L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal. L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers. With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet
To sum this up as if I could actually put into words how this book made me feel, I’d say unbearably sad at times, but as you read, the pure love, joy and emotions are indescribable. Mase and Kateri were soul mates and you could feel their connection deeply. This book touched me on a level I’d forgotten exists. The characters are maturing emotionally and obviously physically but it’s more. The progression of Justice, Keesog and the others was a joy to behold. Reading it for a second time was amazing too, I was able to appreciate all the little things so much more. Some of it was nostalgia from Prince's books and all the little funny things they did or used to do. Especially the Stooges lol. I can honestly say I cannot wait for the next book but not sure how you can top this one. Amazing.
I've been waiting for Mase's story since he was first introduced as a kid. I thought I knew all about him, boy was I surprised! This story was awesome, and there is so much more to know and love about Mase than we ever knew! Thank you L Ann Marie for another stellar read in the MC universe!
Okay so I'm thinking Goodreads just didn't upload all my reviews because I Definitely reviewed MASE'S BOOK !!! I had been waiting on his forever !!! I'll do another because this book deserves it. Mase always feeling less than his brothers has been since he was young, think Christian's book. Even at the RISING clubs in the beginning he felt less, it started changing in Jinks book ( ENDUE) we started seeing Mase be confident in his role . This story of Mase finding Sarah/Katarei was like seeing him fulfill his destiny! With some ancestors added bonuses 😜🔥hint..hint. Warning ....the book does take us back to the original MC BADA$$ and PRINCES history with fighting against Human Trafficking but with a different and not mentioned much tie to the Native culture so be warned. One of my favorite aspects of this new series is the BADA$$ ties to the Native tribes. Its not written about often and L Ann does it with style. Awesome book and should be a definite buy!!
We see the legendary Blackhawk temper and protectiveness come to life. The glimpses we caught of Mase in his childhood and teenage years does not prepare you for the fierce warrior he became. We got to know him a little more in the previous BSC books but he was lighter, almost carefree.
Sarah’s past is heartbreaking but Mase makes sure her future is everything it should be. Connections to several characters we have come to love are shown that throw people for a loop.
I love this author!! L. Ann Marie never fails to suck me in. Mase's story was flaming hot 🔥 while also dealing with some serious subject matter. You get your fix of our ongoing and previous characters, thank goodness, lol. I might have to rebel otherwise. Seriously you can't go wrong reading L. Ann's books. I suggest you start at the beginning though which is actually the Baxter's and then Knight. Thank you L. Ann for another great read. I hate finishing the book because then it's done and I have to wait for another one to come out😕
This one was beautiful, gut wrenching, hilarious, and naughty all wrapped in a bow! Mase is just badass to the core and a Blackhawk to boot. Kateri is amazing and has her own skillz to bring to the table. My absolute favorite was the ending and the shirts…cracked me up when everyone fought to find out what their shirt said, lmfao. Great story shedding light on human trafficking and it is no joke. Picking up the pieces are what is the hardest not only for the survivors but the families as well. Great addition to the series and love this author!
This was a hard book to read, but as always, beautifully written. I always feel incredibly blessed to be able to read her books. The messages she tells, how she shows what "Badass" really means are lessons the entire world should learn and live. She is an incredibly gifted story teller and I thank God I don't have to wait very long for her next book. Once again, thank you for the wonderful world you create in each book. They make my day.
I've read all of her books. The MC ones are my favorite. They keep getting better and better. Made always came off in the other books as a carefree fun loving kid then man. I'm glad to see that fierce protective Blackhawk. His girl is so perfect for him. Highly recommed this series to all who love Men and Women who are strong, fierce, loving, compassionate, loyal and so much more. READ
She doesn't write bad books. This just proves it. Reading about Mase since his birth in book 5 of MC series, this was a long time coming. I've always enjoyed his character and this book just solidified that. Read them all, but this one was great. Can't wait to see what is next!
