A month in a remote cabin with the last man I ever expected to see again? I can’t decide if I should punch him or drill him. It might end up being both.

After more than a decade, the last person I expected to see walk into the Four Bears Construction offices as a new hire was Ridge.

He was my first crush, and my first heartbreak when he started dating my sister. When he left her at the altar without so much as a note, I wrote him off for good.

No amount of excuses and explanations can erase what he did. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. But when we end up being sent to a remote campground alone to spend a month rebuilding the cabins, it’s too easy to remember why I fell for him in the first place.

I know the guys are all taking bets on how long it takes us to start playing with each other’s tools.

It’s going to be a long month.

*** Drilled is a forced proximity, best friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, hilarious and steamy, final book in the Four Bears Construction series. It can be read as a stand alone but you won't want to miss this whole hilarious and hot series. No bear shifters, only the other kind of burly, hairy bears

I was waiting for this story. Second-chance love? Friends-to-lovers? Yes, please.

But it didn't go down how I imagined. For one, Apollo and Ridge were never initially together. They were best friends and roommates, but Ridge was engaged to Apollo's sister until he didn't show up to his own wedding. When he tried to explain, Apollo punched him in the face.

Well, then.

Here we are 15 years later and:

- Ridge has never attempted to reach the woman he stood up at the altar. (I don't care if you're gay or straight. Don't be an asshole.) Then again, he never tries to contact Apollo either.

- Apollo keeps running away (literally) and refusing to talk things through. His behavior was so fucking immature, I couldn't even.

- Four Bears Construction guys harass the MCs and take bets on their sex lives. Stone even pulls a prank involving lube, which was full-on bullying and not even remotely funny. (Let's not normalize this, please. In any other world, regardless of sex/gender, this is full-on sexual harassment. No one gets to ask invasive questions about your sex life. PERIOD. No discussion.)

In the end, after much growling and grunting, Apollo and Ridge get together and all is forgiven.

While this book was decidedly sexy and had some endearing moments, the wrap-up was too easy and simplistic, and the MCs read closer to 20 than 40.

I really loved this series! Tthis one was a great addition, it had good friends-to-ennemies-to-lovers vibes. The MCs are both 40 and have not really spoken in 15 years. I really could feel their connection, that they had not changed that much in the meantime and still got each other. The sex was HOT even though there was, maybe, too much of it. At first, Apollo's unwillingness to hear Ridge out was a bit much and started to feel convenient (so that the explanation would be delayed) but I liked the way that conversation played out. I really enjoyed seeing all the bears even if they were being noisy. That was in character for them though and I really liked how Apollo stood his ground! I still LOVE Stone despite his pranks. Ridge acted a bit like a coward when it came to Anna 15 years ago and that wasn't great but I understood him so it did not bother me.
The sense of found family was strong here, especially in the series epilogue (that I recommend as well because it was the perfect series conclusion).
Final series ranking: 1) Nailed 2) Stripped 3) this one, 4) Screwed, 5) Caulky 6) Hardwood and I haven't read book 5 (I don't plan to).
I can't wait for the Big Bull series next year!

[2.4] the trope game in this is strong—best friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, only one bed!!—but it is with a heavy heart i give the final installment of the four bears series this rating. those who've been with me for a while know how much i thoroughly enjoyed each book irrespective of majority opinion, but the handling of the main conflict simply didn't work for me on multiple levels.

⚠️ this review will be filled with major spoilers so proceed with caution! ⚠️
.
.
.

