Imprisoned for the ultimate crime, use of forbidden magic, should earn me some respect at Spellbound Prison, but when I refuse to join the Blood Coven no amount of street cred can save me from their wrath. Their reach extends far past the inmates, possibly all the way to the Warden himself.
I don’t stand a chance alone, but trusting people is not my strong suite at the moment.
Discovering my true heritage brings dangers of its own…
My powers can no longer be contained with binding spells. I can’t control them and my enemies know more about my magic than I do.
Could the family pendant that hangs from my neck be the key to everything?
Learning to control my powers will take some getting used to. Being imprisoned with the worst criminals in the magical community will take survival skills.
You’ll love this gripping tale full of magic, mayhem, and mermaids because Jewels’ fight for survival and the truth will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I loved this story and cannot wait to read more. If you love magic, sirens, mermaids, etc… check this out for sure. This was a really fast, easy read that kept moving forward. I love how it didn’t get too burdened down by description but I still was able to visualize all the fantastical elements! Loved it!
This was a great quick read. It is filled with suspense, drama, plot twists and lots of magic. The author kept you on your toes throughout the book.
Plot development was done so well. I loved how there were more plot twists as you read. This book easily drags you into this supernatural world. The plot, world and story were always being developed, which I really loved.
Character development was okay. While Jewels is greatly developed I would have loved to see some of the other characters developed a bit more. Some relationships between characters were a bit off putting and I didn't really enjoy them. However, there was a reason for it.
Overall, I loved reading this book. It was a fun, quick read filled with lots of adventure. It is easy to get hooked to this book. Also, that ending was amazing.
*I was gifted this book by the author for my honest review of this book.*
I really enjoyed this book. It was such an easygoing read with great characters. In the beginning I felt like it was a bit rushed, there was often a lot happening at once and it seemed to jump from one scenario to the next without being connected. However as the book progressed everything began to come together and it made sense. I still feel like the story was a little to fastpaced and I would've loved to learn more about some of the characters and see their relationships develop more. Overall it is a great story with a little room for improvement. It ends on a major cliffhanger so I can't wait for the next book.
I couldn't tell where this story was going to begin with, it seems to suddenly spring off in a different direction completely! There are some fantastic characters and I really felt like I wasn't sure who to trust and who not to trust, and as for working out who the evil genius was, I was way off! I did get most of the characters on the right side of the good/bad split though so I'm happy with that! This was a great quick read for Young adults upwards.
I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.
This book was amazing! There are a few little typos that could be fixed but the storyline and magic in this was incredible. I am so excited to see where this story goes and am so sad I don’t have the next book in my hands already!
*I received this in a goodreads giveaway but all opinions are my own.*
This is a really great story, full of magic, secrets twists and turns, enemies are friends and friends are enemies and few who they seem to be. Loved the really strong characters. It starts with a bang and never really slows down. The writing is excellent, entertaining and with lots of emotion. I am really looking forward to the next book.
Such a great book. I loved the characters and the story lines and I’m looking very forward to the 2nd book. I love the audiobook version! Michelle Price was such a great narrator for this!!!
If Harry Potter was a girl and was learning in Azkaban
Very Potter-esque. A girl who doesn't know she has magical powers ends up in magical prison because she unknowingly used those powers for illegal actions.
