I’ve always been textbook people pleaser with third-degree middle child syndrome. Putting everyone else first with a smile on my face was working out pretty well for me when out of nowhere, Archer Bliss — a growly single dad— drops a bomb on my carefully constructed happy life. It seems my boyfriend has been cheating on me with Archer’s girlfriend. Even worse? She’s my coworker and secret archnemesis.
The old me would have forgiven them and wished them the best. But the new me has had enough.
So, I do the (ir)rational thing and dump my lunch all over the backstabbing cheaters. Then I plant a kiss right on Archer’s very kissable lips right in front of both of them.
That’s right — I started a war by serving up a dish called revenge, which is best served with lips and lo mein.
And now, I’ve somehow teamed up with this hunky beast of a man to get even with our cheating exes. At least it started that way, but now it’s an excuse to spend time together… some of which is horizontal.
The catch? He’s got three kids who need him, and I’m still trying to figure out who I am. Starting a romance with each of us fresh out of a messy breakup is only asking for trouble.
But the new me likes trouble. And Archer Bliss is trouble with a capital T.
*** Jackie brings you stories featuring her signature blend of comedy, spice, suspense, multi-faceted characters, and romantic, heartwarming moments. A voracious romance reader herself, Jackie writes stories featuring the four Ss: Suspense, Swoons, Steam, and Sarcasm.
Her heroines are badass, and her heroes are easy on the eyes and heavy on the charm. She loves writing characters with real emotions, flaws, and mental health issues and is known to send them to therapy where they belong. Let’s normalize that shit.
When she is not writing stories about swoony heroes and the women who get to play with them, she is avoiding life with an audiobook in her ears or taking care of her army of cats and peacocks or hanging with her teenage son (who also speaks fluent sarcasm).
I love this book! I’ve said this with Jackie’s first 3 books in the series, but I think this one is my favorite! She came out running with her first book and it just got better and better! It’s got a bit of everything! Laughing, crying, slow burn to major steaminess! It even has a tiny bit of suspense, just enough to keep you guessing! Archer and CJ have their own separate personal journeys that I believe is very relatable, I know that I related to CJ for a lot of her growth throughout the book. Of course, I can’t forget all of the other Amos-holes! They can be over the top, but they alway have each other’s back, and love fearlessly! I am looking forward to read Millie’s journey in finding love. I received an ARC and I freely made an honest review.
Jackie Walker has another winner in this book. CJ Amos finally finds a man who deserves her in Archer Bliss. Their story is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. CJ: marine biologist, kind, hard-working, helpful, loyal, and gorgeous. Archer: hot, single dad of three kids, business owner, mission-oriented, loving, family man. These two characters meet during a very bad day when they discover that CJ’s boyfriend, Danny, has been cheating with Archer’s girlfriend, Becki. I love how they get together and how they build love and trust with each other. I love they steamy scenes between them. I laughed out loud on multiple occasions; this book made me smile. I adore that they both have family support in their lives. The Amos family text thread never fails to disappoint for laughs. Seriously, they are a lot like my family when we are together. And Archer’s kids- let me just say that I fell head over heels for all of them. Adorable- even the teenager. I love that CJ and Archer are both in their 40’s and are mature characters who can have a relationship without childish drama. There are subplots involving co-worker drama (with awesome pranks included), Archer’s ex-wife, self-esteem, trust, finding your voice, and family-both born and chosen. I loved the growth that CJ experiences because of Archer’s love and trust. I love how well they communicate with each other, sometimes without words. Finally, I adore the relationships that CJ and her family build with Archer’s children: absolutely priceless. You want to read this book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
Hmmm. I'm only 35% in and I can't believe there's still 65% left to go. We've already established Archer and CJ's interest in each other and I can't imagine what else could happen to drag out their story that long. I'm kinda losing interest because it isn't like there's anything very riveting happening. The back-and-forth texting and banter is fun to read but I don't see anything propelling the plot forward. I'm hoping the author won't throw in angst for the sake of having angst.
Archer has even met CJ's family at this point, and she has met his kids. So really, what other developments do we need? Why would it take another 65% to get to HEA?
