It's a time for gratitute and forgiveness. Hope for a brighter tomorrow, in the wake of tragedy. It's the Katama Bay Wellness Spa way.
Six months ago, Janine Grimson learned her best friend had an affair with her husband of twenty years -- at the engagement party of their oldest daughter, Maggie.
In the wake of that horrific event, Janine rekindled her relationship with her mother, Nancy, moved full-time to Martha's Vineyard, and found herself stronger, better, and brighter than ever before.
Now, news from Manhattan shakes her to the core.
Something tragic has happened to her ex-husband, Jack Potter -- the only man she's ever truly loved -- just two weeks before Thanksgiving.
The tragedy tears a hole through Janine's heart, especially as she watches her daughters deal with the pain. They never asked for any of this and now Janine is left to pick up the pieces.
But what's more: Jack's tragedy results in a terribly lonely woman -- a woman Janine had thought she would love all her life-long. Maxine Aubert, the woman who'd wronged her in every possible way. What's to be done about her?

At their daughter, Maggie’s engagement party Janine Grimson Porter discovers that her husband, Jack Porter, has been in a relationship with her best friend since childhood, Maxine Aubert. Her marriage of twenty years falls apart. Janine returns to Martha Vineyard getting involved in the Katama Bay Wellness Spa. She reconciles with her mother finding forgiveness provides hope for tomorrow. Then a tragic event occurs in New York which will change her life again plus her daughters and former best friend. The timing is 2 weeks before the big family Thanksgiving get together. A beautifully, complicated, artfully written story. I felt I was right beside the characters as the description put the reader right beside the various characters involved. The characters were well defined both physically and especially emotionally. They were very realistic and relatable. This is book # 5 in the Katama Bay series. It contains enough backstory along with the present to be read as a stand-alone. I volunteered to read A Thanksgiving Full of Gratitude. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is voluntary and my own. A Highly Recommended Read.
A Thanksgiving Full of Gratitude is book 5 in the Katama Bay series by Katie Winters and back to Martha Vineyard with the Remington, Grimson, Potter families.

A Thanksgiving Full of Gratitude by Katie Winters is a 2021 publication.
A few years ago, I made a vow that I would make a pointed effort to find Thanksgiving themed novels, since this holiday seems to be ignored in the rush to jump from Halloween to Christmas. I hate that. This is a holiday that gives us a moment to gather and reflect on, despite all our differences, how much we have to be grateful for.
Katie Winters has a slew of holiday themed books- Most are short, novella length stories, and are part of a series, but despite occasionally coming across some characters you are obviously supposed to know, but don’t, it’s not all that necessary to read the books in order.
This story, the fifth in the Katama Bay series, is centered on Janine Grimson, a woman who discovers her husband and best friend, Maxine, were having an affair. But a shocking development brings Janine and Maxine back together. Can they ever recapture their bond after so much pain and tragedy?
I liked the idea of this story as friendship takes center stage, as does forgiveness. Romantic love also comes into play, but mostly it’s a story of two women with a shared past who come full circle after a devastating betrayal and shocking tragedy.
While there were some weak areas and improbabilities, overall, this is an enjoyable holiday tale. It’s easy to get into the story, though I couldn’t feel any deep depth in a book of this length- still it concludes with an uplifting tone and a promise of solid renewal, gratefulness, and hope for the future.
Overall, not exactly a traditional type of Thanksgiving tale- but It was a lovely gathering of people who love each other- celebrating family, friends, and exuding gratitude for all their blessings. 🦃
Janine has had her life turned upside down by jack potter. The story starts in Paris for her 33rd birthday and winds up back on the vineyard with lots of bumps along the way. This story of thanksgiving and forgiving has lots of characters in this story - Janine, jack. Maxine, Maggie, Alyssia, henry, Cole and more. Definitely worth a read to see who ends up at thanksgiving dinner and see how janine’s life becomes fulfilled and happy without jack potter.
This one ran a tad long for me, but it wasn’t so long I didn’t want to finish it. There is a lot going on in this book…the storyline is good—but somewhat convoluted. The characters are interesting, the plot twists and turns keep you flipping those pages, and the ending sneaks right up on you and stops cold. To be honest, I wanted more!
If you are enjoying the series, you’ll want to grab this book as well. Be sure to have your tissues ready…I cried like crazy again! Thank you, Katie Winters. ❤️
Life continues in Katama Bay for Janine and her family. Following the death of her former husband Janine, and her daughters struggle to move forward and continue their lives. As her former best friend Maxine struggles with the loss of Jack, Janine is determined to rebuild their friendship and support Maxine. As the Remington-Grimson-Potter family haters to celebrate Thanksgiving happiness and new relationships make for a day of celebration
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
Katie Winters very deftly uses flashbacks to define the story. The main character is Janine, who has remade herself back on Martha's Vineyard with the help of her mother and step-sisters. The intricate plot is very interesting and while there are many devastating incidents, there is also a very satisfying ending. I loved the idea of how we can change ourselves and our relationships with others. I highly recommend this book.
Another wonderful storytelling event by Katie. Janine has been through hell and now has to find that forgiveness that will hopefully set her on her path to a new and brighter future. Lots of family drama that brings these strong women together at a time when it is imperative to count your blessings. I received this arc for an honest review.
What a lovely family story. The flaws families have and still love each other deeply. We are all on a journey in our lives. The sadness, happiness and life’s experience make us who we are.
Katie Winters’s love of family and friends is evident in her writing. She develops female characters into strong women who surpass all levels of love and forgiveness.
I just could not catch the flow of this. Too many characters in such a short story, seemed of random thoughts, an outline of a story not edited. I got the point though.
