LUKE
I had no intention of being at the club tonight. The only thing I want after a six month long business trip is to spend about a week in my own bed. But all that changes when I lay eyes on the new girl at Wyld. The curvy redhead is standing on stage, a prize ready to be awarded to one lucky man, and just like that, I know I’d move heaven and earth for a chance to win her.

REBECCA
Becoming a submissive isn’t at all like I thought it would be. The exciting, naughty fun I imagined only seems to exist in romance novels. Instead of a Dom who satisfies my every need, I find myself tied to a man who prefers to dole out a whole lot of pain with little of the pleasure I crave. When he takes things a step too far, entering me in Club Wyld’s infamous submissive lottery without my permission, I can’t help but think this life might not be for me after all.

Until I see which man is holding the winning ticket.

Step behind the steel door and meet the men of Club Wyld—demanding, dominant, and oh-so-delicious!

She escapes her hometown to get away from her controlling, important father. When her dominant forces her to enter a raffle, she meets a Dom that educates her how the lifestyle is supposed to be, instead of how her current dom treats her. When she runs into him in her "real" life, away from the club scene, she tries to avoid the inevitable complications. He is determined to have her, gain her trust, and teach her how the lifestyle should work. When her previous dom comes back with threats of exposure, she has a choice to make.

Only a couple of typos noticed. The author makes it a point to educate the reader about the control of power in a bdsm lifestyle and how trust, on going consent, and safe words are the most important aspects of a D/S relationship. As someone who doesn't live the lifestyle, I appreciate the author making sure to explain these points. I've read this book at least twice this year, and still enjoyed it as much if not more.

This book was pretty good. I'm not usually one to go for insta-love books, but Aden makes it so easy to be okay with it. He is such an ass and uses the lifestyle to his advantage instead of the trust it is supposed to be based on. Luke also makes it easy to be okay with it because you can tell how fast he is falling for Rebecca. I'm glad he was able to teach her the real purpose of the lifestyle, and she chose to cut off Aden. This is also when we learned that Rebecca's dad was a US Senator, because of course Aden tried to use it again her. Luke wasn't having that shit. It ended with Aden getting kicked out for 6 months, and no more warnings, and with Luke and Rebecca doing a scene in front of everyone. I will probably read the second one, but not sure when.

DNF @ 50% | This was soo good at first. Luke was super protective off the bat (and possessive hihi) and he made sure that Rebecca learned what BDSM was really about. But then, he turns out to be her boss and from that point on things got toxic. Rebecca *needs* this job. None of her others have worked out, she needs to stay here to finish school and without the money she won't be able to pay for it or her rent. So she tells Luke that they can't continue this – no complications. And he gives zero fucks about her wishes. Literally zero. Just tells her "blablabla I'll take care of you" when all they did was have sex *one* time. So disappointed!

This is the first in a series. I didn’t know the author, but my daughter recommended it. She told me “there’s BDSM, but the story is nice and quick to read” well, it was quick to read and I loved the story. Since as there’s BDSM you have to expect the spice🌶️🌶️🌶️ Luke the Dom and Rebecca the Sub, meet unexpectadely and fall hard for each other. Then they have to deal with a few problems. Although being a quick read, it was a very good read.

honestly, this book was quite entertaining. it gave me some fifty shades vibes but not in a tacky way or in a way that made it sound like unoriginal way. the plot and the story weren't all over the place which i appreciated, i feel like some authors aren't the best at remaining consistent in their writing and i didn't find that to be in an issue in this book.

THANK YOU FOR NOT WRITING AN UNNECESSARY THIRD ACT BREAKUP!!!

His to keep

This is one of the better dom/sub books I’ve read. It was intense, sweet and intimate. I find a lot of books like this forget about the soft side and focus on the domination. Pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the plot too.

It was a quick fun read until the last scene which is why I took a star off. The last chapter of the book felt very out of character and just kinda intense as well as turned my stomach a little because of how out of character it seemed. would have been 4/5 if not for that 😬

“If I had my way, you’d never leave the house. You'd be tied to my bed until I'm ready to use you again.”

