On the fifth day of the fifth month, there is so much to celebrate! Boats race to the beat of the drums in the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival. Japanese carp flags wave in the wind for National Children’s Day. And women soar on the swings during Dano in Korea.
In this third book in the Asian Holidays series, children will learn about the different foods, festivals, and family customs that make the Double Fifth celebration special.
Read for my toddler's early wake up because she slept earlier than usual. This book discusses about 3 celebrations following the lunar calendar. 3 different celebrations in 3 countries: Dragon Boat Race in China, Children's Day in Japan, and Korean Dano Festival. Interesting celebrations for kids to be aware of.
A nice little children's story about 3 different celebrations in China, Japan and South Korea. Love the illustrations! A wonderful book to have in a classroom.
This story is so beautifully written and kids will understand what is exciting about each countries festivals! It was fun to learn all about the different activities for the day and the foods that are associated with the event as well! The colors and brush strokes of the illustrations were so mesmerizing!
A lovely little book that is a fantastic introduction to the 3 different celebrations. Charming illustrations and a fantastic primary classroom resource!
I liked that it shows a snippet of several Asian children’s celebrations. Was looking for a book on fish kites for my art unit that was written from an Asian perspective and this works well.
Love the book. Really enjoyed the story of the celebrations. The illustrations are so detailed and beautiful. Children will learn so much from this book.
