4 Star reviews of Calling Cassie (Alaska Blizzard #8) by Kat Mizera

This is friends to lovers Cassidy Reynolds and Alaska Blizzard Logan Pelletier’s story and although not my favourite in the series it was an entertaining read and a good addition to the series.
Cassie is 24 years old and has been married and divorced twice so she has certainly packed a lot into her young life. Now she is focused on getting her degree and the last thing she is looking for is a relationship. Paying for her education by stripping, Cassie is concerned that her friends may find out.

Logan isn’t looking for a relationship either and yet there is something in him that longs to find “the one”. However as their friendship develops it soon becomes obvious that the attraction that sizzles between them may be too intense to ignore.

It was so good to be back in Alaska with the members of the Blizzard hockey team as this has quickly become one of my favourite hockey series. The secondary characters were entertaining and it was wonderful to catch up with some familiar faces and see what has been happening in their lives.

Calling Cassie is amazing. I seriously loved this one so much. My heart is so full by the end of this one. Logan is a sweetheart despite his playboy past. He will just make you fall in love with him. Cassie is fantastic even through all her hot messes and stubbornness. Once you see her confidence build more and more you will just fall. I love the friendship that is between Cassie and Logan. They get each other and just share this connection you feel from the start. This friendship to more is wonderful to watch as it unfolds. I love how Logan is always trying to lift Cassie up and show she is more then her past. Cassie can be frustrating at times but you understand why she is as you really dig in deep and get to know her. Logan and Cassie are one of my favorite couples in the Alaska Blizzard series. All I can say is this is a hot read that will fill your heart and then some. Be prepared to the sexy hot love that is Logan and Cassie. I cannot wait for more to come of the Alaska Blizzard series. Go one click this one.

Both Cassie and Logan frustrated me at different times in this one. At the start it was Logan, with his whole, I don't do relationships, yet you could tell he was smitten with Cassie. I do like that Logan and Ryder came up with a way to help Cassie after they got her fired and it was beneficial to all of them. Towards the end of the book it was Cassie that drove me nuts! She let her mom get to her, gaslighting her due to her own fears and sadly Cassie bought it. I was unsure the big fix would work, was surprised when it did. I was glad when Cassie finally really let Logan in and he helped her with one last step. It was right for her to do and the choice she made afterwards was the right one. It gave her the clear way to live her life the way she wanted to.

Logan and Cassie are both not interested in relationships, but fate has other plans for them. Neither can deny the chemistry between them, and once they get to know each other, it’s hard to stay apart. But Cassie’s past comes back to haunt her, and neither of them are sure if they can get past it. I’d recommend this book.

Cassie and Logan

This one was a bit different but I really enjoyed it just as much. Cassie and Logan are really good friends and while they are attracted to each other neither one is looking for a relationship. Cassie has already had enough failed relationships in her life and Logan is having too much fun to settle down. Logan deep down wants more with her but he can't bring himself to tell her. The more time they hang out and spend together the more their relationship changes from friendship to more. Will long be able to show Cassie he really is all in though and that she should give him the chance ?

Got to see a few more the Blizzard guys, hoping Ryder gets a story next

Where should I start? Logan is the typical 23 year old playing in the NHL. He loves to party and has no desire for a relationship. Yet, when he least expects it a girl comes into his world as a friend of another player's girlfriend. In so many ways as you read the story you start to realize that Cassie is just like Logan in so many ways. Unlike Logan though Cassie is pulling herself in every direction possible to try and make it on her own. It is amazing to watch as the story progresses to watch Logan come to the realization that he is actually boyfriend material and Cassie to realize it is okay to lean on someone. Asking for support is not easy for Cassie but it was great to watch Logan not really ask her if she needed it but more just follow his instinct on what he thought she would need. Watching them grow into a couple was a great slow burn and showed how most relationships truly happen.

Calling Cassie is book #9 in the Alaskan Blizzard series by Kat Mizera. This is Logan and Cassie's story. They come into each other's lives and they become good friends and end up attracted to each other. Neither one was wanting a relationship. His reason- he was busy living his best life playing in the NHL. Her reason- She is too busy working, going to school and she already had enough failed relationships to last. She didn't want to worry that she'd date him and he might cheat. But never say never... these two roommates have chemistry like nobody's business. Can they overcome their fears, past hurts and misconception to get their HEA ?
This was a good read, had good characters plus reoccurring past characters make appearances. I liked the emotional rollercoaster bumps the story has which had me wondering would they or don't they. Great roommates/friends to lovers read 📚.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *********

Calling Cassie is a fantastic addition to the Alaska Blizzard series! I absolutely loved Cassie and Logan’s story! Both Cassie and Logan were against relationships. Cassie had enough to do with work, school and hockey. Logan was busy with the NHL. Soon they get to know each other and feelings develop. Cassie has had a tough life but Logan wants to make her life better. Calling Cassie is a heartwarming, entertaining and engaging story with a great storyline and fantastic characters!
It drew me in from the start and kept me reading until the end! I loved it! Thank you Kat for another great book! I can’t wait for the next one!

