This book (and the touch and feel animals one in the same series) are so confusing to me. The choices for what objects to include and the sounds they make…I just don’t get it. Regardless, my kid loves touching the furry animals. (Also, why make a touch and feel book with so few things to actually feel? Over half the pages just have some glittery paper with no texture.)
Anyway, I’d give it a lower review but my son loves two pages in this so much that he’d probably give it 5 stars.
This is the first book my son pointed at while I’ve been reading to him. We read as often as I can considering my work schedule and he has never appeared more interested in a book as he had this one. If I made an animal noise, he pointed at which animal it was. I’m glad I picked this one for tonight’s read.
Not much “feel” too the book. Only a couple pages had something to feel. Also the words were not very child friendly. Could use more childlike things to show. Things they might actually see and say at a young age.
Such a sweet book for my new little cousin. I love the large photos and especially the touch of the fur, etc in the book. I think any curious baby would love this book.
Synopsis:"Irresistible to the very young, these delightful new novelty books feature favorite animals and familiar objects, with different tactile patches to feel and explore. Perfect for little hands to explore again and again, these sturdy books encourage toddlers to make the vital connection between words and pictures. Full color."
My Review: Munchkin enjoyed this one, though not every page was a true touch and feel, some were just flashy. I liked how it wasn't just animals on the farm but also other things you might see like tractors, wheat and buckets. Not really a super unique book but some nice elements to it.
This was one of the first books given to Devin and he liked it even when he was really young. It was his first touch-and-feel book, so he really liked it even though there were only a minimal amount of textures in this one. However, it was colorful, and shiny, and kept him interested.
This would be better with more textures. The duck and the chick would be easy to add texture to instead of just having a glittery pond (which the duck is standing on top of, not swimming in) and a glittery flower. I would choose other touch and feel books over this one.
My son seemed fascinated by this book and especially liked to touch the fur on the puppy dogs.
However, it's a random assortment of farm things, not enough textures to "touch and feel", and it uses 'sheepdog' instead of just 'dog' which just seems confusing to someone who's just learning words...
Although the book was a good idea, the follow through just wasn't done throughly. Some of the items were lacking texture which was honestly very annoying. All in all not a bad idea just could have been done better!
