Kyra was 18 when she read her first romance, 19 when she left the US for the UK, 20 when she decided to stay in London, 25 when she met her now husband, 30 when she got married, 31 when she had kid 1, 33 when she had kid 2, and 36 when she was diagnosed as autistic.
She now lives a few miles outside London with her husband, the two (likely neurodivergent) kids, and a cuddly cocker spaniel named Patch who likes to roll in bird crap.
Not all of her stories have neurodivergent FMCs but representation is important, especially when so many women are not diagnosed until well into later life!
She writes PNR, Romantasy, and Contemporary why choose where the enemies to lovers journey is rough but worth it!

Trapped to Tame is the fifth book in The Dark Brothers series and features Eve, Drax, Priest and Fie. Eve has lived a life of brutality, slavery and assault. Despite her horrendous chains, Eve has managed to continue to keep her head and spirit afloat. She believes that she will be free one day even if she has to die trying. Eve is so much more than just your average human slave and it's only a matter of time before she is set free to shine. She just needs the right push!
Drax, Priest and Fie are Fae and on a mission to locate the woman that can open a portal so they may save their kind. When they come upon Eve, she is fighting a man three times her size and she is nothing they expected. They must devise a plan to enlist her help. When the brothers scent Eve though, they realize she is part of a Fae bloodline they hate and they will force her to help using whatever means possible. They will not give her a choice.
However, the more time they all spend together and after an unfortunate moment that binds Eve to the brothers, they realize that the animosity they feel for her may be misplaced. Is it too late to win Eve's affections? Could losing Eve mean the destruction of their unit and their kind?
What I love most about these stories is that Alessy takes men that are borderline non-redeemable and somehow makes me love them by the end. I spend most of these books wanting to stab their eyeballs out but I always end up forgiving them. In Drax, Priest and Fie's case...these men should have been on their knees begging Eve for forgiveness and while it didn't exactly happen like this they atoned for their actions and apologized in their own ways fitting their personality. I love that Alessy writes these possessive, dominant and obsessive men even when they haven't realized it themselves that the woman meant for them is standing right in front of them.
Eve...she was everything. Beaten down through most her life and she just kept rising like a phoenix and I adored that about her. She had this unique strength tinged with soft femininity that made her a fantastic character. This was such an excellent installment in this series filled with suspense, hot AF encounters between Eve and her men and characters that grow together in such a beautiful way. Love this series.
Kyra’s Dark Brothers are all delicious, scarred by life, and DARK. So,when the ARC of Trapped to Tame arrived,i couldn’t wait to find out about Drax’,Priest’s and Fie’s story. And who the Fourth was that would melt their blackened hearts…… It was a hell of a ride, and i cursed them A LOT,but it was só worth it in the end!!!
Eve hasn’t known anything but having to fight for her life. Being an orphan meant she had to either sell her body,or fight. And the one she thought she could trust decided she had a talent for fighting. She was allowed to win sometimes, but she was forced to lose, too. And the price for losing was high….
Drax,Priest and Fie are searching for the one person that can help them get through the portal towards Underhill, where the children of the fae are. When they finally find her,the knowledge of who she is,makes them hate her on sight. Her attempts at escaping are laughable, and her so-called ignorance of the fae way of life is unconvincing. She may have used her size to her advantage in the ring, but she isn’t fooling them. Because even though she’s small, she’s fast and tough. But they’re better fighters by far,and they have no trouble teaching her a lesson or two.
Her latest attempt at escaping lands her in the Dark Army Camp, where she tries to join them. Only it all backfires when Priest,as the men had caught up with her just in time, fights her for it. Her losing means she has to go to the pleasure tents, and thát’s the last thing they need! So,they force her to become their Fourth.
Taking her with them to Underhill,is the next step. The things they find out about her on the journey there, are…. If they’re real, she’s not what they thought she was,and Drax and Fie start to see her in a different light. It’s a good thing Priest isn’t fooled by her….right?
This story was tough. I started to think these three men were beyond redemption. The things they did to Eve? She didn’t deserve any of it,and they didn’t even see! They should’ve groveled! They should’ve gone down on their knees to beg for her forgiveness! But,as it was,the things they díd do were good enough for Eve…. And in the end that’s all that matters.
Knowing there’s only one book left in this series makes me sad. Because i don’t want to leave this magical world with it’s wonderful people!!
Another book in The Dark Brothers series that I have read within 24 hours.
So good! It amazes me how Kyra is able to create so many male characters that you both hate then love.
In #5 the heroine is strong, very strong. She never loses a fight against a man unless she is told she has to lose, however, with everything that she has been through she still finds the small things to enjoy.
The 3 Fae detest Eve at the first whiff of her. Eve doesn't know it, but there is more to her than meets the eye. The Fae know exactly who, or better, what she is and there is a reason she is so strong and can kill a man with her bare hands.
This can be read as a standalone as far as the relationship between the 4 characters, but there are scenarios where other Dark brothers and their fourths are seen and if you have read the previous 4 books you will know exactly who they are and what their stories are. Also, there is a storyline that interconnects between the 5 books and it helps with context and to follow what the characters mention if you have read the other 4 books.
