Ellison:

My parents moved our family to a new town when I was sixteen years old. The first person I met was local bad boy, Calvin Montgomery. His father was president of the local MC, but despite his reputation, Calvin had a heart of gold. We were a perfect match until one violent night destroyed the future we’d envisioned together.

Calvin:

I lost Ellison and the dream for our future when I was locked up for a decade. An act of violence I will never regret. It’s been ten years without her, but a day hasn’t gone by where I haven’t thought about her. But Ellison isn’t the same girl I left behind. They say time heals all wounds, but nothing cuts as deep as your first true love.

I'm all about DV books but what was this? Did anyone edit this? I skimmed most of it after a certain incident, but this is just awful.
I'm sure by now I must come across like the editing police, but does anyone look over these books before they are published?
What the hell was that scene with the father? That's not how you write someone scared and intimidated. The heroine was aroused and wet and achy because her boyfriend's father was touching her. In the moment, if she hadn't seized from epilepsy, she would have allowed him to do things to her, and it WASN'T BECAUSE SHE WAS SCARED.
Later, she claimed she was just scared. Did anyone check for the coherence of the narrative? Because that's all over the place.
Another issue is with the tone of the book. One review on amazon stated that the first half is YA and the second is like a pornfest and I completely agree. Their first scene is fade to black, and the next one is at the very end of the book and it's some weird role play that has nothing to do with how the characters are portrayed! Just get a developmental editor if you forget your own characters and how they are supposed to act.

This was a good read, I just would have liked it to go more in depth with certain topics. I do look forward to checking out the rest of the series. Each book is done by a different author! I do enjoy reading series like this because I often find new authors this way!

Really enjoyed this, loved the first part when they were teenagers just wish the second half had a wee bit more to it. Calvin and Fox were sweethearts! Looking forward to reading more from the Underworld Kings world.

*Thank you to Ardent PRose and the Author for an eARC of this book.*

This book was not what I was expecting! I was very excited to dive into the Underworld Kings books. The collab of some of my favorite authors has me very intrigued. I have never read a book by this author before and that is also cool as this series will hopefully broaden my horizons.

This story starts when our couple is just teenagers and they are seemingly a forbidden romance. He is the son of an MC president and she is the new girl next door who is the daughter of a cop. But from the first time they meet, when she faints at his feet, they are almost inseparable.

The reason she faints is actually that she has epilepsy and she gets stress based seizures at certain times. I really enjoyed seeing this representation in this book.

What follows is a romance that takes place over 12 years and has some crazy ups and downs. A lot of them were not my exact cup of tea but I still enjoyed watching these two young people fall in love against all odds. The trials they go through later in life would be enough to break anyone.

TW for abusive parent, domestic violence, and violence in general.

I am giving this one 4 stars because I think a lot of my issues were personal to me and other readers may have a great time.

I'm so glad this was not my first read in this series. I think I would have hesitated to go on with the other books, and that would have been unfair.
Maybe the mafia/biker is not Mila Crawford's trope and has she tried to write it with as a heart and flowers romance. And if that was the intent, than it was a fab one. But in this genre I want murder, gross killings and what more.

It took a long time for me to finish this book, it was just not invested. Let's forget this one and move on to the next.

Outstanding❣️

Razor’s Edge is the first book in the multi-author series and it is absolutely off to an outstanding start😁 Ellison and her family have just moved to South Vale for a fresh start and her father’s new job. When the neighbours arrive to welcome them, a mom and son, Ellison and Calvin both immediately feel a soul deep connection….right after she faints😳 However, an event takes place and it changes the course of their lives completely😢

This story spans more than a decade and is filled with heart-break, love and best of all determination😍 An absolutely out of this world story, that pulled on my heart-strings and had me teary a few times but so happy to have had a chance to read🤩

I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Took a nosedive

*spoilers ahead* I was so pumped. I sent my friend 6 minutes worth of voice memos. I’ve been going through a dark romance dry spell, until this “series” was finally released. The first 50% of this book was PERFECTION. The 2 year jump didn’t really add up, since they were juniors then “2 years later” they were turning 18 and going into their senior year but I let it go. But then things started going downhill…. First she mentions “finding out he’ll be a father only 4 days after killing his own”- 4 days post conception is pretty quick to know you’re pregnant. This is also where grammar/spelling/punctuation errors started showing up… and became more frequent as the book ended. We also literally never got any resolution from the Attorney being Fox’s dad??? (Maybe another book in the series will get into that?) The second half of the book felt rushed, to say the least. The secret baby trope is one of my favs, dark romances are my bread and butter, the male MC being head over heels in love with the female- no questions asked- is a dream. I talked about this book all day while reading it, but ultimately was pretty disappointed.

