When Chef Xander Bridges leaves the warmth and safety of his car on a cold, stormy night and approaches a stranger, the last thing he expects to find is a future. He’s wanted to leave his job for awhile, but with no good opportunities on the horizon, he’s been stuck in a long, painful rut. But when he befriends the stranger viciously tearing up his own vineyard, Xander discovers something inexplicable. Maybe he’s not the bitter, sarcastic man that everyone, including himself, has endured for years.

Maybe, with someone like Damon in his life, he could be something more. Something better.

Damon Hess doesn’t just want more, he demands it. With his alcoholic past, there are no gray areas for him. Only black and white. In love or not. Sober or drunk. But the chance meeting with Xander opens Damon’s eyes, and gives him a vision full of something he hasn’t experienced in years: hope.

Hope that he can expect companionship and affection, hope that he doesn’t have to grapple with his family’s questionable Napa legacy any longer, and most importantly, hope that there’s a future worth believing in. But the longer he and Xander spend cultivating that future, the more Damon realizes that the key is so much simpler than he ever imagined--it’s Xander.

Savor Me is an 80,000 word contemporary m/m romance starring an irascible man with a soft, gooey marshmallow center and another who knows he likes men, but has never been with one before. It is third in the Kitchen Gods series, but can be read as a standalone.

And Xander makes it three from three in this utterly delightful series centred around one of my favourite things - food!

Here's where the prickly and quite often arsey sous chef finally gets the one person who will truly love him, faults and all.

We've seen Xander crushing on Miles, but a Xander truly in love is a joy. He's excitable, fearful and so vulnerable that my heart almost broke right alongside his during the book more dramatic moments.

Damon took a bit more time. I initially felt so much love for him after all he'd been through, but he did get a little bit maudlin and self-martyred on occasion.

Thankfully, while pushing the plot angst almost to the last minute, Beth never over-eggs the pudding. The dramatic elements slot perfectly into place to lead the reader's journey through to its ultimate ending.

I loved the Epilogue big time, it made me smile. Now, please Beth, are we finally getting Kian and the Bastard next?!

4.5 stars I love a story with some honest, vulnerable and flawed personalities in it. When Xander drives by the Hess property he sees a man destroying all the vines in the vineyard. The first encounter isn’t what both expected because that man was Damon Hess. His last name is big in the area.
It takes a year to meet again and Damon offers Xander a job he can’t resist... running a restaurant with him as chef.

The attraction is strong and they start something... strong... but complicated. Damon has an alcoholic past and Xander has difficulty with relationships both not convinced of their own stability in relationships. Together they are strong but if only their heads could believe it....!

It was an emotional journey, sometimes even devastating.
Both men were really good put down in this story, their characters kind, stubborn and sweet.
The food involved in this series is just masterly done. All the ingredients, the menus, the tryouts Xander made, the fresh herbs... all the love for food... It kept me in my chair for hours and hours until I had finished this story. All the friends, from the first two of this series, involved was just great. A captivating, strong written story with the best environments you can imagine! All convincing and realistic put together.
This is the third book in this series... I enjoyed this one immensely and want to recommend it!

Kindly received an arc from the author

For me, Beth Bolden’s Kitchen Gods series has gotten better with each book and I absolutely loved Savor Me. I loved that both the main characters were fighting some demons in their past, but their chance meeting had them both feeling something even if they couldn’t yet define it. I loved that for the most part there wasn’t a lot of drama, they had some issues and moments where their pasts intruded into their happiness but they cared enough about one another to fix it, and I loved that they built something together that made them both happy. Savor Me was simply delicious!

When Xander Bridges is driving home from a very long day at the restaurant where he works as a sous chef and sees someone ripping out ancient vines at one of the first Napa Valley vineyards he knows he must put a stop to it, what he doesn’t expect is to fine Damon Hess the owner of the land to be the person ripping out hundred year old vines. He also doesn’t expect the jolt of awareness he felt from him or the need to reach out to him.

Ms. Bolden did a great job crafting this story and it took place over a decent amount of time. Xander was at time brusque and not afraid to speak his mind and I think that was something that Damon appreciated even though at times it was hard to accept what he was saying. They kind of circled each other for awhile Xander not really knowing if Damon was interested in men and Damon scared he wasn’t good enough to share his life with anyone. I appreciated that they took some time to get to know one another as best they could even though they both were holding back. It was easy to see the chemistry between them and once they acted on it, it was pretty spectacular. While there were many secondary characters and a couple of other storylines going on, I felt like the relationship between Xander and Damon was given the attention it deserved.

