I thought the eighties and nineties were fun. Now it’s time to get trippy. (Very punny, right?) I’m finally going to get payback for the death of my mother, hopefully stopping the threat of the Rogue bloodline once and for all.

All I have to do is survive the 70's and my deepening feelings for the sexy Mr. Cheesecake. Is it possible for me to have the life I want as well as continue working for an agency like TIME? For now, I’ll keep on steppin’ straight to the disco. Maybe try a little peace and love. Ha! Yeah, right. This isn’t going to end the way I think it will, is it?

Next stop for our heroine: the 1970's. I shudder at the thought.

This is book three of the series, but it works pretty well as a standalone. All the essential bits are covered early on.

Time traveling witch assassin. That kind of just says it all. Add in an uninspiring midlife and the snarky attitude to go with it and you have a real winner here. The story is well written and easy to read with a intriguing setup and excellent characters. I loved our heroine and her attitude towards the entire thing. The story moves at a good pace and includes plenty of mystery, intrigue and action to keep things interesting. There is also a nice bit of humor as well. Overall, this is another great story and I am definitely looking forward to more.

Highly recommended.

That ending has pretty much wiped all my thoughts about the rest of the book clean out of my brain. It’s a twist I didn’t see coming, but absolutely adored. The story brought us more shenanigans and ridiculousness from Ro and 'her' TIME team, all told with the author’s signature humor and snark that I’ve grown to love so much. And now that a few more things are out in the open, I can’t wait to see where Ro goes next

4.5 Binge read series 1-5

PART THREE: JUST IN TIME
“Time was the magical agency used to clean up the past to save the present and the future.” Nobel on the surface, but just who determines the course humanity and the rest of the world should take? Who are the other powers behind the scenes pulling the strings and do they really know better than anyone else how history should unfold? Can they be trusted?Just as is the case for many other political scenarios, those dubbed Rogues see themselves as freedom fighters against oppression. TIME agency is protecting humanity from, up to now unknown ( by Rowena) forces which makes the 70’s an apt time setting for this episode. Rowena is made aware of other players in the living three, or is it 4, way chess-game her life has become. Some schemes and contingency plans are brought to light and implemented and secrets are revealed as well as created. Not everyone makes it out of this episode alive, which may or may not be a good thing for Rowena’s future self and wellbeing. She has yet to fathom the ripples (and costs of) she has made with her actions. This is somewhat of a honeymoon section of the series and surprises are revealed. Even though there may not seem like much is really going on a far as action scenes, the plot does move forward with twist or two revealed. which is often the case in dealing with the twisty, scheming Fae playing a long game against both witches and humans.

I just finished part three and I have some questions. I have a few questions about the TIME agency world. IF there is only one assassin / Humbree per generation, and witches usually breed with other witches, “Because it’s easier to make magic with other witches.” says Artie. Have there been more than one child born to the Humbree line at a time or generation to replace both witch parents, or has only one child been allowed, and are they always female? I ask because Craig in part two, was exhibiting his own bit of cold bloodedness. Are there Humbree genes in the other two lines just as there probably is Dixon, Ferguson, and other mystery witch genes in the Humbree line, or else all three families would suffer from the effects of inbreeding. Do all Time agents and staff have a Fae familiar? It was mentioned that other agents see the Fae as tools or resources to use instead of treating them as intelligent beings with their own sense of self. Ro and Fred’s relationship is not a standard operation. Also, if there is a Winter Court, wouldn’t it stand to reason there are other courts doing things in both the history and present of the TIME series universe? If there are, how are they involved, because Fae mythology has always had the various courts at odds with each other. I KNOW this is a fictional series, but thoughts like these fall into the commonsense glue that is part of world building believability. The answers to questions like these were probably in many of those other classes Rowena didn’t attend. In order for a world or a character to not be flat, there should be more to them than a place-holder persona and needs to be logical backstory explained for the sociological make up of a world so readers can form ideas for the motivations behind various characters’ and groups’ actions and understand their goals. Readers get passing mention of a war that is supposed to be common knowledge to everyone (but Rowena because she missed that class) in the past that both informed how the various groups and factions view and interact with each other and is overarching reason behind present and future actions of various characters in this series over and above their personal interactions are the goals of the various cultures shaped by past events in their shared history.