- the way the main conflict was dealt with was a gigantic thorn in my side the entire book

let me set up the scene: 15 years ago, Ridge was set to marry Apollo's sister Anna and live happily ever after, but the night before the wedding, Ridge realizes in a somewhat drunken state that he's actually gay and burns rubber to get the hell away, leaving her at the altar. when he attempts to explain to Apollo why he'd left, Apollo responds with a punch to the face, moves out, and they never speak to each other again.

skip to present day, they're stuck fixing up a remote campground together for a month. the beginning consists of Ridge's numerous one-sided attempts to explain himself going sideways as the last thing Apollo wants to do is hear him out. Ridge laments that it's not fair for Apollo to punish him for this long and he should at least get a chance to say his piece. sensible enough, yeah?

but here's the thing, while i was certainly frustrated with Apollo for dodging any attempts at communication, i think he's fully justified in feeling the way he does. putting myself in his shoes, i can't imagine how much it had to have hurt for someone he essentially trusted with his life do that to his little sister. talk about a raging disappointment.

during their arguments, they basically get all up in each other's faces and then, because their lips are practically touching anyway, how about we violently snog instead 🙄 this happens twice before they finally sorta-but-not-really talk it out like the 40-something adults that they are. i personally think their first intimate scene should've been the one at the ~30% mark, because the lack of buildup and resolution early on cheapened the rebuilding of their relationship . (a word of warning, the sheer amount of making out/jerking off/penetrative sex in this was overkill for me personally 🙈)

but the above isn't even the crux of the problem. the fact that Ridge never thought in FIFTEEN years to even text an apology to Anna herself has me 💀💀💀 why is he so hell-bent on seeking forgiveness from Apollo when he really should be groveling at her feet, begging for mercy instead?? then when Apollo feels guilty for being with Ridge because he must be violating some Sibling Code out there, Ridge reassures him that they can get as frisky as they want because "Anna doesn't ever have to know." umm excuse me??? who do you think you are, sir???

skip to the end, Apollo shows up at his sister's (alone, mind you 😒) to confess what he did with Ridge, and i was sooooo frustrated by how gracefully she took the admission, because of course she just knew all along that he and Ridge had ~something special~. huh. and once Apollo receives his sister’s blessing, he and Ridge run off to get married the next day. awww what a beautiful, happy ending, amirite? ......that is, until you realize Ridge still hasn't apologized to the true victims (Anna and the rest of the family) of his rash decision face-to-face. just what kind of fairytale world have we found ourselves in?? 😩

i need an additional ocean's worth of groveling on Ridge's part, an alternate universe where Anna is the one who punches Ridge in the face, and maybe a few drinks to get through it all 😤

------

i could go into other aspects that didn't click with me (ex. didn't find the lack of boundaries on the other bears' parts as endearing as i normally would, the whole cat in labor but Ridge is too busy getting jealous that Apollo has the cute vet's number on his phone scene, etc.), but since the above is essentially the main plot thread, talk about only adding more salt to the wound.

i did appreciate how Ridge has always accepted Apollo's aloof & gruff caveman personality (counted 52 instances of variations of the word "grunt" lol) and his fear of spiders & ghosts was highly relatable, but that was the extent of my like for his character.

on a side note, the spider in an outdoor shower scene pretty much happened to me irl (more like i saw a black blur skitter across the shower wall because i’m practically blind without corrective lenses 🙈) but sadly no one came to my rescue 😔🤣

even though this was a miss for me personally, i would still highly recommend fans of the series to check out the short series epilogue at the link at the end of the book! a final hurrah where you can see where each couple's at, like a soothing aloe cream 😌 (*series in order from most favorite to least favorite: Screwed, Caulky, Stripped, Nailed, Stud, Hardwood, Drilled)

anywho, don’t mind me, i’m just gonna grunt my way home and wait for the spin-off Big Bull Mechanics series to come out next year *grunts*

(me eagerly waiting for Porter to get his hea:

“Nah.” He waves me off. “Thanks, but I’m officially over set-ups. I’ve already decided that I’m just going to marry the next big, burly dude who brings in a shoebox of orphaned bunnies.”

i don't know about you, but this set-up sounds kinda perfect 😍)

Perfect series ending

This was such a great way to end this series, funny, sweet, steamy and filled with all the great sense of family the other books have.

Apollo and Ridge were later entry characters to the Four Bears but that hasn't made them any less interesting.

