…and the fear it bred had one unintended consequence.
Cristin de Monaham is a powerful and respected warlord. Her family and the planet of ice she rules are all that matters. When she hears about how Prometheus freed the slaves, she grows worried.
Would he come for her next?
On a barren world of freezing wind and snow, one doesn’t get second chances. It is better to kill and survive than risk diplomacy.
Rather than wait on this conqueror, she’ll go to him—with her allies in tow, she’ll crush him.
Alistair is struggling in his new role. Rebuilding a society is more than he bargained for and he’s forgotten his goal.
Defeating the Commonwealth.
Will he be ready for this new threat? Or is Prometheus’ fire about to be extinguished by an ice planet and its warlord?
You’ll love this fifth book in The Great Insurrection series, because not everything is black and white. Everyone has something to protect.
I used to deliver pizza. I was pretty good at it, too. I mean, it's not that hard, but if I'm not going to brag, who is, right? Anyways, so I'm delivering pizza while I'm in college, and my boss has been in the pizza industry like six years. He's supposed to graduate from college this year, and I ask him, what are you going to do after college? We're all supposed to go out and conquer the world right after college, so this guy has to have some kind of plan.
He looked at me like I was delusional.
"I'm a writer, man."
Those four words changed my life more so than anything else ever spoken to me. I'd always written, since I was twelve participating in online-wrestling forums in which you acted out your character. I wrote because it came naturally. Never once, in the entirety of my nineteen years did I think that writing could be a career though, until a Pizza Sage said those four words to me.
So what did I do? I went home and wrote a short story and immediately understood that I was the greatest writer to ever touch a keyboard. I brought it to the Pizza Sage and he told me what anyone could have told me--it was horrible. I might be dumb, probably am, but I'm also tenacious.
I spent the next seven years writing almost every day. My first novel grew to the length of 40,000 words, then I threw it away. My second novel grew to 140,000 words. I didn't throw it away, but it was rejected about 50 times by agents. My next novel ended up at around 55,000 words, which I showed to a few friends and shelved. Then I wrote Dead Religion, which is the only reason I have an author page at Amazon.
I have had four short stories published, paid and unpaid. 'Effects May Vary' won an award that was voted on by readers, which was pretty cool.
I'm currently getting my Masters in Business at the University of Georgia's Terry School of Business. I'm doing this in order to not deliver pizzas but still keep the lights on. I have a girlfriend who will soon be my fiancé, and after ten years, I imagine she's ready for that title.
Well, Alistair Kane did it again. He captured a planet in his book and in this one he had to fight the Ice Queen and two more evil Warlords to keep it. I love Alistair/Prometheus. He's definitely a hero.
It's interesting to "watch" but I'm becoming aggravated. It's like when "someone" died and you KNEW they were coming back but it took BOOKS AND BOOKS for the lovers to reunite. It's tiresome and I cannot help but wonder what Alistair and Luna might accomplish as a couple. I'm certain we're not going to find out. I am not rushing through these or holding my breath as Iove through the pages. This is simply a chore now...I want to finish the journey I started. Watching the galaxies hammer at the hero is not how I want to spend my time, so I'm not currently spending much of my time reading. The fact I'm spending more than a day on each book is indicative of my loathing for this task. The writing is good, the story solid...just not my personal cup of tea.
The Allmother made the right choice when she choose Kane. As he learns more about his powers he becomes more of an unstoppable power. He is still working toward his ultimate goal of seeing his wife again. Going to start the next book in this series right away.
I read this in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. The Gods definitely favour Prometheus, when all is lost, he pulls it back from the brink to survive another day. Can’t wait for the next book.
These novels are decent, but I feel like there are a lot of words and not much plot movement. This story had two big events happen, but it's taking a really long time to get to the end of the storyline for sure.
What I love most about these series is how simple it can be. But also have great character development in it. I love the fact we deal with one problem per book and not a mass of other side plots that eventually get lost. That’s what love about this series so much! Absolutely solid!
The story continues and has remained just as intense and action packed as the other books in this series. Great writers with a great storyline and wonderful characters you stand behind and cheer on.
