Olivia Cadwell, brilliant with numbers but still having trouble figuring out where she fits into the world, is on the run from her hometown, courtesy of her mother's boyfriend—who has decided that Olivia is his next target.
Leo Folley, head of the multi-billion-dollar company his father started, is minding his own business and carrying on as usual… until his publicist gives him a deadline: Find a girlfriend, play nice with the press, and be a better face for the company, or the board is going to make trouble.
When Leo finds Olivia sleeping in her car in the alley outside of his office, he sees the perfect answer to his dilemma: a girl who needs money and a place to stay in exchange for playing his date for the big charity auction. For Olivia, it's the perfect solution: money, a place to stay, and safety from the man she's sure is searching for her. What's not to love?
They both believe they can get through the week without taking anything too seriously.
They're both wrong.
A job is a job, until you're the bosses pretty woman…
I sacrificed sleep and mental clarity to get through this book and all I get for it is a cliffhanger. If I paid for the book, I expect at least one whole story. I can find words on paper everywhere. I don't care if characters practically breathe in my ear, if I feel what they seem to feel. They don't have to work tomorrow on only 3 hours of sleep without the closure, the story, or the satisfaction of taking that ride with a good writer. Sorry, but I just feel it's wrong to try to wring more profit from a story by not finishing the job. You couldn't pay me enough to waste this much time on any unfinished book unless I am its editor. You put this book in my hands, digitally said, "Let me tell you a story, and then you didn't. I feel lied to and cheated. You know I'm not alone in hating stories with no end, no closure, and total failure to reward your reader for the time spent in your fictional world. I gave it one star, but I don't really know why I gave it that much. I see that 20 more words are required but I have finished my story. You have the complete experience. I'm sorry if it doesn't feel like champagne going down. Not recommending cliffhangers except for Kitty's litter box.
So fucking mid I can’t. The characters were boring the source of tension was shit. Like why are hiding this from him??? Pride??? Idek so stupid and creates such a shit and predictable end idk what to say tbh
This book was okay, it wasn’t my favorite that I’ve read. I wasn’t expecting it to end so abruptly with a cliff hanger though! I felt as though the book was kind of drawn out and could have been made a lot shorter if the characters just admitted their feelings instead of dodging them, but then that also brings you to the idea of where would the story be. Also why is Ms. Olivia hiding from Leo like girl please get over yourself, honestly could not stand her if I am being honest.
Decent enough story, except it’s not Book 1, it’s PART 1. NOT A COMPLETE STORY. I hate authors who write like they’re writing a tv series just to sell more books. Author is banned from my reading list.

I found the story interesting enough. Olivia runs away from home at the threat of her Mom’s abusive boyfriend and ends up parking the car she’s sleeping in in the alley next to the headquarters where the billionaire boss happens across her and hires her to be his fake girlfriend.
Except there were so many inconsistencies, redundancies, and holes that I couldn’t help but wish it had gone through another round of edits to tighten the storyline. While the writing was good enough and I made it through the entire book (which ends mid-scene, BTW) I won’t be reading any more in the future.
I feel like someone robbed me of 3,5 hours I could be spending reading something that didn’t push me off a cliff without me knowing. I knew it was a triology and that it wouldn’t end with a HEA, but to end a book like that is just mean. Even tho, I have to say that I enjoed it before I got pushed off the cliff since I didn’t take a break while reading. It’s one of those easy reads you keep the bar low for and know are good enough to keep you entertained, but not stay with you afterwards. If I actually had paied for the book (free from iBooks) and it was the second book I finished today so I can go to sleep with closure over that book the rating would be worse.
I didn’t check here before starting this book and like everyone else, I definitely felt bamboozled by the cliffhanger. I knew it was part of a series but the way they seemed to introduce Leo’s friends had me thinking it was just their stories to continue the series.
Not sure I’ll read the rest, since I got this for free on Apple Books and I don’t feel like I connected with the characters at all.
The millionaire’s pretty woman series #1: Perfect Strangers by Lexi Timms.
This book does remind me of the movie “Pretty Woman”. I loved a classic romance novel like this one. This book is a love story between Olivia Cadwell and Leo Folley. First author I’ve read from her. She was sexy, funny and smart. He was very handsome and rich. Beautifully written, flowing characters and great plot from start to finish. Looking forward to read book no.2.
﹌﹌﹌ 3 stars! Thank goodness, the new short series gets off to a decent start. It's intriguing, but it's not really strong. Given her circumstances, Olivia makes for an extremely interesting individual, while Leo is just another billionaire—sorry, dude, I meant millionaire. In my opinion, why isn't Jack the protagonist of this book? Nice start all around, and because of the suspense, I must read the next one.
This was an excellent book until it wasn't. It just stopped mid crisis. I'm sorry but I don't consider this a book as it had no ending; it just stopped. I don't do cliffhangers.
Boring. The main female character is just so paranoid that it gets old, the romance building is weird, and well, I can see the end miles away so predictable it is... I didn't finish it, it was just not that interesting.
Yeah..........No. Don't bother. There is nothing more infuriating to me than a book ending in a cliffhanger where you have to purchase the next one. Don't waste your time.
Should have read the reviews… what a disappointment: 3h of holding on and hoping that the story gets better, only to end with a cliffhanger. It stops for me here.
Kind of a corny mystery romance but good nonetheless! Had some spicy moments and left off on a cliff hanger - For sure going to read the second in the series