CJ is quirky but there's something about her which doesn't seem real to me. Not sure what it is. Maybe it's her whole "I'm a nice person and perpetually optimistic" thing. I think the author wanted to write a sunshine-grumpy romance (with Archer being the grump) but ehhhh. Maybe the author went a bit overboard.
I always like when the main characters have families who rally around them and whom they can rely on for support. CJ's family is tight. They're a bit crazy and, I felt the author was a bit OTT with how immature some of them are ::cough:: Colt ::cough::. If there's a book with his and Amber's story, I'm not going to read it, because Colt is the type of character that would seriously annoy me. Archer's family, on the other hand, seems to be mainly his brother, who is referred to as lazy and ne'er-do-well but nonetheless is Archer's partner in a construction business.
I liked that Archer is a responsible dad who's trying his best; his 6-year-old twins are adorable. His 13-year-old daughter, well, I felt at times that she was a bit of a caricature, a stereotype of a teenager. But then, she did have pretty heavy stuff going on with her flaky mom (Archer's ex), so maybe that was understandable. I also thought she was a bit old to not have had her first period yet, but that's neither here nor there. I sympathised with Archer, who felt out of his depth as a single dad, especially when it came to the girl stuff and trying to connect with his teenage daughter.
It's all kind of 'meh': not bad, but also not that riveting -- nothing that really grabs me and makes me want to keep turning the pages to see what will happen next. Archer's internal monologue and POV is very repetitive, all about how hot CJ is and how wonderful her tits are, and CJ's internal monologue and POV is much the same, all about Archer's body and how hot he is, too. I think that slowed down the pace of the story too much.
* * * *
I stopped at the end of Chapter 20 and ended up skipping to the middle and then to the last four chapters: There are FIFTY chapters in this book! Didn't feel like I really missed much by skipping those chapters in-between. I could see that there's character growth in Archer and his daughter, and also CJ, in the sense that CJ becomes less of a doormat and starts to stand up for what she wants. Thankfully the author didn't seem to manufacture any big angst between Archer and CJ, instead using conflict from other sources. Still, I think the story could have been more concise and the pacing a bit better. Not really impressed by the writing, sadly. As I said, it's not bad, but it's also not amazing...
Jackie did it again with another HILARIOUS romcom that was also full of spice, emotion and super swoon worthy moments that yanked at these heartstrings of mine.
Archer is HOT!
CJ is a badass.
The Amos-holes are hilarious.
Lily, Emma and Ethan make my ovaries tingle.
Seriously, this was such a cute story with such unique characters and a plot that had me hooked from the start. It had me laughing out loud at times and tears rolling down my cheeks at other times. This was one of the funniest but sweetest HEAs I’ve read in a while!
I want to be an Amos-hole! The fourth book from Jackie Walker brings more Amos shenanigans, more Amos love, and more of the fun, flirty fabulous Amos clan. This is CJ's story. When she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her, CJ stumbles head (or should I say lips) first into a friendship with Archer. Archer is a single dad who puts his kids first. He's everything CJ never knew she needed. If you're a fan of family game night, pranks, and taking down elementary school bullies this is the book for you!

Ok, so after having reached the... whatever page mark in this book and realised how... ridiculous it is at time... or more than 'at times'... I decided to write a little list over things I found particularly... weird.