Hot and intense, our hero shows a real battle with his emotions. Heroine is a mystery that I just couldn't get into. I loved the other secondary characters, interactions and the Heroes POV. But some how it didn't give enough, to really enjoy the Heroine POV. I am a fan of this series, and can't wait for the next book.
This one was a rollercoaster of emotions, human trafficking is such an emotive topic but handled well. Lovely catching up with all the characters. Would have been 5 stars but I still have trouble keeping up with all the different characters and intertwined storylines.
I absolutely loved this book just as I love all of them. I checked my email and Amazon almost daily looking for the next book in this series and I was not disappointed. These books are awesome.
All the books by L.Ann Marie have been a highlight in my reading life 🤩 I have never read a story that hasn't touched my heart or made me giggle ♥ cannot wait for the next read!
Loved it. Been waiting on Mase’s story and it didn’t disappoint. Have already read it twice and at a guess will read it another couple of times over the weekend. Loved the way Mase had to hold in his emotions at certain times and the fact the whole Badass family was there to support them
I have been waiting for Mase’s story and it didn’t disappoint, Mase has learned all the lessons of his fathers and it shows. I can’t wait to read who is next.
This is the latest book in a vastly long series. Don’t start here, you won’t understand anything. Go to the beginning and start with The Baxters.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Blackhawk clan and the book where Cloud and CJ got together is a firm favourite. So reading a book about their son Mase finding the love of his life was always going to be something I would enjoy. Mase was the youngest in his family, and the rest of his siblings were adopted by his parents. He’s close to his family and has a good dose of the ‘freaky’ genes. He moved to BSC West with the younger Princes kids and has found his home at Honor Rising, as VP, where he feels a connection to the land that his Native American heritage relishes.
When Mase meets a woman it starts as hookups and very rapidly changes into something else when he finds out she has been keeping secrets and on top of that she is connected to Badass.
This story touches on child abuse and sex trafficking and though it doesn’t have many details, it is a main subject of the book and could affect you adversely if you are sensitive around this subject matter. However, as this subject has been handled many times in this series you are probably aware of the level of detail you will be exposed to.
The last book I read in the series was heavily detail orientated and left me a little cold, whereas this book returned to the heart of the series which is all about the connections between the various families and clubs and how they all help each other to do good that helps communities, country and the world.
There are a few moments that were quite emotional and sweet as well as the usual fun sexy times. As always the kids and Alpha-Bits steal the show with their cuteness.
This book is the reason I keep reading this hugely long and sometimes unpredictable series because for every slightly dubious book, there are a few of these ones. Really enjoyable reading.
Mase Blackhawk, at 30, is the youngest of Cloud and CJ's kids. VP in the newest club Honor Rising and one of Justices' Protectors, his life is busy. A freakier version of Uncle Danny, he is everywhere and helping anyone he can. He just found the perfect women, who he is thinking may be his ol'lady. He soon learns his perfect sub has secrets, her name being just one of them. Kateri Todachine, is a graphic designer with an eidetic memory, of native decent, has a lot of secrets. She keeps to her self and maintains a low profile. Her relationships are kept to the club. Then Mase Blackhawk finds his way into her life. He is changing everything. Mase and Kateri struggle to find their balance. Well meaning advise causes some trouble, but they get there. Through Kateri, a long history of trafficking in native women and children is found. Kateri finds that she and Cort are family and they both find that they have family in Kristos, Major, Nova and Parker. They learn of the family ties between Crow and Heam. Cort is going to destroy the trafficking ring, and bring the dirty Mason at the heart, to MC justice. Mase and Kateri, family grows with the addition of 4 little ones they rescued. Jinx and Debora add a little girl. Sebastian and Joey take on a newborn that Jeremy says is meant for them. Fast paced and steamy, romantic drama. The story deals with human trafficking and in child sexual and physical abuse. Loved Mase and Kateri's story. Can't wait for the next book.