My Review: 3.75 stars!

I was expecting a dark, suspenseful romance story and was surprised to find a sweet contemporary, coming of age story instead between two next-door neighbours. 😊

Mila Crawford is a new-to-me author and this was my introduction to her writing. I can’t make any comparisons, so I don’t know if her writing style in this particular story differentiates with her other books, but this one definitely had a mixture of different romance sub-genres in one. Whilst the overall setting is contemporary, it had elements (albeit more in the background) of both MC romance (Motorcycle Club) and Mafia romance. The majority of the book is also set in a high school/ NA narrative.

It has a steady enough pacing, and whilst it was detailed in certain areas, in my opinion the aspects that required in-depth detail were the parts that actually lacked it. I also found the story to be choppy at times for my liking. For example, it would start out with a gradual development of an event just for it to end abruptly. Next thing you know, time has passed and the next event in their lives takes place. The flow has a start-and-stop feel to it that I was finding it difficult to really settle into the story because it doesn’t quite give you enough time to absorb events before it moves onto another development.

Whilst I thought Calvin’s and Ellison’s adorable meet cute and the sweet developments in their relationship throughout their teen years interesting to see play out, once the story hits the pivotal turn of events and time has fast-forwarded to their adulthood, there was a visible atmosphere shift. It was hard to keep the connection with these protagonists (especially Ellison) as it felt like I was reading a brand new story. The past may have altered both their futures but Ellison’s character development headed in a direction that had me a little taken aback to be honest.

The vibe is almost a separate one from the first 2/3 of the story. I think the main reason as to why their past and present, and the overall story ending up coming together is because one particular secondary character ended up playing a bigger role than expected. Not only was he the link to both Calvin and Ellison in both timelines, but he was the bridge in merging (or should I say re-merging) their lives together again.

The synopsis initially had me intrigued and after having read it I thought it was a nice storyline overall, but I did think there was some repetitiveness. Plot twists and additional plotlines were also either too vague or lacked further development after it was first mentioned, which I’m not going to lie frustrated me because those points could so easily have added extra dimension into the story but unfortunately was never elaborated on and leaves you with unanswered questions.

Despite it all, there’s plenty of heartwarming moments between the two which lightens the overall sombre mood of the book.

Calvin is a unique character with an eclectic range of traits from caring and protective, to cocky and hot-headed. I liked the fact that he knew what he wanted from the very beginning and his mindset never wavered. His loyalty and willingness to break away from a toxic lifestyle had me rooting for him.

Mila created a diverse and complex heroine in Ellison and because of that had me curious in knowing her personal story. What she ended up divulging added realism and relatability within the overall storyline as it raises sensitive subject matters that people don’t necessarily or easily discuss openly but are topics that one may relate to.

This book may be triggering for some readers as it contains matters such as domestic violence/ abuse, kidnapping, sexual assault, attempted suicide, and mental health. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.

Although I have mixed feelings about certain things, I did enjoy reading this book as a whole. The highlights are definitely from their teen years as most of the story development and the growth of their relationship takes place during that time. Calvin and Ellison are both likable characters but I must admit Calvin’s brother Fox won me over right from the very beginning. 😍😍 There’s a range of secondary characters who all added complexity as they played predominant roles in both Calvin’s and Ellison’s lives. I thought Mila brilliantly created characters that evoke strong emotions out of you and you’ll find yourself truly sympathizing for both Calvin’s and Ellison’s personal struggles.

I think Razor’s Edge is a great book for romance readers who are transitioning from reading contemporary to more darker romance stories, as it has a blend of both worlds. It’s heavy on the contemporary setting but also has dark elements in between to give the story a bit of bite. The romance between the protagonists is insta-love but nevertheless sweet, full of heart, and just how you would imagine first loves to be. It’s a story of second chances with underlying lessons in not taking anything for granted and learning from one’s mistakes.

