But my most favorite parts in this book and the series is JenniFur 🐈‍⬛ she's The Is talking cat who likes wine... also loves to Eat...


Nell, and Her friends have more detective work to find out what happened to detective Caspian... These books are always so good very hard to put down from the moment you picked them up.

This is the third book in the MenoPaws Mysteries Series. I have read this series in order. I would encourage you to read the series in order because there are paranormal pieces that are slowly given out in each book. The mysteries are actually complete so you can choose to read out of order.
Nell and, my favorite talking cat, JenniFur are back. Detective Cole is missing and a murder needs to be solved. A new character arrives, Harriet, Detective Cole’s niece. It was fun having a teenager in the mix. I love the fun yet chaotic energy when all the friends get together. It feels like being with a diverse group of real life friends and makes the pages fly by. The mysteries have a few suspects to choose from. I enjoyed uncovering new details about the Seelies. I really like how they can have different talents that make them unique yet all are important.
The series is set in Australia. I find this fun as I am in the US. Please keep in mind that spellings of some words are different between the two countries so it isn’t typos you are seeing. Ms Best provides a fun glossary in her books that will add color to your vocabulary. I always check out the glossary for phrases and words to learn.
If you are looking for a fun, fast paced magical mystery, I recommend this one. It will have you laughing while you search along for clues.

When Detective Caspian Cole takes Nell to meet his niece.
A normal precocious teenager,
he runs back out to the car to bring in some more things from the store.
After a few minutes, Nell goes to look for him only to find a broken bottle of wine on the ground and his cell phone under his car.
For some reason, Nell is the only one who believes something is wrong.
It seems Cole has been kidnapped, and it may have something to do with a book that was borrowed from the hidden room in the bookstore.

This was a fun story with developed characters, and a baffling cast that somehow manage to pull together and get the job done in the end.

Start from Scratches is the 3rd book in the MenoPaws Pararnormal Womens Cozy Mystery Series by Morgana Best. This series is so good! I couldn't put this book down!

Detective Cole is Missing! Nell is quite concerned as he left his 13 year old niece behind so she is worried something nefarious has happened.

Nell and her gang search to find Detective Cole, and yet there is another murder in town that adds to the mystery.

The characters in this book are so well written. More secrets are revealed which I was really excited about. JenniFur (talking cat) is such a great character. She always wants to eat LOL.

The mystery was well written and I had no idea who the culprit was until the very end.

Morgana Best is a master story teller . I highly recommend this book and the entire series!

Start from Scratches is the third book in the MenoPaws Mysteries Series by Morgan Best and I loved this book. Nell is back along with her sassy cat, JenniFur. Detective Cole has goes missing after he introduces his niece, Harriett to Nell leaving a mystery to be solve. Nell then gets a call from Edison saying telling her Emerson Mortcombe is dead and someone has killed him with "Old Magic." What is "Old Magic?" Is the missing of Detective Cole and Emerson connected? It looks like this wonderful group of friends have another mystery to figure out! I enjoyed learning more about the Seelies and the difference between the Summer Court and the Night Court.

The setting if this story is in Wild Lime Mountain in Australia. I really enjoyed the differences from the slang from Australia and the US where I'm from. I can't wait for the next book! I was given a ACR of this book for my true and honest opinion.

Once again the zany wit of author Morgana Best has me laughing at the wonderful world she has created on Wild Lime Mountain. Nell and her human-changed-into-a-cat JenniFur, along with Edison, Daphne, and Delilah, are faced with another murder, a missing Police Detective Cole (Caspian), plus being responsible for the thirteen year old niece of Detective Cole who was visiting him when he went missing. Yikes!

As these wonderful characters interact and unusual magic abounds, there is some doubt that they will ever solve the murder and the mystery. Heck, they don't even know how to deal with a thirteen year old! You won't be disappointed in reading this hilarious story with surprises and a twist that you won't see coming. (Pun intended-read the book and figure it out for yourself.) I loved it!

This was another great book in this series!! Detective Cole is missing, and it’s clear from the start he’s been kidnapped. I usually don’t like mysteries where there is a kidnapping, but a murder also takes place.

I was quite worried for Caspian the whole time, especially since the police weren't doing much and there was some paranormal involved. I had a feeling the cleaning lady was involved, she was sketchy and there was something that didn’t sit right. It was such a nice idea to have her make an illusion to hide signs of her magic and Caspian, and also I liked how in the end they had to have JenniFur guiding them to find him as she was the only one not affected by the illusion.

I am quite sad I am caught up with the series, and I really hope for a new instalment soon!

Nell is asked by from Detective Cole regarding his niece. Nell is concerned when he doesn't come back, he disappeared. She is the only one that seemed to be concerned. Nell gets a call from Edison about a murder, he needs to talk to her immediately. Nell finds out about the murder and the book. She knows the two events are tied together, she is determined to get to the bottom of it.

This was a fun story to read. You will enjoy the all the character especially Jenni-fur. This book will be a nice escape from the world. Recommend reading it.

Nell is frantic when Detective Cole goes missing. A man has been murdered and it looks like Detective Cole might be next. His niece Harriet is there for a visit which added a fun new element to the series. Jennifur the talking cat, Daphne, Delilah, and Edison all help Nell solve the mystery. This is such a fun series, and this book didn’t disappoint. I received an advance readers copy of this book and I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Well, if I had to tell you my favorite character in thise series, it’d be JenniFur. JenniFur is a talking cat and she reminds me so much of one my own cats, it’s always food o’clock! Not that my own cat can talk, ha, wouldn’t that be awesome! It’s a sort of happy chaos, this story. Fun and entertaining. We get to know the characters better and better. Yes, now I can’t wait for the next installment!

Nell and the gang are back in the third installment! Caspian runs to Nell for help with his niece. While there, he disappears and no one saw or heard anything…around the same time a man was murdered! The LOL somewhat PI group have a new adventure and this time they are bringing Caspian’s niece along for the ride! Uncovering rare powers and Fae language is something that seems to be one key element to saving Caspian and figuring out who the murderer is! Will they find him in time?

For some reason, Nell is the only one who is very concerned about Detective Cole’s disappearance. The rest of the group seem to think he just went on vacation. We are introduced to Harriet, Detective Cole’s teenage niece. I enjoy learning more about the Seelies and their interactions. Another delightful story!

Just finished reading book 3. It was a fast, funny, and enjoyable read. Emerson has died of so called natural causes, but the gang knows better especially when a rare book of magic is gone. Not only that but Caspian has vanished in thin air! The gang must solve it fast before the Old Magic book can be translated by the murderer. Can JenniFur stay sober long enough to help?

There is more information revealed about the characters and as per usual, there is humour in this book. JenniFur always makes me laugh!

I love this series, but the ending just didn't make any sense to me. If the story had ended when Caspian was rescued, it would have --- but adding the tennis lesson at the end just confused me. And this is supposed to be the last one of the series? Oh well, really enjoyed the books, but not the ending of this one...

The ending totally cracked me up! I enjoyed the whole book, but seriously, that ending! Lol! JenniFur and Nell are hysterical together. The fact that no one else can hear JenniFur speak just makes it all that much funnier. Delilah’s tin hats, even at a funeral, just crazy! I loved it!

Fun Series

I enjoyed the latest in this paranormal cozy series. It’s a fun read and moved the relationships among the characters much further along. Clever mysteries and quirky situations…what’s not to love. Ready fort he next installment.

This is a great/fun series for those of us over thirty! Set in a small town in Australia with a lot of magic going on, there is murder and more afoot. The characters had me laughing my sox off even before the goings-on got going! Come for a cosy mystery and stay for all the laughs!