I loved their second chance romance, the chemistry which bounced between them even when they were supposed to be 'enemies', the smexy times which are a little bit needy, a little bit rough.

It's got the rest of the Bears doing the usual Interference and meddling, it's got a cat and cute kittens and it's got one of the sweetest weddings I've read.

Now, please give Porter a hot dude with a box of orphaned bunnies, Tallahassee totally works for me there #JustSaying and the rest of the Big Bull Mechanics 😁

loved it! inconsistent series though

I loved loved loved this book. The chemistry was amazing, the story line original. Overall I enjoyed quite a few books in this series. But there were a few that really didn’t reach the level I’ve come to expect from this author. They were dull and unoriginal. Overall I would rate this series a 3.5/5

Rounded up from 4.5

I've read all but one of the Four Bears series, and I don't recall any of them having the same degree of desperation and reckless abandon when the two MCs come together. Drilled features friends to enemies to lovers with forced proximity, and it's as funny as the other books in the series, but I think it's the hottest.

Though the friendship and relationship are one-step-forward, two-steps-back, the physical relationship sizzles. I enjoyed watching Ridge and Apollo get to know each other again and get close again, and it was fun to catch up with the rest of the gang, even if they would drive me crazy after as little as an hour with them all.

If you've not read any of the series, you may can read this one as a standalone, but it would probably not be nearly as good.

Wisconsin. The prologue gives us a flash of years past, now, fifteen years later, the tensions are high. How will these two men handle being stuck together on a wilderness job for a month?
As the trip arrives, we see them work right away, because Apollo doesn't want to hear Ridge's apology. We see the spider incident, a leaky roof, and then how they handle a confrontation, and the truth is in their faces.
Ridge

Their attraction is fierce, long awaited passion is released, and wow, they are hot!
This wilderness camp is a tough job to remodel, while they talk, have meals, and work during the days, and campfires at night. They put sex off the table for awhile, but their deep thoughts and memories invade every day.
Apollo

Of course, their resolve fades and the sex is mind blowing.
We have more fun with the cats, the ghost, and the guys banter. One morning several vehicles pull up, and their peace is overrun. Then it's kayaking fun, another spider and more while the crew guys are all there.

These two, Ridge and Apollo are perfect together, but what about Apollo's sister? They will find out when they return home.
ENJOY !

Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers can be such a hard plot to write and do well, but Drilled really hit the nail on the head.

I was in love with Apollo all those years ago, and I’m in love with him now.

This is going to be a pretty short review for me, simply because I really enjoyed the book and anything more that I want to stay gives too much of the details away and moves into spoiler territory.

It’s certainly cliched at times or a trope we see over and over, but don’t fix what isn’t broken. If it works, it works, ya’ll.

I do think it may have been a little unrealistic in how Anna was with everything, but we got a HEA and that’s all that matters.

I had read most of this series awhile ago, and I’m sad that it’s come to an end but this book felt like a good romance to end it on!

Overall I would recommend!

A solid 4.2⭐ from me for this one.

In this series Caulky and Drilled are the best books, hands down.

I really liked this story.
Of all the books in the series I felt this one was the only one with depth . It had a little bit of angst, both MC's had foundation and have known each for most of their lives , so the developing love story between them was very believable.

🟡 Best friends-enemies-lovers
🟠 Gay awakening
🔴 Grumpy / sunshine
🟢 Forced proximity
🔵 Only one bed
🟣 Hot sex

Apollo works at Four Bears Construction. He's 40 years old, gay, he's held back, grumpy, doesn't talk much. He's big, tall, hairy, a total snack.

This was my Apollo. Yum, yum, yum.

Ridge is the latest hire and doesn't know Apollo is going to be his co-worker. Ridge is Apollo's former best friend and secret crush, who dumped his sister at the day of their wedding . After that, Apollo and Ridge ended their strong, amazing friendship and Ridge moved away.
They haven't seen each other for 15 years.

This was my Ridge. He's funny, lively, quirky... and also hairy and hot.

