Callie tries to look at the positive side of life—despite her dire circumstances. She's the underdog, stepped on by her boss, her landlord, and her own family. When a new customer shows interest in her at work, it's impossible to resist his charm. Their budding romance becomes her only joy in life, but when she finds out he's keeping dark secrets, Callie wonders if she really knows him at all.
Brick knows he screwed up by hiding the truth from Callie. It just felt so damn good to be looked at with affection rather than fear, and he soon became addicted to the rush. Once he starts falling hard for her, he can't bring himself to tell her he's the VP of the Straight to Hell MC. Brick can't risk losing her. But how long can he go on living a lie?
With a rival club rebuilding and a rat in their midst, Brick wonders if it's even safe bringing Callie into his world at all.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
This was a meh read. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it. What you see is what you get. There wasn’t much depth to it.
I solely picked this up because of the title only to be let down. We barely got any MC in this book. Even though that’s what the secret was- Brick in the MC 😞
I tried not to skim, but nothing was really doing it for me- even the sex scenes. Kinda felt how Callie felt:
This was ok. I loved the heroine. She was the perfect sweet to balance the hero’s gruffness. I loved that she was an underdog and the hero’s protective instincts came rushing out for her. I even loved how he got revenge for her! Petty and vicious but it warmed my twisted heart!
Also LOVED, LOVED, LOOOOOVED that she was innocent and hadn’t spread her legs for other men to crawl between them and rut her. She belonged only to the hero, so that brought the swoon.
The writing flow was smooth and the story had heat and heart. I think it was the UNNECESSARY and gross descriptions of the hero’s past that brought down the swoon level for me. Yeah I get the hero is in a degraded and disgusting world, where club whores are there to be used as cum dumps. I don’t need the ugly details. Sorry, not sorry, but I’m not reading a romance novel to have my skin crawl in revulsion.
Between that and the ending, I felt kind of let down. There wasn’t really an epilogue to speak of—sorry, but one week out isn’t an epilogue, even if they’re getting married. And there were no babies. So while the book wasn’t terrible, there were some things that could’ve been left out and other things that could’ve been added to make it better.
Safe. Hero’s past is explicitly mentioned and he was a manwhore right before meeting heroine. Only with h after meeting her. Heroine virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others. No cheating, no sharing. No abuse. HEA but no real epilogue
Brick is a member of an MC club but he doesn't tell Callie that when he starts seeing her. This was a quick and fast paced read that totally kept me turning pages. There's danger from another MC group who is bad news and it looks like there is a rat in Brick's club so everyone is on alert! Who's the rat? What will Callie do when she finds out about who Brick really is? Loved it and am looking forward to the next book!
This author doesn’t do very complex stories. So the title for this book is deceiving. I thought the secret was going to be more serious then being a chicken farmer. I died laughing on that!
I did read this book first and I hate reading books out of order but I actually liked this book. It was a getting to know you, falling in love book kind of story. While the characters had unsavory pasts the author only ever revealed one of their childhood traumas for each MC, so it was a lite back story for them. Not deep at all.
I was annoyed because it ended on a sort of cliffhanger for the subplot involving an enemy biker club. There’s no book three and I’m not sure there will be but now I’m stuck wondering how this plays out. I hate when this author drags her sub plots across multiple books. It’s entrapment I tell you. I am now held hostage to the end of the story.
I hadn’t read the first book yet because while I had started it a while ago, not realizing when I started this book they were connected, I remember the prez character was unlikable and I decided to come back to that book later. I still haven’t decided to read that book yet. I’ll get to it when I get to it I guess.
Either way, I did like this story. I liked Brick even though I thought he was a character from another book by this author. I guess this author likes bricks to go and name a few of her characters with the same name in more than one series. Smh. So, if you want an easy read with no on page drama then you can try this book. Enjoy.
I think I’m a little in love with the guys from this MC. Don’t get me wrong, they have their illegal activities, their players, and their deep wells, but they’ve also got their guys with hearts of gold and once they find their special someone they are all in. Just look at the VP. He went from chicken farmer to hero to be the man his women needed. I love the slow burn of their relationship, and the way she is so strong in the face of adversity. These two make the best couple and I can’t wait to see which member finds what and who they need next.
Callie tries to be happy and positive despite her constant bad luck. When she meets Brick, she thinks she’s won the jackpot with him. But he’s keeping secrets and shielding her from the truth. He knows he messed up but he only wanted her to look at him with trust, not fear.
