The First book of Chronicles, outlined the different tribes and the different activities and the members who made them up. The book also gave a quick synopsis and summary of the reign of David. It ended when David dies after the he crowned/anointed Solomon as King.
I liked reading this book because I enjoyed the review or restating of some thing I had already read in earlier books of the Bible, like about Saul's death and David's plan to build the temple but then it getting to be not him but his son Solomon who would build it. This book reminds me that we all have a job given to us by God and He is the one who calls us to it and equips us to do it. (27:3b Hushai the Arkite was the king's friend.) I like the name Happizzez, (24:15) and I like 22:11-13! I like 5:20b..."He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him." Yes, we must pray, believing, as He will tell us again later in James! I like 28:9-10. We should be strong and do OUR work for God too. And 29:9, "The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the lord."
This book gives you information on family lineage and what each leader's task was. It also mentions David's life and family and his death and who took over after that. He was not the one chosen to build God's house but his son Solomon. God gave the details to David so that he in turn would give all that to Solomon and even gathered all the supplies needed to build it so that his young son would not have to do it on his own. God has called each one of us to serve Him and equips each one to get it done. God is in the details and blesses each one as he chooses to serve Him whole heartedly.