They end up working at a remote camp, renovating old wooden cabins and they have to stay there for a month. Together, alone, both not knowing that they were actually in love with each other...and still are.

So, the whole story really did it for me, it was beautifully developed, you could feel the friendship that was once there , the reluctant Apollo remembering his feelings and having Ridge in front of him now, when they're adults, knowing Ridge is now gay and actually likes him back, well... let's just say not only was I rooting for these two but the sex, the intimacy, everything was just amazing .

Things I totally liked?

🟣 Everytime they got together, fireworks
🔵 The way they slept together on one tiny bed, always pressed against each other
🟢 How Ridge simply got Apollo , they were really in tune
🔴 How adorably jealous Apollo got at times
🟡 How Apollo defended their right to privacy in front of the co-workers

Things I absolutely didn't like?

🟠 The Bears and their partners being all up in their business , pulling stupid pranks and making bets, talking about their private life like they're all a bunch of teenagers
🔵 How Apollo was willing to pull the plug on the developing relationship with Ridge because of his sister , even though what happened between her and Ridge was 15 years ago and even though he's never felt like this before and was still in love with Ridge

Yeah, that killed that one star down for me, for sure. It felt like their future together depends on what Apollo's family is going to say .
That was a little bit immature, because these two are over 40 years old and I think that a man who's spent his life only hooking up and wanting to find that person, but couldn't and then suddenly it happens - I'm not so sure that a man like that would just let go of that person , simply because his sister would mind.
No, it didn't seem like a moral dilemma to me, because the sister was already happily married with kids. And when she didn't mind them being together, Apollo ran to profess his love. Yeah, that absolutely didn't work for me , I kept thinking maaan, where are your balls, really? 😐
I was expecting him to say that even if his family is completely against them, they'll still stay together.

Anyway, the series ends here and what I got from reading these books are two things;

🟢1. The Big Bull Mechanics series is absolutely more to my liking.

🔴2. HAIRY MEN.
I have never in my life liked hairy men. I was one of those women that would tell the guy to shave it off, many women do that or they wax their men themselves and now that I'm that deep into m/m books and looking at tons of Pinterest boards of these men for my visuals for the books, it's safe to say that I really, really like hairy men. Every platform I'm on, there are tons of men praising other men's body hair and I've come to really like it.

So, I guess everything's good for something, even if the majority of the books in this series weren't up my alley.

Go read the Big Bull Mechanics, it's really good, first up is the cute veterinarian's story.

read in one sitting

Excellent second chance romance. From best friends to enemies to hate fucking that’s not really hateful to lovers to more…this ticks all those boxes

Apollo is actually grumpy, even when he’s happy, and I love that. I love that falling in love and being in love makes him happy, yet he’s still a grump.

Ridge is sunshine and sorrow and perfect light for Apollo’s grunting self. He’s determined to win Apollo back even if it’s their friendship only.

One of my favorite things was how much value they both put on their friendship. Their friendship was as important as their romance. There was a lot of talk about how painful it was for their friendship to end. That’s so important. Friendships that end should be mourned if they need to be mourned.

Great ending to a super fun series. If you need smiles and laughter and sexy times, Four Bears is a great way to spend some time.

Gahhh!!.. this may have been my favourite next to Caulky, and Nailed, and Screwed, and Stripped, I mean, I just love this series so bad!!.. I'm so sad the epilogue was the last of them, but it was all so sweet and amazing that I feel at peace <3.

I adore Apollo and his grumpy ass, with all of his noises and all, especially that!, and Ridge was not far behind, I love how he was just so hopeful and in love... these two make my heart happy.. plus, my Gaddd!, the level of hotness of this book was through the roof!.. I also burst out laughing so many times with them and the rest of the crew.

This just entirely worked for me. Call it formulaic, or trope heavy, or a bit cliched - I can’t disagree. But I also enjoyed the heck out of it.