(This book is a standalone in the Underworld Kings author collaboration series)

I want to give this book a 1.5 star rating, it wasn't bad enough to be worth 1 star, but I felt 2 was too much, however I rounded up.
This book is so fast paced you can barely keep up with what's going on.
I liked the start, that was ver promising, but then everything after that was just a whirlwind.
I more prefer a slow burn that these kinds of books
Everything in it was so unvelievable. From Calvin falling in love with Ellison immediately, kissing her after only knowing her a day, how they waited 2 years for Ellison to lose her virginity to him only to lose it in some Motorcycle shop on the back of a motorcycle and to be adamant that she didn't want a condom, oh surprise surprise, what happens next? pregnant, only for Calvin to be in prison and want nothing to do with her because he wants her to move on and have a normal life.
He gets out of prison, finds out he has a 10 year old daughter and it did take 5 minutes, but Ellison forgave him.
If I was her, and my boyfriend that claimed he loved me as much as Cal claimed he loved her just ditched me like that, refusing to speak to me and see me for 10 years, leaving me to be a single mother, It would have taken a hell of a lot more to make me forgive them than it did for Cal.
I understand this is a book and purely here for entertainment purposes, but when there is a storyline as unbelievable as this one, it just annoys me.
Won't read again, glad it was short so It only took me a day.

The couple: Calvin and Ellison

Romance genre: Second chance
Series: Underworld Kings
Length: 278 pages

Plot: Ellison is the new girl in town, with her family having moved to get away from the bad memories of her brother's death. Her dad is the new police chief, which makes it a little awkward that they moved in across the street from the president of the local motorcycle club. But Calvin, the pres' son, doesn't care about any of that, and neither does Ellison. They instantly fall for each other and spend all their high school time together, until a tragedy forces them apart. There will be a reason for them to come back together though, and they will have to decide if they can recapture what they lost on that tragic night.

Commentary: I was used to reading books from this author that were much shorter, and was pleasantly surprised when this one kept going! This is part of the Underworld Kings, where the stories are loosely connected rather than sequentially placed. In this story, Ellison and Calvin are made for each other - everyone can see that. But when to win back Ellison. She hasn't moved on with anyone else, and obviously neither has he, but she is very much hurt by his treatment of her - namely his refusal to see her.
One thing that was interested was that once Calvin was back with them, he wasn't afraid to be emotional - he didn't hide how he felt and he cried sometimes. It makes more sense than turning his character into a cold bada$$ (which is what I expected would happen to him in this book, given the tropes in the series). The characters felt authentic. It was a little strange to me that Ellison's parents weren't more involved with her - they were obviously around, but I didn't think they would let go so easily. The brother was great, how he was her rock all that time and left the bad life that his dad had created for him.
Also, the addition of the heroine's epilepsy was something I hadn't seen before, so I appreciated that.

Tears streamed down my beaten face as I stared at Ellison. No words, no apology could make up for the hell I’d put her through. There wasn’t even a point in trying. “I’m sorry,” I mouthed to her. I put my face in my hands.

It has been a while since I read Mila Crawford, but I have always enjoyed her books. But I could NOT do this book. It was all over the place. In one chapter you could be going from young to old, and back and forth. There was no set time or reason for what was going on. I just couldn't keep up.

I am not for second chance stories, but I do enjoy an oops baby book so I will give it a chance. But someone really needed to Beta read this book before it was released and give it a good edit.

As far as I know, this is the first book for the Underworld Kingdom series. This really should not be the first book. It has NOTHING to do with the RUIN and/or the mafia. The MC has nothing to do with the other books. This book should either be redone or taken out of the rotation for this Underworld Kingdom series. And I do not say that lightly. I say that as someone that was seriously confused about what was going on.

This book didn't work for me. Like at all.

First, this book had too much in the past. 31 chapters in the past to be exact. This was an instant attraction, so really this was just overkill and a lot of repeating. Then I'm a virgin and I don't want to use a condom, and he's like ok. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see what the next "shocker" will be.

Second, this has mafia and motorcycle club references. What happened in this book would never happen in either mafia or MC. Calvin would've never stepped foot in a prison for starters. Not to mention, based on the circumstances of what actually happened, he shouldn't have spent a day incarcerated.

Then when he gets out was just unbelievable as well. Not that they get back together, because hello, they had instant attraction so of course, they are. This whole he has to do a couple of jobs then he's out is ridiculous too. You don't get out of the mafia or a MC. Not alive anyway...

DNF

So I had been waiting for this underworld series and this being the first book I was super excited unfortunately this just isn’t for me. I DNF at about 20% the writing isn’t for me it’s very cheesy written and sappy. I thought it would be abit dark edged but it’s abit to sweet for me. That being said I’m fussy so this could be great for others that like sweet and sappy.

