Ever since large parts of the world were placed in lockdown in March 2020 in the name of public health, there has been a growing public suspicion that some sort of global seizure of power and social transformation is being implemented under guise of the extraordinary suspension of democracy and unprecedented restrictions of basic freedoms occurring in so many countries at the same time.
This book contends that since the financial collapse of 2008, populations in many countries have become restive in the face of extreme inequality and diminishing life chances. In a digital economy, one to two billion people will soon be superfluous, but they are not likely to remain sitting on their hands; in many parts of the world their resistance has begun. The Western capitalist elites have lost the capacity to engage their respective peoples in an equitable social contract and have resorted to stoking fear -- from the terrorism scare and the Russian threat to the COVID infliction, with more variants coming on line -- as a formula for curtailing protest and maintaining power.
It analyses the social forces driving this the US national security state and its intelligence apparatus, the IT giants spun off from it, and the large media conglomerates that have joined forces to create a comprehensive surveillance system of Orwellian dimensions The production of disease threats is amplified by the Gates Foundation and other public international organizations including the WHO, along with the pharmaceutical industries, foresee unprecedented profit in plans to inoculate the world population with experimental gene therapies sold as vaccines. Ideas on using a pandemic to initiate a worldwide state of siege have matured until the need for collective intervention -- the threat of a new financial meltdown and the need to remove Trump -- prompted global elites to seize the day.
The virus threat may not be an idle one, given the Pentagon's biowarfare infrastructure which for decades has been producing gain-of-function viruses in laboratories the world over, as have a wide range of countries.
The book is the first to offer an extensively documented, comprehensive analysis of all aspects of this real and embellished threat that is already ushering in a global transformation. Yet it ends on a note of hope, arguing that the very IT revolution that enabled the siege holds out the promise of a deepening democracy as the global public surges past the gatekeepers, online and off.
A devastating and trenchant critique of the current global state of emergency enabled by the Covid crisis, one which sets the precedent for a dystopian future if we don’t take action against it soon.
The book starts off by deconstructing the official narrative surrounding COVID-19, in that it is primarily a political emergency rather than a medical one, a state of war being declared by the ruling class on the restless subjects who seek to disrupt the status quo. Revolutionary movements across the world were gaining momentum until the present stalemate initiated by the Covid crisis, culminating in the adoption of counterinsurgency methods by governments seeking to deal with resistance to lockdowns. This has led to a seizure of power by members of the IT-intelligence-media elite (mostly based in the US) who aim to establish the “new normal” through coercion, demonstrating the application of “worst case scenarios” by an aging capitalism whose capacity to uphold the social contract diminishes over time. Evidently, the virus scenario seems to have proved its effectiveness for the time being, with the likes of the Gates as well as Rockefeller foundations having a played a role in drawing it up. In addition, US biological warfare research is analyzed as well as its uneasy relationship with its rival, China, with which it participated in microbiological research yet would oppose it in the IT sphere. Keeping that in mind, one can see the pandemic as an example of “disaster capitalism”, characterized as "economic opportunities for business created by major catastrophes" (p.6), with the presence of sectors of the IT-intelligence-media bloc as well as the biopolitical complex (e.g biotech, Gates Foundation etc.) in planned meetings over the course of 2019 designed to prepare for a “possible virus outbreak” (the wording is quite striking) as well as information control aka shutting down dissenting opinions. Finally, the author closes with a possible scenario in which the present IT Revolution could lead to "radical democracy and digital planning" (ibid.), a world in which a sustainable human future can be built.
An essential read in these trying times where questioning the official narrative risks one being labeled a “conspiracy theorist” (a vacuous statement nowadays) and in which a trove of information is being obfuscated from the public eye, for as a wise man once rightly noted: “in times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Solid analysis, Albeit without a the energy component
A very well researched book, incomplete without the most important aspect the end of cheap energy that advanced industrial societies need to function. Capital, in and of itself has no intrinsic value as say a barrel of oil does. Much of the ruling classes wealth is in paper assets anr abstractions, although the shot callers, eg Buffet, have heen transitioning into hard assets at least since 2008. Without the foundational aspect of modern society the book feels significantly incomplete.
