Meet Kori Briggs...

...astute, fearless member of an elite and super-secret American intelligence team. A self-described "femme badass," Kori is a highly trained agent, an expert in self-defense, a dedicated Scotch drinker, and a drop-dead beauty whose closest friend is her Glock nine-millimeter Luger.

In this action-packed Kori Briggs debut novel, Kori is on the trail of a madman who has managed to steal a hundred pounds of uranium and, with the help of an equally twisted Russian scientist, is intent on detonating a nuclear bomb somewhere in the world. But when and where?

Come along with Kori on this vicarious thrill ride as she follows clues from Washington, DC to New York City, Russia, Israel, and finally, Paris, the "City of Lights."

There is action, there is romance, there is adventure. And behind it all, there is the incomparable spirit of Kori Briggs.

The blurb for this book sparked my interest - a strong, friendly, and super-secret American agent is tasked with saving the day from a madman who has stolen uranium and is planning to detonate a nuclear bomb somewhere in the world. Unfortunately, it just fell a bit short. I like Kori, but I wasn't completely smitten with her. Rather than just random 10 seconds of flirting with men, I would have liked to have seen more of her relationship with Anya. The story didn't really surprise me, even though I was waiting for a big twist. Despite this, what I really valued about this book was the level of detail and research evident in it.

Qotd: If you were in a secret organization, what would you want to be your groups goal?

The Dark Tetrad by A P Rawls is the first book in a new thriller series about Kori Briggs. It is non stop action with characters you can’t help but root for!

The President of the US has just discovered that 100 pounds of Uranium has been stolen in Russia, he turns to the Rampart Agency, a secret agency that houses Kori Briggs.

With loveable characters, and dialogue that is sometimes cliche, but overall very enjoyable, the action begins page 1 and doesn’t let up through the entire novel. This book was thriller and kept me on the edge of my seat!

Kori was such a great main character and the writing style was easy to follow and enjoy. This book goes by extremely quick and I can’t wait for book 2!

So this book is not something I would typically choose although I love true crime and a good crime drama I normally only read fantasy! But when  I saw the blurb for this book, a kick ass female member of an elite and super-secret American intelligence team racing to save the day from a madman who has stolen pounds of uranium and, with the help of an equally twisted Russian scientist, is intent on detonating a nuclear bomb somewhere in the world I just wanted to try it!
Unfortunately it just feel a bit short although I like Kori I didn't quite fall in love with her, I loved her relationship with Anya and would have liked to have seen more of there friendship rather than  just random 10 seconds of flirting with men that didn't really go anywhere. I was also waiting for a big twist which didn't really happen. Although it was an ok read I won't be racing to read more of this genre

Kori Briggs is a "femme badass"! It's important to know this because she is on a mission to stop madmen. The President of The Unted states has enlisted Kori's elite intelligence team to find the man who stole 100 pounds of uranium from Russia and the scientist who will turn it into a nuclear bomb. Kori is on the case and she must bring down these madmen before they detonate a nuclear bomb.

This book is an action packed page turner from the first to the last page. We get to see Kori's spy skills put into action all across the globe as she tracks the clues to finding these dangerous criminals. She's fierce and deadly and she won't stop until she brings these men down. This book is filled will lots of adventure and a little romance in beautiful cities all over the world. I can't wait to read book two to see what happens next!

I read this book in 2 days. I was so engrossed in a character that is a "badass" secret agent. She works for Rampart, an intelligence agency, filled with the best agents.

The book is filled with nonstop action as they attempt to track down stolen uranium. It is determined it will be made into a nuclear bomb. But where in the world will it be detonated and when?

The characters are memorable. Kori Briggs is remarkable and the respect her boss, Eaglethorpe, has for her skills and intuition is truly inspiring.

I would add more to my review, but I just realized there is a second in this series. Thus, I leave you knowing I highly recommend this book. But I need to depart to read the next book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Dark Tetras is a Kobi Briggs Novel by A P Rawls. This thriller is fabulous and beyond exciting. The President of the US has just been told that 100 pounds of uranium has been stolen in Russia. This news has the President turning to Rampart Agency, a top secret US agency. Rampart’s Chief, Eaglethorpe, and Agent Kobi Briggs are sent to stop a nuclear warhead from being made. This thriller has everything I want in a book, foreign Agents, crazy/evil bad guys, multiple sites and countries and so much more! This book is so very good and I am looking forward to reading more books by A P Rawls. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

I noticed this book on book sirens. I received this book for free for the purpose of this review.

It's been quite awhile since I've read a good political thriller, I'm not sure why I haven't stuck to the genre in awhile but I am glad to have stumbled upon your book.

It took me 2 days to read and it's quite the page turner. After I finished it felt like I wanted to read the next in the series.

Great heroine, great plot, it will also leave you guessing who the villian might be.

Off to read the next book.

A suspenseful thriller that has non stop action from start to finish. While some of the dialog was a bit cliche, I did enjoy two confident, cocky women working together to solve a seemingly impossible problem. While it does require some suspension of belief in how this could all go down, I did enjoy the chase and I would like to see the characters again.

Excellent spy caper with a female protagonist that can hold her own with the many others that are out the to entertain readers of the genre. As a member of a super secret club reporting only to the president, our heroine possesses all the skills necessary to save the world from an illicit nuclear weapon. I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.

Fast paced and full of action, this is a great book to take on holiday and suspend reality for a while. I found the lead character hard to like and that detracted a bit for me, but the story is amazing!

Were you a fan of Alias? This book has it all - an intelligent, attractive woman who thrives on intrigue, suspense, crime and unraveling mysteries.

The plotline develops quickly, the characters are believable and I read it straight through the night to find out who did it!

This book was decent! Though definitely a bit trite and predictable, this book kept my attention throughout. My main complaint was that the female characters definitely felt like they were very much written by a man with a weird antiquated view of what a powerful woman looks like and talks like (for example, this character didn’t have time for relationships yet all the men always loved her, she ate as much as she want and still remained skinny, etc., etc. all those fun tropes that were super prevalent in the early days of second wave feminism). However, what I really appreciated about this book was the level of detail and research clearly put into it; I love a super fleshed out world and this one definitely fit the bill!
