Nicole Falls is a contemporary Black romance writer who has taken entirely too long to complete her first project. She's also a ceramic mug and lapel pin enthusiast who cannot function without her AirPods constantly blaring music. When Nicole isn't writing, she spends her time trolling her friends and family while drinking coffee and/or cocktails or checking off yet another of these great United States visited in her quest to see some land! She currently resides in the suburbs of Chicago.
Troian was attracted to her trainer and her trainer Tyson was definitely attracted to her…now who’s going to make the first move? I always love the humor in Nicole’s stories and the banter between Tyson and his brother Kenyon will not let you down…neither does the developing relationship between Troian & Tyson.
The second read was the audiobook with Eboni Flowers & Winston James narrating…great combination
This book wasn't nothin' but a tease and I'm highly offended. I need more Tyson ASAP! Oh, how I loved Hunger! It was hot, steamy, sexy, and fun with minimal drama. I absolutely adored Troian and Tyson as a couple. They were so HOT!!!!🔥🔥🔥 Sis shot her shot and got her man. Little did she know, Tyson was already crushin' on her so Troian didn't have to shoot too far. While there was not a lot of drama with this couple, the same cannot be said about Kamil and Kenny. Whew chile! I'm ready for all the antics that's coming with their story. Hunger was the perfect read. It gave me all the sexy feels. I'm definitely looking forward to book two.
This was okay! I loved the idea of a personal trainer falling for his curvier client. When they discussed what she wanted out of their training sessions, I appreciated how Troi emphasized she wanted to be healthy and strong, not that her goal was to be thin. Troi and Tyson definitely had an attraction and I really enjoyed the beginning where they were dancing around each other. For a novella, though, there was a lot of baggage that Tyson had that did not have enough time to be fleshed out beyond something that was a conflict for Tyson and Troi. I would have liked to understand more of that instead of just random snippets to add something that drove Troi and Tyson apart. Overall, the story ended up being just okay and petered out by the end for me.
“We weren’t trainer and client right now, just a man and woman engaging in a powerful exchange of sensual energy fueled by the music of the moment.”
This book was hot, but lacked in some areas probably due to it being a novella. I really enjoyed it though. I love when a personal trainer falls for his very curvy, fuller figured client. Definitely some hot scenes, but I’m not sure I’ll read the second book.
Hunger by Nicole Falls is about gym owner/ personal trainer Tyson Brooks and Puff dispensary V.P. Troian Taylor. For several months Tyson has been feanin for some Troian but he’s apprehensive because the last time he messed around with a client it went left! When Troian invites Tyson to her surprise party, sparks go off!! The chemistry is undeniable! These two are sensual and sexy!! Plus they love them some office desks 👀 Tyson has quite the appetite and I like it 😋 I love that he doesn’t beat around the bush, he says it like it is! This book is giving what it’s supposed to give 💦 There was no lack of passion or hunger! The levels to the sexiness 🤤 These two are so nasty and I mean that in the best way possible 🔥 🔥 Tyson came to eat and he DID! The cupcake, peach, groceries whatever you wanna call it! I enjoyed that this is from the male POV, Tyson was an open book I wanted to know more about Troi. She never fully opened up, she would change the subject. This book is scrumptious, I can’t wait to read the other Brooks brothers story. Like any good dessert I wanted more!! P.s. Kamil is hilarious 😂 She’s my new bestie in my head!
3.5 stars. This was a cool little read. I usually like to indulge in Nicole Falls’ novellas, but this one didn’t live up to my expectations. It was not a horrible story; it kept my attention enough, but it didn’t provide me with the satisfaction that her stories normally do. I feel as though the plot was a little rushed, and I prefer when she alternates chapters from the man’s and women’s point of view.
Regardless, I’m still going to ride with Nicole and will always be a fan of hers. The ending did have me like ‘oh shit,’ so I am looking forward to part two with Kenny & Kam.
I loooooooove a Jail bae! And idc what anyone’s says! Tyson was a man and I’m so glad him and Troin got on the same page! I loved the eroticism in this book paired with the romance story of just simply falling for your trainer! This was a good read and interesting it was written from the hero’s perspective. Different but I was here for it. I also listened to this on audio which I will say was excellent. Winston James and Ebony Flowers did a great job! This is a quick cool read I’d recommend.
