அறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் மாஜி கடவுள்கள் :

கடலுக்கும் காற்றுக்கும் நம் பரதகண்டத்தில் மட்டுந்தான கடவுளர் இருந்தனரா? இங்கு மட்டுமே அவர்களுக்குப் புராணங்களும் புனித ஆலயங்களும் பூசாரிகளும் இருந்தனரா? நம் நாட்டவரின் கற்பனைத் திறனைப் போல் வேறு எங்குமே கண்டதில்லை என்பதும் உண்மை தானா? “இல்லை” என்று எடுத்துக் காட்டுகிறார் அண்ணா. கிரேக்க நாட்டிலே, ரோமிலே, பாபிலோனிலே, பிரிட்டனிலே, ஈஜிப்ட்டிலே இன்னும் உலகின் பற்பல பாகங்களிலே நம் தெய்வங்களுக்கு எந்த வகையிலும் எண்ணிக்கையிலும், ஆற்றலிலும் குறைவில்லாத தெய்வங்கள் நிறைந்திருந்தன என்று எடுத்துக் காட்டுகிறார், மாஜி கடவுள்கள் என்ற இந்த நூலில், ஒரு காலத்திலே அவைகளுக்கும் வானளாவிய ஆலயங்கள் இருந்தன; கோலாகலமான பூஜைகள் இருந்தன. ஹோமர் போன்ற பெருங்கவிகள் பாடும் பெருமையையும் அவை பெற்றிருந்தன. கண்ணன், கந்தன், வருணன், வாயு, சூரியன், சந்திரன் போன்ற தெய்வக் கதைகளுடன், பல்வேறு நாட்டுக் கடவுளரின் கதைகள் ஒத்திருப்பதையும், அந்நாட்டு மக்களின் கற்பனைத்திறன் எந்த அளவிலும் நமது கற்பனைத் திறனுக்குக் குறைந்தது அல்ல என்பதையும், தத்துவ விளக்கத்திற்கும் அவர்கள் கதையிலே பஞ்சமில்லை என்பதையும் “மாஜி கடவுள்கள்” விளக்கிக் காட்டுகிறது.

ஒரு காலத்திலே மக்களால் போற்றிப் புகழப்பட்ட கடவுள்கள் அந்த நாடுகளிலே இன்று இல்லை. அவைகள் மாஜிகளாக்கப்பட்டுச் சிற்பங்களாகச், சித்திரங்களாகக், காட்சிப் பொருள்களாகக், காட்சிச் சாலைகளிலே விளங்குகினறன. ஆனால் நமது நாட்டிலோ, பல லட்சங்கள் செலவில், புதிய புதிய கோயில்கள், கும்பாபிஷேகங்கள், நாள் தோறும் பாலாபிஷேகம், பள்ளியறைக் காட்சிகள் நடந்துகொண்டு தான் இருக்கின்றன!

இந்நூலில் கடவுளர் பலரைச் சித்தரித்திருக்கிறார் அண்ணா. அவைகளிலே தந்தையைக் கொன்ற கடவுள், தாயைத் - தங்கையைத் தாரமாக்கிக்கொண்ட கடவுள், காம விகாரம் பிடித்த கடவுள், பஞ்சமா பாதகங்களை அஞ்சாது செய்த கடவுள் - இவை போன்று இன்னும் பல வேடிக்கையான கடவுளர்களைக் காண்பீர்கள்.

“மாஜி கடவுள்கள்”, கடவுளர்கள் பற்றி நமக்குத் தரப்பட்டுள்ள கருத்துக்கள் தவறானவை என்பதை விளக்குகிறது. கடவுள் தனமை பற்றி நாம் நன்கு சிந்தித்து நல்லதொரு முடிவு காண உதவுகிறது. ‘ஒன்றே குலமும் ஒருவனே தேவனும்’ என்ற தமிழரின் செந்நெறி பரவ வழிவகுக்கிறது.

Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai, (C. N. அண்ணாதுரை) affectionately known as Anna ("Elder brother") or Arignyar Anna (அறிஞர் அண்ணா - "Anna, the scholar"), was an Indian politician who served as 1st Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for 20 days in 1969 and fifth and last Chief Minister of Madras State from 1967 until 1969 when the name of the state of Madras was changed to Tamil Nadu. He was the first member of a Dravidian party to hold either post.

He was well known for his oratorical skills and was an acclaimed writer in the Tamil language. He scripted and acted in several plays. Some of his plays were later made into movies. He was the first politician from the Dravidian parties to use Tamil cinema extensively for political propaganda. Born in a middle-class family, he first worked as a school teacher, then moved into the political scene of the Madras Presidency as a journalist. He edited several political journals and enrolled as a member of the Dravidar Kazhagam. As an ardent follower of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, he rose in stature as a prominent member of the party.

Annadurai was known as one of the best Tamil orators during his time. He developed a style in Tamil public speaking using metaphors and pleasing alliterations, both in spoken and written language. Anna was also best known for his extempore speaking ability being very well affluent on rhetoric skills.

After his electoral success with his DMK in 1967, the Congress has not yet returned to power in Tamil Nadu. His government was the first in the country to be from a non-Congress party with full majority.

Annadurai travelled to New York for medical treatment and he was operated for Cancer in the gullet at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After he returned, he continued to address several official functions against medical advice. His health deteriorated further and he soon passed away. His funeral had the highest number of attendees until then, as registered with The Guinness Book of Records. An estimated 15 million people attended it. His remains were buried in the northern end of Marina Beach, which is now called Anna Memorial.

பகலுக்கு ஒரு தெய்வம், இரவுக்கு இன்னொன்று!
பஞ்சம் தரும் தேவதை ஒன்று,அதை போக்கும் தெய்வம் மற்றொன்று;
படை கலக்கும் தெய்வமொன்று,இடி முழக்கும் தெய்வம் ஒன்று,என்று வித விதமாக கடவுள்களை மக்கள் வழிப்பட்டு வந்தனர்..

மனமாசு நீக்க கூடிய பகுத்தறிவு கதிர் தோன்றிய பின்,பல தெய்வ வழிபாடு என்பது,உண்மையான ஆத்தீகமாகாது - மதமாகது - அருள் பெரும் வழியாகாது - மனமருள் கொண்ட மக்களை சூதுமதி மிகுந்த பூஜாரி கூட்டம் பிடித்தாட்டவே, கட்டிவிடபட்ட கற்பனை இது, இந்த எண்ணம் வெற்றி பெற்றது; அந்த வெற்றியின் காரணமாக பல கடவுள்கள் மாஜிகளாயினர்!

அந்த மாஜி கடவுள்களையே, நாம் மதத்தின் மாசு போக்கும் செயலைகூட,நாத்தீகமோ, என்று மருட்சியுடன் என்னும் மக்களுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தி வைக்கிறோம்
