to these characters and I loved the story line. I would certainly recommend this book to all those who enjoy this trope, I guarantee you will enjoy it in one sitting.
4 Stars
**Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
I'm a huge fan of friends to lovers and this novel did not disappoint. It was full of regrets, pining and steam, the ultimate combination!
After being apart for years, best friend's Kat and Benji reconnect but Benji has been wanting more, for a very long time. And after seeing him again, all these muscles later 😂 she feels the same.
I loved when they were reunited, the tension was strong, the struggle to keep away was real, I loved it, I wish it had gone on for a little longer but I enjoyed when they got together! 🥵
There were some really beautiful pieces of writing here. The character development for both was strong. The ending felt a tiny bit clichéd to me, however, a cliché here and there is to be enjoyed in romance. I would definitely be interested in reading more in this series.
TW: domestic violence and suicide.
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you to the author for providing me with the ARC, ebook comes out on 31st August so keep your eyes peeled!
Kat and Benji used to be friends until they grew apart. Never telling each order their feelings, they're back together and finally getting to explore where things could go.
This was a sweet second chance romance. The author made you feel for the characters and want them to get their happy ending. There was a lot of fluff throughout the book to the point you could skim a few pages and not miss any details. But the story was still good and the characters are relatable.
There is subject matter that might upset a few people, so please be advised.
I love the friends to lovers genre (not as much as enemies to lovers though) and this story did not disappoint. It was full of regrets, misunderstandings, lost opportunities and finding that special someone, oh and a little steam 😉
After being apart for many years, Kat and Benji reconnect, but Benji has always wanted more from Kat, but had kept quiet, and it’s something he’s always regretted. Kat felt the same way about Benji, but never took the chance.
Failed marriages and relationships have made them wary. But it’s not that easy, misunderstandings have Kat avoiding Benji at first, thinking she was to blame for losing her best friend. But talking resolves a few issues, and they start a tentative friendship. (But secretly pining for one another)
I would have liked a longer story it did feel a little rushed! But I love when they finally plucked up the courage to tell each other how they felt.
This is a new author for me, but I’m definitely interested in continuing with this series. The writer caught all the emotions and brought them to the pages. Loved both Benji and Kat, they were really great characters (and that’s why I wanted more story, when you fall for the characters the book just needs to go on and on)
If you love this genre then this book is definitely for you.

I really enjoy this delightful story. I love second chance books because I like finding out what happened and how are they going to come back together. This story passed my expectations. Katrina and her sisters move to New York for many reasons and so happen to meet someone from her past. She is intelligent, beautiful, and sweet. She is going through many of things and trying her best to get her life together. Benjamin is facing his past head on but don't know exactly how to do it. He is learning as he is healing and dealing with missing something. Join in with me to see two broken souls finally find what they each are looking for been there all along. I had to get really adjusted to Evelyn writing. I was really in a nice treat. Thank you. Really good work Evelyn Jeanie Hall.
Just You & Me is the first book in a series. It features Kat, the oldest of identical triplets, and Benji, her best friend through childhood and college. This is not just a story about second chances. It is a book about overcoming regrets, could-have-should-have-beens and fears. It is heartbreaking and hertwarming at the same time. It also makes the case for honest and open communications when working towards a HEA!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don't usually write reviews, however, this one really had me upset! How dare Kat drop Benji like that. I thought she was cruel and selfish for her actions. Thankfully she saw the errors of her ways and made things right. It was a great plot but never should you keep secrets from someone you love.
The main characters carried lifetime friendship full of ups and downs into a fairy tale ending! I highly recommend this book as long as you have plenty of time to read many tedious details to all romance lovers! Love how this author thinks!
Friends forever till they weren't. 9 years later, can they reconnect or is it too late? Excellent story and characters. Secrets ,truths and trying to let go of the past, can Benji and Kat reconnect? 5 stars and I recommend this book to all
Unfortunately this book was not for me and I couldn’t connect to the characters, the second chance romance or the writing style. I did like the premise though but for now, it’s not for me .
I loved this book. I loved the sisters storyline as well as the hidden love angle. Adding Duncan had just the right amount of suspense. Can't wait to read #2.