- He would miss his exes tits - and only her tits. She was a cheating skank but dude wtf. - He didn't like CJ's fishy smell but her tits made up for it??? - But then he got mad at his brother for mentioning his daughter eventually developing a chest? But he also wants to lead by example, apparently, hah! - He wouldn't remember all the names in the Amos family because there were too many… But apparently the grandfathers name, being Dickie “that one is easy to remember” - He called her V a “pink taco” 🤢 - "It matters because I'm your father, I paid for that phone, and therefore I have a right to know what you're doing and who you're talking to.” ugh okay? - I wish I lied but unfortunately he used the word “titty” - Tampon tunnel? Well he called shitty danny that so ill let it slide. - … He named her left boob Cassandra, and her right one Jane. Her name is Cassandra Jane. Girl, FUCKING RUN!!!! - Cj spoke about her eyes in the third POV and as if they were murderers that could go to prison. - THE FRICKING GIFs - I GET it! Chloe's pregnant! - Why is he so disgusted with periods? - The ass grabbing after the glitter revenge thingy? Wtf? - “I pledge allegiance to dat ass!” - This man is apparently a boy whose mouth can not form the syllables, making up the word ‘period’ - “He can octo-my-puss right here and now for all I care, as long as he keeps kissing me like this.” Just no. - Why of WHY WOULD SHE BE JEALOUS OF LITTLE EMMA SLIDING DOWN HER FATHERS BODY!!?? THAT'S HIS DAUGHTER - He told his brother they haven't gone all the way…and he's impatient… "Dude, it's been 2 months chill. - “Your legs remind me of an Oreo cookie," 🤢 No. Just no. Why tf am I still reading this shit. WHO SAYS STUFF LIKE THAT!? I'm not even gonna write what he said after. Blah. - She called her sex glow the “Bliss effect” - Why do they still call her ms. CJ? - Female issues? Dude wtf? - Woo doggy??? - Why would she tell him what they spoke about? She should be trying to get Lily to trust her.. - Why is he low-key hating his daughter because she reminds him of his ex? - Why is he thinking about sex all the time? - Why is he talking about his balls all the time????? - Not the Hunger Games reference😭 - BOHICA? WTF!? Especially from his POV? - What happened to “kids first”????? CJ made some good points and I thought for sure he wouldn't not listen to her and still go. No!! He still went to… his brother. - I'll never look at butter the same. - Why are they still calling her miss CJ after she's basically moved in with them? - Wtf are all those adults threatening a little girl?😭 - Mama CJ!? - Whale- what? - What the fuck.
Sooo.. yeah. The main leads were in their forties but acted like teenagers and with the author being 67 while writing this book, well I dont know what to say. This guy had been in the military, had been left by his wife but still couldn't get his ass to speak about "female issues" (that's a direct quote from Archer btw) with his daughter. Dude nobody expects you to show her how to use a tampon, but that girl was CLUELESS! She barely knew how babies were made! Or what role a period plays in that!
That is just outrageous! That a dude in his 40s can't speak about the basic functions of a woman's body - especially after having three kids and specifically seeing his obsession with "tits" - and gets all uncomfortable when CJ speaks of it.
The GIFs, ughh no. Just no. That was just too much. And the group chat texts? Idk, maybe my family is just a boring, stiff group of people ((kind of) shit lol), but I could NEVER. THEY could NEVER. Some of the things they wrote? I mean, good for you for being open and accepting!
He really did have a hard time thinking about literally anything else other than his balls, sex and her breasts. Even in situations where he was speaking to other people - including his children - or having what should have been serious conversations - like those regarding his children - he couldn't help himself. Just... that's not an attractive trait in a MMC. Or anyone, really.
That whole scene towards the end with Lilys mom rubbed me the wrong way. Archer had been all "kids first!💪" the whole book, and they, what does he do when he gets the one chance to show his undivided love and support for his daughter?
He dumps her for his stupid brother.
I don't care that he came back.
I have a problem with wanting to read a lot of books. And another problem that inables me to read book I actually want to read, so I fell into the book tok trap... again, unfortunately. And seeing as I do not like leaving things unfinished or well, unread, I forced myself through this... even though it took nearly a month, and even though I've read or am reading four other books at the same time. So, all in all, I'll leave this here. I could probably point out more ridiculous stuff that happened, but I honestly don't remember them all.
Oh and also, when a big part of the book is about someone sabotaging the main leads work - stealing her work and submitting it as her own - I would hope that we actually see an ending to that. I mean, did they throw her out? Fire her? What was her reaction when finding out that she'd been busted?
This is the fourth book in the Amos family saga and it is the best! I have actually said this after the last two, but they just keep getting better. This one is about the third Amos sister, CJ. CJ learns that her boyfriend is cheating on her with a coworker....from the coworker's boyfriend! What should be a disaster turns into a fun and funny love story. This book has all the feels----single father, goody-goody people pleaser, hilarious family and adorable kids. Add in some drama from the work situation, the ex-wife of the single dad and the single dad's brother and it is just a fun book.