Sweet MC romance. Not super memorable in my opinion. Didn’t care for Brick at times.
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review with my honest opinion.*
Nice and sweet - no real drama at all that make me feel the conflict the couple has to solve to find there common future. Easy going, easy read - so okay! It could have taken less words for this ending and HEA for Brick and his girl and the HFN for the overall MC story.
Are we ready for the next chapter in The Straight to Hell MC biker club? I love reading about the men in this MC! This series keeps getting better and better! The duo Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino make a great team in writing a book that has drama, suspense and throw in a little bit of love and you get an EPIC love story!
Brick is the VP of the Straight to Hell MC biker club who is tough and take care of club business when it is needed. He is sexy and take no prisoners! He meets Callie who is a cashier at a hardware store, and it leaves him wanting to know more about this woman. Brick and Callie go out on a couple of dates, until they become inseparable. Brick falls hard for Callie and it is wrap! Brick is one tough, jealous, possessive man who we would want in a book boyfriend.
Callie is a twenty-six year old who never had a boyfriend and knows not a lot about the dating scene. She is a loner at best, and feels insecure about her looks. This makes Callie question her relationship with Brick! Is he in it for me or something else? You will just have to read it to find out!
Brick is a member the Straight to Hell MC and things were changing in his club. They are looking for a mole and his Prez got a women and has a baby. On a errand for his prez’s women he meets Callie. At first she doesn’t know who he is and he enjoyes that. As it seems she isn’t afraid of him like half the town is. So he decides to not tell her he is in a MC. And even though he doesn’t like lying he enjoyes getting to know her as separate from the club.
Callie hasn’t had an easy life, with a family of criminals and a mother who threw her out of her own house. Now she is just trying to live her life separate form them and be happy. Until she meets Brick. She cant understand why someone as hot and gorgeous as him would want to be with her. Soon she cant help but fall for the ‘chicken farmer’… But how will she react when she finds out exactly who Brick is and that he is a member of a MC??
Loved the drama and the definitely the suspense. With a mole in the club things are not going well for them. But I loved that in that time Brick found his happily ever after with Callie. Definitely a bad boy with a soft heart… But only for his women 😊 ♥
Brick is a badass VP for a biker gang who happened to stumble across an unsuspecting gorgeous curvy lady. Brick decides to make a move because it's been so long since a woman treated him like a decent guy. Little did he know that once he made a move on this innocent girl he wouldn't be turning back - she would become his.
Callie had a hard life, one she wished wasn't real, but it was. Her mother was an addict and her family was from the wrong side of the tracks - except her beloved Grandmother. Callie tried her best to stay on the right side of the law despite her family and she was successful. Until she met and fell for the devilishly handsome, tattooed...... chicken farmer?
This was a nice easy read and for all the fans of over the top alpha/bad boys, give this one a try.
Callie has been the underdog since she was born. Her family is addicts and thieves. Her grandmother raised her and when she died, she was heartbroken and homeless. Callie’s mother threw her out of the trailer she was raised in. She lives in a crappy apartment and works at a worse job. Callie meets Brick when he comes in to get supplies for a chicken coop. She thinks Brick is a chicken farmer but he is the vice president of a motorcycle club. Brick knows that Callie is different and when she is hurt, he moves her in to keep her safe. Can Brick protect her and find the rat in the clubhouse?
I loved this story until the end. To me it seems like a cliffhanger at the end. Sex. Action. Bikers.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
Biker’s Dirty Little Secret opposites attract story about Callie and Brick. They meet at Callie’s job and Brick is instantly attracted. Callie is young, insecure, living on her own and hiding from past. Brick is the VP of the Straight to Hell MC and has never been in a serious relationship. Callie’s lack of confidence and Brick’s surprise at wanting a relationship made an unlikely couple. Each with their own secrets. I thought there would be more heat, but nonetheless I enjoyed the story. If you are looking for a quick read, involving a MC this is for you.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Evernight Publishing in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.
Brick didn’t believe in love and forever. When he was sent out on an errand for Ally, he found his shining star. Callie has had a hard life. When her grandmother died, she lost everything. She never expected to have a smoking hot guy have an interest in her. Brick kept his true identity from her. Was he lying? I don’t think so. Just didn’t correct her on certain things. He did keep it from Lord and that is a no no. When the Skull Nation starts rebuilding, Brick isn’t about to let Callie be in the crossfire. I have to say I love that we have another strong woman in the club. Callie is a fighter and holds her own. Now we need to find out what happens next. We were left with a bit of a cliffhanger.
