New enemies, new allies.

I survived my first year at Fortuna Academy. Lucifer met my mates and it wasn’t totally mortifying. I met Azriel’s mom and she’s not that bad. We’re all back at school and we have a mission—find that prophecy and figure out who tried to poison Keane. Everyone in our group has a least favorite Hellhound they suspect of doing the deed, but really, we have nothing.

That is, until Lilith comes through with information from school records. Both Hellhounds that have been harassing me have secrets, but this one ties back to Keane and the Lilim.

We finally find the prophecy as we gather more allies. Even with the warlock police and Hellhounds on our side, I’m woefully under prepared for any of this. Suck it up, buttercup. That’s my only option. With Lucifer as my father and all the prophecies surrounding my birth, the only thing I can do is figure things out.

I’m the Princess of Hell. I can do this, right?

So I’m not necessarily complaining but this book had countless sex scenes like Hayley was working on her own PornHub category. Not gonna lie, it was a bit overwhelming at times and I just wanted the focus to be on the plot and her growing relationship with her harem (outside of the bedroom). We do learn who her 5th and final member is though he’ll have a ways to go to earn forgiveness and acceptance. The small circle of supes who know her parentage remains a scant few but it’s all her enemies want to know, the why remains to be seen. Hayley is still not my favorite character, she seems very fake and too quick to change her mind. Hopefully she can begin to live up to her powers and whatever prophecy she’s included in by the end of the series!

Spoilers!

I would give this book 2.5 stars. Many of my issues with the first book carried over. During several areas of the book when there isn't dialog it feels like we are just being told facts in a monotone voice.

There was a huge lack of character relationship development. From our perspective the Mc goes from never having kissed Kirnon to having sex. We find out she has been having sex with Azriel in an offhand comment. And there is such a lack of relationship building with Colvyn it's just sad, especially with how well he was introduced at the end of the first book.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.

This story begins with the last half of Hayley’s first year at Fortuna Academy and her mate Keane recovering from someone trying to murder him. The attempt on his life actually got his mother Lilith involved with their little group. Haley’s been learning magic and she’s still being tutored by all her mates: Kirnon with magical history, Azriel with magic and Keene with Hellfire. They are still trying to find the Prophecy about Hayley while also wondering what all those Hellhounds are up to.

Gaius and his group are trying to scare Hayley into joining them, but none of them seem quite, I don’t know, evil I guess. Rhys is still an entitled dumbass. He thinks he can just have sex with Hayley and suddenly his magic cock will get her on their side. He isn’t just entitled, he is definitely evil. No one outside of their ‘packs’ actually knows who they’re working for. No matter what kind of scene we see Rhys in, he’s never up to anything that looks good. Gaius on the other hand seems to be more than a little conflicted. His hound loves Hayley but he’s jealous about all the men she constantly has with her. He’s also upset with the orders he’s being given in respect to Hayley and finding out who her father is.

Hayley is a really busy girl. Besides the three soulmates she already has, she finds another one! Colvyn, an Incubus, just happens to be in the room next door to Hayley. This is most definitely a Reverse Harem Romance since she and the boys are getting busy regularly now. Ms. Trepagnier again has written an exciting story here. There’s plenty of smexy time, lots of confusion and distrust involving Hellhounds and Hayley even meets the families of all her mates! I could not put this story down so I can’t wait for the next Fortuna Academy book!

Needs some tidying

The book is decent but there is a point in the book where it’s difficult to know the timeline of events. Some of the things that happen on the page are vague enough to keep you interested but never end up being detailed enough…although it finally happens at the end of the book.

There are several times where things with the harem happen off page, or events casually mentioned that happened off page that I found myself wishing I had been able to read live.

We still need more interactions between her and the guys. We need to see their love and things happen.

Rhys is creepy. Totally creepy.

I’m interested in moving forward though.

Still agreeing on what I wrote in the previous review regarding Fortuna Academy year 1. But this time it was worse. I found the connection between Hayley and her 4 mates children-like and sometimes even forced due to the prophecy and Lilith, everything was instant and the fact the she keeps repeating to her new mates that the prophecy was about 5 mates at their first encounter seems too forced and unbelievable. And what I dislike is the “Oh, yes, I fell a pull to you too. Let’s be mate!” yuhuu without even trying to get to know that person. I didn’t expect to be like this the second book. The knowledge thrown in it was okay, nothing too complicated or detailed like previously. The time seems to pass differently at Fortuna Academy as there was a huge plot hole during summer break. I think the author didn’t come out with a few scenes that could be made to reinforce the already existing bond and skipped directly to the start of the new year after Hayley briefly met her mates’ parents -it was only one chapter btw.
I will keeping reading this series but I have zero expectations for the next book.

Until next time

I like this one more then the first. Hayley is coming into her own. She’s made it through the first year of school, met several of her mates and is finding a groove for life. The love life is getting hotter and I feel like the next book is going to be filled with a lot a trials since finding out her last mate isn’t one she wants. (Not that she wanted the first one). If you’re into YA and don’t want in depth sex scenes you may not want to read. There isn’t a lot of sex but one scene is particularly graphic and a 2 on 1 scene. I’m all for the sex so it’s just a bonus for me!

This book was even better than the first, Hayley has dropped the awful brattiness, and even has empathy for her mates, and she and her mates are closer than ever. There is still a cloud on their horizon, the hell hounds are still up to something and Keene's poisoner is still free, but Lilith's on the trail! This was an amazing read that I couldn't stop, I just can't wait to start book 3, Inferno!

Still a bit lacking in detail but I’m enjoying the story

Everything always seems to go too quickly with very little relationship development. The story line is interesting enough but not particular memorable. The characters seem like they’d be really interesting I just wish we got more of that.

It’s one of those books that technically don’t need to be a separate book since it’s quite short and has no own story arc, but is part of a greater story that is randomly split up in separate books. Nevertheless I love the characters and the story is good. I will read the next book immediately after.

Good lord how annoying.
Everything was so convenient and coincidental in this one. I only got 45% in before I have up. There is no push and pull? If that makes sense, it just flows conveniently and boringly. Sort of like 'Oh that's an issue! Oh here's a solution, ok everything is fine now'.

It's a nice light read. I'm still struggling with the narrator for the audiobook because everyone sounds the same but the storyline is decent. There's a few gaps or quick jumps that take me a moment to realize what's going on.

Things are heating up, both in plot and Romance. This is definitely NSFW. Great pace, great plot, and even though there are a lot of characters, the story is told in such a way that the information isn't overloading.

I can't believe that Rhys thinks that raina is involved with them enough to think "Me fucking Hayley from behind while she licked that female Hellhound’s pussy." would actually work, the moron🤦🏻‍♀️ He is so delusional it's painfull.

Awesome Read

I can’t believe that’s where it ended. Just stopped. That Psycho hell hound is gonna get everyone killed because he’s selfish and so is the prince.

Definitely goes 0 to 60 with the smut, and it could have been done better. But at least the plot is still developing.