The book is the fourth in the series but can be read as a standalone; I'm just not sure why you would! I can't wait to read Millie's story next!!
I want to be an Amos-hole!!! I love this family so much and have loved each and every one of these books. We got to see CJ’s story this time! The sweetheart, conflict-avoiding, mother hen that finds out her boyfriend had been cheating on her with her co-worker. However, the bearer of this bad news, Archer provides the perfect revenge.
As a single dad, Archer is a military man who prides himself on being a respectful, stand-up guy. When CJ uses him to enact some revenge on their respective ex’s, he never thought his world would feel so right.
I love the text trains between the family. They always make me laugh. I loved that CJ came out of her shell a little bit and was able to find her own HEA. Also has an epilogue!!!
This book had me laughing out loud a few times! It was an easy sweet read!! CJ and her family were wonderful and hilarious with their pranks. Archer and his kids were sweethearts.
Took me a bit to get into this, but I really enjoyed it. Older female main character, single ex-military dad, great family dynamics with sisters and kids. Overall a great read.
"I’m ready for my taste. So, crawl up here, and take your seat.” "On your face?” "Yes, sit on my face, Cassandra Jane. I want you to put that beautiful pussy on my face and fucking smother me with it.”
This was definitely my favorite from the series! Archer need some help with being a single dad. When his children’s school sets him up with a mom who used to be a single mom he gets invited to their family gathering. There at the gathering, he sees Millie. Millie and Archer both had their exes cheat on them with each other. I loved Millie and Archer’s chemistry. I loved Archer as a single dad! He is so caring for his children and wants the best for them. I also loved how Millie was there for his children. She truly cared and loved them. I love the times when it was just the two of them together and even getting up to sexy times. At the same time I loved when they were all together like a family. Millie taking care of his kids while he got caught up at work late. Millie being there for his 13-year-old daughter, and helping her navigating her period. I almost feel really happy to say that this book did not have a third act break up! Archer and Millie always communicated. They always wanted to make sure that they were in the same page and make things work between each other! While this book is part of the series, it can totally be read as a standalone!
Read if you like: Dual POVs Single dad Adorable kids Open door romance No third act breakup
2.5 stars as this book was just sooo over the top cheesy. Pros: some decent spice scenes and sweet kid characters. Family friendly stuff. What killed it: the text message groups were extremely annoying, the devil/angel on shoulder references were top level cheese, the fish/aquatic references were top level cheese and the whole thing what a big bowl of cheese. 🧀 Minor angst Overall: hard pass 😞
DNF .. I really had high hopes for this book and didn’t read any of the previous books but the writing is very childish for me… these are solid to be adults in their 30-40’s but talk and act like preteens… only got 26% in but my brain cells are screaming at me to not continue … also I get texting in books but don’t use gif descriptions as it’s too much
Cassandra Jane "CJ" Amos is the epitome of rule follower and peacekeeper, doing everything in her power to keep the peace amongst her and her 4 siblings. There isn't a single person in the world who has an issue with her... except her cubicle mate, Becki (with an i). Archer Bliss is a single dad with a horrible case of hero complex. As if building a construction company with his younger brother wasn't enough to handle, he also has to navigate raising twins (one with the most adorable lisp) and a teenage daughter entering womanhood.