After reading the prequel which I had recently received a free copy of, I couldn’t wait to read this book. It did not disappoint! I loved the story of Kat & Benji. The story was well written and easy to read I immediately downloaded book number 2 on completing this book.
Evelyn Jeannie Hall has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Kat and Benji. Kat and Benji had been best friends growing up and through college until Benji just disappeared and stopped talking to her. During the nine years they have not seen each other, she married Duncan and it was not a good marriage. She ends up getting hurt and Duncan goes to prison over it. Now Benji has gotten back in touch with Kat and her sisters Lacey and Elizabeth, and they renew the friendship. Kat had started to have feelings for Benji before he left. She thinks she is the reason he left. Now Kat and her sisters move to New York to start fresh. Benji wants to pick up his friendship with Kat but she is acting like she doesn't want that. Every time he is at their apartment, she goes to her room and stays there. Finally, they talk things out and try to be friends again. Benji has feelings for Kat but he is not sure how they would be received by her. They end up giving in to their feelings for each other and start seeing each other. As they spend more time with each other, Benji knows that he loves Kat and he tells her but she doesn't tell him she loves him. Things go fine until Benji has everyone over for Thanksgiving dinner. Benji, Kat, Lacey, Elizabeth, and Zane, Benji's best friend are getting ready to eat when there is a knock on his door. His father comes in with his young girlfriend and tells Benji that she is pregnant. This news brings everything Duncan did back to Kat. She knows that Benji wants kids and she is unable to give them to him. She knows she has to let him go so that he can find someone who can. She breaks up with Benji and it breaks her heart to do so but he doesn't know she is not whole. Lacey and Elizabeth talk to Kat and tell her that Benji was in love with her. It takes a little time but she understands what she had been doing to herself. She tells her sisters that she is going to go talk to Benji. Benji doesn't want to go home since everywhere there are signs of Kat. He doesn't understand why she left him. He had sent her a few things but she did not even call to thank him so he feels like she doesn't want anything to do with him. He leaves work and goes to the first bar he comes to. Kat tries to call Benji but he doesn't answer. She goes to his apartment but he is not home, she then goes to his office and is told that he has left. She doesn't know where to look for him. She sends him a text message asking "Where are you? Can we talk?" At first, it is ignored but she then calls him and he answers. He tells her where he is and she goes to him. She wants to go somewhere more private so she can tell him what she needs to tell him. She tells him that when she and Duncan split that last night, he hit her and she was pregnant but she lost the baby but that wasn't the worst. He caused so much damage that she can't have children ever. She finally asks Benji if she was the reason he left all those years ago. He tells her the truth about that time in his life. He tells her that he is the reason his brother is dead. They are just holding each other and Kat gets a call from Elizabeth. When she answers the call, Elizabeth is not there. She knows something is wrong when she called her back and the call goes to voicemail. She tries to call Lacey but gets the same results. She tells Benji something is wrong and they need to go. Benji doesn't argue with her since he has seen the bond the triplets have with each other. When they get to her apartment, the front door has been kicked in. She calls the police and is told not to go inside. Benji tells her to stay and wait for the police while he goes in. What he sees when he gets inside makes him mad. Elizabeth is up against the counter with a man in front of her holding a knife asking "Where is my wife?" Benji realized that he is Kat's ex-husband Duncan. Benji knows he has to get Elizabeth away from the man, so he attacks him. Benji gets the better of Duncan and beats him for what he had done to Kat. Will things work out for Kat and Benji? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Benjamin Torres and Katrina Farrell were childhood best friends, until one day they weren’t. Now, 9 years after they’d grown apart, Benji and Kat find themselves in each other’s lives again. Benji has been in love with Kat since they were in middle school, but he’d always thought her beautiful, but he was shocked by how stunning she is now that she’s all grown up. Kat has loved Benji for almost as long, and she wasn’t prepared for the fact that the boy next door grew up to be an insanely attractive, successful man. With the sparks that continuously fly between them, their attraction is undeniable. But which one of them will make the first move?
Okay, so this book had a little bit of everything, and that is absolutely a good thing! There were moments where it was light and humorous, others were it was emotional and intense. Kat and Benji’s chemistry was off the charts, and even though the way they parted ways all those years ago was complicated and painful, the foundation of their friendship was still incredibly strong. I admired how devoted they were to each other, even when they were scared. I would recommend this book to any fans of the friends to lovers romance trope, and romance lovers in general!
