Cover doesn’t reflect quality!
I’m disappointed that the publisher for Emma Block didn’t remove the placeholder cover because I’m sure that I’m not the only one that was hesitant to pick up the book for that reason.
But there’s so many more projects that Emma shares than what she had in her other watercolor book. It deserves to have a good cover to get people interested in what is available inside.
I could see how these projects could be used also with gouache with different steps.

Love this tutorial book, and Emma Block's style of teaching (and illustration). I own Block's first book The Joy of Watercolor and I like this book just as much. The only differences I noticed was that Block has trimmed down her list of color supplies and offered substitutions for certain colors, and she lists what type of paper would be best with each lesson.

lovely, simple and detailed instructions
Quickly browsed through to get familiar with the practices. The instructions seem simple yet detailed enough. Can’t wait for all my supplies to arrive so I can start practicing.