- Best cats. Logs and co were a cute addition
- forced proximity restoring an old campground / fun setting
- best flip fucking scene I think I’ve ever read
- found family and hugs
- the dual narration was excellent - it never felt disjointed when switching narrators

I have to agree with other reviewers that not making a joke about Camp Morningwood was a lost opportunity.

Overall would recommend!

“Oh, you know, former best friend, responsible for my sexual awakening even though he doesn’t know it, unrequited love, hates my guts… tale as old as time.”

Two burly former best friends who have not spoken civilly in fifteen years and are now thrown together in seclusion for a month. What could possibly go wrong or maybe even right? Friends to enemies to coworkers to friends to more?

Apollo has been working at Four Bears Construction for a while. He is a stoic, quiet, surly, grunting bear who keeps his secrets locked down and is not exactly social.

His worst nightmare and biggest regret waltzes right in as a new construction worker in his firm. Ridge was his former best friend and young crush that committed an unforgivable betrayal in his eyes. No explanation would have been good enough so Apollo never let him even try.

Sunshine versus grumpy. Regret versus resentment. Secrets and miscommunication versus the unexpected truth. It's all about to get messy now as they work in a secluded location on a project. They will be forced to face the past, deal with each other in the present, and figure out if they can mean something to each other in the future.

I loved how Ridge just kept trying to figure out how to push Apollo back into a space where he could see how they still get along together. He is fun, adventurous, and sometimes silly. He owns his mistakes but he has to actually make Apollo be willing to listen. He could read Apollo like a book and speak Apollo-speak and interpret his grunts and groans. And he accepted him despite his broody ways. And there is more to Apollo under the surface that only Ridge has ever been able to tap into. Their bond never really was broken despite the hurt, time, and distance, and their chemistry is smoking hot.

But life in a bubble is one thing and the real world has some challenges. Their past still has the potential to cause issues.

This is a steamy, funny, heartfelt, former-friends, enemies-lovers, second chance, forced proximity story with two stubborn guys coming together but not sure if they can keep it together. It brings back all of the friends that I have come to love and they are just as nosy and pushy as ever. The additional epilogue just made me smile so big. I am so ready for the spin-off series as well. There are already a few guys I am hoping to see stories for.

Far too cliched for me.

Gay awakening when younger.
No chance to explain.
Angst when there doesn’t need to be.
Pining first each other.....

No thank you. Done and dusted at 16%

What a fantastic read! This last installment in the Four Bears Construction does not disappoint! Ridge and Apollo are fantastic! Their story is just heartbreaking then heartwarming and sweet! I love Apollo’s gruffness and how Ridge just “gets” him. This story is full of humor, pranks, and some definite steamy and hot moments! Very well written with a great storyline and amazing characters! Very highly recommend! Received arc and am voluntarily leaving an honest review

This was okay. I definitely enjoyed most of it, but the things I didn’t like stick out in my memory a bit more.

While present-day Ridge and Apollo were pretty wonderful for the most part, past Ridge was a piece of work. He was engaged to marry Apollo’s sister, but realised he was gay the night before the wedding and left her at the alter. Then never once tried to contact her to explain and apologise. Huh? How? Also, that whole setup made me uncomfortable. Ridge literally had sex with Apollo’s sister and was engaged to her. Blech.

Apollo’s constant refusal and running away got frustrating quickly.

The prank that Stone played on them was absolutely fucking cruel and harassment. None of the pushiness about whether or not Ridge and Apollo were fucking was funny, but that slid straight into absolutely not territory for me.

The only woman in the whole book’s entire personality is, you guessed it, (one of my biggest pet peeves!) solely being a mother. As if that is necessary to show she moved on and didn’t care about Ridge at all.

I don’t want to rate this too low, as I was entertained and read it all in a day. There were sweet moments, the sex scenes were super hot as per usual, and Ridge adopting the cats was amazing. I guess it’s worth the read but don’t get your hopes up.