The story starts with Archer finding out that his girlfriend is having an affair. When he goes to confront her at her place of employment, the guy she was cheating with is sitting in the breakroom with... his own girlfriend! Turns out CJ's boyfriend was having an affair with Archer's girlfriend. *gasp* But, don't worry! NO ONE LIKES DANNY (her boyfriend)!! Never have, never will. Becki can have him! It always seems that when one issue resolves itself, another issues arrives, and poor Archer is the one having to fix it all. (Remember, hero complex) Thankfully, he has a game plan. He just never imagined that the feisty redhead with the "unforgettable tits" would play a part in it, let alone her entire family. When Archer sought out to talk with Cara Amos for advice on navigating the single parent life, he never knew his path would cross with CJ again. He definitely didn't know he would be walking into a prank war... willingly. Over the course of the story, Archer helps CJ execute a number of pranks on both Danny and Becki. In return, CJ helps Archer with the twins, and when his teenager gets her first period, CJ and the Amos women are there to help her (and him) through it. CJ also helps his teenage daughter work through some serious issues with her mom toward the end of the story. (Remember, peacekeeper)
The slow burn between CJ and Archer killed me! After the first "rage kiss" in front of the backstabbers, I wanted these two to jump into bed and do the deed, but as much as I love the smut, I love the teasing just as much. Foreplay is a thing for a reason! Jackie did an amazing job at creating a true #alpharoll with Archer. From the ex-military physique to the softie dad emotions, he was everything I look for in a single dad romance. Archer has officially made it into my top 5 single dads. Way to go Jackie! Although I don't traditionally like the wallflower heroine, watching CJ grow a backbone and stand up for not only herself but for Archer's daughter was pure gold. She really grew into herself and became a badass Amos woman, just like her sisters. In true Jackie fashion, I laughed way too much for my own good while reading this story. Unlike any of her other stories, I found myself crying more than I'd like to admit! But, that could have also been because I was a bit hormonal when I read it. The Amos-holes are by far one of my favorite families within the romance genre and Jackie is on my very short list of one-click authors. If you haven't given Jackie a spin yet, you definitely need to! You won't be sorry.
I love the Amos family and the trouble they cause and get up to and CJ gives as good as she gets. This book has you laughing so hard you end up crying. There is also a couple of heartaches but the banter, chemistry, laughs and love outshine them.
CJ works at the aquarium as a marine biologist and loves her job. She is a beautiful, hard working and kind soul that gives her all to everything that she does. Her life is thrown in turmoil when she is told that her boyfriend is sleeping with someone that she works with. How does she find out? Well, the boyfriend of the woman tells her when he confronts the woman at work. CJ is shocked but what she does next shocks everyone, including herself, she kisses the guy who delivered the news, Archer Bliss. Thanks to her family, more her brother-in-law, she meets Archer again at a family get together. How will she react to seeing him again? Will she admit that maybe she finds him attractive? What happens when they are seen together? Will she give in to her feelings? What will the Amos-holes do to get her dating and agreeing to the fact that she likes Archer? Will their revenge turn into more than just time together for revenge?
Archer is a hot and handsome dd of three. When he finds out his girlfriend is cheating on him, he decides to confront her at work. Well there he sees the guy she was with, but he is having lunch with another woman, who is her girlfriend. When he confronts the two of them, he never thought that he would get a kiss from a stranger, but he was not complaining. Being a father of three, twin boy and girl and an older son, he has his hands full. He was called to the school to meet with the staff about his older son. While there he is introduced to Brody who tells him his wife was a single mum and maybe she can give Archer some advice. Little does Archer know that Brody is CJ's, the woman that kissed him, brother-in-law. Well, he was surprised to see her when he was invited to dinner. He cannot stop thinking about CJ. When the chance to helo she seek revenge on her ex, Archer jumps on the chance to help, why, so he can be with her more? Will this friendship turn into something more? Does revenge bring them together?
Jackie never fails to deliver a hilarious story that you cannot put down. Her storylines are always well-written, believable and a joy to read. I want to be an Amos-hole after reading this one. The character development was fantastic. To see both have fun healing together was great. I would highly recommend this book as well as the complete series. I hope to read another story of the Amos-holes family.
Oh my goodness, this book was SOO GOOD! I have not read the other books by Jackie Walker so I was not familiar with the secondary characters mentioned, but the author did a great job of explaining the dynamics already formed, so I did not feel as if I missed out! The Amos-holes totally make this book even better and I could not stop laughing out loud and their interactions!
Now getting to Archer and CJ, these two are awesome! Both have their own issues, but align when Archer blows CJ's world apart and connect them together. All in all this book was humorous, but also so heartwarming with a healthy dose of steam included! There is a LOT going on, but loved reading about the growth of both characters! This book was super fun to read and I give it 4.5 outta 5, and can't wait to see what is next from the author!
