Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

This book should be good but because of some scenes that made me feel annoyed with it thats why i only give it 4 stars and not a 5 stars😂😂😂

It annoys me that the hero and people around the heroine and people in that city, always reminds that the hero have been with many girls before the heroine. Damn even the hero himself said it to the heroine that he been with many woman before her like 3-4 times and for me thats so unnecessary 😂 i hate when the hero have to mention something like that in their relationship when there’s many things to talk about or mentioning 😂😂😂 so yes the hero is a manwhore before the heroine😂

‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT FOR THE HERO BUT NOT THE HEROINE BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT THE HERO WAS JOKING AROUND 😂

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS A ALPHA MALE BUT NOT POSSESSIVE SO IT SUCKS LOL

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS A VIRGIN

‼️‼️‼️HOT SMUT SCENES

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO SAID HE’S BEEN CELIBATE FOR A WHILE THO

‼️‼️‼️DRAMA WITH OW AND OM BUT NOT TOO ANNOYING OR TOO MUCH

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING… MARRIED AND HAVE KIDS and they are sooo adorable🥺🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️SAFE QUICK ROMANTIC HOT LOVE STORY

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 but if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book, i will never acknowledge you 🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

I kinda got tired of the keep bring up the woman you sleep with vibes.. like even Lilly knows he sleeps around and is a playboy and that is like the first 7% of the book.  It kinda made me go meh for the rest of the book.. beside that it was an okay book.

Caleb has been watching and pinning for Lilly since he met her but he has a reputation and he starts off being friends and slowly work his way into more as for Lilly she has a reputation but it's not hers it's her mother's as a town hoe.. but she isn't she's a workaholic and has no time for men but that doesnt stop her lunch or dinners with Caleb they have a slow start that grows into more.. they do have few bumps her virginity and few town ppls..

Not ow/om drama (unless you count few glares and snide comments), No cheating, slight secondary character, drama, Sexy times, virgin gal and sorta manwhore (he talked about how many woman)

Recommend-maybe

This was a refreshing story. More like a slow burn because Caleb takes his time with Lilly. Yeah, he's been with women before her but there is no OW drama except for one girl and Caleb takes care of it. Lilly's mother is basically the town w*#re and people think she's the same way so she's treated that way. I loved that Caleb's family was on her side once they realized that he was very serious about her. Hated her mother but loved Caleb's family! Great story and now I'm wanting Rome's story!

There is absolutely nothing interesting in this book. Definitely no “hard” anything going on either. It’s so ridiculously boring. I did like the characters but the men in this series are supposedly manwh o r e s but they are such cowards with their love interests. I seriously don’t see how that correlates.

Besides that, I can not stand the editing issues that are prevalent in ALL of this author’s books. Why hasn’t this been resolved like a thousand books into her career by now?? Come on! Just sloppy!

As for the the failed continuity issues where in book one of the series Lilly has a sister in this book two of the series she’s an only child. Or in book one Rome (third brother) is dating the town s l u t who won’t eat a real meal around him (which seems to bother him like she’s important to him) in this book two he has been in love with his high school teacher but has never pursued it. Even ten years later. It’s disrespectful to go be a Tom cat and yet claim to only want one person but to never do anything about it. Unattractive too. Why would a woman want a lame a s s man like that?!? That was also the problem I had with the characters in book one.

Anyway, they are all likable characters but not likable (for the men anyway) at the same time. Added to that, that the stories are boring, it’s a no go for me. Good luck.

Lilly’s mother was the town whore and from a young age Lilly had been branded with the same reputation. As such she avoided men in general – and the Hard boys in particular. Caleb Hard was certainly a player, but after being introduced to Lilly something about her struck him as completely different. Intrigued, Caleb desperately wants to learn more. Will Lilly be willing to risk her heart and her reputation on a man like Caleb?

