Ok I read this repeatedly for years when it first came out over 20 yrs ago. It still stands up as a great book and doesn't seem dated at all, thats how far ahead of her time CA was.
Loved this book, would have liked more plot hence 4 stars only as the plot was weak. Also that ending was too abrupt. So many unanswered questions and plot challenges to reconcile.
Otherwise I love the world building and would have like to see more of dohsans religious advancement and how they solved the toxin issue for the other fem
