An amazing romance! One of the first books I read and I loved it. Zack is so romantic in his pursuit of Traci. At times I thought she was a strong opposite to his personality. Everything was well organzied in the book and I love that their story was realistic. This author is amazing!

Member of local gym, Make You Sweat, Traci Wells, goes for her own well being as well as to try and get her sister out of her funk at home. When she finds herself starting to make eyes at one of the members, she surprises even herself - as he is definitely not her type and secondly she has too much on her plate to start thinking of any sort of involvement.

From the moment Zack Drace sees Traci he is fascinated by her, however used to women approaching him, he sits back and almost misses his chance. With business not going as expected, he quickly passes on the responsibility of sorting it out to his older brother, to not only give him the freedom to do other things, but also give Traci the attention and care she deserves.

However when the old adage never mix business and pleasure, becomes true in his case – he has to decide who or what is more important to him.

First in the DRACE BROTHERS series, Ms. Rochelle introduces us to the Drace family with its four boys, all going through various stages of life. A closely knitted family, they confide in each other about almost everything and takes onboard each others pain and celebrate each others victory.

This first outing is dedicated to Zack the businessman and Traci the nurse who wants and is capable of so much more. Both protagonists are quickly attracted to each other but are caught up in the middle of family prejudices and their own personal demons.

Traci is a likeable character, feisty with a take no prisoner sort of attitude, but also scared and reluctant to do anything to undermine the relationship she has with her sister.

Zack is smart, funny and a take charge sort of guy; he however knows when to ask for help and to respect the boundaries of a situation –even when he can’t really understand it. Zack’s strength lies in the support he gives to his family and the unending encouragement that is always there for those he loves.

I'm not really happy with this book so-far....I seriously don't know why I continue to give this author a chance. So far I purchased just about everything she’s released and I’m still not happy.
Maybe it’s the hope that the “good ideas” will read better each time. Come on with the editing already...geez!

I had a really hard time with this book. Tracie got on my nerves a lot with her over reacting and Zack drove me crazy because it seemed like all he did through out the story was apologize to Tracie when what he really needed to do was find someone else! I also felt like the "pet names" were an over abundance to the point that I found myself rolling my eyes quite often when the two were talking to each other. There were a lot of grammer issues and misspelling. For the price of the book I expected no issues in that area and was surprised to see it so many times. That being said, it is hard to not read the next book in this series because I am intrigued with the other brothers in the Drace family. More so with Lee Drace and Cherise. I am hoping book II will not let me down because it will be horrible for me to have wasted my time and hard earned money on another boring book.

There are some authors that have a case of thesauritis. This book had the worst case I've ever seen. Every phrase had to have two or three adjectives at all times. Instead of saying that the hero was stroking the heroine's cheek, the description had to go on and on about her satiny, soft, sweet, lovely, cocoa-colored, beautiful, gorgeous brown skin. You get the idea. It could have been about 50 pages shorter if the editor eliminated the overuse of adjectives and it would have been a good story. The protagonists were unobjectionable and the conflict was believable. There was an adequate amount of steam between the hero and heroine, but the laborious descriptions made me run out of steam.

3.0⭐️ ZACK--JUST WHAT THE HEART CRAVES!
Originally reviewed on March 27, 2010 —Only in Trade size Paperback
This book was totally engrossing, and the characters were very well fleshed out. I don't think Ms. Rochelle skimped on anything. Zack was the type of man every woman, no matter the color, really craves--a caring, loving, attentive man, a phenomenal kisser and lover. His 3 brothers each had their own personalities-alpha, beta and just plain fun-loving (I won't reveal who was what). The two sisters were nothing alike; Traci, Zack's love interest, had an open mind about relationships, even though she had been badly burned in the past. Cherise, the older sister was just the opposite, and while there was a hint of something really bad in her past relationship(s), I'm sure more will be revealed in CLOSER TO YOU: LEE. I am also looking forward to Richard's story, A TASTE OF LOVE: RICHARD. I'm not sure whether the youngest brother's story will be incorporated in one of these two books, but I certainly hope so.

So, hats off to Ms. Rochelle. This will be a very good read for anyone looking for a wonderful, sensual love story. I am going to buy the other two books right now because I must see how it all ends.

First the negatives:

This book has one of my pet peeves. The conversations don't seem realistic. The constant "babe" "love" "sweet" was a little much. Even with the most in love couples, it was much. Now, stepping onto my soap box:

The heroine is supposedly an ED nurse. That should have been my first clue to stop reading this. Note to all writers. The nurses that read your books take offense to the notion that we are "just a nurse" and not a doctor or that the ones that are really smart, for whatever reason, dropped out of medical school, or really secretly want to be doctors. Guess what!! There are plenty of brilliant nurses who always wanted to be nurses. It's a different kind of care of the patient. And, if you are going to write about nurses, have an idea of our role in the care of the patient. The fact that an ED nurse with 6 years of experience could or better yet would only hold pressure to a stab wound and then have to step aside so the doctors could try and "save" the patient is laughable. I worked in the Intensive Care Unit of a level one trauma center (which is also affiliated to a medical school-which makes it a "teaching hospital") and we would have to go down for all traumas that were coming to the ICU. I have seen those nurses have to instruct the doctors on procedures and many times they are the ones saving the lives. To make this ED nurse the damsel in distress she became is insulting to all nurses!! So not fair.

A few other things (and there were several) that made no sense at all.

She gets mad about the dumbest thing. For example, the whole incident with the cougar. It is understandable to get upset, however, to blame him is stupid.

It was never fully explained why Cherise had to sign over her property because her sister owned it. How were they going to get in "so much trouble".

The positives:
Um...maybe the other books in this series are better. As we all know, once I start a series, no matter how horrible, I feel the need to continue it. I would only loan this book to a friend who was desperately in need of something to read. I heard so many positive things about this book, however, it was just ok for me. TTFN-Sandy

Traci is annoyingly obtuse. She sees what she see, says what she say, and does what she does without thinking/seeing things through. This is the second book by this author and I have to wonder if she is ever going to change her strategy and writing up. It starts with meeting a guy, playing hard to get, falling for guy, family issues on the female and male side that complicate the potential relationship, a secret or some such coming to life that causes issues, a big understanding resulting in a break-up/separation, the time spent apart mourning/trying to get over each other, and finally the realization that they belong together, thus making up in some over-the-top manner. Oh, let's not forget the dialogue. Who actually talks like Traci and Zack. Way too talky and stiff. Not recommended~

I have never been so angry with a book that I felt like I had to write a review. I am so sorry but this was the worst book I ever read. The author unnecessarily dragged the story out with never ending ridiculous fights between the characters for no reason. The writing and the structure of the story was pathetic. I am very angry that the book was compared to any of the previous books I have read. I was so disappointed in this book!! Oh my gosh, the book was uninteresting, and I am super pissed that I wasted my $4.80 on this book.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I had a hard time getting into the book, but I did enjoy it overall. Traci had a strong personality and I think that she and Zach balanced each other out. I liked that Zach had to get out of his element and pursue Tracy when he was used to woman fawning over him. The use of pet names did get on my nerves a little bit. Overall it was a sweet story.

This book was a hot mess. One white guy lusts after a black woman, having never dated a black woman before. Next thing he is falling all over himself to date her. Then lo and behold, his 3 other white brothers are attracted to black women. Really? And the jealousy was just off the charts.

I think there was potential for this to be an ok book, but it kind of turned out to be a "color by numbers" love story.