From start to finish Ms. Bolden kept me captivated with her realistic characters, her rich plot, and smart dialog making Savor Me an excellent romance.

Savor Me is definitely my favorite of this series so far. Xander was a bit of a prickly character in the other books, so being able to see him lose that defensive shell and soften up with Damon felt so good! Plus there’s the great writing and strong storyline, a bit of angst from their respective pasts (Damon more so than Xander), and my lord are the two of these guys hot together…and also very sweet.

The Xander we dealt with in the first two books was sometimes an ass, but a blatantly honest one. He’s one of those characters where you can’t wait for their story to see exactly how the author plans to turn their annoying attitude around, and here that turnaround can be attributed solely to Damon Hess. Damon is exactly what Xander needs, though Damon’s past is always hovering around the edges—and he’s a bit too inclined to listen to that voice in his head telling him Xander can do better. Just so you know, that is a big pet peeve of mine in romance stories, and how that plays into the last bit of the book irked me to no end.

Everything for Xander and Damon moves along pretty smoothly for the first half to two-thirds of the story; after that, Damon’s uncertainty starts creeping in so that’s when the angsty tension pops up as well. What makes the difference for both of them is their individual support systems, and their friends who encourage them and a there for them—and not just as a sounding board. We get to see Miles and Wyatt again as part of that support, and Kian is right there to keep us guessing about what’s to come in his story.

Despite the bit of aggravation Damon caused me in the last third of the book, Savor Me was still a 4.5-star read for me simply because of the strength of Xander and Damon’s relationship the rest of the story, and again at the end. A bit of extra smiles too for Xander’s response to Damon during the epilogue…you’ll understand once you read it. This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

4.5 stars. I’ve read a few books by this author and I think this was one of my favourites. It’s the first one I’ve read in the series but I feel it can be read as a standalone, didn’t feel lost at all while reading.

I loved both of these characters and their own stories. Xander deserved a great restaurant and I loved seeing them set it up and get open! I felt so much for Damon and his past. I hated what happened near the end but totally understood (it made sense for the character and story) and was glad they could work it out.

They had a super cute HEA and I loved the epilogue! If you enjoy this author I would definitely recommend!

I just want to say first, this story deals with alcoholism. And some of the effects of it. If it triggers you in any way, be careful. This is a really good book, but it pulls no punches. Alcoholism is a very real disease that affects a lot of people. I like that the author didn't back down with this book. It shows that ups, downs and in betweens. And it's not always a pretty picture. This was such a good book and I was glad to see this kind of subject matter.
For Damon, life every day was a struggle. A struggle to stay sober, a struggle to fight the guilt and depression, and a struggle to fight the bad feelings his family, especially his father has left him with. For Damon, it was time to make a change. Starting with ripping out the vines that have been in his family for years as a supplier for the wine they produce. Damon wants no part of any of it anymore. As he is pulling out vines in the middle of a rage one dark and stormy night, he is 'greeted’ by outrage from a passerby. Xander can't believe someone is pulling out those vines, years of history in this land. Damon somewhat explains, not giving away all of his secrets, and Xander gives him an idea on how to finally use his inheritance. But it takes time and patience.
A year later, Damon comes back to Xander with a proposal. A partnership in a restaurant Damon wants to open. Xander jumps at the chance to see his dreams come true. But with the attraction between them, Xander isn't sure it won't turn into a disaster. The problem, though, isn't the attraction. They act on an have a relationship going. The problem is the only rule Damon has for this restaurant. Damon has allowed Xander free rein with everything this restaurant entails. He wants Xander to know he's serious about him being Damon's partner in this endeavor. But he will not budge on this rule. And this rule is enough to cause a rift between them, and cause Damon to rethink his sobriety. Both are wondering if it's worth the risk.
I love the storyline in this book. Alcoholism is subject you don't see a lot of. Or at least I haven't. Maybe I missing it. I love Damon. I love his bravery, his strength and everything else. Trying to deal with guilt, regrets, depression as well as staying sober is not an easy task. It's also hard when you are interested in someone and you know you are going to have to explain why it is you don't and can't drink. That is just excruciating. Especially with no support system. When Damon met Xander that crazy rainy night, he knew he had been struck with attraction. But all the doubts and fears were surfacing. Plus it would be his first time with a man. He knew he was bisexual but never got to explore it before get married to a woman. Now he's ready to explore and more. But he doesn't know if Xander can handle his baggage or if he's worthy enough for Xander.
Xander was struck too. But he's hesitant because he seems to constantly fall for the wrong guy. And his past was horrible, but the ‘relationship’ he did have was awful. He was hurt bad by it. So his trust levels were very low. But the appeal of being executive chef was too much. And being a partner. If they couldn't be 'together’, maybe they could still work together. It was the dream of a lifetime. But his doubts and fears and his blunt mouth, caused some trouble and he didn't know if they could get past it. Hopefully. He hoped. He wanted the restaurant, yes. But he really wanted it to work with Damon.
Both of these guys have issues and baggage. It comes in any relationship. Everyone has some of some sort. But we have to deal with it or share the load to have some kind of successful relationship. Sometimes we need a kick in the pants to do so. Like these guys. But if it's what you really want in life, it's worth the work and effort. I really enjoyed this book. I hope you guys do too.