I am so glad to be back in Alaska with my favorite hockey team. Cassie and Logan’s story is a fun, friends to lovers romance with a little angst and emotion. I love that the author always gives us a glimpse of our favorite characters from previous books throughout this series. It makes it so much fun to read. This is a great escape from reality read that gives you a little bit of everything that makes a great romance.

I really liked this book. Cassie and Logan are really quite a pair and I adored them. The storyline was the perfect blend of entertaining and engaging and it had me eagerly reading during all my spare moments and truly rooting for these two give in to their emotions and grab for that HEA. If you want a fun story that delivers lovable characters and lots of feels, you've found what you've been looking for. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.

Captain of the women’s hockey team, Cassie Reynolds, of the Tudor College Mustangs is a small community women’s college in Alaska. She loves everything about the game. She is in her final year of playing hockey, the game she loves so much. She does have a lot on her plate though. She juggles college, practice, and games for college hockey, hockey for fun on Sundays, and works at a strip club on the weekends and sometimes during the week.

The book opens at the end of the game when she scores the winning point. In the audience, there is the loudest whistling ever for her to go along with the cheering. When she quickly looked up during the game, the first time she heard the whistling, it was Logan Pelletier from the Alaska Blizzard the Pro-Hockey team. When the game is over, her friend tells her that her friends are waiting for her. She’s happy, but she knows her next job is right after this. When she walks out there stands Ryder Kingston, a forward on the Blizzard, Charli Laassonen, the wife of one of the players on the Blizzard, and of course, she dragged along as many people as she could.

Cassie thanked them for going to her game. She teased Logan and asked if he could whistle any louder. He said he could try. Ryder told her that they were going out to a club if she wanted to go. She told them she needed to go because she was running late, and she thanked them again. Little did she know that she would see the guys plus a few more before their next game. Her next job paid extremely well, but it is not something she told very many people about. She could make on one weekend what she would have made working at her old waitressing job for the whole week.

Being late made her not put on full makeup, so when there is a problem with a customer on stage the guys, yeah you guessed it from the Blizzard. The one person that stood out and made direct eye contact with her was Logan. When the customer tries to yank her off the stage, being an athlete her whole life helps her. Her thigh muscles were what gave her the upper hand, but her stilettos and wig saved her. Especially with there being such a slow response time by the club's bouncers.

Leaving her exposed, angry, and shaken. Logan and the guys did stick around. Ryder and Logan talked about how bad the bouncer's response time was, and they hoped Cassie wasn’t hurt. They asked a waitress to take her a note. She said, she was okay but asked Logan to walk her out to her car if he could. The next day, Logan just showed up at the club after practice, had a few beers, and talked with her. Cassie saw something different in his eyes that was never there before she, never saw it before. She’s afraid to name it because they’re friends, but it almost looks like desire.

When the guys showed up at the club it was busy. So, she had to serve drinks, and, Bob was there, and because he is related to the owner, he is allowed leeway other men at the club don’t get. After he had attacked her the week before, the manager said that he was not going to be allowed back into the club. Yet, there he was saddling up behind her, asking for a lap dance, with her telling him she doesn’t do them and him telling her, Tony says you will for the right amount of money. Then Bob grabs and gropes her.

That's when Logan loses his cool and hits Bob. Getting him and the guys thrown out of the club, and Cassie is fired. After a week, the guys get her to move in because they need help with Ryder’s dog Coco, and taking in their dry cleaning. Which means Cassie gets some breathing room. But the spark between her and Logan burns brighter. Such a sweet yet sizzling romance.

Cassidy/Cassie was a character you just want to see have something happen for her. She’s just 24, but her life up to this point has been full of disappointment and heartbreak. But, she’s still fighting to get ahead and working hard, going to school, studying, playing hockey for the junior college’s team, and occasionally hanging out with friends. She’s definitely not looking for a relationship.

Logan is an up and coming hockey star for the Anchorage Alaska based NHL team the Blizzard. He is living the good life enjoying casual sex with willing hockey groupies and nothing more. He and his teammates have been casual friends with Cassie since she became friends with the WAGs.

