There's so much to discover at the Farm Shop... surprising delights, new friends, and memories to last a lifetime.
Kirelle and her best friend in the whole wide world, a very wise cat named Sam, happen upon the Farm Shop on a leisurely walk.
To her surprise and delight, Kirelle discovers the Farm Shop is bustling with friendly farm animals offering all sorts of unique goodies from cheese quackers to Hollywood moovies! It's so much fun to visit each stall, meet the animals, and find special gifts to take home for her friends and family.
But Kirelle soon finds herself with a big problem. She's collected gifts for everyone she adores and has no money left to buy anything for herself.
Clever Sam can always solve any dilemma, but it's Kirelle who realizes the solution she already holds inside. And it's a heart-warming reminder of what really matters most—and doesn't cost a thing.
Devon Avery is an award-winning filmmaker and #1 national bestselling author still in love with stories in all forms, just as he was as a boy growing up in the English countryside, reading everything he could get his hands on and only dreaming of making movies in Hollywood. He loves nothing more than bringing inspiring, moving, marvelous stories to life—on screen and in books—for story lovers of all ages.
This was a cute little read with beautiful illustrations! The characters were enjoyable and lively. The trip to the Farm Shop was a lovely adventure! I am looking forward to the next time my grands come up visit so I can share it with them! They're going to love being able to interact by making all the farm sounds. I won this copy through Goodreads and am very thankful to be able to add this to my book collection for my grands🥰
Life and nature meld together to create a wholesome, comforting read.
Kirelle and her best friend, Sam, come across the Farm Shop and discover all sorts of wonderful things...perfect as gifts for those she knows. And each one is created from friendly farm animals with love. When she discovers she didn't get anything for herself, her best friend might have the perfect solution.
Young readers will enjoy this fun read. The animals make it a great pick for animal lovers. Each one is friendly, depicted with care, and expresses themselves in such a fitting (and slightly humorous) way. There's a nice play on words, which will have the youngest listeners smiling and makes for fun as a read aloud. Sometimes, the flow was a bit off, but it was still a lovely read and even makes a nice night time tale
The illustrations are done with care and have an individual touch. The colors are calming and the scenes offer enough details to draw in. The animals are easy to identify and the encouraging, positive atmosphere is impossible to miss
This is a book with more than a couple wholesome messages. There's the selflessness of friendship, giving, happiness found in small things, and openness to nature's bounty. It's a joyful book, which leaves a smile on the face. I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere.
PLEASE NOTE: I received a Kindle edition of this title from a GoodReads giveaway. The opinions in this review are my own.
This book is such a sweet story about a girl who goes shopping at a farm shop and faces the dilemma of what to do when she runs out of money before getting enough presents for those in her family. I love the watercolors! It has the right balance of vibrancy and peacefulness. Preschool children would love making the familiar animal sounds. This would also be a great book for a school setting. There are some good vocabulary words in this book, as well as some good opportunities for higher order thinking questions as you are reading the book. Overall, a very satisfactory read.
I really enjoyed this book, even though it was for a little kid. I read this book to my nephew whom is only two years old and he loved it. I can honestly say that this book was very active and showed a lot of color and pictures. The Farm Shop book was great and it is very kid friendly. There is a lot to learn from this book, such as happiness, and joy, important life lessons, and encourages a love of language. My nephew enjoyed this book very much he had me read it to him twice. The author did a great job with the writing of this book, and the illustrations as well. A great and enjoyable read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a delightful story about a beautiful farm store and the meaningful message about how sharing and thinking of others before yourself. Sam, a cat and his friend “Kirelle, discover a farm store and Kirelle wants to purchase a chocolate bar for herself and a movie for her father. Sam gently reminds Kirelle that she should also purchase something for her Mother, but if she does that, she won’t have enough money for her chocolate bar. She then realized that she didn’t need the chocolate bar, it would be nicer to purchase for her parents and she will be just as happy with the memory of visiting the farm store and the animals and their sounds.
Our first book on the iPad! I won this sweet little story, The Farm Shop, on Goodreads, thinking it would be nice for Parker. It was, but over two sittings. A little long for his current attention span, but he’ll get there!
It’s a lovely tale about being generous to those you love and that you get to always keep memories of your activities and of giving. A great message, lots of animal sounds to make, and Parker seemed to like watching the pages transition on the iPad.
I want to thank Devon Avery, author and Goodreads First reads Giveaway for the eBook Kindle copy of The Farm Shop that I won in the Giveaway.
Kirelle, a young girl and her cat Sam go for a walk and explore The Farm Shop in this cute story with talking farm animals, great illustrations and a message to young readers about being generous. The four-year-olds I shared it with ask to have it read again, which is a sure sign that they liked the story.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and I am glad I did. The story itself was interesting and had a lot of fun word play. At times the flow seemed a tad off but maybe because it was my first read. the pictures are wonderful and I genuinely love the way the pictures look. Maybe after a second read my 3 stars will become 4.
My eyebrow shot up a little reading in a kids book that "you should always buy presents for those you love when you go shopping"...,hmmm. I thought Sounds like something a kid might turn and use on mom lol. But then it turned to teach a good lesson in unselfishness, so it was redeemed. A very cute story, and the artwork was beautiful. My nieces will love this book.

Beautiful Illustrations and what a cute spin on a farmers market and farm story. What a sweet little book to learn about how memories are more important than things.
Very cute book provides a life lesson on what matters. Illustrations are amazingly detailed that a child will love. Good book to read at the end of a busy day.
Sweet little children’s book. Lovely story and pictures about a little girl and her cat. The cat takes her shopping at the local barn, and it is run by the animals that live there.