Drilled is the seventh and final book in K.M. Neuhold's Four Bears Construction series. It's a forced proximity, second chance MM romance featuring friends-to-enemies-to-lovers. It's told from a first person, dual point of view with a guaranteed happily ever after. You can expect a low angst, steamy read with plenty of shenanigans from the entire Four Bears construction crew. It can be read as a standalone, but it's certainly more fun if you've read everyone's stories.

After a year, Apollo is finally settling into his job with Four Bears Construction. He has a place where he feels like he belongs. Until the new hire walks in. It's been over a decade since Apollo last saw Ridge, and he wishes he could just leave him in the past. Ridge knows he hurt Apollo and his family all those years ago, but Apollo doesn't want an explanation or an apology. Their latest assignment is spending the month renovating a remote campground, and although all their colleagues are taking bets on how long it takes for them to fall into bed together, Apollo is more interested in how long it takes before the kill each other.

“Oh, you know, former best friend, responsible for my sexual awakening even though he doesn’t know it, unrequited love, hates my guts…tale as old as time.”

It's always bittersweet when a series comes to an end, and I'm had such a great time reading this one. The books are all low angst, steamy, and funny. They're the perfect solution if you're trying to rebound from a book slump or just need something low stakes. Ridge and Apollo are the newest characters to the series, and although I wasn't quite sure what to expect from them based on the hostility they had towards one another in the previous book, their book was a fun, steamy read!

They definitely had some grumpy/sunshine vibes going on, but I loved how much Ridge just got Apollo instead of seeing him for the closed-off grump the rest of the world does. Their history was pretty intense, and involved being left at the altar, but I'm glad they were able to work it out even if it wasn't easy. The progression they had felt very natural and not too fast or too slow.

Neuhold was kind enough to give us a bonus epilogue at the end situated six years after the events of this book, and let me tell you, it makes my heart so happy to see the guys all living their best lives. Although I've started the Big Bull Mechanics series (technically it comes after the Four Bears Construction series), I'm excited to see glimpses of the Four Bears crew when I get back to it.

“I missed you.”
I turn my head to look at him, but he stares stubbornly at the sky. I want to tell him I missed him too and that he’d better not walk out of my life again because the last fifteen years were fucking torture. None of those words make it past my brain-to-mouth filter. Instead, I give a low grunt.
He chuckles and grabs my hand fully. “Aw, you big softie,” Ridge teases because he gets me. He always has.

A Wonderful Ending to this Series

I was sad when I found out this series was ending – it’s one of my all-time favorites – but I was not disappointed at all. This book was all the things I come to expect from the author, and I read the last word (including the epilogue and bonus scene), with a smile on my face, and a happy heart.

Apollo is a big gruff, surly, snarly, grunting Bear. He tends to keep to himself for the most part, even if he is starting to feel like more of the Four Bears Construction family. He knows he’s a grouch, and he owns it unapologetically. Why waste time with words when a grunt says it all.

Ridge is a big guy, full of smiles and sunshine, the polar opposite of Apollo. These two share history – I mean they go way back. Best friends for over twenty years, Ridge was set to marry Apollo’s sister – until he wasn’t. Self-discovery can be a wondrous, scary, crazy thing, and when Ridge realizes he may not be as straight as he thought, and he was about to walk down the aisle with the wrong sibling, he bolted. Losing his best friend and found family in the process.

When Ridge gets a job at Four Bears Construction, and he and Apollo see each other again after fifteen years, the sparks, snarls and bets are on. You can cut the tension with a knife between these two, and all the guys are taking bets on when they figure their stuff out and get down and dirty with each other. They are also taking bets on what happened between them, as both Apollo and Ridge are keeping their lips sealed about their history together and what happened.

A forced month’s stay, in the middle of the woods, on a job is just the thing these two need. They’ll either kill each other or end up in bed together. Finally.

I’d had a hard time in previous books getting a read on Apollo – what made him tic, why he was so surly, full of one-word answers, and a bit closed off. I can honestly say I’m now swooning over Apollo. He’s still the same growly guy, but he’s so much more. And Ridge – oh, the way this man can decipher every single one of Apollo’s grunts and growls was fantastic. Doing it all with a smile and humor, while stripping the man with his eyes.

