The title of the book promised much but in essence there is very little about Ghislaine Maxwell but rather a lot of conjecture surrounding her father, his business affairs and his alleged role as a spy.
Further, for an investigative journalist, the quality of the writing is atrocious. The book is littered with typographical errors and I found myself re- reading the same paragraphs in different places throughout the book.
I can honestly say I will never buy another book by this author.
Even a reader with 2nd grade reading skills can see this book is absolute garbage. It's simply a written regurgitation of articles previously and mostly erroneously written. Kirby Sommer's is total fraud.
This was an interesting memoir on the mysterious Ghislaine Maxwell. I learned a lot about her childhood and early adulthood. You also get to know her dad Robert Maxwell very well, and their relationship explains a lot about his daughter Ghislaine and why she would want to partner with someone like Jeffrey Epstein.
One of the big questions posed in the book is whether or not Robert Maxwell was an Israeli spy? The answer appears rather obvious once you discover how the Israeli government responded to Robert Maxwell’s death.
This book should have been better proofread, but it’s not bad enough to make you want to stop reading. It’s just annoying at times and a tragic outcome for a book that brings a lot to the reader. Hopefully the author will do better with proofreading future books.
This is a very disappointing book. It is full of informational repeats. There is very little in it that has not been published elsewhere. Nor do the authors write with any verve or originality. Some sections appear to be cut and paste jobs from previous material. The only merit in this book is that it brings together some of the material about Ghislaine Maxwell that appears derived from seems like cuttings jobs. If this compilation had been executed with charm, it would not be so bad. But it is done in a clunky manner that is most disappointing. I would not recommend this book. There is nothing original in it that I can detect—waste of money.
I have been following Ms Kriby Sommers for maybe two years on her patreon and on Substack. She wrote this and other her books and essays in collaboration with investigative journalists or on her own but with substantially verifiable resources. Apparently, Ms Sommers was the victim of a walthy Jewish person, for decades. So I find this book a reliable resource. If Ms Kirby says that Ms Maxwell was a Mosad asset, then she was. Not that her being an asset is very relevant to the story of her life. Maybe her own childhood is more important to understand than anything. I highly recommend Ms Sommers as a reliable source.
Not worth the money paid for kindle edition. There are lots of typos throughout. It’s an interesting read but doesn’t reveal anything that can’t be read elsewhere.