I was lucky enough to receive this book from the author for review, and I'm SO glad I did because I've been looking forward to Xander's story since the very first Kitchen Gods book. And I LOVE it. It may be my favorite of the three books in this series. It was a lot sweeter than I expected it to be, because despite being the grumpiest of the roommates, Xander actually has a soft, sweet, chewy center.

So Damon and Xander meet because Xander spots Damon tearing up some vineyard vines on Damon's property. Damon is heir to a wine legacy, but he's a recovering alcoholic who doesn't want that legacy to define him. So Xander suggests Damon do something else with the land Damon's beloved grandfather left him. And then, after they both feel the beginnings of a connection with each other, Xander walks away. They don't see each other for another year, but think of each other every day. And it's SO romantic. Damon and Xander are perfect for each other, and their journey is one that you won't want to miss. Also the food. All the food talk makes me hungry, and anyone who knows me knows I love the food talk. But it never overwhelms the story, which is has a nice and steady pace throughout.

Highly recommend!

*Received A Copy To Review From The Author*

I have to admit, I don't know if it was my mood or the story, but this wasn't my favorite of the series. I struggled with one of the main characters a lot, and shocker it wasn't Xander. I really found Damon extremely irksome. He was mired in self-pity and doubt. I normally have some compassion for that, especially given his struggles with alcohol and his daddy issues but for some reason, I just didn't have that much sympathy. And the little I was trying to work up for him evaporated when he pulled his stunt and abandoned Xander when he needed him most. Xander didn't even do anything to warrant it, the conversation they had...which wasn't a fight, seemed fine to me. I didn't catch anything disrespectful or even bad. So when Xander started apologizing and acting like he did something wrong I was baffled. I also don't like how it's resolved...I wish Xander had made Damon earn his trust back. There are some positives. I liked how open they were before that happens, they were pretty honest and upfront with their issues and boundaries. I do think they work pretty well with each other in general. Just...I don't know. I wish I liked it more.

Wow! This is my favorite book in this series so far and I love everything about it. It is well-written, emotional, has amazing characters and an intriguing storyline. I could not put it down and I love how many emotions I experienced while reading it. There are some tough issues that Damon and Xander are dealing with from their pasts and the author does an excellent job of portraying them. Damon is a recovering alcoholic who doesn't have any support from his family and he is hesitant to start a relationship. Xander is a talented chef working in a world-renowned restaurant where he is unable to show his creativity. As they start working together they also try to have a more personal relationship and neither of them is prepared for how quickly and deeply they fall for each other. Xander has to trust that Damon won't break his heart and Damon has to learn how to share his emotional baggage with Xander. They have a lot to learn about each other and how to communicate effectively. The secondary characters are interesting and it is great to catch up with the couples from the previous books. I love the ending and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

AMBITION*ATTITUDE*SURRENDER

This is the Third Book in this Fascinating Series and it is just as HOT and beautiful as the first. Damon is a mountain of sex appeal and sadness. The recovering alcoholic son of the Napa Valley number one winery, he has a box truck of baggage. Xander is sensual, handsome and keeps people away with his blunt honesty and bad attitude. He is also an over qualified, under promoted top chef. When these two meet in a blinding rain storm, with Damon in a fit of blind rage of self recriminations and self doubt. It alters the course of both their lives. This is a beautiful story of full blown ambitions, bad attitudes and complete surrender. I fell completely in love with both these characters and tripped right along with them. It was also great to see the friends from the previous stories appear to lend a hand. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS DELICIOUS SERIES!!!!!

