If I Had a Magic Wand is a beautifully written children’s book that is wrote in lyrical style and shows us that love is love no matter if the child is yours biologically or adopted or whatever the case may be. Love is Love . What a sweet little book with as my son said pretty pictures of different people holding hands. This made my momma heart sing. I highly recommend this children’s book to anyone with children of any age. It’s a great reminder that Love is Love. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

If I Had a Magic Wand by Melissa Lavi is a sweet, illustrated children’s storybook that can be enjoyed by both young and old… It is written is a poetic, lyrical style- which certainly adds to the whole feel of this sweet, heart-warming book.
This is a story of a mother’s wish for her baby/children- passing the wishing wand from mother to mother as they each make wishes for their little ones. The messages are touching, tender, sweet, poignant, and inspirational. As I mother, I can really relate to all of the wishes and definitely wish the same for my children and grandchildren, also.
A lovely story to read your child at bedtime, leaving them with meaningful messages of love, hope, family, and unity as they nod off to sleep….

This was a cute, uplifting kids book. It definitely wasn't just a book for kids, as a mom I find it very endearing. Moms (and Dads) are hard-working, love unconditionally, and only want the very best for their children. However, as parents we learn quickly that we are not perfect, we can't fix everything, and our children will hurt, cry, etc. Oohh, but we all wish we had a magic wand to make sure our little ones never have to deal with the struggles of life! If we did, we would use it all the time. This story reminded me that we are not perfect, but that we strive for that perfection for our children. In addition, from the child's point of view, the story also lets them in on the secret that while we may not always succeed in the perfection journey, we do try very hard!!

Beautiful! BEAUTIFUL! B-E-A-UUUUUUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
This book hits me right in the mommy heart! I love how it pretty much says it all with hopes of how we all want our babies to be!

I also love the illustrations throughout the book! It shows us that even though parenting can be different standpoints we all want the absolute best for our babies. It doesn't matter if you are black, white, purple, green, or even pink. It doesn't matter if you are a single dad, single mom, or the Brady bunch. Wanting your child to be kind is the same from us all.

I would 1000000% give this book a 100 stars. 5 is just not enough!
I read this digital on my kindle, but I am going right now to order it in a hard copy so I can read it over and over to my babies!

This book is so beautiful and heartwarming! If I had a Magic Wand is a book about wishes for our babies and children of the world. The magic wand is handed from parent to parent and baby to baby throughout the pages. With each pass there is another wish/dream for our babies. It's also a rhyming book so kids can learn at the same time as reading a book for bedtime. This magical book shares messages for all parents, soon to be parents, and anyone who believes in the magic of our children's futures. I got this book for my girls who are 7 and 10. Of course with them both it was an easy read, but they enjoyed the pictures and the wishes as the book went along. I think this would be a wonderful baby shower book or maybe even a 1st birthday book for kiddos. So pretty and inspiring!

This is a beautifully written and illustrated story. The story is what a parent/caregiver would wish for their baby - from filling the heart with love, beauty and kindness, to faith and courage, to peace and love and protection. All of the things a new parent wants for their baby. But - in the end, there is no need for magic- because the magic is the new baby and all that it brings into the world. The illustrations in this book are gorgeous and diverse - representing mothers/fathers/caregivers from all over the world and the joy that a new baby brings into their lives.
This is a great bedtime story - one that will bring sweet dreams.

A book of wishes to share with your children. I think the wishes can be shared with all ages. If I Had a Magic Wand by Melissa Lavi is a 5 star children’s book. My mother bought my children a book a couple years ago titled something like, If I Could Keep You Little and this book, while different, had a similar comforting feel to it. My mother recently passed so I cherish this book’s similarities a lot. If I Had a Magic wand really illustrates what any parent, or adult in general, wants for a child in their life… love, happiness, kindness, the list goes on. The illustrations in this book are as beautiful as the well wishes too. A great addition to any bedtime story shelf!