This is book three of the Primetime in Life series and sees time witch Rowena Hembree travelling back into the seventies, in yet another assassination job. She is desperate to get her hands on the rogue time traveller’s leader, who is also her father, to get payback for the death of a mother she had never known. She has her constant companion and familiar, Fred, a dragon fae, but is missing her handler Artie, who is recovering from an injury from her previous case. Instead, her boyfriend Craig, normally just an analyst, has been sent to accompany her on her next job. She is shocked to see her mother appearing in a portal, but leaving before anyone else saw her. She finds the deep pockets of Fred to be extremely useful in holding large objects that become very useful in a latter case. The TIME agency make her wait weeks before they get everything together, for her to make an attack on the rogues. She is sent with both Craig and Artie and still manages to get some shopping and a bit of romance in, whilst Artie frets over the planning. Nothing is quite as expected when they breach the supposed stronghold of the rogues, finding a deal was made with a dangerous being and TIME could have been overrun. Rowena takes on her own time trip at the end of the story, to do something she has been thinking of for a while, but that is totally illegal, so she better not get caught! Definitely one of the best in this series, with Rowena finally comfortable with her magical powers and getting what she wants in more than one area of her life. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

JUST IN TIME is the third book in the Prime Time of Life series. This paranormal time-travel series does need to be read in the order of release.

Instead of the 80s, this time we’re going to the 70s – when I was a child – bell bottoms, peace, and free love. Instead of just Artie assisting during her assignments, TIME has assigned a second handler, her boyfriend Craig. This adds steam and support to her newest assignment.

Rowena has definitely been paying attention in her classes and is doing better and better in controlling her magic.

In addition to the TIME assignments, Ro, her dragon Fae Fred, Artie, and Craig are involved in a little extra-curricular project…. an illegal project.

Great story – best of the series so far. I couldn’t put it down!

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Piecing It Together . . .

Wow, now in the 70’s, Rowena makes some really big and disturbing discoveries about her the rogue assassins she is after. She likewise discovers uncomfortable details about her mom’s death. But there is more here than gloom and doom and the laughs will be interspersed to keep the reader on track. TIME has added another trainer to assist her – her old boyfriend, Craig! Now she will have some decisions and plans to make. What’s next on her calendar?

The story is well-written with proper pacing giving the reader an easy read. The mixture of characters with their varied personalities is a perfect fit, whether grouchy or congenial, as their interaction adds just what we need to enhance that portion of the story line. We have all the ingredients that keep the action-packed story interesting and always moving forward. With the added humor, which is my favorite part, I have no complaints with this one.

This time Rowena "Ro" Butler Hembree is time-traveling back to the 70’s to try and hopefully stopping the threat of the Rogue bloodline once and for all.

Rowena the forty-year-old witch/time traveling assassin is back in book three of the Primetime of Life series. In this book she travels back to the '70s for payback for the death of her mother that she never knew. This time she has the help of Fred her dragon fae, and Craig her boyfriend. This is a fast paced, entertaining paranormal mystery filled with suspense, drama, humor, quirky characters, and a page turning story. After that ending I am so ready for the next book in this series to find out what happens next for Ro. Just In Time is a great addition to the Primetime of Life series and I recommend this book and this series to everyone looking for something fun to read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is Book 3 of the series, and it builds on the story started in Book 1 and continued in Book 2. Rowena is sent back a year with her heartthrob, Craig, on a mission to “disappear” someone. Their mutual attraction increases to a steamy level reaching a hot climax in the shower. Ro finishes her psych evaluation and gets a new, advanced fighting trainer and lots of magic training. All the preparations were somewhat anticlimactic as the final showdown sort of fizzled, thanks to intervention by Fred and the Fae Winter Prince. Now, Rowena is finally a successful assassin witch and has mastered a time-bending operation. She and her new family celebrate the momentous occasion.

This is book 3 of Primetime of Life. This book takes her to the seventies to stop this rogue and maybe stop the murder of her mother. If she does will it stop her from working with the agency of time or will it change it in a way that she is hoping for. A way she wanted her life to actually be or will it be worse? This book keeps you on your toes and has your asking questions and having those ah ha moments.

Rowena heads for the 70s this time and the fun just keeps getting better. Loved the timeline as I graduated in the 70s and have fond memories of the clothes and music. The adventures, action, suspense and fun situations all keep you eyes glued to the pages. Did not want to put it down and did not want it to end. Well done. Can not wait for the next book in the series.

This book has a slightly different tone than the previous two but is equally entertaining. It has a romance and some steam that was perfect for the characters development. Lots of twists and fun turns. Enough of the past is explained that it could be read as a stand alone. However, why cheat yourself out of the fun of the first two books? I am looking forward to reading more adventures with Rowena and the gang.

Ro is sent on a few more assignments while waiting for the big one - taking out the Rogue witches. Ro and Craig's romance progresses, and Artie loosens up. This story has action, romance, and steam, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

Time travel is confusing!

Now I know why the Charmed girls said time travel gives you a headache. So many things could happen or change in the blink of an eye. And let me tell you, it does! This was a fantastic book. I hate waiting for the next one to finally come out!