Hm... okay... I've been so looking forward to the Underworld Kings series: 'mafia families waging war, danger and violence, arranged and forced marriages, angst, love, and everything in-between' 😍 sounds right up my alley!!
And then the series kicks of with Razor's Edge. Well, I must say: not a good start of a mafia series if you ask me!? Not that it was a bad story per se, it was just not at all what I expected.
No mafia families waging war, no danger and violence, arranged and forced marriages, very little angst. This was a saccharine sweet love story, instant and second chance love, with a super kid thrown into the mix. The 'past' took up a too large part of this book. The 'present' got a little better, but it was not what I had expected... at all. 😔 And then, just before the end, a mafia-like scene (kidnap/almost rape rescue shoot out) was added. The whole thing felt not only very rushed, but also forced and 'mandatory'.... like the author felt the need to add some mafia to the book to make it fit into the series?? I thought it was downright ridiculous... and it totally backfired on me! 🥴
I almost never rate a book lower than 3 stars. And considering I actually finished this book 😏 it gets my 3 stars. However... I sincerely hope this is the least book of the Underworld Kings series!! 🤞🏻🙏🏼
Mila Crawford was a new-to-me author; if this is her 'style' (which, again, was not that bad, just... not for me!!), I don't think I'll read another one of her books any time soon.
Oh... and another thing: Calvin was blond!? So... who's the guy on the cover?? 🤔

Love IS Enough

This stunning instalove story had me on the ‘Razor’s Edge’ of swooning, crying, and cheering on all of the wonderful characters. Calvin and Ellison’s story is fraught with adversity, danger, action, and a timeless love that’ll make your heart melt! I love how Mila Crawford’s characters are so perfectly imperfect! A must read!

Absolutely LOVED Calvin and Ellison’s story. A young love at first sight for star-crossed lovers and a second chance romance that is everything. Even had a twist I didn’t see coming. First book I’ve read from this author but it won’t be the last.

My review:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat factor:🔥🔥🔥

This book spans the course of over a decade. When Ellison’s family move across the street from Calvin’s when they are 16, it is love at first sight.

These two are beautiful together. Perfect in every way. Even from the beginning, they knew they wanted forever with each other.

Unfortunately, when Calvin must deal with the abuse from his father, the head of the local motorcycle club, and he lands in prison, all of his future plans go up in smoke.

Now, ten years later, Calvin returns to realize nothing is as he expected, especially the beautiful and talented daughter he never knew about.

This story was suspenseful and will make you have all the feels!

This is the first book in the 101 Love series by multiple authors. So be sure to check out the others in this series. You would think that a Physics professor would be a geek and nerd his whole life right. Welp that is wrong he came from something else. Now that he has made it to where he wants in life she has to appear. Isn't that how it always is. You think you are on the right path then bam something smacks right into you. Well, this would be a female that comes from the same past as him. They both have instant chemistry. There is something there that they will find out just might be a huge issue for them to get a HEA. With that being said be sure the check it out. It is great.

Razor's Edge by Mila Crawford is part of the Underworld Kings Series but is a complete standalone book. This is the story of Ellison and Calvin. Ellison moves to new town where she meets the neighbor Calvin who is around her age. Ellison father a police detective / chief of police. Calvin's father is the president of a MC and is very abusive to him along with his mom. But Calvin knows that Ellison is something special from the start but things don't go well on their path. This book does stat them in their teenage years and then escalates a few years ahead. Enjoyed.

0.25 ⭐️

There is nothing worse than finding a book that has a plot that you like and realizing that it is horribly written and developed.

Since I started reading it, I realized that there were many things wrong with this book and as I progressed, I simply reinforced that thought. Normally I'm not one to read reviews, but I was curious and I read some reviews to see if anyone thought the same as me (and I still didn't finish it). And indeed there was someone who had already verbalized, or at least written in words what seemed wrong with this book.

Really, it seems that no editor went over this book. The narrative structure and the writing is terrible. Jumps in time that you don't even realize they happened because there's nothing to distinguish them. This is just one of the bad things about this book, because we are just talking about the writing.

Now let's move on to the development of the story and the characters. Probably the only character who is half saved from this book is Calvin, because all the others are a cheap excuse.