Thoughts: The main narrative follows a captivating journey in which the protagonist escapes her controlling father's influence. When a dominant encourages her to participate in a raffle, she meets a knowledgeable Dom who introduces her to a healthier understanding of the lifestyle—a stark contrast to her previous experiences. The story becomes more complex when she encounters him outside of the club scene, introducing both intrigue and tension as she grapples with her feelings and the complications that arise. As she weighs her past against the supportive future he offers, she must confront the return of her previous Dom, who threatens to expose her. This compelling tale keeps the reader engaged and marks a solid addition to my reading goals. While I wished for a bit more character development, the book left me with much to ponder and a sense of optimism regarding the choices we all face. Overall, it’s a quick and not terrible read.

Favourite Moment: I really enjoyed the scene when they went over all the rules, expectations and what the relationship is meant to look like moving forward.

Notes: The author emphasises the importance of power dynamics in a BDSM lifestyle, highlighting trust, ongoing consent, and the use of safe words as the cornerstones of a healthy D/S relationship. I appreciate the clarity with which these concepts are presented.

Short read

Rebecca and Luke are the two main characters. Rebecca was won by Luke and that is it for him. She is the one. Rebecca has trouble from an ex. Luke takes care of that. Very short story.

You can read my review of His to Keep on my blog, here: https://thepaperworlds.blogspot.com/2....

This is a spoiler-free review! His to Keep is currently available for free on iBooks and Kindle.

Once again the free book section on iBooks has roped me in and I just had to see what this book had in store. Clocking in at under 200 pages, His to Keep is a quick read that gets right to the point with Luke and Rebecca, who have a chance encounter that is the catalyst for their relationship.

Much like the coincidence we see in Fifty Shades of Grey, Rebecca and Luke find themselves drawn to each other right off the bat and have an immediate connection. With Luke being extremely protective of Rebecca from the start, we can all imagine how their relationship plays out the more they become involved with one another. There is a hint of will-they-won't-they in the beginning of their story, but as it plays out you can tell just how much they cannot stay away from one another.

Now when I say we jump right into the story, I really mean it -- within the first twenty pages we see Luke and Rebecca already enamored with one another in a less than conventional way of meeting. With two perspectives, we see how both characters are feeling during this very intense first meeting, especially when it comes to Luke trying to understand what Rebecca is going through. The author spends a lot of time making sure the reader -- and Rebecca -- understand the lifestyle that Luke participates in and the dynamic they need to have in order to make sure that they are both being taken care of.

Even though this is a quick read, it does not feel too insta-lovey, which is a pleasant surprise considering I half expected Luke and Rebecca to start declaring their love for each other three chapters in based off the page length alone. It was refreshing to see how concerned Luke was for Rebecca, and his constant reassurance to her when she was in a vulnerable position really stood out as a great characteristic.

The more spicier scenes were pretty good, but definitely on the shorter side for the sake of the plot -- which we do get a decent amount of and led to a pretty good plot in this story that had me intrigued. So much so that I would have loved for the book to be a touch longer so we could have gotten some more angst and action regarding the situation that Rebecca was in. To avoid any spoilers, the book's plot point keeps a pretty strong focus on Rebecca's struggles, and that includes a not so great partner, Aden, that continues to wreck havoc on her life.

This was a quick and fun read that made for a good palate cleanser in between books. To those who enjoyed His to Keep, I would recommend Praise by Sara Cate, one of my top recommendations to give for fans of this genre.

His To Keep, the debut novel by Violet James and published by V James Publishing on June 6, 2021, is a scorching-hot, emotionally charged romance that kicks off what promises to be an enthralling series.

The story introduces us to Luke, a man who never intended to be at the club tonight, having just returned from a grueling six-month business trip with one thing on his mind – his own bed. However, fate has other plans when he sets his eyes on a mesmerizing curvy redhead on stage, poised to be matched with one lucky man. In that instant, Luke knows he’d move heaven and earth for a chance with her.

Rebecca, our heroine, finds herself in a lifestyle that defies her expectations. The romantic excitement she once imagined is replaced with a reality that involves more pain than pleasure. As she navigates this unfamiliar territory, a drastic step is taken when she’s entered into Club Wyld’s infamous matching game. This decision is the catalyst for a passionate and suspenseful journey.

What makes His To Keep stand out is the authenticity of the characters and their emotional depth. Luke, despite his dominant persona, comes across as a genuinely caring individual who values the well-being of his submissives. The chemistry between him and Rebecca is electric, and their connection is palpable from the very beginning.