They both try to suppress and ignore their mutual attraction, and Logan’s protective actions in trying to physically defend her from a creep ends up getting her fired from her job in a local club. Logan and his roommate offer to have her live in with them rent free and only ask her to help take care of Ryder’s huge puppy who is a handful when they are in road trips or have late nights for home games.

Roommates with a growing attraction leads to a secret sexual relationship that becomes more relationship than either of them anticipated. When feelings become part of the equation, past hurts cause an overreaction to occur and both end up hurt. The road to a HEA for two individuals without any relationship experience that hasn’t ended in disaster is a bumpy and winding road.

Several characters from past books in the series appear and interact with the storyline which I enjoy. Each book by Kat Mizera is like visiting a group of longtime friends.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Based on the preview for the next book in the series, I’m excited for its release.

Cassie is twice divorced and not looking for a relationship. She is concentrating on playing hockey and getting a college degree while stripping to pay her bills. Logan is a hot shot hockey player for the Alaska Blizzard who is enjoying his fame and bachelor life. Logan and Cassie are friends, but Logan is shocked when he sees Cassie is the stripper he and his friends had been watching at the new club they were frequenting. Logan finds himself wanting to spend time with Cassie to get to know her better. Logan feels guilty for getting Cassie fired when he punches a guy who gets to handsy with Cassie at the strip club. Logan and his roommate, Ryder, offer Cassie a place to stay rent free if she will help with Ryder's dog when they are on the road or have late night home games. Cassie and Logan try to fight their attraction to each other but give into their unbelievable chemistry. Can Logan convince Cassie that she is the one that makes him want to settle down? Will Cassie push Logan away because she is unwilling to move past her past? Can Cassie move past her father leaving and not wanting a real relationship with her? Can Logan be there for Cassie when she really needs him? I LOVED Callie Cassie by Kat Mizera. Cassie and Logan are a great couple who have explosive chemistry. I love how Cassie and Logan started out as friends, and their relationship and chemistry grew. I also love how Kat Mizera uses characters from her previous books to interact and help the main characters within their story. I would highly recommend getting Callie Cassie and all the other books in the Alaska Blizzard series by Kat Mizera. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.

Cassie is smart, sassy and independent, but definitely unlucky in love. Logan is at the top of his game and loving life as a confirmed bachelor. They start as friends, but suddenly Logan is seeing Cassie in a different way and feeling things for her he shouldn't be. Friends become friends with benefits and then so much more. But Cassie is fragile when it comes to affairs of the heart and with her mom continually reminding her they are both cursed in love she panics. Can Logan convince Cassie to stay or is he meant to be a bachelor forever?

I loved how strong and independent Cassie was. She works hard and is loyal and willing to do what she needs to in order to finish school and succeed in life. She is also done with love and relationships . . . until Logan sneaks his way into her heart.

And, Logan is nowhere near ready to settle down but there is something about Cassie that makes him want to. She is the first woman he just enjoys spending time with. They have so much in common and become even closer friends before taking those next steps.

I adored the friends to lovers aspect of Calling Cassie as well as all of the advice from friends and teammates tossed at both Cassie and Logan. It was a great way to catch up with some of our favorite characters from prior books in the series. This couple burned hot! Cassie and Logan were passionate and a lot of fun. 4 stars.

This is book 8 in the series and is a stand alone hockey romance that takes place in Alaska. It features playboy and 23 year old, Logan and 24 year old, college student, hockey player and stripper, Cassie who works as a stripper to pay for college.

These two hang out and share friends and are very casual friends. All that changes one night when Cassie is attacked on stage and her stripper disguise is exposed to Logan and his friends. They form a friendship and eventually she ends up as a roomie with him and Ryder and Coco. I loved how awesome they all were as roomies.

Cassie and Coco were my absolute favorite characters in this book. Cassie is a strong woman with clear goals and is a twice divorcee. She is now about making something of herself and avoiding men romanticly. I loved her and how independent she is. I think she is one of my absolutely favorite heroines in this entire series. I really love that the author writes such strong and awesome women characters in her stories.

I also liked Logan a lot. I loved how he had to fake pretend to be this playboy when all he wanted to be was hang out with Cassie. Once he opens his eyes and sees how awesome Cassie is well I fell hard for him just as Cassie does.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Calling Cassie is the 9th book in the Alaska Blizzard Series by Kat Mizera. I’ve read book one, but no other book in this series. Twice divorced Cassie is stripping her way through college, trying to pay the bills and keep the debt down. But when one of her hockey buddies get her fired, he steps up with a roommate offer that she just can’t turn down. Over time, an attraction between the two starts to grow, but as these two relationship-shy people dip their feet into a relationship pool, will their relationship survive their insecurities?