Speaking of the story: because of the series to which this book belongs, one would have thought that it would be a dark Romance, and you find yourself with a "beautiful" high school romance; removing the poorly written narrative structure, we can say that the first part of the story is beautiful and calm. Super badly told, but pretty. From the leap in time, the development of the story is disgusting. Literally a waste because in this type of plot, the trope of second chances has a lot of potential, if you know how to write and develop it. This author definitely didn't know how to do it.

The story has many holes, which partly have to do with the poorly made narrative structure, but we go in parts. The story is divided when the MC’s are met at 16, from there there is a time jump of two years (badly told), and then a time jump of 10 years. But in the first jump of time, things are left unfinished; for example, at first they tell you that the brother, Fox, has a girlfriend and that he is super in love with that girl, and two years later, she is not mentioned again, as if she had never existed.

It is assumed that in the story his father was the president of a motorcycle club, and that Fox was already part of that club, but we never really see the club acting. For those of us who read this type of book, we know what these types of "organizations" do (at least in fiction), but we never see that the MC gets involved (because in theory he should be out of), and really the club has no interference in the story, other than in the fact that the father was a criminal, because to be honest, the father did not need to be part of a motorcycle club to be an abuser and a criminal. The club was too much. It was the way of giving meaning to the MC’s reputation as a bad boy so that it was the typical story of a good girl/bad boy, but once again the club was too much.

Normally I would have been excited about the surprise pregnancy trope. Unlike many, I do love this trope, but the development of this story ruined it. At the time I found the plot twist of the brother about who his real father was more interesting than the one of pregnancy. In the end that plot twist was a waste of time, because literally it had nothing to do with the story, nor did it affect a single thing in the plot. Really, I don't know what the author was trying to do with that.

Now, the final part of the book, a decade later. What a terrible development. Ellison became stupid. What was that, treating Calvin as if the guy were some kind of serial killer? She treated him as if he had killed more people than his father. She talks about him as if before killing his father, he had been a troubled boy when it was known that he was not. He behaved in the best way, not only to be with her, but not to be like his father and Ellison talks about him as if he had always been a problematic and violent boy who liked to hurt people as a sport.

Ellison did not act as a protective mother, but as a vengeful and proud woman who only wanted to hurt her daughter's father. All that last part, I really had a very angry time with her, with Fox, even with Adele herself (although the little one saves herself a little). Sometimes the dialogues gave me a lot of cringe. They didn't make any sense or a good narrative structure.

Because of these poorly written books, the tropes of surprise pregnancy and second chances are quite hated.

Really, there is nothing to rescue from this book. The only thing that that book served me was to complete my annual challenge.

Too bad, I don't think I'll ever read anything by this author, again.

The dark romances, the male MC being head over heels in love with the female- no questions asked- is a dream. ultimately was mixed with emotions of 3 or 4 star reading .... I really liked the story line.. but so did not like the errors

Gest of the story is >>Ellison aka Ellie has moved to a new town for a new start with her family after a tragic event . The first day there the neighbors come over to say hi and bam Ellie faints to the ground right in front of the most gorgeous guy she has ever seen. Talk about first impressions. Calvin was in shock at first cause one minute he is thinking how beautiful she is and the next he is holding her in his arms as she goes through an epilepsy episode. When she wakes from it she is embarrassed but Calvin already knows he wants her and to be her hero and the one she leans on. The fact that her dad is a cop and his dad is the head of the MC gang is just another obstacle to deal with. Calvin's dad was abusive to his mom,his older brother and him . He didn't want anything to do with that life but he did want Ellie and he just had to convince her dad he was trust-worthy as well. Soon him and Ellie are inseparable and dating through their high school years. Until one night and one action even if it was protecting his mom put him away for 10 years.

If you like young love and second chance romances you will love this read as long as you can over look the above mentions as it happens a lot thru out the story ... Please don't get me wrong the Storyline is amazing just needs editing and proofing work.....
There is heart-ache as well as angst and drama . Though we all know the strongest loves come through the hurdles we go through and if we can just get to the other side. The same is for Ella/Ellie and Calvin. This story will get you in the feels and had me tearing up in places. Calvin and Ellie are sweet and passionate and he is so possessive and protective of her..... in the end you get your HEA and epilogue and all is right in the world.... worth the read....

✨ DENISE’S DREAMY REVIEW ✨

Razor’s Edge is the first book I’ve ever read by this author and let me tell you, I was intrigued especially by the summary!