Violet James skillfully weaves a tale that is not only steamy but also emotionally engaging. The story’s pacing keeps readers hooked, and the narrative is rich with sensual tension and raw passion. It’s clear that James has a talent for writing scorching romance scenes that sizzle off the pages.

As the first book in a series, His To Keep leaves readers eagerly anticipating what comes next. The characters’ complexities and the unresolved threads in the plot promise an intriguing continuation of their story.

The book’s spicy elements are indeed enticing, and the emotional rollercoaster it takes readers on makes it a must-read for fans of contemporary romance with a BDSM twist.

If you’re looking for a novel that combines intense chemistry, genuine emotion, and a promise of more to come, His To Keep is an excellent choice. It’s a gripping introduction to the series, and it’s no wonder you’re eager to dive into the rest of the books. Kindle Unlimited seems like a great choice to explore the sequels, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

A Captivating Dive into the BDSM World

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I recently delved into the intriguing world of BDSM through "His to Keep: A Club Wyld Novel" by Violet James. As the first installment in the series and my introduction to this author's work, the experience left me pleasantly surprised and thoroughly engaged.

The story follows Luke, a character whose unexpected night at Club Wyld takes an unforeseen turn when he sets his eyes on the captivating redhead, Rebecca. Despite its brevity, the narrative masterfully captures the essence of the BDSM lifestyle, providing a tantalizing glimpse into its complexities.

From the outset, I found myself drawn to the characters, their chemistry palpable and off the charts. The author skillfully weaves a tale rich in angst and drama, making each page a compelling exploration of desire and intensity. Despite the short length, the story packs a punch, leaving a lasting impression.

The synopsis sets the stage for a passionate journey, with Luke and Rebecca navigating the challenges of their unconventional connection. The Club Wyld setting adds an extra layer of intrigue, and the infamous matching game serves as a catalyst for unexpected twists and turns.

The narrative's brevity doesn't diminish its impact; instead, it enhances the pacing and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Violet James adeptly navigates the nuances of the BDSM world, offering a well-crafted demonstration that goes beyond clichés, providing depth to the characters and their experiences.

In conclusion, "His to Keep" is a tantalizing introduction to Club Wyld, showcasing demanding and dominant characters who are undeniably delicious. As a first-time reader of both the series and the author, I can confidently say that this book offers a captivating entry point into the world of BDSM romance, leaving me eager to explore more of Violet James's creations. A four-star rating with a five-heat level recommendation for those ready to embark on a steamy and emotionally charged journey.

Being a sub but not understanding the world Rebecca gets forced to do many things within Club Wyld that she doesnt want to do, this includes being in a submissive lottery getting a new "dom" for the night. This however ends up being the chance of a lifetime for her as thel lucy man that wins her treats her right leaving her with a good night.

A few days later Rebecca goes to work at her temp office job and her world gets thrown upsidedown again as the dom is a form of her boss. He isnt technically her boss but after seeing her he makes it so she works for no one else but him.

After some back and forth on will this make since they agree to work together in a professional relationship and of course the sexual relationship lingers til they explode and reconnect.

While he gave off asshole vibes bad boy mafia like he is not. He was just cranky from his buisness trips as he shows compassion for every one he meets except Rebbeccas former Dom. Rebecca stays with him and learns what it means to be a true sub and loves her life. Of course there is some more drama within their story but it stays light. The BDSM stays light, and the kick ass scene of ex Dom could of been added to the book for spice instead of as an afterthought and a broken nose.

It could of been better, darker instead it was a lighter 50 shades of grey.

Many romance books I’ve read include characters with toxic traits and red flags. Luke Davis, on the other hand, exhibited green flags galore as he tried to win the trust FMC Rebecca Fields, who was just hired to be his PA. Rebecca, seemingly stuck in a toxic and controlling (but nondating) relationship, was reluctant to open her heart to Luke after an unexpected rendezvous. Luke became determined to win her trust and her heart if only he could make her realize her self worth. If there was one thing this book did well, it was stressing the importance of consent. This theme was carried throughout the book and Luke did a fantastic job explaining how trust is the foundation to a healthy relationship.

