Following on from the success of Little One, from the same creative team comes Son, a declaration of love from parents to their son, with stunning art by award-winning illustrator Sonja Wimmer The long-awaited arrival of a child fills the hearts of all parents with love. That is what happened to the parents of this very special child. In this story they welcome his little son into the world, while they tell him all about this world, their illusions and their fears. They express how much they would like to overcome their fears for him, or prevent him from going through sad moments, but the job of a father is to fill his toddler with feathers, so that one day he can fly alone and feel protected, but, above all, so that find he finds his way home.
A book that the whole family will want to read again and again, to remind us of the simple joy of traveling along life’s highway together.

Beautiful book for parents to read with their child for years. Author Ariel Armada opens a world of possibilities showing a boy all the places he can go and the hope that is always there inside of him. Gorgeous illustrations by Sonja Swimmer show highlights from all over the world and include icons such as the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal plus animals and land features unique to countries across the globe. Swimmer used acrylics on grounded paper with a few touches of crayon and/or colored pencil to create her artwork. The text is affirming and will mean more and more to the listener as the years pass, however, it is fairly advanced and will not mean a great deal to the youngest of them except for pleasure in the act of reading together. What a perfect gift for expectant parents! Thanks for the preview copy, Amazon Vine!
The appeal of the book is exemplary and the illustrations our captivating. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It is written as if you are reading a poem. It tells of the bonding experience between a loving adult and child. Beautifully written.
The artwork is so pretty. Even though the sentences are long, I thought it was a beautiful way to tell a son that you love them and want to share the world with them. I’ll definitely reread this to my son when he’s older!