This was a really good read! The story moved quickly and it was well written. The chemistry between Logan and Cassie was slow to start, but evolved rather quickly once they moved in together. Cassie’s past relationships combined with her abandonment issues from her dad make her a prime candidate in the insecurities department. She has long had to take care of herself and is slow to rely on anyone. Logan wasn’t looking to start a relationship, but can’t deny his attraction for hockey playing Cassie. Overall, a good read and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the next one in the series!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another amazing book to this series.
Calling Cassie is the 9th book in the Alaska Blizzard series and each book keeps getting g better and better. This one centers around hockey star and self-confirmed bachelor Logan Pelletier, and fiercely independent who was left smarting to two divorces by 23, Cassie Reynolds. Neither have had an amazing track record when it comes to relationships which has caused them to approach each other in such a cautious manner – friends first, maybe friends-with-benefits, with no expectations for more. But can they be more?

Kat takes us along on their journey and it is filled with the ups and downs, the highs and lows that face every relationship. I always love how she weaves the other characters from the Blizzard team into the storyline. As Logan’s and Cassie’s storyline develops, it had some amazing twists and turns as each of these characters grew not only within themselves but together. Kat Mizera is such an amazing author and truly writes from the heart and this is just another wonderful installment to the series.
Another must read and one that I highly recommend.

5 Stars for Calling Cassie ( Alaska Blizzard #8)
I love my visits to Alaska and I have to say I fell hard and fast for Logan Pelletier, in fact I will go as far as saying this is my favourite so far in this great series.
Cassie Reynolds hasn’t had much success when it comes to love at only 24 she finds herself twice divorced and now she is determined to focus on getting her degree, she is not looking for a relationship and to make ends meet and pay for her education she turns to pole dancing.
Logan is a player on and off the ice but deep down he is a man looking for love and from the moment he meets Cassie he knows she could be the one. What follows is a friendship that soon turns into so much more but will Cassie trust her heart one more time….
This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned, I sighed, I smiled, I giggled as I watched these two get to know each other. It was wonderful being back with the Blizzard and Calling Cassie is the perfect addition to this series. I highly recommend this gem to all romance lovers.

Kat Mizera hits it in the net with CALLING CASSIE (Alaska Blizzard #8). This is Logan Pelletier’s and Cassidy Reynolds’ story. Cassie is friends with Tara Laassonen from TENDING TERA (Alaska Blizzard #7). Cassie is a student at Tudor College where she plays hockey. Unknown to her friends, she is also a stripper at a local club. That is until they come into the club one night and her friend, Logan discovers her secret.

Calling Cassie and a heartfelt and entertaining read. Cassie has had a tough life. She is a strong heroine who has endured a lot. Logan is a great character that is perfect for Cassie. I love that Cassie and Logan start out as friends, and that it develops into more. Something that neither one of them was ever expecting.

The plot was skillfully executed and realistic. CALLING CASSIE is an excellent addition to the Alaska Blizzard series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy friends to lovers’ romances and/or hockey romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hot, handsome, confirmed bachelor Logan has finally met his match. It's always fun to watch a man who says he never plans to settle down crumble to his knees. Though I will say Cassie put him threw the wringer. I loved Logan and was so-so with Cassie. She was a mess. She was stubborn to a fault but only 24 and already twice divorced. She thought she was cursed when it came to men. She just hadn't met the right one yet (or she had but didn't realized what was right in front of her). These two start out as friends and after Cassie's emotional breakdown start something more. As I said I loved Logan and was so-so with Cassie. She was an emotional hot mess letting her past control her. There were times I wanted to smack her, especially when get friends and mother were trying to talk sense to her.

I enjoying this book though it wasn't my favorite of the series. It was just wonderful watching Logan fall in love ❤

Logan and Cassie have been friends for awhile. Bonding over hockey and sharing so many mutual friends makes their friendship easy and natural. When Logan causes Cassie to wind up in a bad financial position, he and his roommate Ryder come up with a way to help. Cassie moves into an extra bedroom and officially becomes Ryder’s puppy’s caretaker. It helps them out while also helping Cassie, since she won’t let them assist in any other way. After some time living together Logan and Cassie’s friendship naturally advances to another level, they cannot deny nor resist the attraction they both feel. What follows is a steamy and romantic path where each of them must come to terms with who they used to be and who they want to be in the future. They must both learn to trust not only one another, but themselves. An emotional journey full of some seriously passionate moments will have readers wishing they had a relationship like Logan and Cassie’s!

