I learned some things in here that I wasn't aware of, since the church in the Middle Ages isn't my gig at all, and the photos and details of the book are great. It is EXTREMELY English-centric, or at least Western Church-centric, barely mentioning Asia and Oceania (if at all) but I still managed to be surprised about a few things in the middle of Europe that were mentioned. Pretty even-handed, although having finished reading the book, I'm pretty tired of hierarchical religion.