I enjoyed reading the descriptions of Bricks physical appearance. The authors really laid it on thick. Mmmm mmmm mmmm. I found the most hilarious element of the story to be Brick having to pretend to be a chicken farmer. Giggity Giggty. Callie is the complete opposite of a chicken head - km so sorry I could not resist using that phrase from my youth. She’s the good girl from the rotten family, a diamond in the rough. Brick falls hard. He is supremely nice to his girl. Very protective. After just finishing Smokey, by Sam Crescent, this book SEEMS downright sweet in comparison. It’s not, just seems that way.
After the high drama and brutal first book in the series it was a pleasant surprise to discover Brick’s story was less intense and that Brick himself is actually charming and amusing. The last thing I ever expected is the club VP to be hiding his cut! Callie was also a treat and the two of them are the biggest asset in this book. It picks up just a few months after the last book ended and while it can be a standalone there are some things that you will miss if you haven’t read the Biker’s Plaything first. My biggest complaint is the book is way too short and I felt parts were rushed but otherwise this is a fun book.
This is book 2 of the Straight To Hell Mc i didnt get book one so im starting with book 2. It got right in there with Brick meeting Callie at her work and him finding how attracted he is to her. But hes got too put the MC first.... right? Theres a rat in the mix... but he cannot resist this beauty she makes him feel different... he wants her too see him differently... but will she?
A good read took me a bit to get in to it but i did love Brick a lot i found his charming yet hot yet oooo a bad boy that has a heart.
What is wrong with Sam Crescent and Curvy woman? I know most all her books involved woman with curved or fat, or ugly... but I hope some of her book is much more realistic. The girl in this story is poor, hardly get something to eat, how come she was described as a fat lady?? can she include a slender woman sometimes as main character? is she hate so much a thin/slim woman, until she made someone who rarely getting eat everyday still fat? well overall, the book is okay, but not so much adventured but quite romantic in the end.
I never thought yjsy o would enjoy this genre of books? But a friend of mine who l pes me too well kept pestering me try this type of book, even going so far as to gifting methe book to me on my kindle lloyylr The book that got her hooked on l Little stories I easoefoayelu hol which eventually led to this book, wjovjsfe me feel Happy and lint hearted from the first page to the fast’
Callie and Brick are drawn to each other the moment they met. Brick hides the fact that he is in an MC because he likes how she looks at him so trustingly. Callie’s life has never been easy. She is a bit naive and is a people pleaser. She is easy to forgive which is a good thing for Brick.
I was a tad confused on the end because she was suggesting a plan to get information from her old boss, but this book doesn’t contain any information about that. Maybe the next book?
Being part of a MC, Brick goes into town and meets Callie who is unaware that he’s a part of this biker club. He’s not relationship material normally, but tries with Callie. This was a shorter read, with spice. Since I love MC books I couldn’t wait to start it. I just wish it was longer when it got good.
I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own
Ahhh, another great read! Things are getting intense for the Straight To Hell MC, It's like the minute they get one guy another pop up like a wacko mole, during all of this they managed to fall in love and holding on tight to their loved ones. The question remains, will they prevail? Well I know I can't wait to find out⚜⚜⚜
Wow! Brick was a surprisingly the perfect lover and partner considering him being the VP of his MC crew. He fell for a 26 virgin, who made extremely poor choices with her life and allowed herself to get abused by others. The ending was really nice but left you a bit of questions... did she go back to her job to help out the MC crew???

This is a bit to sweet to be a dark MC romance. But I really like Brick, he is a lika a cozy bear and loves Callie. Callie is way to navie and a little stupid but sweet and kind. She kind of annoying at times, even if I liked her. The story is some what boring and it takes a long time for something to happen. So for me this is a 2,75 star book.
This book is another good addition to this series. Love the characters and plot. Some good twists and turns along with action and romance. Looking forward to more books in this series.
I am really enjoying this new series. Brick and Callie meet and instantly hit it off. I loved them falling in love while the MC deals with their enemies. I cannot wait for the next story.
Quick read but honestly not a fan of the third person then not third person narration of the story. It was a quick read because it's only like 130 pages but definitely wouldn't read it again.
Thank you to Netgalley and Evernight Publishing for this ARC.
I thought this book was really good, I loved the storyline but I felt it just ended suddenly. And it just left me confused - are Brick and Callie getting another story?
I wasn't sure of the first book but this second book was better and I am glad I clicked. Brick is the VP and a chance meeting with an innocent young woman leaves him confused, terrified and happy.