Cassie, the college hockey player and Logan the professional hockey player with the Alaska Blizzard are friends that hang out occasionally. They are attracted to each but neither is looking for a relationship. Logan just wants to have fun and Cassie at 24 has two divorces behind her. When Cassie loses her job with Logan's help, Logan and his roommate Ryder come up with a plan to help her out. Said plan puts Cassie and Logan in close contact often, will they be able to fight their attraction?

I adored Logan and was rooting for him to get his woman. Cassie has not had the best of luck with men (ex-husbands and her father) so she is resistant to give it a go with Logan. Add in Cassie's mom who also has issues with men and it seems like Logan and Cassie will be over before they begin.

I loved watching Cassie and Logan grow as people and as a couple. It was also great to check in with other Alaska Blizzard couples. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Cassie hasn’t made the best choices when it comes to the men in her life, and she has the divorces to prove it. She is focused on completing her education and playing hockey for the college team. She chose her occupation out of necessity and would prefer that Logan and her friends didn’t know but once the secret is out it changes everything.

Logan is a professional hockey player who didn’t realize he was looking for love until he realized that being just friends with Cassie wasn’t enough. Now that he sees what they could have together he is determined to show her that he is the one man she can count on to be there for her.

It is understandable that Cassie’s past has made her cautious, but I enjoyed seeing Logan break through her walls and help her heal from her past and as a bonus we get to catch up with the other Blizzards we know and love.

I guess I may need to move to Alaska because every time I open a book from Kat Mizera and the Blizzard it is like coming home.
Logan is one of the single playboys on the team. He really is a good guy but relationships are not his thing. He and Cassie have been friends for a couple years but that is all there is between them.
Cassie has had it rough and has decided she is going to pave her own way through this world, no emotional entanglements. She loves her friends in the Alaskan Blizzard as well as playing hockey for local community college. She has a plan for her education and life. If only Fate would stop intervening and forcing her to change those plans.
The opportunity arises putting Cassie in the same house as Logan and another member of the Blizzard. Being in such close quarters tends to bring so many emotions to light.
These two will have you laughing and loving and even crying but in the end, your heart will be soaring!

Cassidy is attending a community college and is captain of their hockey team. She is friend with a few of the players on the Blizzard hockey team, plus their wives and girlfriends. Since she is 24 and twice divorced, she is not interested in any relationship, preferring to plan to transfer to a four year university.

Logan is a star player on the Blizzard's team, and at 23 he is enjoying the single life, plenty of women, parties, and good times. He and Cassidy are friends with similar opinions on getting serious. Until the lines get blurry.

I liked Cassidy's focus on her future, getting an education and then finding a career. She has worked hard to get to where she is. And Logan was just an all around nice guy, I really felt he could do no wrong.

I received an eARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Cassidy is a strong, independent, twice divorced, 24 year old, college student, hockey player who works as a stripper to make ends meet. Logan is one of the famous Alaska Blizzard's star players who prides himself that he has avoided commitment and has a reputation as a bit of a playboy. Cassidy and Logan are friends, but when Logan and his friends show up at the club that Cassidy works in, his view of her starts to change and he starts to see her in more than just friendly terms. This slow burn romance really starts to sizzle after Cassie moves into Logan's house to help with Coco the dog, and although they try to fight their attraction they become almost combustible. It is a standalone novel, but catching up with some of the other characters from earlier books in the series was a lot of fun.

Highly enjoyable friends to lovers story! Kat Mizera delivers lots of sass with book nine in her Alaska Blizzard hockey series and I loved every minute of it! The characters were quick to catch my attention and had me invested in their chemistry throughout. Looking forward to more in this super fun series!

Logan is fun loving and sincere and loves hockey and having a good time. He's not looking for a relationship, but have Cassie in close quarters certainly brings temptation to life!

Cassie is an all around great person who has been handed a crappy hand a few times in life. It's heartwarming to watch her let her guard down just a little with Logan and even Ryder.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves a hockey romance filled with hunky men and lots of laughs and sexy times around each corner.

If you love a good hockey romance than you are in for twice the treat with Calling Cassie! Not only are we getting one hockey player but two.
This book is a fantastic addition to the Alaska Blizzard series and a perfect combination of characters that are easy to like and a storyline that will keep you engaged from the beginning to the end.
Logan plays for the Blizzard and Cassie is finishing up her college hockey time only to be asked to be the assistant coach for her old team.