These two sizzled together, and even though you know from the beginning they are meant to be together, from the time they were teenagers, I loved being on their journey to find each other again. They have a lot of things to clear up, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings. But when they do – Whew! Throw some water on me!

Of course, all the guys from previous books are here, causing as much laughter and mayhem as I’ve come to expect. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, and sweetness, and a little angst. I was really glad to see Porter make an appearance again and hope to see him in a future book/new series. This guy needs to find his man with a box of bunnies.

While this was the ending, this ending left me closing the book with a huge smile on my face. It was perfection, as always.

A perfect ending for the Four Bears Construction Series!!

I am sad this series is over, but I can't imagine a better ending than finding out exactly what happened between Ridge & Apollo...

Spending a month in a remote cabin with Ridge is the last thing that Apollo wants to do but with the overtime they are going to accumulate it is worth it, almost. More than a decade ago Ridge left his sister at the aisle breaking not only her heart but his own. Losing your best friend that way is impossibly hard but having to see him now every day is harder. Ridge wants to explain but there is nothing he can say that will make Apollo forgive him.

Leaving your best friend’s sister at the alter is a shit move but what else was Ridge supposed to do? He couldn't marry her when he finally had the epiphany that he was in fact gay. Over a decade later Ridge still beats himself up over the fact he hurt not just her but his best friend. Seeing Apollo again is harder than he ever expected it to be, now he not only has to work with him but spend a month alone with him repairing old cabins.

As Apollo & Ridge work through their struggles about the past there is something brewing under the surface that could lead them down a very dangerous path of much more than friendship. Ridge was the first boy that Apollo ever loved and all these years later that still rings true. While the love Ridge has for Apollo wasn't always there it has grown from the friendship, he has been missing for more than a decade. Can these two get over the failures of their past to remake a new future?

This book had everything!! Friends to enemies to lovers with some hilarious moments thrown in to sweeten the deal. Drilled might be one of my favorite books of this series and it was such a good ending for all the guys as well. Seeing all of them together through brief moments in this book was really the perfect goodbye to Four Bears Construction. Looking forward to her new series about the delicious mechanic Tallahassee, we met in the previous book who makes an appearance in this book too.

Every time I read one of the Four Bear Construction books, I get so happy. They all are like big soft cuddle teddies and I love every second of reading about them. I’m kind of sad that this is the last book, but just like all of the others, I enjoyed it immensely.

Apollo and Rich are perfect for eachother, even though when they begin the book, they want nothing to do with eachother… well more like, one of them doesn’t want anything to do with the other, but still!!!!

We got forced proximity, which isn’t my favorite trope, but I still enjoy it… we had friends to enemies to lovers, as well as a bit of second chance IMO. Each of KM’s books have different literary tropes, plus a lot of MLM action!!

I completely enjoy the fact that we also get some kind of cute cuddle animal in each of these books… well, bees, tortoise and snake are the cuddle type, but I’m sure someone thinks they’re cute!?!? A pregnant cat and kittens are the animal sidekicks in Drilled. It definitely shows the softer side of these burly construction workers.

I can not wait for KM Neuhold new series to start. Bring on the mechanics!!!!!

Drilled is a sweet and funny romance by KM Neuhold. The seventh book in the Four Bears Construction, it can easily be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed read in order.

Apollo and Ridge's story is heartwarming and absolutely riveting. I love these charming men and became addicted to their story from the start.

They're former best friends turned enemies, setting up a fun enemies to lovers romance. And as part of the construction team, you know there will be plenty of laughs throughout.

Poor Ridge was once engaged to Apollo's sister, but when he broke things off with her, he lost his best friend too. The poor man realized that he was gay the night before his wedding, and that he was in love with his best friend. Ouch!

Fast forward more than a decade and the two are stuck working together. Everything that follows is as good as you'd expect from this author and series.

