This is the 5th installment of the series. Not my favorite novella. At the beginning of it I found the language too grotesque compared to the previous books and believe it is good when you as an author know how to use it cleverly.

The story perse was alright but I didn’t find anything special, so it took me longer than expected to finish a relatively short book. I think that maybe the story didn’t work for me was because there were many things, big things, life changing things, happening at the same time and not enough length to cover all of them properly. In addition, the attraction was not convincing at the beginning of the book and the connotations made about straight women were kinda off for me.

Happily ever after included.

This romance was not for me. It was choppy and did not flow well. The mains were okay at best because of the way this romance read. I was almost a DNF but really wanted to know what happened so I browsed through to the end to see for myself. 2.5 stars at best.

Emily Hayes has brought us another sexy & sapphic medical romance.
Ruby is an actress shadowing surgical resident Alicia in preparation for a role in a medical TV series.
The chemistry between the assertive Ruby and the innocent but eager Alicia create some incredibly hot encounters. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Another Great Addition!

Just like the previous stories this one also did not disappoint. And just like each story read, you can’t help falling in love with this couple. The story of Ruby and Alicia was told in Emily Hayes usual style. You have a queer woman who is extremely attracted to a straight woman. A straight woman who hasn’t a clue who she is or what she she wants to do in her life but she wants Ruby. Her parents own the Forest Vale Hospital plus they were top surgeons. Alicia was a surgeon intern as her father expects. Everything she does is to make her father happy. Even if she is not. Ruby is an actress who is going to be joining the top medical show on tv and with the director and the owner of the hospitals permission, she gets to shadow an intern, Alicia. This makes for a very interesting situation and suddenly they both are feeling things they never did before. Great addition to the series.

Steamy but emotional

Normally I review Emily's books as steamy and hot but this was more sweet, romantic, tragic and hot. It felt almost a slightly different pace. Regardless though - it worked!

Two women meet in the hospital but isn't the good doctor straight? She doesn't stand a chance of continuing to think she is against the stunning Ruby.

Both characters have passion, backstories and emotion which really bring them alive equally - I couldn't say I was drawn to one more than the other.

Loved it!

4 stars. A bit too melodramatic but I still liked it just off the strength of the main characters and their romance. Ruby and Alicia were great together. I empathized with Alicia as she was afraid of ever disobeying her father but I loved that big blow out between them towards the end. I do wish we would’ve seen him actually accept Alicia because the epilogue was a bit jarring. The romance between Ruby and Alicia was drama filled and kept me interested because I liked their chemistry. This was good, not a favorite but one that I did enjoy.

Enjoyable read

Straight woman Alicia, surgical intern, daughter of the owner of the hospital has to have Ruby, actress, shadow her at the hospital and stay in her guest bedroom. I gave it 4 stars because of the implausibility of the father going from being homophobic to completely accepting in a short amount of time. Enjoyed seeing some of the characters from previous books in the series.

Be who you want to be
That's the main message of this book, and I really like it! Beautiful main characters with an eventful past or a difficult family with great expectations.
Ruby is so hot with all the tattoos and her confidence, but I also really liked Alicia even though she's the shy and insecure one.
I have a soft spot for the shy.
The chemistry between the two is sizzling and the hot scenes are hot, hot, hot!
Another great book by Emily Hayes

wost book in all 5. i'm sorry to say, ym main gripe is the compleat 180 from alicea's homeaphobic
father without any recriminations from alicea the least we could expect would be a period of reflection
from her father, i wasn't convinced by the two mains either, her mother was a moron who didn't have a mouth of her oun or indeed opinions other than to backup her husbands homophobic opiions,
i'll say one more thing why oh why didn't she cut and run.

Sweet Story

This is a sweet story about finding love where and when you least expect it. The author does a good job of getting you into the mind of Alicia and Ruby. She also shows how you must live for what makes yourself happy, not conforming to others opinions of what they think you should do. Good job!

Very good book

Never read a book by Emily Hayes I didn’t like. Her books never fail to be hot. The stories and the characters are solid. You find yourself yelling at one to stop wasting her life as a Surgeon. Her father is overbearing and really hard to like. But there’s always a HEA.

Love story

This love story was àbout more than the love between two women. It was about loving one's self and following your dreams. The message was so important. And the presence of all of those strong lesbian role models was key. Thank-you for putting that message out there for us to see.

Goid book

I good story. Alicia is manipulated by her father in everything she does. When Ruby is sent to Forest Vale hospital to follow along an inter surgeon for a movie that she is acting in. When they start having feelings for each other Alicia's father is extremely upset and threatened to disowning her. A great read see what happens

Back to Forest Vale

What a beautiful love story! I think this is the best Forest Vale romance so far. Couldn't put it down before I had read it!

The insecurities and heartache, an overpowering father, and finally the sweet release and happy ending.
