Susan Eloise Spaeth was born on 11 December 1946 in Cuthbert, Georgia, USA. She was the eldest daughter of Maggie Eloise Cliatt, a nurse and also journalist, and William Olin Spaeth, a college professor. Her mother was part of the women's liberation movement many years before it became fashionable. Her best friends are her mother and her sister, Dannis Spaeth (Cole), who now has two daughters, Amanda Belle Hofstetter and Maggie and lives in Utah. Susan grew up reading Zane Grey and fell in love with cowboys. Susan is a former newspaper reporter, with sixteen years experience on both daily and weekly newspapers. Since 1972, she has been married to James Kyle and have since settled down in Cornelia, Georgia, where she started to write romance novels. Susan and her husband have one son, Blayne Edward, born in 1980.
She began selling romances in 1979 as Diana Palmer. She also used the pseudonyms Diana Blayne and Katy Currie, and her married name: Susan Kyle. Now, she has over 40 million copies of her books in print, which have been translated and published around the world. She is listed in numerous publications, including Contemporary Authors by Gale Research, Inc., Twentieth Century Romance and Historical Writers by St. James Press, The Writers Directory by St. James Press, the International Who's Who of Authors and Writers by Meirose Press, Ltd., and Love's Leading Ladies by Kathryn Falk. She was named to two honor societies (the Torch Club and Alpha Chi), and was named to the National Dean's List. In addition to her writing projects, she is currently working on her master's degree in history at California State University. She hopes to specialize in Native American studies. She is a member of the Native American Rights Fund, the American Museum of Natural History, the National Cattlemen's Association, the Archaeological Institute of Amenca, the Planetary Society, The Georgia Conservancy, the Georgia Sheriff's Association, and numerous conservation and charitable organizations. Her hobbies include gardening, archaeology, anthropology, iguanas, astronomy and music.

A diferencia de otros libros de la autora en esta ocasión el protagonista es algo más suave, así que Maggie escapa de la "suerte" de ser una pobre mártir. Además, Diana Palmer la dota de carácter y de pocas ganas de dejarse pisotear lo que resulta refrescante (si eres aficionad@ a la autora ya sabrás que esta no es la tónica normal).
La relación entre ellos también es muy bonita y dulce, incluído el final.

This story was by the wonderful Diana Palmer aka Diana Blayne, in the earlier part of her career, had all the Diana Palmer flair that I love. It was just what I was looking for when I read a Diana Palmer book. It had all the familiar themes that I love that was full of tension, angst, sensual foreplay, misunderstands, hurt feelings, and just a lot of emotions going on. It was very familiar kind of read by her, but a very welcome one. This met my expectations to a tee, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I enjoyed all the scenes between Maggie and Saxon as they made their way to happily ever after. Love was very clear coming from both sides even if they didn’t believe it while in each other’s company. They had some very passionate scenes between them, and I loved seeing Maggie and Saxon’s interactions throughout the story. I liked them as a couple, and it just made me feel good while I was reading it. It brought back the fact of why and how I fell in love with Diana Palmer all those years ago and really turned me onto the adult romance scene. She was first adult author I have read, and it just brought back all the feels that I got when I read the first. I loved having that feeling and getting all those feels because lately I have gotten those feels in romance, but here I got them, and I love that. This may not have been my most favorite Diana Palmer book of all time, nor were Maggie and Saxon my favorite couple, but it was still very, very good, and I was so happy while I was reading it. This made my day. It was exactly what I expected and more importantly exactly what I wanted with all that usual Diana Palmer flair.

It was pretty good. I enjoyed it. The sexual tension between the hero and heroine was freaking off the charts! I mean, the romance was a slow burn... and when they finally got together. Wow! Hot! And I have to make sure if this book was really published during the '80s.
I also loved that the hero didn't sleep/dated another woman after realizing his feelings towards the heroine.

Diana Palmer is one of my all time favourite authors and I come back to her time and again. This book was one of her older man, younger woman ones that has tragedies in their past. Maggie Sterline fell in love with Saxon Tremayne but their fledgling relationship was torn apart when a story was printed with her name as a byline. Months later they are brought together again when her sister Lisa gets engaged to his brother Randy. Can they heal the rift between them? Can the accident Saxon was in keep them apart? I adored this book with its second chance theme and characters you just rooted to get a HEA!

A great early Diana Palmer. The H was not as verbally, emotionally abusive to the h (as in her later books). Even though still a virgin, the h has a backbone and an excellent sense of humor throughout the book. Good sexual chemistry. Interesting details of the textile industry that does not bleed into beating us over the head with too much info (as in her later books).

This was like other novels I have read before by the author. But the twist here is that the hero lures the heroine back to him under the premise of revenge. He schemes to have her brought to his family home so that can care for him after he is blinded in a car accident. It was a good story but one that I had felt that I had read before.

A pesar de que la nueva edición es de 2019 (original) y 2021 (española), en realidad es un libro de 1984.
Se nota demasiado la época. La romántica ha evolucionado tanto como la situación y el papel de la mujer (y menos mal).
Para variar, en este libro nos encontramos a un macho rico, muy macho y muy rico, con una buena y virginal chica, entre medias tenemos obstáculos en forma de malentendidos laborales y cegueras selectivas. Es tan predecible que aburre, pese a que la Palmer tira de oficio y está escrito correctamente.
