Kelsey Nicole Price is a midwestern girl who shares her brain with a lovable bunch of cyborgs and a stray alien or two. While other girls were dreaming of Brad Pitt she was crushing hard on a certain android from Star Trek TNG.

As an adult she longed for a cyborg of her own so she decided she'd write him. One blue cyborg turned into a whole bunch of different colored cyborgs and she couldn't be happier that she gets to tell their stories.

When she's not writing she can be found watching Unsolved Mysteries with her hubby, snuggling her two cats, indulging in any kind of dessert and secretly wishing for a pet sloth.

“I’m coming for you and all your little cyborg friends, too.”

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😔🤓😘😄

The heroine: Oz - she is a tiny hacker with bright pink hair and a dark past. Her best friend is Poe from Dax’s book. She helped Poe find out information on where the headquarters of the cyborg rebellion was located, but since then she hasn’t heard a peep from Poe. Oz has a black-market chip implanted in her brain which makes her a faster and better hacker than she was before. The implant could have killed her, but she figured it was worth it. With the implant, she is able to hack into Viper’s processors to threaten him and control him.

The Hero: Viper (a.k.a. 578 453) - he is a technology model cyborg who has a horrific past thanks to the Global Allegiance and so he has an extreme aversion to being touched, especially by a human and he was a germaphobe despite the fact that his skin resisted germs. One thing Viper really can’t stand is for anyone to hack into his head, since the Global Allegiance used to go into his processors and try to overload them to see how much he could take. It was torture to him and nearly killed him on more than one occasion.

The Story: after breaking into cyborg rebellion headquarters, holding Viper hostage and finally finding out her friend Poe was OK, Oz collapsed. It turns out that the implant was killing her, and she ended up in a coma. Luckily Dax was able to turn off the implant and since she had information on where the HQ was, she had to stay with the rebellion from now on. Though Viper and most of the cyborgs didn’t trust her because of what she did when she broke in.

This one was cute. I have liked all the books in this series so far, but I really liked this one and not only because the cyborg was purple, and the heroine had pink hair so they would obviously go well together. Also, I liked it because he was a technology model, and she was a hacker. I work in the information technology sector, so I have to appreciate that. I did love Oz’s spunk and how she had been hurt in her past, but she was willing to die for the people she loved. Plus the nods to the Wizard of Oz didn’t hurt since that is my all time favorite.

It was a bit of a journey for Viper to go from hating Oz to wanting her to trusting her. I liked this story a lot more than the last book since there was much more of a conflict than the love fest between Poe and Dax from the very beginning of that book. I also liked that Viper had a background of being abused by the Global Allegiance, so he had to overcome much more in this book than Dax in the last book.

so I didn’t finish this one

And I will tell you why…

It turned me off at 45%!!!! Because she just does a complete 180 in the middle of being rightfully angry with her BFFL. I won’t give more than that so I do not spoil it for you but this nosedived in that scene so hard I actually stopped wanting to read it. And I kept trying but I lost 10000000% interest in this book because it was an insult to both herself and the readers. While you have to suspend belief for a lot of the contents in these books which I go along with because she writes generally very well… this one just no. I would have rather a real interaction than the forced connection to move the plot forward.

Rated for last two thirds of the story

Rating for beginning would have been lower. Did not buy their quick love fest. Felt like the author missed opportunity to have them talk via audio, video when she was locked in. Not to mention way for them to bond over their rotten past.
As for her being shocked over her friend, a reporter, finding out about her history? No way she would have been shocked that she researched her. I was unclear over her age, and where she met her. Would have assumed with her tech skills she was working legit and did not need to fall into destructive relationships.
For the rest of the story, it was great. Looking forward to “tank” story.

Riveting

Reading Viper has you on the edge of your seat, time and again.
Viper has always isolated himself due to his horrific past. It culminated in a radical aversion to touch.
Oz is a woman with a mission: rescue her best friend from the cyborg rebellion. Little did she know her friend was bonded to her cyborg and living her best life.
Oz's life is on the line due to embedded tech in her brain and just when she and Viper fall in love...

Another great addition to this series!

I have loved this series since the beginning! Vipers story has alot of triggers, but the HEA for both our hero and heroine make it available wonderful sorry. If you like stories where the main characters help each other overcome their pasts, this book is perfection!

Wow! This SFR has it all! Cyborgs, humans, pink haired pixie warrior (OZ), kidnapping, advanced technological implants, rebellion, love, sex, and some of the sweetest lines ever read.

Viper Tech Cyborg

Viper is a cyborg and he is purple. Because of his horrific past where torture was deviant and so debilitating that touch is anathema to him. Oz is a pink haired woman who breaks into the rebellion HQ and causes havoc.

Love the Cyborg Rebellion!!!

I have lived every single Cyborg’s story that Kelsey had released so far in her Cyborg Chronicles! Acer is still my favorite but I love Viper so much. Also I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I sometimes want to stay in this world forever.

Viper's phobia about germs has been a running issue through the previous stories. But Oz may be just the one to free him from his fears.

All the feels

I loved Oz and Viper. Sure, Viper was a big jerk at the beginning, but he turned it around and was exactly what Oz needed.

Reread April, 2022: Yeah idk what I was thinking the fist time I read this...just changed my rating from a 4 to a 2 out of 5. I'm still unsettled by the quick turn over into romance. The romance after that is okay but not amazing.

First read: December, 2021:
It was a pretty good book!
There was one part that I was uncomfy with...it seems extremely traumatic to be locked away in a room for weeks and to have your demons at you, so when Oz is finally free and still has that hallway kissing scene with Viper...idk I just thought it was really sudden and jarring.
But I LOVED every other part of this story! Looking forward to the next :)
