Games Workshop Group PLC (often abbreviated as GW) is a British miniature wargaming manufacturing company. Games Workshop is best known as developer and publisher of the tabletop wargames Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game.
I should say that I don’t read these books for the background information even though Games Workshop put a lot of effort into this back-story. I use the book to help play the game and the book appears to be packed with useful, well-presented data. Unfortunately on closer examination it doesn’t always make sense. Also the main reason the book is necessary is because GW are continually ‘fiddling’ with the information. Looking back over many years it’s surprising how much of the data simply changes backwards and forwards and over time doesn’t actually move. If possible I would give 2.5 stars.
Rules keep advancing with inclusions of the contents of Engine War and Vigilous. Still no more special characters though and Mars is overpowered as a forgeworld.