I found If I Had a Magic Wand to be a very cute story. My 6 year old didn't love it. He sat through it but said they should do cooler stuff with a magic wand. Even after I explained the book, he still didn't seem too interested. The rhyming was good and made the story flow. I love love the illustrations. I love the parents passing the wand, to what I interpreted as other parents as well as their kids. I love that different nationalities and genders and ages were represented throughout the story.

I loved the message and how the wand was passed to each adult. It was a sweet story about what we as parents or caretakers want for our babies. My heart melted and I shed tears when reading this book. I am so glad I read it alone before sharing it with my little ones because my momma heart exploded. This is a beautifully written and illustrated story. It is a story of a mother’s wish for her child, passing the wishing wand from one mother to another – all the messages are just the same, a wand to vanquish all the struggles of a child’s life.
It is a beautiful story, primarily written for the children to understand the struggle and the love of the parents. But the book adds a lot of meaning to an adult, or a mother or father who want the best for their kids. The language is poetic and lyrical. It was a very soothing, heart touching book.

Worthwhile Wishes

“If I Had A Magic Wand” is a sweet story full of lovely wishes from multiple parents to their respective children. The illustrations are simple but full of sentiment and diversity, even though the feelings expressed by each parent are universal.

Additionally, I enjoyed watching the wand being passed from parent to parent, as well as the interaction between each family unit. Overall, it was an appealing story and worth reading.

For me, this book is about what all mothers would wish for their child, a world filled with love. The language is simple enough for young children to understand; the rhyming is delightful throughout; every page has a beautiful message. I can read this book to my child every single day. This was such an adorable and sweet story. It made me quite emotional reading it as a parent because these are some I things I would wish for my little boy. I read it to my 3 year old at bedtime and thought what a beautiful bedtime story it made for young children. The art work is beautiful, the words are beautiful, I loved everything about this book. I think it is every parents wish to be able to sprinkle some sort of fairy dust on their kids to protect them, teach them and give them all they would need. My favorite part of this book is how after each page, the wand is then passed to a different mother or father, and they are from all different races, countries and backgrounds. The love for your own child extends across the world.

Words have escaped me when it comes to this book! I love the underlying message of the book, that everyone has magic inside of them, but not the kind of magic one would think! This is such an important book to read to little ones, it will instill self confidence in them from an early age. Wow! I love this so much! It would be a perfect story for either bedtime or just a snuggle time story. Even new parents would enjoy this beautifully rhymed book!

I throughly enjoy little stories like this to read to my grandchild. They are quick, thoughtful and the way the wand is passed around is perfectly done. The pictures accompanied by the lovely words make this one a keeper.

This is a beautiful collection of wishes for our babies. It was truly heartwarming to read and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. The illustrations were beautiful and really pulled the collection together. I loved how the magic wand was passed on from parent to parent and baby to baby throughout. I wish that I had this collection when my (now grown) sons were babies. This is a must for any parent, soon-to-be- parent, or even grandparent, aunt, or uncle to add to their library. I really thought that this was such a sweet book. I would recommend it for any new parent. I think that even though it is supposed to be geared towards a baby etc that it would suit even for a parent to an older child. I myself think that it would be a great gift for a mother to give her daughter as she is about to have her first child. The poems are very sentimental and sweet. I really was quite moved by this book. Highly recommended.

This was a really cute book! It's perfect for little babies and young children, and if you have just had a child be prepared for the emotions because this one will probably get you. I really enjoyed reading this one and automatically thought of my daughter, because I hold so many of the same wishes mentioned in this book in my heart for her and her future. I really liked this story and highly recommend it!

This is a short but heartwarming story giving guidance and wishes from parent to parent on what they want to instill in their kids as they grow up.

The illustrations are beautiful and watching the wand be passed parent to parent and child to child was just charming.

This is the first book I've read by the author. If I had a Magic Wand is a fun little read. If you're a new mom to be or a mom of several this will make you feel loved.

This book I couldn't choose a quote from because the entire book would be the quote. This book made me and my little one smile. I remember thinking along the same lines as the author.

Highly recommended for Kids and Family lovers.

This book beautifully expresses the love and wishes all parents have for their children. The magic wand represents all our wishes, but love is all we really need. The little ones will love to see the magic wand handed off from family to family.