I have to say that this series is one that just keeps getting better with each book! Xander was a character I wasn’t very fond of previously. He was a snarky jerk most of the time, and I wasn’t a fan. This book has converted me. Is he still a bit selfish and over the top? Yes, but now we start to see why he is the way he is and we see Damon break right though his defenses. My heart went out to Damon, and I loved him as a character. He came with a ton of baggage, but he really needed someone like Xander to see him for who he was and accept him 100%. They were fantastic characters, and I loved revisiting the other characters from the previous books. I really can’t wait to read Kian’s story.

5 Stars!

Savor Me is the third book in the Kitchen Gods series and while it could be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the previous books first. They're great stories and there are recurring characters in all the books.

Xander is hardworking and great at what he does, but he has little chance of advancement at his current job as Bastian Aquino's sous chef at Terroir. When Damon Hess offers him the position of executive chef and partner at a new restaurant he's planning on opening, Xander sees the opportunity of a lifetime. The two of them hit it off and start a relationship, but Damon's demons might prove too difficult to conquer.

First of all, I will admit that I was kind of wary before starting Savor Me. Not only was Xander my least favorite of the guys in the previous books, but I just read a book that had left me hungover. And guess what? It turns out you can get a book hangover on top of the previous one. *sighs* LOL

Xander had layers I hadn't anticipated and I absolutely loved seeing him open up and show us what was inside him. He was determined and even if he'd never been in a relationship, he embraced the one he had with Damon wholeheartedly. He made mistakes, of course, but he was willing to go well and above and make it right. Which brings me to Damon. While I liked him a lot, he was very white and black in the way he saw himself. It was like if there was a drop of alcohol on the premises, it'll all go to hell, and he refused to see how strong he was just by staying sober for however long he managed. I was frustrated and exasperated and I wanted to make him see how perfect Xander was for him, but of course, things don't work quite like that. Still, I can say I was very satisfied with how Ms. Bolden dealt with this issue, even if she made me cry.

Xander and Damon were really sweet together. I loved that they took their time to get to know each other before taking the next step and how patient Xander was with Damon (at first ;) ), the progression of their relationship was very natural and organic and of course, it doesn't hurt that they were very hot together.

I loved that Miles and Wyatt rallied to help Xander when he needed them. And of course, I can't wait to read Kian and Bastian's book, because those little tidbits we've seen in this book and the previous ones, have just whet my appetite for more.

All in all, Savor Me is definitely my favorite of the series, so far. It's well-written and the author made me fall for Xander and Damon. I was totally invested in their story and I was very happy with that ending. Highly recommendable!

ETA: Re: Audiobook:

I had a bit of trouble getting into the narration at first, mostly because Xander came off as very aggressive, which, well, he was. It was just a tad jarring to listen to it. Once I got used to it, it was a smoother, enjoyable experience. Wyatt Baker did a great job and his Damon's voice is melt-worthy!

Overall, I really loved this book and if you haven't listened to the previous ones, please do yourself a favor and do so before the last one comes out. It's such a fantastic series that I can't recommend enough.

Another yummy read in the Kitchen Gods series... The intense interaction between characters and strong dialogue makes this book stellar. It's hot and steamy in the bedroom, the living room and the kitchen.

Xander was a hard character to like in the previous books in the series, but this book did an excellent job of delving beneath his shell and showing how much he actually cared and the baggage he carried. (I sincerely hope a happier Xander is a bit less prickly to people other than Damon moving forward, though! An *actual* apology to Nate would have been nice.) I thought this was an excellent portrayal of an inciting incident that was so profound for the two characters that it felt plausible to the reader that it would have an ongoing impact months later.

I was intrigued by how Damon and Xander managed to genuinely talk about a lot and yet how there were still such huge, important gaps in communication.

I loved how the friends rallied to really help Xander out and support him in his time of need. (Honestly, it sometimes felt like none of them really liked one another that much, lol. But this was genuinely supportive and not just pushing what they thought was correct.)