PS: Thank you to Jackie Walker and Enticing Journey Book Promos for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly
𝐿𝑜𝑣𝑒 & 𝑂𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑇𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑒 by Jackie Walker ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
CJ is the peacemaker. The happy one. The kind one. So what’s the most logical response when she finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her with her coworker? Rage kiss her coworker’s sexy ex boyfriend Archer. Duh.
CJ is my spirit animal. Keeps the peace but has an inner rage monster that comes out when pushed too far. Yep. Totally me. Watching her finally letthat rage out stick up for herself was therapeutic. I needed that. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so seen. Archer is a single dad who has been one his own with 3 kids for years. He feels it’s his responsibility to make sure everyone else’s needs are met. Also he often dresses like lumberjack soooo… 😍😍😍
Jackie, you need to stop writing perfect men please… just kidding. Keep writing. I need them.
The chemistry between Archer and CJ is so d@mn intense! Their relationship is everything I want and need. Absolutely everything. Archer is so patient with CJ and that touched my heart. But he’s also a bit alpha male with her which was hot.
This book is a good light romance read. A great choice after you’ve read something heavy.

This book is technically a stand alone novel. Please use caution if you have not read the author's works for the Amos Family. Just wanted to warn potential readers that this is child #3, in the Amos family.
CJ cannot believe what she has heard! She has been cheated on. When she learns that she was the fool, she dumps the cheater and kisses the messenger. With an exciting start, this story continues with hijinks, humor and revenge.
Archer is a single dad of 3, and very attracted to the amazing CJ right from the start. It took a while for me to really get into this story. I found it to be a bit wordy and more like diary entries. Once I got over my issues the story moved right along and made me laugh plenty. While I had issues with the beginning, this is a fun read.

Love And Other Trouble is the first book I have read by Jackie Walker and certainly will not be my last . I started this book early yesterday morning and just finished a few hours ago . I cannot express how much I loved this story . It’s not only steamy and fun but it also has a awesome lead couple . CJ and Archer have off the charts chemistry . One of my very favorite tropes in romance is single parent , and Jackie did such a wonderful job with Archer - he is a amazing dad but also extremely sexy and oh so hot . What a fun and emotional book , one moment I was laughing , the next I was crying . You will not be able to stop reading once you start , I was on the edge of my seat , devouring every single minute of this phenomenal story . It’s the perfect combination of intrigue, steam , angst , love , and many surprises you will not be expecting. I highly recommend this fabulous book
I am a true sucker for Single Dad Romcoms and may I say Ms. Walker did not disappoint men with this read. The storyline is well written with lots of emotional moments. I laughed, sighed, felt sad then happy and so much more. The storyline has a lot of secondary characters as well as family times that made the book such a great read for me. This was my first book by Ms. Walker and I’m so happy I’ve found another author with a great writing style and flair for words.
I blurb above tells the premise of the story, so I won’t rehash it. However I will say I love the crazy way that Archer and CJ meet. Plus as the book goes along we have friends and family that either caused a little ruckus or protect their loved ones to the max. I highly recommend grabbing up this Romantic, Funny, RomCom. You won’t regret reading Love & Other Trouble.
I have loved every book in this series so far! Hudson WAS my man. But Archer drop kicked him into the next century. I'm a massive sucker for a growly, sexy, works with his hands and is a kick ass father hero, so Archer Bliss was like cat nip to me!
I connected with CJ and her middle child syndrome (even though I'm the youngest of two). I'm always the peacemaker, the people pleaser, the one who gives and gives and gives until I'm empty. Loved seeing a heroine like that who isn't portrayed as this weakling. Yes, she has to learn to set boundaries, and have some backbone, but she does so in such a real way that I was so damn proud of her and inspired by her!
Archer and CJ meet by happenstance. The people they're dating are cheating on them with the other. So, CJ's bf is banging Archer's gf. They team up to get a little well deserved payback, enlisting the whole beautiful Amos-hole family!
There's some twists and turns along the way, some epic pranks (Glitter! Glitter everywhere!), and a really sweet romance that just leaves you all warm and fuzzy. And Archer's kids are fully developed humans who enrich the plot without bogging it down.
If what you want is a funny, adorable, sweet story with some hot smexy times, grab a copy of this book! I'm recommending it to all my friends!
*Warning- there IS profanity and sexy times. So if you need something more tamed, find another book.