Ok, Tyson! I loved all the background we got on who Tyson was and has become. The family dynamic helped me understand him and love him more. Can't wait for part 2.
Good read! Hot and steamy, trauma free! I feel like I don't know enough about something....but I'm not sure what that is. The ending felt sudden and maybe this is a prequel .... Waiting for book 2.
Hunger was perfectly titled for this read. Tyson and Troi were indeed, “hungry” for each other. I loved that Troi was a strong and confident woman that was not afraid to speak on her needs. Tyson was all man and I loved the way that her carefully catered to Troi. This was a cute short story that kept me engaged to see how it would end.
Hungry for More!!! This was so good. I need book 2 like tomorrow. I loved how forward Troj was and Tysen talk about BDE. I never knew I needed a sauna but baybey listen I may need to invest in one. I loved how while there was a splash of heaviness with his past none of it affected their budding relationship. Really good read and I can’t wait for Kenny’s story.
This was a fun, sexy story! There was such a strong underlying tension between Tyson and Troian from the very beginning, you just knew it was going to boil over soon. When they finally came together, yes Lawd!!!!! They were so HOT!!!!🔥🔥🔥 They both had some personal hangups they had to get past, but they were a really good match and their story was fun to read! I'm bracing myself for Kenny and Kami's story though because I already see it's gonna be a doozy!
The summary is two sentences. The novella is seven chapters. The characters are a trainer and his client. Seems like the set up for a predictable instalove story. Until you factor in the author is Nicole Falls. Nicole’s writing is rarely predictable and Hunger is an excellent example of this. Written entirely from the male perspective, Hunger is a complete story with solid writing and character and story development which is surprising given its length.
Tyson is co-owner of a gym and a personal trainer who avoids dating his clients after a disastrous previous experience. Troian is trying to improve her physical health and strength and hires Tyson to help her reach her goals. Besides the instant attraction neither Tyse or Troi is actually interested in a relationship, which leads to misunderstandings that probably could have been avoided if they communicated better. The sex scenes are spicy, varied and plentiful. There are some weaknesses in the story most notable being the tension created because of Tyson’s interaction with people from his past, it came across and contrived and unnecessary. Overall I would recommend Hunger with three and a half stars and I am looking forward to Kenny and Kamil’s story. 📱
Ms. Falls it was so refreshing to read a book by you, it's been awhile. I enjoyed reading about Tyson and his role in his brother Kenyon's life. I love how their mother raised them to be self sufficient and independent men. The part in the book where Tyson was referencing how is mother were about hair. It reminded me of my grandmother, she had the same perspective.
Tyson and Torian's story was cute, but powerful. Torian, "shoot her shot and hit the bull eye" 🎯 and got all the love with it. They were quite compatible and became an item quickly.
This is a great book that will have you yearning for more. You will witness the love grow between Tyson and Torian. Let's just say exercising have a plethora of benefits and in this book including love. You will also get a little taste of Kamil and Kenyon. Those two are opposite because they are ten times more dramatic. I strongly suggest you download and enjoy after all it is Ms. Falls.
“I know I look good, at least to the naked eye,” Troian had started, “but I don’t necessarily feel good and I’d like to change that. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t an esteem thing. I mean clearly, since I started by saying I know I’m fine but…sorry I tend to ramble when I’m nervous.”
This was such a great read. Nicole Falls created great characters with a well-developed storyline that had me captivated from the first page. Troian and Tyson were adorable together in their mild-mannered way. Once they let the attraction on both sides show though they were explosive!
The combination of her checking all of my physical boxes in concert with her being easy to talk to, quick-witted, and a sarcastic smart ass had me damn near ready to risk it all on several occasions.
Tyson knew what he wanted from the first time he laid eyes on Troian and although he moved slowly the anticipation was always front and center for the readers to enjoy. I knew we were getting somewhere when shots started flowing 😩. Liquid courage for the win!!!! These two were so different but alike in some ways and that worked in their favor. The scenes where we see their differences only added more depth to their relation in my eyes.