'Just You & Me' by Evelyn Jeannie Hall is the first book in her Big Apple Billionaire's series and tells the story of Kat and Benji. Kat and Benji grew up together in a small town in Missouri and were best friends for over 20 years, even through college. They had feelings for each other but neither one of them admitted to it. Benji moved to New York and went to Columbia to finish his education while Kat moved back home. They lost touch for over 10 years. Now Kat has moved to New York with her sisters so they could all have new beginnings. Benji is the first one they call and he comes to visit. The feels between Benji and Kat are still prevalent and still being denied.
Ms. Hall has written a stellar book to kick off her new series. The characters are fabulous, both main and supporting, and the plot line is compelling. This book has all the feels friends to lovers, misunderstandings, trust issues, great dialogue, and plenty of steam. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the friends to lovers trope. I can not wait for the next book in the series.

#justyouandme is book one in the #bigapplebillionairesseries by @evelynjeanniehallauthor
This book had a lot of potential. I loved the storyline and most of the book in general. There were times for me it was hard to figure out who was talking and who was thinking what.
Benji and Kat are perfect together. They have grown up together and know. Each other forever. After losing touch when Benji leaves, they finally see each other again after 9 years. Neither of them have a change of feeling words each other in all that time. They are soul mates. No debating it. MAN do they have some chemistry 🔥🔥
But I hate to say it all the time but I just don’t love third person books. I want to know what’s going on it their brains! I need to feel their emotions! Especially with some heavy topics that they discussed.
If you like second chance and best friend romance, but don’t mind third person. This book is for you.
My, what an awful time these two had before they got their second chance! Benji and Kat have known each other forever and have probably been in love since they were teenagers. All sorts of misunderstandings and disasters fell upon them after they graduated from college. They finally reunite, but their secrets burn them up inside, and they can't be honest until they hurt each other even more. She is an identical triplet and moves to NJ, outside NYC, with her sisters because their mom always wanted to go there. There is a lot of very charming, hot, and descriptive sex. The author writes these scenes well. The book would have been just as good if he had just been rich, not necessarily a billionaire. I imagine the other sisters will each get their own book. I look forward to them!

When Benji's brother passed away and it hit him hard and he left for a fresh start in NY. He just up and left with no explanation to Katrina, this left her utterly confused, abandoned and heartbroken. Heartbroken from so many things in her life…. Katrina and Benji grew up together, best friends always. But his brother died and, without a word to anyone, he left for a new start in New York. Katrina felt the abandonment deeply, not sure why, so very confused by his behavior. She blames herself and there is nothing she can do to reach him.
When a move by Katrina and her sisters ends up reconnecting them with Benji, will they still want to reconnect and start over? Can they get through the inevitable pain and mistrust they have lived with after his sudden departure? Or can they communicate and forgive mistakes and make a life together?
Katrina was a tomboy growing up and Benji was her best friend. They even remained best friends through high school and college. But then Benji moved away and they lost touch with each other. Now, Benji has reached out to Katrina to rekindle their friendship.....or does he want something more? As they spend more and more time together, they realize they want more than just friendship. However, it will mean being open about things from their past which leads to some bumps in the road. Katrina and Benji are both likeable and you can't help but root for them to find their HEA.

Benji and Kat have been best friends since they were six. When their relationship could have evolved into more, Benji ran from his life due to his guilt over the death of his brother. He offered Kat no explanation and basically ghosted her. Ten years later, they meet up again and the old feelings are still there. Benji has to explain why he left and Kat has secrets of her own. Good story of old friends becoming new again and having to catch up to the changes in their lives. There is some suspense when Kat's past catches up to her and the story had just the right amount of angst.
This entertaining book combines the friend to lovers and second chance romance tropes.
Kat and Benji get a chance to make things right when she ends up in NYC with her triplet sisters to honor their mother’s dying wishes. Their path was a bit bumpy because of past relationships, work and of course misunderstandings but when they finally get together- Magical!.
The story could have been mundane but throw in a thriller twist toward the end and it didn’t. Look forward to her sisters’ stories that lie ahead.
