A newcomer causes a stir in the quiet village of Lannick...
Dale didn’t intend to stay on the Isle of Skye for long, but when he’s offered a job at the Old Inn and made to feel at home by the locals, he starts to wonder what it would be like to stick around.
Meanwhile, Elspeth is determined to salvage her relationship with Rory. After almost losing him, she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure they get things right this time.
Over in Portree, Jess is hopeful that her streak of bad luck with relationships is over. At least until Gary’s teenage niece causes ripples in their budding romance.
When a spate of crimes brings Dale under scrutiny, the locals speculate over his mysterious past, leaving tensions high in the normally peaceful Lannick…
This is the ninth book in the Loch Lannick series and is best enjoyed following the previous books in the series.
Hannah Ellis spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books. When she's not busy writing she likes to read, drink tea and eat chocolate. She also enjoys yoga and jogging.
I was so thoroughly confused throughout the book - turns out the series is meant to be read in order and I had a SMH moment.
I am sure the book would have been more enjoyable had I known the characters from the previous books but I still liked it enough. It felt like going through a breeze and the setting of the book won my heart. It was a beautiful journey and I liked ALL the characters which rarely happens to me these days.
The sense of community was strong in this book and although I personally don't like it, it was pleasing to see these families existing together.
I’ve loved reading the Loch Lannick series and this one did not disappoint. It was great catching up with the lives of all the characters and I loved seeing Elspeth finally settled. Sad it’s the last in the series, hopefully there will be an update at some point in the future.
I put off reading this book (#9) because I feared it would be the last one in the series, and I guess it is which makes me very sad. I do hope the author will reconsider and take us back to Skye and the Mackenzie clan. I loved the whole series and this one was no exception. There were old stories that got resolved and new ones that added to the whole, weddings and babies and new relationships. I really love these people even though fictional, and I can't get enough of Skye. Thank you Hannah Ellis!
This is the ninth and final book in the Loch Lannick series and what a finale! There are a few threads in this story which all were as engrossing as each other. We meet a new character, Dale, who is eighteen and who seems to be hiding something. Lexi is determined to find out just what. We also catch up with Jess and Gary which I was delighted about as I knew there was more to their story and I so enjoyed seeing these two trying to get it together.
Sadly the story only really focuses on Elspeth, one of the three sisters who we were first introduced to at the beginning of the series. Whilst the other two do feature, their parts are very small in this one. I would have liked to do have had a bit more catching up with them but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment as it definitely finishes on a high.
New Arrivals at the Loch was the perfect ending to this series. I am so going to miss reading of the stunning setting as well as the characters. It truly was a fabulous story that left me with a huge grin on my face as well as feeling warm and uplifted. The theme of friendship, family and romance all blends together wonderfully. A lovely heartwarming and engaging read!
I’ve read all 9 of these Loch Lannick books and I’ve been thoroughly absorbed by them. PThey’ve been a wonderful world of escapism that I can only think I’ll miss. If there was a book 10 I’d be heading to download it straight away! They’re an easy read with loveable characters. I’ve really enjoyed following their storylines. It’s been a bit like socialising without actually having to socialise!
Hannah did not disappoint. I really enjoyed New Arrivals at the Loch. I was suspicious myself about Dale, and thought he may have found out something, but did not guess they were siblings. I feel I have got to know all the characters in the Lannick series. I really don't want it to end. Please write another Hannah.
You know how you read a book, get invested in the characters and then you finish the book and miss them? I have loved reading all 9 books that keep you connected with all of them. It is not just a HEA but real (fiction) life with growth changes and conflict. But it is still all about the family. Can’t wait to read the next one!!!
I don't usually binge read but this series completely absorbed my attention. Getting to know the characters and following their adventures through all nine books was addicr. But I'm not ready to say goodbye I do hope Hannah Ellis revisits Loch Lannick
Gosh this whole series is like a warm hug. I feel like I actually know the characters. The story line is always intriguing and realistic. I’m so sad this will be the last book with the McKenzie fam but I know I’ll reread them all because they are so good and comforting. All of Hannah’s books are so comforting
I loved how the characters came to life. They continued throughout the series, another theme I love in a series. Couldn't put the books down, looked forward to going back each day. Also story lines were intertwined and that kept my interest more than each book being about individuals. Thank you for a great visit to Skye.
I know this is the last one in the series but I need to check in with these characters again one day. Maybe some of the Hope Cove crew will visit for a holiday or vice versa?
I was afraid this would be the last in the series (which it was), which I flew through this year. I loved getting to know the characters and the characters, the intertwining of storylines and events made for a wonderful book/series. It made me miss Scotland.
I absolutely loved this series. I’m definitely planning a holiday to Skye now! I’ll miss all the characters and really really loved being part of their journeys over the past few years. I also recommend the Hope Cove series which has a small link to this series.
Amazing books I’ve loved reading all of them and the hope cove series. Such an amazing author who makes you feel as though you know every character in the books and feel like you are there with them. Looking forward to your next books Hannah
Ellis has created a great community with amazing natural, funny and interesting characters. There is always a moment to make you laugh out loud as well as a !moment to wipe away a tear. Brilliant as ever.
I've loved reading the Loch Lannick series and feel quite sad that this is the last book. The characters have become friends - they are so vivid and well described and so 'real'. Such a heart-warming, easy to read series - I loved it.
A fabulous end to a fabulous series. I’ve loved them all! All the characters are so endearing and likeable, you want to know how life pans out for them all.