I found this to be a fun and seriously steamy story. While both Lilly and Caleb’s characters were somewhat predictable this didn’t detract too much from my enjoyment of the story. Caleb has a large and rambunctious family which always is a great addition to a story with plenty of antics and interesting secondary characters. I also likely that Lilly had her own set of close friends with Aunty Betty and Eliza. It gave me the strong feeling that even with her personal strength and determination Lilly had her own tribe to help uplift and protect her and Caleb couldn’t take advantage of her emotions and feelings for him.

I was both relieved and impressed that Caleb and Lilly took their time in getting to know each other. While it’s fairly standard for an erotic romance to have the main characters jump into bed and be intimate pretty early on I really enjoyed that Caleb took his time with Lilly and let things progress a little more naturally and slowly. This was wonderful to read and really heightened my enjoyment of the story – seeing Lilly and Caleb form a connection, interact together and it let me see how they could work in the longer term and not just be simply infatuated with each other and have that whither down the track. It was lovely to read and really bumped up the believability for me.

That said there was certainly plenty of steam and passion once Lilly and Caleb made it to the bedroom. Readers looking for an explicit and steamy story should definitely find this aspect of the book meets their expectations.

With a good sized cast of secondary characters, some fun and interesting conflict with other members of the town and a lovely emotional and slow paced romance this is a great book. I enjoyed the small tag towards the end giving the reader a small glimpse of what the next book in the series will be and feel that this is a steamy and lovely story.

Whoop! Whoop! I discovered a new series readers friend by Sam Crescent. Yes, I am familiar with Mrs. Crescent writing, but this is my first time reading (The Hard Boys) in this book series. Now I must go back to book #1 and meet James Hard. But enough about James…...let’s talk Taken Hard which is book #2.

Caleb Hard is known for being a playboy in his small town. He is the towns mechanic and was once a ladies’ man. Caleb is now reforming his ways to find a woman to settle down with and raise a family. He wants what his mom and dad have and believes he has found it with the town’s librarian Lilly. Caleb cannot stop thinking about Lilly and finally asks her out as friends to get to know her better. Spending more time with Lilly, Caleb finally breaks down and tell her that he would like to date her romantically. Caleb treats Lilly like a precious diamond to be treasured forever.

Lilly is a librarian in a small town. She is the talk of the town most days, because of her mothers’ bad choices in the past. This makes Lilly stay to herself and alone. When Caleb shows his interest in her, it’s a breath of fresh air. They form a bond of friendship, that eventually turns into love.

Caleb and Lilly do have their issues like all relationships do, but they figure it out together. This brings them closer until they can’t live without the other. I really did enjoy this short novella and so will you!

This wasn’t her best. This author is very hit or miss and this was a big miss. It could’ve been good but she decided to make it suck by REPEATEDLY mentioning over and over and over and over what a man-wh0re the hero used to be. Seriously, why was it necessary to constantly bring up how many women he used as cum dumps? It might make sense to the plot if the heroine was leery of him due to his obvious poor character traits, but she wasn’t reticent so it made no sense.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, she then decided to ruin the sex scenes by putting a sleazy, impersonal layer of latex between them. Nothing ruins a sex scene faster than gross condom use. It reduces intensity, intimacy, the sense of oneness and it makes the heroine no different than any other female the hero has stuck his overused std-trap appendage into. It says the hero doesn’t trust the heroine and needs to protect himself from her. It lacks commitment. I can’t think of anything less swoon in a romance.

It’s too bad. This would’ve been a sweet read without that sliminess ruining it.

Not 100% safe. Hero past is mentioned ad nauseum to the point I was nauseous. There’s one scene were the heroine is treated rudely by one his former castoffs. Hero is celibate after he realizes he has feelings for heroine. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No cheating or sharing. Heroine is verbally attacked by OM. HEA with epilogue years out.

In book one she has a sister but doesn’t have one in this one. It’s not like she died or disappeared, she says she’s never had any siblings🤷‍♀️ her son in the epilogue names goes from Robby to Bobby. Just so many errors. I’d rate it a start higher with some editing.

Caleb

Caleb was the bad boy. But he really was a great guy who just had not found the right one until Lilly. This is a very sweet series.

It was slow but good.

It was slow building but it got to the point. The characters were believable and the story line was solid.