Damon’s actions were tough to take, but while part of me couldn’t believe it, the rest of me really could see how Xander’s comments triggered his worst fears (fair or not) and he did the one thing he thought could fix the situation by removing himself from the equation (he was just totally wrong). I was really glad that he called his sponsor and actually got therapy. I have said before in books that I wished the MCs would get therapy, and I loved that this actually happened here, a logical way to help work through serious personal issues.

It really felt like Damon and Xander brought out the best in one another, even if there were hiccoughs along the way. I loved how Xander was able to embrace his love for rustic Italian and Damon could forge his own path separate from his father (even if it was still connected because you can’t just erase those ties completely). Xander making marshmallows (and then needing to call Miles for help), Rachel not being vilified, Xander just rushing into a weird situation in the pouring rain…. There are a lot of great moments in here.

As a silly quibble, I spent the entire book wondering where all the customers parked at the Barrel House. I didn’t get the impression that it had ever been designed even in its old life to have that many workers attend, so wouldn’t there need to be a big parking lot? That takes land in prime vineyard country, and it just never gets mentioned. Maybe I lack imagination in what the Hess grounds look like, lol.

I really enjoyed the bonus story with the mud bath, it made me laugh a lot.

“Sometimes in life we need to sit with things for a minute, maybe on the fringe of things, not only to savor the wealth of the moment, but take a moment to figure out how to respectfully engage it.” ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough, The Eighth Page: A Christmas Journey

Xander, of ‘Savor Me’ by Beth Bolden, doesn’t know what to think when he sees a man pulling up priceless grapevines in the middle of a torrential rainstorm. Xander can’t help but stop to figure out what is happening. He doesn’t expect the memory of their encounter to haunt him so much. Neither did Xander expect the man, whose name is Damon, to come back a year later with a proposition he can’t refuse.

Xander is tired of Chef Aquino’s temper tantrums and lack of appreciation for all of his hard work and long hours. He is ready to move on but not sure where he would go. Xander’s mind keeps going back to that rainy night a year ago when he and Damon met. Many times he wanted to go back but has resisted the temptation. His attraction to Damon is too strong. Xander is afraid to give in to his feelings. Because of a disastrous past relationship, Xander swore he would never become involved with anyone again.

Damon has never forgotten Xander. He has wanted to contact him but needed to get his act together first. Over the past year, Damon has remained sober and taken Xander’s advice about turning the grapevines into something productive and nurturing rather than something Damon hates. He has replaced the grapevines with a vegetable garden and is at peace. Now he is ready to approach Xander, who will, hopefully, join him in fulfilling his dream of running a garden-to-table restaurant as Damon’s head chef. Armed with hope and determination, Damon makes a reservation at Terroir, where Xander works. When Damon requests Xander’s presence at his table, reluctantly, his server delivers the message, fearing it will anger his boss.

The request stuns Xander, but he is curious about who wants to see him and why. When he discovers it is Damon, it surprises and pleases Xander to see him again. It delights Xander to see Damon looking so good. Xander listens while Damon explains his plan. He doesn’t know quite what to think. It amazes Xander that Damon would want him as head chef, but the idea of running a kitchen the way he wants is both overwhelming and appealing. Xander tells him he will think about it. It only takes one more tantrum by his boss for Xander to decide to accept Damon’s offer.

Damon and Xander have many challenges to overcome to fulfill their dreams professionally and emotionally, but in the end, love wins. Thanks, Beth, I look forward to the next book.

Third book in this series and the good ingredients are all there - a great cook needy to take over a kitchen of his own, the alcoholic owner of a pricey vineyard needy of a new start away from the family legacy, a subject matter neither of the MC’s wanted to deal with that just blew their heart at the wrong time, lots of great cooking (I might have gained a few pounds just reading about all the carb) and friends you can count on.

I received an arc of this book in exchange of my honest review. I was a little bit dubious about the start of Damon and Xander acquaintance, mostly because without any prior character description, Xander’s behaviour seemed completely crazy and extremely nosy. Then the time leap of over a year just at the beginning of the book confused me, because it hides a lot of background information that never really are brought upfront in the rest of the story. But once the two men start their professional project together, then the story line develops steadily, building up the tension up to the moment when the other shoe does indeed drop. (this was a constant concern of one of the two MCs).