“I understand you’re trying to be on your gentlemanly steez right now, Tyse, but if you don’t get inside of me soon, I think my pussy is gonna drown itself.”
That liquor!😆 Nicole Falls created some epic scenes in this book and the sex was just on the right side of nasty for me. Although there was a deep sexual connection it blended well with the story which I find can make or break a story for me.
“Never try and predict ya boy, baby. I’m not the weather. Just ask me. I’m an open book, nothing to hide over here, aight?”
Again, I loved Tyson and Troian as well as side characters who I can’t wait to read more about because I can sense the drama about to implode and I’m here for all of it!
Hunger (The Brooks Brothers Book 1) by Nicole Falls was absolutely devoured. No notes. No leftovers.
Tyson Brooks knew exactly what he wanted and Troian Taylor was it. What I loved most about this story was the banter no frfr real banter. Not petty arguing, not forced tension, but smart conversations laced with wit, heat and intention. The kind that lets you know two people are evenly matched and fully aware of it.
Tyson’s patience whew lawdy that man stood ten toes down. When Troi ran hot and then suddenly went cold, he didn’t chase, didn’t pressure, didn’t fold. He let her have the space she needed because he knew. He understood that when she was ready, she’d move on her own terms and that confidence made him even sexier.
Troi wasn’t weak or confused; she was cautious. She saw a side of him and fear set in ok understandable. When she pulled up her big girls panties and had a conversation Tyson respected that. He eased her mind. That dynamic made everything hit harder when they finally collided. The build up was delicious, the payoff was worth it and when Tyson finally got his plate! Baby… not a single crumb left. He definitely eased her mind, body and soul.
This book was sexy without being sloppy, intentional without being rushed and confident in exactly what it was trying to give. Hunger lived up to its name in every way and if this is how the Brooks Brothers series starts, I’m already seated for what’s next.

Tyson wants Troian BAD! However, he holds off because he knows the consequences of leading with the head below. He isn’t trying to get caught up, so he falls back. It sure doesn’t stop the distant yearning. He has no idea the feeling is mutual and Troian is tired of waiting for him to make the first move. Troi is a woman after my own heart. she is determined, successful and bougie AF! I did crave more from her but seeing that this is from Tysons POV, I understand. I liked Tyson too. I admired his resilience. He rehabilitates himself, starts a clean business and doesn’t look back. A positive for me is him being a natural hair stylist. Sexy!! . Tyson and Troian have an easygoing friendship that made the move to lovers easy. Let’s not forget their nasty sex! I Love how vocal they are with each other. While I did overall enjoy this short book, I felt in the middle, the story started to stray away from its usual tone , causing me to start to lose interest. Luckily, it picked up with shenanigans from Tysons brother. I’m excited to read the second book in this series. It’s gonna be something else.
“Never try and predict ya boy, baby. I’m not the weather. Just ask me. I’m an open book, nothing to hide over here, aight?”
He was so open, ready, willing and well able for whatever. He didn’t mince words or play games. He’s had a past but saw nothing but his present and future and it included Troi. And I loved to read it!
I liked Troi too with her awkwardness, drunken boldness, and lil wild side. I do wonder what made her second guess herself and make assumptions when it came to men and relationships. It felt like she was gaining her voice back and being comfortable with herself again. Almost like she’s been through something with the way her friends were acting and what they said at her congratulations party. I wonder will we get deeper into her.
Ok... So the ending of book 1 set me off and had me vowing to not waste any more time with this author. BUT THEN... she surprise dropped book 2 and I had to see where she took things with Kam and Kenyon and while she did not disappoint, I still feel like at least one of the sex scenes could have been omited in favor of a better ending... unless she plans on hitting us with a book 3 conclusion?? Overall, it was a good book about the importance about clear communication and maturity especially when matters of the heart are involved. I just wish that there was an epilogue included that tied up all 4 characters story with a tight bow.
From beginning to end, this book was solid. Troi and Tyse’s connection felt organic and their chemistry was sizzled! I loved the secondary characters and the way the author provided the back story for all of the characters, while dropping a few gems in the process. I hope this is the first of a series and we’ll revisit these characters and unpack Kenny and Kam’s situation.
