May 5, 2022Admiro imenso o trabalho de qualquer escritor que se debruce sobre literatura infantil. E, habitualmente, regresso a ela em alturas de menos tempo, de menos vontade e de menos concentração - é uma espécie de ritual de reajuste: para me (re)encontrar, para me centrar novamente e retomar tudo do ponto onde parei.
E depois existem algumas pequeninas pérolas que apenas pedem para ser lidas - haja ou não necessidade de uma pausa de leituras mais complexas.
Neste caso, a leitura estava prometida desde a publicação deste volume, e a premissa não poderia ter sido melhor - 2020; pandemia: o leitor confinado em casa já esquecido do que é viver, abre a janela... Eis uma oportunidade para começar de novo. Agora tem o futuro nas mãos.
Vimos, não é uma visão utópica, como o mundo se reajusta, e quão depressa recupera dos danos que lhe infligimos. No espaço de 1/2 anos vimos a natureza reconquistar parte do seu caráter selvagem, reclamar mares, florestas, cada cantinho do mundo... E depois chegou 2022.
Fruto de uma parceria com o Instituto Jane Goodall*, "What happened when we all stopped" é um livrinho inspirador, sem dúvida, um pouco ingénuo dada a nossa marcha evolutiva, mas muito interessante enquanto ferramenta didática.
Preciosa a linguagem e as ilustrações.

Por vezes as mensagens mais simples são as que mais interiorizamos, este livro é o reflexo disso mesmo.
O Homem como fonte dos inúmeros problemas na Terra.
Usufruímos de um maravilhoso planeta; urge deixar de o maltratar ininterruptamente.
Há que sensibilizar, apelar, valorizar.
A nossa sobrevivência depende disso então não há como deixar para amanhã.