This story deals with alcoholism, and its impact not only on the person’s state of mind, but also on how society perceives the daily use of alcohol as a socially accepted custom without questioning the potential risks linked to a bad use of alcohol. A correct alcohol consumption should be taught, not through prohibition but like when you teach your kids to drive - it’s risky but if you know how to handle it, it has a lot of positive aspects.

But the story does not focus on Damon’s recovery; he is and stays sober throughout the book (ups, is this a spoiler?) it is a romance between two men ready for a new chapter in their life, ready to make a change and accept new challenges both professionally and emotionally. Miles and Wyatt of the two previous books of this series are part of the storyline as are Kian and Nate - will the author write also about the love stories of these two? Sure is, I wanted to take the next plane and fly to Napa valley for a dinner at the Barrel House!

Savor Me is the third book in the Kitchen Gods series, but it works well as a standalone. It’s nice to have read the first two books so you have a better understanding of the supporting characters, but it’s okay if you haven’t.

One night, two angry men meet by chance and this meetings strikes them to the core. A year later with no contact, and they still can’t get the each other out of their heads. Until Damon Hess walks into Terrior with a proposal that will change Xander’s life in the most unexpected way. Damon is a recovering alcoholic and Xander is a chef with a chip on his shoulder. Both men have their demons and triggers, but together they need to work through their problems not just for the new restaurant they are building, but also for the love that’s blooming between them.

I thought the characterization was very well done and I hurt for Xander and Damon when they struggled to come to terms with some difficult issues. Plus, the banter between Xander and Damon was great and their chemistry was sizzling – I just loved how they interacted and fit with each other. Although there was angst in this story, Beth Bolden didn’t have us linger on it for too long, and there were many happy and romantic moments throughout the story. I really enjoyed the descriptions of food and the connection Xander had to all of the recipes and meals that he created.

Wyatt Baker narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job. His voice for Damon and Xander was PERFECT and I loved how much energy and acting he put into the performance. I found the entire production of this audiobook well done with no issues that would jar me out of the story. Instead, I was able to sit back and relax and lose myself in the story.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you are obsessed with cooking shows and romance like I am.

This third book in the Kitchen Gods series is a good addition. It’s sweet, sometimes a bit fluffy, then sour and somewhat bitter. Just like the food I like, it’s a bit of everything, which makes it interesting and enticing. This time it’s Xander’s turn, and he definitely needed his own HEA.
Snarky Xander instantly makes a lasting impression on Damon when he comes storming in when Damon is destroying his heritage. But it takes another year before they meet up again. And it is just as sparkling as the first time. Damon and Xander are likable characters, not perfect but very much trying to be the best they can. It comes and goes with self-doubt and feeling unworthy, but also with honesty and understanding.
The story starts at a rather fast speed before slowing down a bit to get a good feeling of the men and what they are feeling. Slowly but steadily we see Damon and Xander growing together. The chemistry is undeniable, and the connection tangible. The best was saved for last. I was so rooting for them, but at some point, I had a hard time believing they would find their HEA. I admired how they solved their problems by compromising and without reneging on their beliefs. I can honestly say I had tears in my eyes reading the last chapters of the book. But there is also room for a lot of laughter, and I loved seeing Xander’s friends, Wyatt, Miles, and Kian, making their appearance.
The food had my mouth watering, and I know from experience you don’t need wine with your dinner.
This is the third installment in the Kitchen Gods series and can be read as a standalone. As there are recurring characters, I recommend reading the books in order.

Warning: may cause hunger thanks to all the amazing food Xander cooks. He's the current sous chef at the biggest restaurant in Napa, working for a man nicknamed "The Bastard," and wishing for something better. One night he's driving home in a storm when he sees someone pulling vines from the ground of one of the biggest vineyards in Napa. He gets out to stop the man, but it turns out it's Damon Hess, heir to the Hess vineyard he's destroying. Damon is sober and inherited a large plot of the vineyard from his grandfather, a vineyard he has no interest in using to make wine.

The meet cute with Xander and Damon leads to conversation about turning the plot of land into a garden for farm-to-table dining. One year later, Damon tracks down Xander to be his head chef at the restaurant he plans on running on the Hess land. The two start a partnership, but it's not long before their mutual attraction turns into way more than a business relationship. Damon is still dealing with a lot, especially a father that he keeps at arm's length, so the relationship ends up with some obstacles.