This is Archer and CJ’s story. Archer is a single dad of 3-kids, as well as a business owner, while CJ is a marine biologist, who is an expert at avoiding conflict, diligent, caring, and fiercely loyal to those she loves, and her crazy family always have each-others backs. When Archer approaches her to inform CJ that her boyfriend is cheating on her with his girlfriend, and revenge plan is though up. This is a well written flawless story which is a fun storyline, with emotions, humor, witty banter, crazy shenanigans, family, and ex-wife, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This was a good feel good story but disappointed with how little spice there was. Other wise, good.
***spoilers Archer - divorced, father of 3 (Liliana 13, Emma and Ethan 6) retired army. His brother Andy used to be addicted and in and out of j@il. Celeste, his ex wife, spontaneously pops into Liliana’s life (via text). Dating Becki. CJ - super nice, lets people boss her around, very people pleasure type. Dating Danny. Danny and Becki are che@ting with each other. Archer finds out and CJ from ts Becki at her work, where CJ works. CJ angrily dumps food on them and rage kisses Archer. Over the next few weeks they run into each other and decide to try a relationship all while Archer navigates life with his kids.
Yes. 100% yes. I started this series in the middle, which I never do. I not only survived but I totally loved this book - and I’m going to go back and start at the beginning so I can get the stories I missed. Did it mess up this story for me? Not at all.
I adore both CJ and Archer. Separately and together. They are funny, real, emotional. They are quite literally everything. From the crazy, awful way they met to all the craziness in between to the sweetest, most emotional ending, their story just makes me happy.
The Amos-holes are hilarious. Lily, Emma and Ethan are perfect. The texting and inner thoughts and monologues made me laugh so much. I’m going back to start at the beginning of this series!
Where has this author been because this is the first book of hers I've read and I'm in love with her writing style. Now I'm going to have to back to check her other books. This book had me laughing from start to finish. CJ's family is a riot. I so want to be included in game nights. They have so much fun and I just love their personalities. It was so hard to put this book down. I was drawn to this book because Archer is a single dad. His kids stole my heart. His twins are so stinkin' cute! There is plenty of heart and feels to go around as well. CJ and Archer are going to have you gobbling up the pages. Trust me pick a day when you can really dive in because you'll hate to be interrupted.
Jackie Walker writes my favorite rom-coms, hands down! I loved this singles dad romance! Archer has his kids as his number one priority, works to keep his company afloat, and carve out a little grown up time for himself. CJ is independent but always wants everyone around her happy and will bend whichever way to help make that happen… but she bends too far and snaps … there’s a rage-kiss, lo mein, a seam ripper, and a glitter bomb. I loved the vulnerability and growth of both Archer and CJ as they both went with the flow … the kids were great … the Amos family shenigans were hilarious 😂
This was a fun read. I loved that both characters were so deserving of love, and the fun way their relationship started and developed. (The "Whoops" rage kiss not what led to it, lol.) The family was a great addition and the pranks were entertaining. Reading about two "women" finding their inner strength, priceless. I enjoyed not having a 3rd act breakup for a change and Archer and CJ had great passion. The shoulder angel and devil were a bit much for me and I think even though the family interactions are fun, I would have liked a little more intimate moments like dates with the main characters. Maybe another moment at the aquarium, just them would have been nice.
This is my first time reading this author's book and what a fun way to start! I love the family dynamics, Archer and his adorable kids and CJ's heartwarming character. This book shows that you don't need conflict and drama to create a wonderful and satisfying story. The Amos siblings are hilarious but loyal and compassionate to the core. The kind of people you wish to be in your corner when trouble comes. Archer Bliss is a doting father, protective brother, and sexy as hell boyfriend. You don't want to miss this one out!
I loved this story about single father Archer finding his Bliss (see what I did there?) with our favorite marine biologist Amos-hole CJ. With the text threads as hilarious as the gif game, the story is framed in lust, humor, parenting struggles, girl power, and all the family closeness you have come to expect from the Amos siblings and those they draw I to their orbit. Jackie Walker has produced yet another fantastic addition to her book list, and I, for one, am grateful. All the stars.
