Anna Dewdney was an award-winning children's-book author, illustrator, teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of literacy and reading aloud to children. She was the author of the bestselling Llama Llama Red Pajama series of picturebooks, among many others. She lived with her partner Reed Duncan in Vermont where she worked, gardened, and spent time with her daughters and dogs.
"This is kind of a long and short book at the same time. Also made me think. I like the part where his mom can't be angry because he was just trying to make a cool masterpiece. And it was great, and I love that he made it out of food since he didn't have to paint." -Lu
"I would have given this one star. I didn't like it when she was two, and I don't like it now. Nothing happens." -Sam

A little llama uses food to create art. Banana, blueberries, carrots, grapes, peas and strawberries are arranged on a plate to form something very creative. Nice book that encourages small children to look for artistic inspiration in everyday items. May be the perfect book for the little artist in your life!
For me this was a miss. My household loves Llama Llama so we were eager to enjoy this new release. And an educational one at that!
Llama Llama creates art with food for a simple teaching of color concepts. But alas, sadly it lacks. The rhymes chosen are odd…Maybe we expected more but I doubt this one will be added to our collection. Not bad but just not great. 3.5 stars.
Llama Llama creates an art project on his plate using colorful fruits and veggies. This simple board book teaches colors, and it's always nice to see the promotion of healthy foods.
The rhyming is off on this one. I guess we're learning about foods as well as colors, but I was too focused on trying to understand the rhymes and where the story was going.