🔥: Plenty of spice here! Damon has never been with a man, but his enthusiasm for Xander is intense. They have hot, fairly graphic scenes that are full of intensity and passion.
🤣: We get plenty of moments of comic relief, especially when Xander's friends are involved.
😭: These two deal with some heartache, so your eyes may water a bit. They sure don't make things easy!

This was such a good read and now I desperately need some rustic Italian food thanks to everything Xander cooked up in this one. So many levels of yum!

Oh my Xander! He is the snarky, somewhat abrupt roommate we met in books 1 and 2, and to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect from his book... but I freaking loved him. So much, in fact, that he might be my new favorite character in this series. He and Damon meet in one amusing moment where Xander tries to save some vines. And yeah, you should definitely read to see what that means. I like that their time did not come for another year, too, as it feels more true to Damon's situation especially that he needed more time before he could be ready for more of, well, anything. These two have a connection that is both deeper and hotter than they expected (thank goodness). It was so good to see Xander finally get his chance out of Terroir, and he and Damon end up starting something really great together. And I loved it all: their relationship, their partnership, the help they get from their friends... all. of. it. I am not sure how to feel about the Kian and Bastian yet - that book will be insane, I am sure - but I can say for sure that this book has become my favorite in this series so far.

Xander Bridges is a chef at a well known restaurant, stuck in a rut. He works for a tyrant. He gets crushes on the wrong men. He needs to step out of the safety his in and live a little.
And that is what he does one stormy night when he sees a strange man massaging a vineyard. That strange man turns out to be the owner of the Vineyard, Damen Hess... part of a family important to the Wine Business.

Damen is a recovering alcoholic who with Xander's help is about to turn that historic vineyard into something else completely. And maybe they will also discover something much more wonderful in each other's arms.

Xander and Damen are great characters. They both have devil's of their past taunting them that plays on their fears and insecurities. But they both try to overcome those obsticles that try to bring them down. The chemistry between them is strong. A wonderful mix of humor, drama, sweet moments and sexy scenes, Savor Me leaves the reader satisfied.

SAVOR ME is the third book in the Kitchen Gods series by Beth Bolden. I can not wait for next installment.

I received this book as an advanced reader's copy and voluntarily am leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Xander finds Damon on a dark rainy night. He stops to see why a man is ripping out grape vines from a field of one of the foremost vintners in Napa valley. What he finds is a damaged man, terrified of going back and afraid to move forward. Neither forget that night in the rain.

A year later Xander is still a sous-chef at a premier restaurant. He knows that he will never progress any further thanks to a prima donna chef who won’t recognize any one else’s talents.
When Damon proposes that he partner with him in a new restaurant, Xander jumps at the opportunity. They grow very close and the partnership could develop into so much more, if Damon will only take a chance.

I have read the other books in this series and liked them, they don’t necessarily need to be read to enjoy this book, but characters from the other books do make appearances. I think this story is the best so far though. These men brought out the best in each other, mostly. Xander did have to work for his happy ending. 4.75 stars rounded up to 5.

4 / 5 Stars

This is a a sweet and hopeful read with bits of angsty moments, that I liked it.

I'm a sucker for characters like Xander and Damon; scarred deep inside, complicated, and struggling characters that have to fight their way to reach the surface... or drown. They have important issues but they don't give up even if things don't look good. In addition, they also fight with their attraction for each other, theirs is not the best relationship and both characters have strong personalities.

I'm not a food lover but it's obvious the author enjoys what she writes and take good care of it, it was interesting to see Xander in his element. He does what he loves and that's what matter the most.

Overall, this is a nice and enjoyable series and if you like recipes and food, check it out.

I liked the first book, I loved the second and I adore the third!
What a series! It was a pleasure to read about Xander, a character that I didn’t overly like in the previous 2 books but came to love in this. He has been hurt before, tends to fall for the wrong people and just isn’t convinced that love is for him. On finding Damon one dark and wet night this all begins to change. It takes a while for them to reconnect but when they do fireworks fly and the 2 main characters captured my heart! They both have demons from their past that they have to work through but they get there together. It was great having Miles and Wyatt back for a while too.
This series is amazing and highly recommended!
I was given the opportunity to read and review this book and I happily leave my honest opinion.