I’m going back and forth with my rating for this because while the first half of the book was good, I felt like the last half was too rushed!! I felt like there were certain topics and places in time that could have delved deeper with what happened, details, and such. Things happened so quickly and the next thing you know, I was wishing and wanting for more of these two in a sense where I understood their relationship, their progression and fallbacks, and just more of them — in greater depth and detail. The time jumps also threw me in for a loop! I was questioning myself at times.

In a mafia / MC romance, I was looking for more. There was a very small sense of it when it came to Calvin’s life and their dealings, but that was all it was. I was expecting something dark, suspenseful, and sexy. But really, it was more of a coming of age, but of hearts and flowers romance with a few tropes I wasn’t expecting, but didn’t hate. It didn’t exactly satisfy my need for a good mafia/MC biker romance read!

Despite my mixed feelings, this was a meet cute story between two neighbors who found love. It was heartwarming, although, heartbreaking at times (please know there are some triggering themes going on in this book.) It evoked a few emotions out of me while reading, I couldn’t help but feel for these two. I really did enjoy Ellison and Calvin so much more than I thought (especially the first half of the book) — these characters are what sort of kept me going. I loved watching their relationship grow and blossom and the aspects of Calvin’s life bleed into Ellison’s!

I’m excited to take a read into the other books in this world!

Razor's Edge (Underworld Kings Series) by Mila Crawford is the story of Ellison a young girls whose parents have moved her to a new town for a fresh start. Between the death of her older brother and the ripple effect it had on her parents but also on her, starting new is the best thing. According to her parents it is but to Ellison she has left the only life she knows and especially her friends. That all changes when she answers the door to the neighbors across the street. The boy with the emerald green eyes and blond hair, she is instantly smitten.  Calvin didn't want to meet the new neighbors. His mom just wants to act like they are normal but being the kid of the president of a notorious MC isn't normal. But when he takes one look at Ellison he knows she is the one for him. His dad is the president of the MC and her dad is chief of police. The two have a rough road to being together. This is their story. I enjoy a good young adult romance story and this one spans over sometime. With highs and lows, twist and turns this young couple have to endure quite a bit till their happily ever after.  I enjoyed every bit of their journey. The interaction between Calvin and Ellison drew me in and I was continuously rooting for them. I especially loved the ending. Do not want to give anything away regarding their journey. Just enjoy the ride. I will say I always love a precocious child. A 4 star read for me.

One of the books from the new Underworld Kings universe...... lots of different authors writing a series of standalone books illed with mafia families waging war, danger and violence, arranged and forced marriages, angst, love, and everything in-between.

Light or dark, twisted or sweet, the Underworld Kings has something for every reader.

This was my first read by Mila and it was a good, enjoyable read, not completely what I was expecting.....

A forbidden / opposites / coming of age type read..... Ellison and her family have just moved to South Vale for a fresh start, her father being in the police force, they are looking to escape a family tragedy. The end up moving across the street from Calvin and his family, who run a motorcycle shop and his father is the President of an MC gang. Ellison suffers from epilepsy and fainted at his feet at their first meeting, which was a memorable start for their relationship! They are teens when they first meet and have an instant soul deep connection, with the story continuing on over the next 12 years. An event takes place which alters how their lives turn out......

A good enjoyable read, I was expecting a darker more suspenseful type of read, but I still enjoyed this, watching this couple grow and adapt to what life threw at them over the years.

Hits you were it hurts

Razor’s Edge is book 1 in the Underworld Kings Series. I’ve been dying to read this series for a while now. I was emotional attached to this story in a major way with Eli’s medical condition. My son has the exact same seizures as Ellie and often wondered if they are true seizures (he feels they are, has exactly the same feelings and symptoms as Ellie) I’m aware that this isn’t a way to diagnosis my kid and I’m not he’s been diagnosised with epilepsy by a neuro had surgery and yet still has these black spells we call them, because dr say it’s not actually seizures. Reading Ellison and Calvins story just hit me so hard because of it all. I feel how hard she struggled dealing with everything. I cried huge tears when she saw Calvin at his lowest and was begging to talk to him. As I write this review I have cold chills. This was so close to my heart so maybe I am being bias. But I honestly thought it was amazing. The way Cal loved Ellie is the love we lol look for everyday. How she literally fell at his feet, it was all so ironically touching. I was blown away by their instant connection. The childhood Calvin lived was so different heartbreaking from the way Elisions parent loved and protected her. Yet she was still lost and broken when they met. Well I’m off to read book 2. See you people on the flip side.