One simple example, what are the energy requirements of the panopticon?, and how does that system function, at $100, so $200 a barrel of oil ? Include Natural gas at current prices , etc and quite quickly the system becomes non-viable. Much like the concord transnational flight.
Highly detailed analysis of the most important trends in current international relations. With language to describe the take-over of a new global corporate oligarchy still lacking, this book introduces some crucial terminology to understand pivotal processes and relationships in the twilight world of public-private entanglements.
book #25 of 2022: States of Emergency: Keeping the Global Population in Check (pub. 2022) by Dutch political scientist who was professor of international relations at the University of Sussex, Kees Van Der Pijl. (spoilers ahead …………………………………………………………………………………………………………..…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….)
this book was about…genocide and the mass enslavement of the world population. the author discusses how: - the pandemic was planned as a societal power grab by the elite. - the virus was lab-created and hasn’t been nearly as deadly as the news has made it seem. - the pharmaceutical industry is criminal and unchecked in its ongoing atrocities against the world population. - the experimental vaccines contain: - spike proteins that spread through the body, attacking major organs, especially the heart (leading to myocarditis) and showing a decreased function of the frontal lobe of the brain, “which plays a major role in making moral decisions” (leading to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, CJD, in some, which has extremely high mortality and is caused by prions), as well as damaging the immune system, leaving people much more vulnerable to the current virus, as well as future illnesses. - nanotech that enables biometric identification for digital tracking with possible capacity for mental override. - the elite is attempting to vaccinate (gain access to) the entire globe. “The slogan ‘leave no one behind,’ a slogan that was never used when it came to combating malaria, other diseases, poverty, or even the world food situation, speaks volumes here.” “Vaccination with substances containing magnetic nanoparticles is obviously the ideal form of introducing them into the human body, because it is done under the guise of healthcare, leading people to line up to receive the jab. Ultimately, however, it is about placing humanity under surveillance, even making them react or behave according to instructions from the outside. First of course, each individual must be properly tagged.”
so…if this whole pandemic thing has seemed fishy to you, like there must be more to it, this book is an excellent place to start. it was recommended to me by Linda Hagge, who is the most voracious reader I know (puts me to shame). I highly recommend following her facebook page: she posts excellent, relevant articles daily. some books she is (and now I am, as her reading follower) reading, planning to read, or has read, include: - Tragedy and Hope by Carroll Quigley - Tragedy and Hope 101 by Joseph Plummer - The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve by G. Edward Griffin - Confessions of an Economic Hit Man: The shocking story of how America really took over the world by John Perkins - The Blood Bankers: Tales from the Global Underground Economy by James S. Henry - The Web of Debt: The Shocking Truth About Our Money System And How We Can Break Free by Ellen Brown - The Meddlers: Sovereignty, Empire, and the Birth of Global Economic Governance by Jamie Martin - Consent Factory Essays, Vols 1-3, by CJ Hopkins (https://consentfactory.org) - Life After the State: Why We Don't Need Government by Dominic Frisby
back to the book at hand…there’s a lot more to the book. he DEF names names. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
note: one topic I was surprised the author didn’t really get into was 5G. check out Arthur Firstenberg’s The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life (https://www.ahava528.com/wp-content/u...) to learn about that topic. that book was recommended to me by Daniel Jacobazzi.

I think this book is for everyone that wants a bit more background on current affairs, and how they are connected in history. Whether you believe and/or trust everything that is going on at the moment, this book is a well referenced project that certainly will make you think about the current state of the world, including politicians, media, IT oligarchs, influencers etc. This book is not about proclaiming a certain stance, but more an analysis of connections and how they relate to historic events and literature/studies. And yes, it fascinates me to see how certain strains/industries are linked so closely. Power comes with responsibility. History however tells us that power corrupts… unfortunately.