Kyra did it again with this one- I’m not sure how she manages to write three amazing alpaholes with a kick butt heroine every time, but she does! We meet Eve in this book, who is half fae and sold as a baby to pay off a debt for her wealthy father. Her keepers realize shes much stronger than a normal human even when half starved. Her fae father has wronged Drax, Priesf and Fie who need her to help complete a mission and win her in her fighting ring. The story itself is engaging, filled with action and has plenty of the spice we love from Krya’s books. I enjoyed this read and got 75% of the way through in one sitting before I had to stop (because, sleep). Can’t wait for February and her next release!
I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest review.
Trapped to Tame is a little different from the previous Dark Brothers books, because while some of the characters may have had magicks from the Dark Realms, or even come from there themselves, this is the first time they've all been Fae. I found this book to be much darker (pun not intended) to the first four books, as while the others have either alluded to or skirted depictions of abuse, Trapped to Tame doesn't tiptoe around it. Eve had been used and abused for years, knows little of the outside world, cannot read, and is completely unaware of natural occurrences within her own body. Fie, Drax, and Priest are not nice, and all three of them are guilty of mistreating Eve, but Priest's sins are the worst. To see his own guilt and loathing at his behaviour redeems him, but it all isn't an easy read. I love this series, and look forward to the final installment, where hopefully all my questions will be answered.
Also pretty fine, Kyra clearly gets better the more she writes. I liked the portal part and Priest's character. I also liked Fie. So much world building but whatever. I also don't really care at the end about the God paying Eve's dad to capture the fae children, I hope that the next book doesnt focus on that too much.
I have now read all the books in this series. It was an endurance challenge to be sure. Not because it was slow because it was not.
There is just so many things that was wrong with these books. I will try to get to them all.
The first book in the series didn't really go with the others. The other characters tied into the other books. It was only in the last book that the characters from the first book are seen again. And only for a brief insignificant moment. As if the writer realized it and added that part to tie them in. One of the things in the first book that bothered me was the MFC inherited an estate. A beautiful well kept estate. But she chose to live with her men in an old rundown forge. 🤨 Why??
All the books in the series flowed well until the very last were the ending was so rushed it was unbelievable. Things that never were explained. Other things that needed to be unpacked weren't. The book were not long enough to fully explain the things that should have been explained. As if the writer got bored or just ran out of steam.
I would say that this series could have been great with more effort but it couldn't. The writer can tell a story well. But there is a constant problem in all her books. Even in her other series. The abuse all the MFCs went through in these books was so horrible. Many times the abuse was inflicted solely by the MMCs. Unforgivable things. The only people who I think could understand and relate the the MFCs is someone suffering from stockholm syndrome. To be abused this severely and not only be able to forgive and forget but also fall in love with the person or persons doing it is a warped reaction.
The spicy scenes were not. They were for the most part assault. Luckily the were rushed as well.
I must say reading this series and another by this writer makes me concerned If she truly believes the things that she has put in these books as acceptable in a relationship. It points to accepted abuse.
It concerns me that many young writers now day are writing books like this. There is already to much violence against women in the world. All these books do is gives the WRONG people the idea that all women truly want to be treated this way. It's all fun and games and fantasy until someone really gets hurt. I don't like the thought of books being banned but if things keep going in this direction I fear it might happen.

Another great book by Alessy!! She never disappoints!
The three brothers in Trapped to Tame are Fae. They find Eve who is half Fae, half human. The Fae brothers are Drax, Priest and Fie. I had a harder time than usual warming up to even one of these guys. I loved Eve and really felt bad for everything she’d been through. I never found myself really liking Priest. He was a snob and really nasty. Drax and Fie warmed up to her the fastest, actually Drax first. But they fought it because of who her Fae father was. Poor Eve didn’t even know her parents, or that she was half Fae. But out of the three guys, I think I like Drax the most.
The world building in this book was AWESOME!! They took portals through a number of interesting Dark Worlds. It was really cool!!
Alessy writes the most AMAZING characters, and character growth!!! I’m in awe of every book she writes!! The next book, number 6, is the last of the series. *sigh* But I can’t wait to read what she writes next!!! She is definitely a one-click author for me!
Each book in this series is a standalone, but part of a series. They all take place in the same world. You really should read them in order because of the way things tie in. But no cliffhangers!!
If you enjoy dark fantasy and RH romance, you will love this series!! The writing is FANTASTIC!!
This series just keeps getting better! A new book, a new heroine, and a new trio of brothers 🖤 The world building and character development is always amazing, we meet characters from older books and get to see what they are up to now, I love that the world and the towns and cities now seem so familiar to me through reading all the books and the way they are all interwoven with eachother. The brothers start off broody and at times can be downright cruel but it all makes for a sweeter HEA. Our heroine is strong (quite literally) but also headstrong and wilful, but she also have a very vulnerable sensitive side. It’s not an easy journey becoming their fourth, but it is soooooo good I will definitely be reading again and recommend this book to anyone who loves RH particularly dark RH 🖤
I actually love that I start out each book in this series hating the men and males. I'd still like to see a woman or female be the one in control. I love the ending. If the next book/s don't answer the question of what happens for previous characters, then I'm going to need to read the bonus stories in the e-mail subscription.
Loved the FMC. Love a woman who can fight and loves it. Priest earned a piece of my hatred for his actions which cannot be forgiven despite ‘his efforts’ towards forgiveness. I can’t completely forgive him. It’s definitely a harder read than some of the other books in the series.
I was looking forward to a version of this world where the female protagonist, raised as a fighter, wasn't so weak. But the men still overpowered her so easily that it didn't come across as I'd hoped. However, the story remained gripping, and the incorporation of fae elements was intriguing.