While a short read, there was a surprising amount of plot and several parts had my heart racing. That being said, for an “erotic” romance, there was relatively few spicy scenes. That being said, I still enjoyed this sweet story immensely. The dirty talk and banter, on the other hand, was sprinkled throughout the story. While it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, this was a fun start to the new year.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Hot, Intense, & Sexy as ever

Luke can’t take his eyes off Rebecca when she is on stage at the club being auctioned for a night. He wants her with every being of his body. He’s never had this reaction to a woman before and he can’t not act on it. When his friend Philip wins her Luke can’t allow another man to touch her and he buys the ticket from Philip and he is ready to spend the night with Rebecca. Rebecca can’t believe her Dom Aden Roth has put into the Draw but there is nothing she can do about it except do what he says. She has no idea that the way he treats her is not the way a Dom should treat his sub. All that changes when she spends one night with Luke! He is everything she’s ever wanted but she knows it’s only the 1 night how will it ever be enough. Fate works some magic and she is reunited with Luke by being hired as his PA. She’s enamored his this man and now he is her boss. The attraction between them is explosive and Luke will do anything to make her his! This book is hot, intense, and oh so sexy. You will love watching Luke & Rebecca become united is not only hot but beyond sexy. An amazing start to this fun and sexy Dom/Sub series Club Wyld. Happy Reading!!

Those Who Love Sara Cate's Salacious Players Club Need to Read Club Wyld

This popped up on my main Microsoft browser feed this week and I am so glad I immediately went to click .
For anyone who couldnt get enough of Sara Cate's Praise and Highest Bidder Luke Davis will be the Dom for you, and honestly I hope he gets a full length novel with Rebecca because he is just perfection.
Spice level ..for BDSM it is tame 🌶🌶🌶 . He is considerate , protective and all in from the first look.
There is a little forbidden workplace romance because it turns out he owns the business Rebecca just started working for. The Monday after the auction at Club Wyld where they met , Luke fired his PA and HR sent Rebecca up to the executive floor as a replacement.
Rebecca stood her ground against this powerful billionaire , set boundaries because she wanted to stay independent and continue working. I dont know, but it is pretty tempting to be swept up in a Pretty Woman fairy tale , but Rebecca has goals for herself , and Luke wants her to acheive them all.

For a novella , this ends up on my top ten faves of 2023, and Luke will make my Dark Daddies top ten.

Returning from a business trip, Luke just wanted to go home and sleep for a few days. But his presence was required for a meeting at Club Wyld, and exclusive sex club of which he’s a member. There happened to be a submissive auction at the club, and when Luke sees Rebecca on the stage, he has to have her. When he wins his bid for her, he’s looking forward to a D/s night w/Rebecca. Their chemistry is evident from the moment they see each other.

I loved how Luke felt protective of Rebecca, even though he didn’t know her. Rebecca felt a strong pull toward Luke, and she was looking forward to his brand of domination. Rebecca already has a Dom, but there’s just something about Master Luke that speaks to her submissive side. Lots of heat in this story; plenty of action at Club Wyld.

I really enjoyed this series by Violet James, a new-to-me author. There are three books in this series, and I can’t wait to get to the next one.

Luke has a meeting with some clients at Club Wyld. His secretary never called to tell him it was canceled. When he arrives at the club and finds out it was canceled he decides to go home but his buddy convinces him to stay. The Draw is tonight but Luke doesn't plan on staying until he sees this woman on stage that he can't keep his eyes off of. She's to spend the night with whoever has the winning ticket. Will he win her?

Luke is very powerful. Rebecca is shy but sassy. They are so different that they work perfectly together. The Draw is definitely not what I expected. That first night was eye opening for her. The whole work situation was surprising. Dinner at the office was definitely different. The attitude Rebecca has is great. The way Luke talks to her will make everyone swoon. Violet really captured what our lifestyle is like. Not many people can do that. I love this story.

Rebecca wonders if she really should be part of the lifestyle, she left home because of her controlling father and didn’t want to be in a relationship like that. Particularly with her Dom forcing her to do things that she doesn’t like or want to do.
After seeing the submissive in the lottery and something about her drawing him, Luke knows he has to win her, but talking to her he wonders if she’s really interested in the lifestyle with how she responds, then he finds out exactly what her Dom is like.
Rebecca realises that what she thought about the lifestyle was all wrong, Luke shows her the difference, Luke also lets her know that he wants her. When Rebecca’s ex Dom shows up with threats, Luke shows her exactly how far he is willing to go to protect the woman he loves.