The setting of an abandoned campground is great, with plenty of cabin and woods moments.

I absolutely love this big group of guys, and the way they set Ridge and Apollo up with a long stretch of formed proximity. The group of the Four Bears men and their significant others makes for non stop fun, banter, and antics. They definitely get each other into some HOT moments. Love it! Omg, I couldn't stop laughing at times.

Written in alternating first person pov, the author easily draws us into these men and their emotions. I'm usually uncomfortable with present tense, but KM is one of the authors who can write this way and still keep me riveted. Somehow KM writes without any awkward moments, which I find impressive.

Drilled is a perfect addition to this world of Four Bears Construction. I love every moment of this KM Neuhold story. And the ending is so good!

I'm so sad it's over! 😩
Drilled is the seventh and last book of the Four Bears Construction series by K.M. Neuhold. And I have to say it's one of my favorite's in the series.

Ridge and Apollo have a past. They haven't spoken in 15 years. Now they work side by side at Four Bears. Ridge wants to apologize to Apollo, but Apollo is not having it. Then they are sent to a camp ground to refurbish the cabins so the camp can be reopened. So they are alone in the woods with only each other.

It's a slow burn and the sexual tension is high with these two, but I loved reading them working things out. As with all the Bears books, there is very low angst and no drama in this book. It's a very easy read. I highly recommend the series and I can't wait to see what K.M. will give us next. I hear there are some bulls at a mechanic shop who's stories need to be told.😉

I'm not going to lie, I was nervous going into this one. The last book was a dud for me, and I wasn't sure how I would feel about this one. But thankfully, I really enjoyed it.

Apollo and Ridge have some great chemistry. And even when they weren't speaking to one another, I think all the guys could see it, which is why they sent them off on this project. Even if that's not why, it worked.

These two together weregreat. I loved how Apollo was always making small growls when his jealousy would hit. They were the perfect grumpy/sunshine pair.

Great way to end the series.

Simply the best in series

These two guys broke my heart with their back story. Fifteen years and they meet again. Thank the gods for the Four Bears Crew to get them to see the light.

As for setting them up on the job in the woods, perfect location. Just adored this whole series, but Apollo and Ridge have taken over the No. 1 Spot together, but Ridge is my favourite, such a fun, sunshiny guy.

Ahh, such a good conclusion to such a fun series! I'm gonna miss these guys but I'm hoping they'll make appearances in the Big Bull Mechanics series, which I'm starting next! I absolutely loved Ridge and Apollo's journey back to each other the way they were always meant to be. So very good. And the short bonus epilogue to the series was everything!

Perfect Ending to a Fantastic Series!

Happy sigh, I just loved this book! I was so curious how Apollo and Ridge's story was going to play out based on what we've gotten glimpses of so far and let me tell you as soon as the back story was revealed in the prologue I was all in!  I so enjoyed watching the gruff, grunting Apollo let his guard down and let Ridge in. This man that has known him so well for so long and who just gets him and knows him and loves him. I was so drawn to their connection from the start and the tension was palpable as Apollo kept trying to resist Ridge. The set up was great, their time alone together was so good, their passion was smoking hot and their conversations and banter were spot on.  There were so many laugh out loud moments, so many swoony moments, such great and super steamy chemistry...I just loved this from start to finish!  Add in the whole gang that we have come to know and love and this was just the perfect ending to a fabulous series! While I am sad to have to say goodbye to all these wonderful characters, KM Neuhold did a fantastic job of giving them all such a well deserved and satisfying ending. I am really looking forward to the spin off series with all the hot mechanics!

Okay, Apollo and Ridge are officially my favorite guys in the series. Cantankerous, easy going, difficult, afraid, teasing, playfully silly, sexy, and above all meant to be together.

I hadn’t expected to like the book as much as I did. The other personalities in the series were some pretty heavy competition, but Ridge and Apollo had me hooked from the beginning. The author always writes strong characters but I felt that these guys had such charisma together that the story just flowed. Well done!

I received an arc of this book.
